1301  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and Education on: July 24, 2020, 10:38:52 PM
For bitcoin to be included in the school course curriculum, it needs to be first made legal by the countries. How can you include anything in the course which is not legal in most of the countries.  In my country, some people are offering courses on blockchain or crypto trading but that is being done at a personal or private level. There is no official course launched by our government.
Including bitcoin in a school curriculum, i doubt that would happen, but we might see blockchain been a topic and there might be university offering courses. In the future we might see more university opening up courses for blockchain
It could be a topic only, agree to it, but not a full subject. It's not necessary to be taught since you just need the basics if you want to learn about using cryptocurrency. Bitcoin is already an application in programming so definitely, it should be taught under courses with programming.

Bitcoin is very complex especially the blockchain but you will understand the system if you have a background and foundation on how to create it.

Look what I did in here --- Trying a little experiment using a programming language.
The only background that I have is basic programming.
1302  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: India may again ban cryptocurrency on: July 24, 2020, 05:06:36 PM
I am not so worry about this information because in the past, there are many countries that have published bans to cryptocurrency but by many ways, their citizen still buy and sell their crypto and when a whole host of countries in over the world accept it, that bans will be no more meaning
That's why bitcoin is decentralized coin. People can use it on their own way. Government is not able to trace all the transactions. They can ban it only for official notice.
If India is using a local wallet, they can easily locate and trace those transactions if the company behind the local wallet allows the government to investigate. Your identity will be easily exposed, that's one of the disadvantages of a local wallet. Another problem is, you can't withdraw that money since you can't exchange or convert those BTC into money.
I am not so worry about this information because in the past, there are many countries that have published bans to cryptocurrency but by many ways, their citizen still buy and sell their crypto and when a whole host of countries in over the world accept it, that bans will be no more meaning
The bill is not yet finalize and even India ban cryptocurrency for sure they will not prevent the people to engage in crypto because they already know that they can earn bigger in cryptocurrency. And Cryptocurrency is unavoidable whatever the action of the government regarding cryptocurrency. And one more thing, cryptocurrency is not hold by the government due to decentralization, they have no control over it.
Yes, it's decentralized but there's a hole into this and can limit those transactions in the local exchanges that will not let you convert your BTC into money. So definitely, if a ban happens all over the country, it might really affect those who use the local wallets. But if you can still transfer money and convert without the use of any local exchanges or wallet, then it's a good thing where they can still use crypto.
1303  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best Bitcoin Wallet? on: July 24, 2020, 04:49:45 PM
I'm using electrum for how many years, a user-friendly BTC wallet.

You can download it in here --- https://electrum.org/#download

  • Fast in transactions.
  • It's built with a password so no one can access the wallet.
  • Real-time.
  • Users are the only ones who have control of their wallet and bitcoins.
  • Last but not least, it's free to download.

Try to read this if you're interested, it's easy to operate --- https://bitzuma.com/posts/a-beginners-guide-to-the-electrum-bitcoin-wallet/
1304  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gaming Industry and Cryptocurrency! on: July 24, 2020, 04:32:04 PM
I'm not so sure about cryptocurrencies and the gaming industry.
Why? The ability to earn cryptocurrencies while playing and pay the price immediately  would pull in new users  who have  an axe to grind with the games be it  RPG, strategies, racing or something else. For the game industry it would open the new monetization roads while for cryptos it would attract newcomers into the field.
Agree, and it's a good idea, imagine that you're just playing an RPG game and grinding to get BTC? In that part, people will adopt the use of cryptocurrency and they will be curious on how does cryptocurrency works. I hope that they create a game that has a lot of features like in the "Real Player One" movie and the prize is bitcoin. Definitely, there will be a lot of gamers will be interested in that, it's a win-win situation for the cryptocurrency and gaming community, many will like it.
1305  Economy / Economics / Re: returning to normal on: July 24, 2020, 03:22:13 PM
In the current situation, it is very difficult to talk about when we will return to normal life. As soon as the media starts talking about the stabilization of the situation in the country and about the possible withdrawal from quarantine or easing it, the government immediately begins to announce an increase in the incidence and the increased number of victims of the coronavirus.
Yes it is very difficult for all of us to get back to normal especially in my country that the poaitive cases grows each day so fast. Almost all hospitals in the city cannot accommodate new patient that needs to be admitted because there are no beds available. On the other hand, I am reading a news that a vaccine made in Russia is OK to use but due to in demand it will took long time to provide vaccine for the whole world.
Our country has a lot of cases per day and I doubt that we can go back to normal this year, another guess of mine is it will take a lot of years for the country's economic recovery. There are a lot of people who became poor because of the government's decision for having a lockdown that is being wasted due to lifting the lockdown without flattening the curve.

