Link: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5435015

Recenziile trebuie scrise in perioada 23 Ian - 5 Feb (2 sapt).

$50 in BTC Giveaway
link: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5435424

In orice caz, sunt dragute.

Nu mi se pare mult (in conditiile in care MJ a platit transportul).

Oricum, multumesc.
1323  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Iancoleman users I want answers on: January 16, 2023, 07:40:10 PM
How sure are you that iamcoleman is safe? It's open source?

It's open source. But that doesn't make it safe. You never have to trust what you find running online.
This being said, Ian Coleman's page also has, at its end, link for getting the files for offline usage. And if you get those, and use them offline, on a system with no persistence or which you'll wipe (not just delete) afterwards, then you're pretty much OK.
And even so, if you are paranoid enough (which is not a bad thing) you'll read that the random used by such scripts may not be that good. And this may or may not be a problem. 99% of the cases it isn't.

Is this the answer you were looking for?
1324  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: How to open channel in Lightning Network on: January 16, 2023, 06:38:49 PM
What doesn't make sense to me is that they are using Lightning Network to transfer this large amount of BTC.

Indeed, for such large amount, even sending with a "huge fee" of a dollar or two (or even ten!) it still makes more sense to send on-channel.

Also I have no idea what Hash Power on Reflection ID means.

Me neither, and it's known that scammers do make up complicated wording to confuse users (I don't know if it's the case, but it seems to be).

The company that is claiming they will send me the BTC says I am required to pay 0.59 BTC in order to receive 12.4 BTC and that the 0.59 BTC will be refunded with the transfer of the 12.4 BTC.

If one requires money from you in order to send you your money... that's 99.9999999999% sure a scam.
Just think: what on earth they need that money for?!

1325  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Lost access to coins Bitcoin Core on: January 16, 2023, 03:23:30 PM
Today I discovered that I lost access to my BTC, bought back in 2019. I know what the password consists of, but it is very long, 30+ characters. Is it possible to recover such a long password?

If you know (big) parts of it, it can maybe be brute-forced.
But how it comes you've just forgot the whole password? Maybe you can find it/recover more of it before trying more with the wallet?

Maybe you know the password, but it's just not working anymore? That can easily happen when you change keyboard layout (somebody I know had recently a similar surprise too).
1326  Economy / Collectibles / Re: My Cold Keys Just Got Swiped! All Halving Sets!! on: January 16, 2023, 03:17:26 PM
I think everyone is missed with yogg alt account yogg_alt since no one have left negative feedback yet except me.

His last active was January 15, 2023, 05:09:10 AM, it means he's really aware and keep watching this mess for sure, I don't see any chance he will resolve this case since he's not making any reply.

Well, on this same page there's also the account Coldkey, also (according to the trust feedback) acknowledged as alt of yogg.
It's an account inactive since 2021, but who knows, maybe yogg finds the credentials on another forgotten USB stick...
1327  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: ads might drain your wallets on: January 16, 2023, 02:42:25 PM
Since there was even mining in ads, I am surprised people still don't use ad blockers (especially ublock origin).
I think that it's only Chrome for Android that doesn't allow extensions/uBlock origin, but one can just install Firefox then.

Ah, and if one knows that he will ever click on an Ad or unsafe website, then he must have his funds on a (properly set up) hardware wallet.
Oh well, mishaps like this are good advertising for what one should learn to do at very least in 2023 in the world of crypto and internet.

1329  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I feel happy on: January 16, 2023, 02:10:11 PM
and I feel happy because I haven't been investing for a long time, suddenly the price of bitcoin has gone up

I can clearly say that I am happy for you. Well, I am also happy to see the trend looks good again. It's a nice feeling, but I am also a bit wary because we're not out of the danger zone yet.
What I want to say is that you should not care so much about this small and short movements. Look on long term charts. The price can continue to go up or can go down again (and can even become scarily low, depending on the price one bought), but that doesn't mean we have to be overly affected by these movements. Again, it's only a couple of days of moving up; that's not much, not yet.
So: keep your cool, don't be neither overly confident, nor depressed by the price movements. Or at least don't take financial decision based on such short-time movements Wink

Acum sa dam bice, sa-i oferim omului recenziile.

