He's probably asking for a "friend", who is too shy to ask this kind of question with his main account. Smiley
Hilarious, indeed. I understand that joke. It's what we often get to find on social media when people indirectly ask for solutions to their problems they think will cast them in bad light, especially sexual or marital. It's the same with what OP has done, using a noob account instead of their main.

However, that doesn't mean what the OP pointed out shouldn't be looked into. Sometimes I get to find nice responses from newbies which don't get merited. Perhaps, those who read those comments don't have merit to splash on them just like I don't often have too when I come across such posts. I guess someone should revive such old threads where nice unmerited posts should be reported to be merited. I know there used to be such threads on the forum but I don't find them anymore now.
1362  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Risk management on: June 08, 2023, 12:50:02 PM
Focus on the risk not rewards.
Both go together. We can't divorce one from the other. Let me digress a little here and throw in knowledge of picking entries in Forex trading in relation to RR – Risk and Reward. Part of managing risk is to compare the RR  ratio before triggering any trades. To get a near perfect entry, it's ideal that the reward be higher than the risk. Otherwise, the trade should be skipped. For instance, one makes it a Risk 25 pips in SL to Reward 40–50 (or more) pips in TP. For me, even in cryptos, I focus more on the reward. Something should entice me going into a trade, and certainly that thing isn't "Risk" but reward/profit.

1364  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin 2024 halving less than 1 year away on: June 06, 2023, 10:11:29 PM
When a halving occurs usually a lot of people panic buy so before the halving the price has skyrocketed, I'm sure the halving that occurs in less than a year will create a significant price explosion so that the price can reach 3x, if at the end of 2023 it can reach at least $ 50k then the price when halvings can be as high as $150k.
Panic buying and selling will continue to determine the pace of this industry. It's always better to have panic buying than to have panic selling, notwithstanding that the latter helps to redistribute wealth in form of price correction.

Sadly, the effect from FOMO which causes panic buying doesn't linger like the effect from FUD (which causes panic selling). Yes, I also put my prediction of what the next ATH will be and that's around what your price speculation for the next ATH is around too. Those who aren't buying now that price is relatively low will learn how to chase price by 2024.
1365  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How i can manage my job and my Bitcoin Trading at the same time? on: June 06, 2023, 08:26:07 PM
~snipped~
So you're trying to advice him to quit his teaching job and focus on trading. By quiting his teaching job he's giving up on the kids he used to teach to focus on himself. if you ask me I'll call that selfishness.
To be frank, there isn't anyone on planet earth who doesn't have that tint of selfishness running through them. However, what makes other selfishness conspicuous is the level it's taken to without a bit consideration for others. You talked about abandoning the kids, why shouldn't the teacher be told to concentrate on pursuing whatever ambition they want? Passion alone without money doesn't pay bills. The teacher has bills to pay. The kids have parents who obviously are pursuing their own ambition too. If what the teacher gets at the end of the month as salary is mere peanut, why shouldn't they take the step of faith in getting something better? My only concern for the teacher is they've to get a good handle on trading before quitting their teaching job. Otherwise, they're more likely to suffer hardship.