Also, those vaccines will be also expensive and there will be a lot of people who will suffer on this so I really doubt that we, a third world country who have an incompetent government, will resolve this pandemic.
1306  Economy / Economics / Re: Did COVID-19 Bring Any Positive Sign? on: July 24, 2020, 03:03:24 PM
Covid 19 didn't bring any positive sign at all. There are so many life that is gone and affected of the viruses, some are really getting frustrated

Even though there are lives that are in danger right now, I also pity them. But due to this pandemic families that were apart are are now together, people learn how to pray for each other or for the whole world to stop this thing, pollutions are lessen, discipline and cleanliness were applied, and many more things.  Let us just help those who are infected by praying for them.
Families that are now together because of COVID-19 can be a positive sign but there's also an effect. If those relatives of yours have contacted other people that are infected, the more you are in the house, the spreading of the virus is very possible. The only positive sign that I see is the pollution is lessened and the environment is now very clean but after the quarantine, it came back to normal where there are much pollutions.

I also concluded that the time we spent on quarantine is just a waste, it just suffers us for longer. Online business is mainstream and a lot of people are selling now through social media but the government wanted to put some tax on it.
1307  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which website do you usually go to get your news and casino reviews? on: July 24, 2020, 02:31:23 PM

There's a new one which had been recently introduced.. https://www.btcgosu.com/
Ann thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5262141.0

This is much better compared to others that had already existed.

Will bookmark btcgosu website it's fresh in the eyes and informative.
Before, I just visit gambling thread in this website whenever I look for some new casino to compare when I'm planning in a casino or to see update in some existing casino, since we have many active gamblers or users here who sited their experiences and even show their winning payouts sometimes. BTCgosu, His website can be a summary if we don't have too much time to browse many casino threads and Ann thread of casinos here in the forum.
Actually, I rely on this forum whenever I want to play specific gambling sites especially the new ones. The community here are trusted and reliable so for me their reviews are legit and it can consider as good source of information. I also sometimes watched in youtube about the review of specific gambling sites, I make sure that it doesn't have any issues specially in withdrawing funds because most of the new online casinos have issues on it.

Most of the time i do really make out checks into this forum if i do able to get some information on the new site that had just popped out from nowhere. If you do hesitate or have doubts then this is the best place for you to find of some information if not then try on reddit or other sources.Just be sure that you do know how to differentiate which one is a fake review or just shilling out compared to original or true feedbacks.
Im glad that lots of people above do appreciate on what i had suggested about the new site that had just launched which i had said earlier that this is also a better option or place for people to check on.
This is non other useless sites that we do see so far.
Reddit is also a place where I usually browse when it comes to news 'cause some are reliable and worthy to read contents. Popular platforms like bitcointalk and reddit can disseminate those fake news and articles 'cause people are very good at fact-checking. Those who are into merits and karmas always debunk those users who post non-sense or fake contents just to attract viewers. So forum like this is very reliable also for news, because we discuss it in here and we share our opinions regarding about the topic. It's also better if you're also reading on some platforms where news is their main purpose and forums should be secondary only.
1308  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's your favorite crypto for gambling? on: July 24, 2020, 02:03:09 PM
Agree to it, ETH is very fast, more reliable, and less expensive. That's the reason most of the online casinos are using ETH as payment because of the fast transaction.
Another reason why many user use ethereum in gambling may be due to fee. If you have a balance on a bitcoin wallet "not on exchange" then of course fee are not a problem. But if a gambler has to buy it in exchange and transfer it to a gambling site then there are a lot of costs involved. Exchange have different transaction fee and are usually higher than transaction fee from our own "not an exchange wallet" wallet.