1331  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Pumping After The Arrest of Sam on: January 16, 2023, 01:44:00 PM
It's encouraging to see that Bitcoin has experienced some solid increases following his arrest.

Actually the arrest was some more time (weeks!) ago.
If we want to link the pump with FTX, a newer update was that SBF has found some $5 billion of the FTX money "in his back pocket" (about 1 week ago).

This shows that many people are endorsing it and may indicate that the King of Cryptos' reputation can now slowly regain its former glory. We can only hope that BTC can close the year with some strength rather than some red waves.

While some of the politicians and media he was paying would like him stay out and pump more money, the bitcoiners know that
* he ran something between fractional reserve and plain Ponzi scam
* he most probably did scam
* he most probably deserves prison time

Even more, bitcoiners know that
* bitcoin reputation was affected only in the eyes of those who have absolutely no clue about bitcoin
* if people would keep their money in their own custody, this kind of crap would have no fuel to happen

Vrei sa vina vreun auto-intitulat "sef" sa ia deciziile?!

1333  Other / Meta / Re: How many forum members do you know by real name? on: January 16, 2023, 12:23:12 PM
Over 10 is really a very low number 😉

I would not be so sure about that Wink

I wanted to write: one = myself  Grin, but then I've seen there's already a debate about 0, so 0 it is.

Who you know by name on the internet, in a privacy focused forum?
Well, this is a simple question and the normal answer for many is expected to be 0, or at least very low.
Of course, in some few cases people got in here (or were invited in here by) family, co-workers/class mates or real life friends, but I expect there aren't so many such cases.

There are also few cases people from this forum have met IRL, sent collectibles to each other (although even postal address/name is not necessarily reliable) or have me at conventions/meetings.
But they're too few imho.
So, again, 10 is not too small number for such a barrier. It's okay... At least I'd be overly surprised if I'd see many responses in that "over 10" range.

SegWit a deschis calea spre LN.

Is it possible that the private keys were leaked from some other source, assuming that someone else had access to them?

No. Normally he should have destroyed those keys long ago. And he seems to have (at least) a gambling problem.
Imho the relevant posts are this, this and this.

It's an incredibly sad shit show. And the last post I've linked shows a tiny bit of its dimension, especially if you take it together with the number of posters in the first topic.

1337  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin developer @lukedashjr's wallet was hacked on: January 13, 2023, 02:40:05 PM
I see this as sure disaster

where do you store the paper
hardware made at hardware level with hardware level attacks.

Your at the mercy of a lot of people a very long supply chain that *know* you puting valuable there

After seeing people who have been using "cold storage" in a way it was "going online only to send out transactions", my current experience tells that HW is the current "good enough" option for the masses. And the rest can set up a cold storage properly, hopefully better than Luke did.

"where do you store the paper" <-- If you ever had a seed to store, you can answer this yourself. And if you didn't, you should use the search feature.
And I am curious: what would you recommend then if not hardware wallets?
1338  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Trust no one in Bitcoin (Coldkey story) on: January 13, 2023, 02:00:37 PM
Is there any estimate how much yogg stole so far?

As an update, I've just read this overly saddening topic from Krogoth hence I think that I may have been wrong and there may be other tx and more amounts that were stolen.
1339  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Trust no one in Bitcoin (Coldkey story) on: January 13, 2023, 12:18:24 PM
There are unloaded and DYI ones which imho they make much more sense, but the loaded ones bear much higher premium
The problem with DIY is that if you sell it, the buyer has to trust you instead of the manufacturer. There is no perfect solution.

That's correct. Imho if one wants to keep that DYI like forever, then he loads it; else (or if unsure) it can just stay unloaded as a DYI "kit", no biggie.
Of course, a collectible that's not loaded doesn't also hold the bigger and bigger premium over time. But there are always pluses and minuses.
1340  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Trust no one in Bitcoin (Coldkey story) on: January 13, 2023, 10:50:46 AM
Is there any estimate how much yogg stole so far?

I think that's "only" these addresses:

Still, that's over half a BTC. Plus the premium lost for those beautiful collectibles... Angry Plus the many who may have unpeeled more of their collectibles to check them  Angry