For now, I tend to choose Ethereum and Litecoin to be used in gambling activities although I also like bitcoin.
Yes, that's what I'm talking about, using ETH is less expensive so there's no need to worry about the fees. So transferring money when you lost balance on the gambling platform is not a problem anymore. You wouldn't notice that there's a deduction on your wallet because it's too small.

So it's better to have balances of ETH and be ready in case of losing balance, BTC fee on exchanges is kinda expensive and it'll cost a lot, especially for those small gamblers.
1309  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Las Vegas Casinos are open - end of the Pandemic era. on: July 24, 2020, 01:17:36 PM
https://www.wsj.com/articles/las-vegas-sands-swings-to-loss-amid-plummeting-revenue-11595450474?mod=hp_lista_pos5

Casino's in Las Vegas reported up to 97% (!) of decline of revenues according this article published in WSJ
Literally billions of USD have been "not played" due this pandemic event Sad the entire industry of entertainment has been severely hit
This big amount of money (at least a percentage) it's pretty sure will be caught from online casino...

Can't read the whole article but I read an article that says casinos are actually having profits amidst the pandemic but I guess I read that wrong. I guess they should stick to online or live betting now so that workers can stillcdo their jobs and avoid more contacts to people that would also lessen the contamination of the virus.
~snip
So the question here is, are they still operating profitably?

Some people are actually going to casinos because they don't want Vegas' economy to crumble down based on this article. So I guess they would continue to open casinos despite the increasing cases and there will always be hard-headed individuals in this pandemic like the two people stated in the same article.
There will be always people who won't follow orders and will still do they want to do. Las vegas is a very popular place for all gamblers and it's one of the greatest in the gambling industry that helps the economy.

Even here in my country, they will still continue the business here that will help to grow the countrie's economy. POGO are always running here and didn't stopped even there's a quarantine, I don't know why our government let them do their thing here and without also paying tax. I hope that they will implement a massive clearance for them to be safe in Las Vegas.
1310  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: how big? on: July 24, 2020, 11:47:16 AM
yeah the wager image you provided is a legend website that still survives and has many users or players, imagine how rich the website developer is, at least a gambling website should be like this and can provide many choices or bonuses that can be claimed every hour and provide opportunities for the players to try.
That gambling site still runs until now, and that is normal if they can get that huge money because we know that many gamblers are still playing on that site. We can claim every hour of the free coins if we don't want to gamble, and they allow us to do that. But we can not expect to get big money from that because the reward will adjust to the bitcoin price.

Not only that, they are in the gambling industry for more than 5 years already, they are one of the pioneers here in crypto gambling industry. And look at their ranking and number of visits, you can tell why they are profitable. https://www.similarweb.com/website/freebitco.in/
When I discover cryptocurrency, freebitco.in was the first website I saw on the google search bar and claimed a lot of bitcoin there. Imagine that I save those BTC last 4 years, maybe I earned a lot of profit on their platform through freerolls. Now that they're very popular and many gamblers are using their site, probably, they're earning millions of money per month. That's how a gambling platform big right now and can't imagine that online gambling platforms will be in the mainstream for many people. The developers are lucky because they gained a lot on creating a crypto gambling platform and it's a brilliant thing to enter the crypto industry.
1311  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's your favorite crypto for gambling? on: July 24, 2020, 10:52:55 AM
If the game itself does not take place on the blockchain, then of course the ETH, it is liquid, fast enougth and reliable. If the game takes place on the blockchain, then something faster is needed (this is theoretical reasoning, I do not play such games), something like EOS.
Agree to it, ETH is very fast, more reliable, and less expensive. That's the reason most of the online casinos are using ETH as payment because of the fast transaction.

But sometimes, most of the gamblers are still using BTC in the gambling platforms and some are using ETH for safety and secured transactions, sadly that some of the gambling platforms do not accept ETH or any altcoins. So ETH is much more reliable when it comes to payment and it is the recommended alternative to be used.
1312  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which website do you usually go to get your news and casino reviews? on: July 24, 2020, 10:34:01 AM
These are the websites where I look gambling news.

I do not usually subscribe or follow any news pages about gambling and casinos because if ever I wanted to know something new or anything about the latest happenings in the gambling industry, there is Google wherein I can just input the information I wanted to know and it can already provide the needed information for me to know. Also, this forum serves as another source of news and information since many members are updated on the latest happenings whether about Bitcoin, economics and other stuffs so whenever I wanted to know something and it's hard for me to find it on the internet, I just roam around in here and surprisingly I find more than enough of the fresh news and issues as well as reviews about certain gambling or casino sites which makes me more aware and updated. With that, there is no need for me to subscribe or follow news sites since everything can be gained on the internet and this forum.

Same here. Google and this forum are more than enough for me to check casino sites.
But the easiest one is to lookup in google. Just type whatever you want to search and google will give you a lot of articles or sites you can read.
But when it comes to crypto casinos, the comprehensive feedback you can have is from this forum. This gambling board will give you so much info about these casino sites.
So no need to go far. This forum has tons of information even to nongambling users.
Yes, it's reliable to look news here in bitcointalk since it's also being discussed and people can easily determine if it's legit news. But some news that is being posted here also comes from the crypto or gambling news platforms like cointelegraph - gambling. But if you're looking for experiences about the online casino, yes we can really rely on this and you can read some stuffs or experiences about the casino you like. So you should look here in the forum and some gambling news platforms that I've mentioned so you can be updated on every articles or news issued by them.
1313  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Mike Tyson vs Roy Jones Junior [PPV on Nov. 28] on: July 24, 2020, 10:11:09 AM
--
I can't deny that Mike Tyson is a legend and already have a lot of achievements in boxing while Jones is a 4-weight champion. IMO, Jones has an unbelievable talent and even he's aging, his ability also grows.

Both boxers are invincible but I guess jones is more invincible than Tyson even he has a lot of physical attributes. Take note that Jones is recently more active while Tyson is already 15 years outside the ring so I guess Roy's speed and skill will help him to win in this fight.
1314  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: FreeBitcoin Bot - What do you think about this tool?? on: July 24, 2020, 09:51:54 AM
I have one general opinion of all bots, I don't trust them, I don't think they will do work for you and you don't need them. This very bot isn't exception.
If you ask me don't use bots, especialy not in gambling because that might produce effect just the opposite from wanted, bots can't think and make decisions instead of you and instead of winning you might end up losing.
Bots are reliable sometimes too if they will do an easy task.

This is was dice game it is - simple, easy task. There is no "hard strategy" or moments like in poker, where you need to act depending on situation. For example, i tried to write my own gambling bot in my young age, but i tried another russian bot and lost some money there, i left this idea. And problem was not in the bot, bot worked fine. The problem was in the game, which very depending on casino honesty.

So there is not reason to use bot in casino where you don;t know for sure is it provably fair or not. And bot just economize your time, nothing more. Keep it in mind.
Probably it'll gonna be a waste of time, I tried a bot when I'm new in crypto and disappointed 'cause instead of being reliable, it just ruined the experience I'm having in online gambling platforms. I agree with you that there's no reason we should use bot 'cause it's unfair for those developers of the site, it's illegal and there's no assurance that it'll help you for the long term 'cause sometimes after using it, an error occurs.

That's why I state that simple bots are just for easy tasks, even a calculator is considered as a bot, that uses to compute probability of winning a match.
1315  Economy / Economics / Re: COVID-19's "New Normal" is Creating Opportunities in Crypto on: July 24, 2020, 08:29:17 AM
I think the most opportunities that were created during this whole pandemic was the "work from home" concept that has been unlocked. Most people can work from home, but traditional managers and company owners did not want to allow it... but now they were forced to do that and they now see that it is possible for lots of people to work from home.
Ofcourse, especially those company that requires manpower, it's a disadvantage for them if they will just hire WFH people.
I have many friends who are now working from home, even after the lock down has been lifted by the government and they even took up a second online work to supplement their income.  Wink

Some are taking photos and selling them to online platforms and others have been making masks and selling them to people on Facebook Marketplace. One of them are even giving remote dance classes via Zoom and people are paying her in Bitcoin.  Grin
Same with me, My friends are working now in-home, and we can see a lot of opportunities in the digital world. There are also many scams spreading all over the social media platforms and taking this pandemic as an advantage to them. Some are just dragging cryptocurrency to their business model just to attract investors to their Ponzi scheme.
1316  Economy / Economics / Re: Doing an essay on Bitcoin, need ideas on: July 24, 2020, 08:10:24 AM
I see you're a computer science student, then maybe you should focus on the technicalities of bitcoin. Start your essay on the history of bitcoin and how was it made and have a transition to the technical side of it.
  • Programming
  • Blockchain
  • Mining
  • Future of blockchain
  • Applications of blockchain
  • How will affect the modern technology
I hope this helps you, I guess your professor will look about it, not just about the history and definition of terms about bitcoin. Since you're a computer related student, you should discuss and write the part that isn't common and not can be write by a non-computer-related course student.
1317  Economy / Economics / Re: Economy after COVID-19 on: July 24, 2020, 07:19:45 AM
I believe our economy is going to be absolutely fine in 6-12 months if we won't see another quarantine in nearest future.
On the other hand if current situation will only get worse and we'll have to make another lockdown - we are going to face huge troubles
What about countries that are in debt? They can't recover easily especially those third world countries that are really affected like our country. I doubt our economy will recover after 6-12 months, maybe it'll take a lot of years to make our economy good again. There's a lot of affected here, especially business, and the only thing that benefits a lot is in the government position who clearly keeps having money even there's a pandemic. I also doubt that our government will handle this situation smoothly since they're prioritizing other matters than the pandemic so good luck to us here.
1318  Economy / Economics / Re: Biggest winner during COVID? on: July 24, 2020, 06:26:44 AM
To me, biggest winner during the COVID were the governments.

Covid impacted negatively economies, disrupting lives of citizens leaving many of them out of the job.
Sanitary emergencies required exceptional measures like lockdowns or temporary restrictions of individual liberties.
In this situation Governments could go full steam in what they like the most: interfere with economic systems and with private life of their citizens.
They could also do without restrictions, as a gargantuan amount of money was poured into the systems by CB’s brrr and relaxation of fiscal policies, allowing an enormous quantity of debt to be created.
Governments are the ultimate beneficiaries of the pandemic, at the expenses of their citizens.

They use the current pandemic to campaign for the upcoming election next year, they hoard alcohol, mask, and PPE and now they're putting names on it and giving to people. The testing prioritizes those VIP which is those government officials and other politicians. The funds are straight in their pocket, some of the poor people didn't receive any help from the government.

They're destroying the citizen's life on their incompetent decisions while they're just chillin' on their positions. Instead of showing that they really deserve the spot and giving care to the people, they're showing their true identity that they're just a corrupt politician. They keep blaming the citizens because of their incompetencies and now that people are against the government, they implemented a bill about terrorism which is very inappropriate in this pandemic.
1319  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin might never reach it's ATH anymore on: July 24, 2020, 06:06:59 AM
There's a possibility that bitcoin might never reach new ATH but there's also a possibility that it can be reached. It's 50-50 btw, and no one knows what bitcoin will do next in the few hours, it might prove you wrong after creating this thread. The market of bitcoin is highly volatile, there's a chance that even analysis with good calculations can be wrong.

So let's keep in mind that no one can predict bitcoin's future. Actually we can predict the price as long as we're using AI or artificial neural networks, our current project have this and it has massive programming and have a lot of data just to predict a subject's value. But I guess the accuracy will be just around 70-80%.
1320  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Future of Bitcoin Technology. on: July 24, 2020, 05:40:51 AM
I have created a topic regarding about the development of society through the adaption of blockchain in my local.

"Development" and "Improvement" of the Society: Discussion about Blockchain.

We already conducted research about the uses of blockchain and it has a lot of advantages when we adopted the use of it. The government will remain to disagree on the uses of blockchain since they didn't implement any complete study about this and probably the politicians will just ignore it. But we, as innovative people, we should make use of the blockchain in any kind of things since it's very powerful and has features that other technologies don't have.