Life isn't about the money that we were able to make but the lifes we were able to impact while we were on earth because when you finally depart this world, it's the memories that stays with us and not the money you were able to gather while you were here.
Life is about two things – money and legacy. Nothing says one can't have both. While money is relevant to us while we're still on earth, legacy comes to play when when we're gone beyond the curtails (dead). So, have you now seen that life is majorly about money?
1366  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Also Girls Should Be learned About Bitcoin on: June 06, 2023, 07:02:43 PM
I am now much happy by sharing with my younger sister about Bitcoin and will be more happy if she share information and teach other friends.
Yes, she should throw herself deeper into learning it and also get her female friends into it. In as much as boys eat, girls eat; boys run businesses, girls run businesses, I don't see why Bitcoin investment and knowledge should be the exclusive rights of the male folk. Every gender (hermaphrodites inclusive) should've the encouragement to learn it. Aren't girls into some of the most difficult jobs in the world? Why should learning Bitcoin be any different then?
1367  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Pi mining networks real? on: June 06, 2023, 04:46:56 PM
The first time I heard about Pi mining was about two years ago and how the developer was aiming to launch it. That year passed, nothing happened. The following year nothing happened; till now. One thing I've come to notice about those supporting Pi or any other mining app is that they think they've invested a lot of time and energy on such that it will cost them more going back than keeping on. The sad reality is that, money isn't free in the air like these devs want to make us believe by clicking and claiming something that later translates to cash. Even faucets aren't that generous this day. Whenever I hear of Pi, I remember the inglorious days of TBC – The Billion Coin. Till date, that shit scam utopic coin hasn't still been listed on any reputable coin site. I believe those who invested in TBC have eventually come to face the reality that they've been successfully scammed. It's the same thing I know will happen to those investing in Pi now.
1368  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Advice to a Friend on: June 06, 2023, 04:17:08 PM
Advised my friend about bitcoin or bitcoin investment when bitcoin market was around $17k. My friend invested around $500 at that time but when the market rose to around $22k my friend sold all the bitcoins he had invested. Now I'm not going to give any advice on whether or not my friend should invest around $26k.
It's better to bow out when the ovation is loudest. That's all I can say on this. You advised your friend to buy and they did and made profit the first time. Don't prompt him again. Otherwise, if he does and loses he won't remember the first time he profited from it. Humans are like that. He will bemoan his loss and blame it on you.

My little addition is that your friend should just buy Bitcoin, he should forget about all that's happening around Bitcoin. His main concern should be buying and securing his Bitcoin so it doesn't get stolen as there are reports of hacks happening even in supposedly self custody wallets.
This was exactly what came to my mind when I read the OP. Except OP's friend is more interested in going into Bitcoin development, I don't see why he should be bothered about its development more that throwing his cash on it and acquiring it now that it's very affordable.
1369  Other / Off-topic / Re: A post about telegram scams on: June 06, 2023, 03:02:22 PM
I used to block and report those telegram channels that sent me unsolicited chats in the past until I realized I was getting banned by telegram from private chatting anyone. Each time I got such chat I would reply them first by telling them their scam to their faces and then report and block them. I didn't know what went wrong. Perhaps the channels I reported had influence on telegram and utilized their connections and got me restricted. So, I stopped responding to them before blocking them. Now, I just block the hell out of them straight away without response to them.

No need to wonder, most of their money scammed from victims are usually used for advertisement, they are among the most advertised betting platform online currently since they are already largely known for their scamming behavior, they don't just stop by advertising on wallets, huge sites with traffic and other, they also uses celebrities in advertising their business, if you are the type that watch clips online you will see most of our Africa celebrities promote them with their promo code in their videos
You didn't lie on the ubiquitous adverts going on by 1xbit at all. I've come across that on several online sites, especially crypto related ones. The company advertises heavily and I wonder why those sites accepting them do so. Is it that they don't have any idea of the scam allegations on 1xbit or they are incapacitated taking them down once it's on their sites?
1370  Economy / Lending / Re: Looking for 150 usdt loan on: June 06, 2023, 11:57:07 AM
According to seclog, your account wole up and reset the password via Email today.
Did you specifically just log into this account so that you can request for a loan?
You took the word out of my mouth. That sudden wake up evidence doesn't look nice on the OP at all, even if their intention were genuine. Those who run loan services here know how to sniff these things out (even if we don't say it here) but I doubt if they even have any considerations for noob accounts asking for their services, let alone an account that suddenly woke up.
1371  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I am a newbie on: June 06, 2023, 07:52:23 AM
Hi I am new to Bitcointalk and crypto how do I be of significance to the forum and Bitcoin community as a whole.
For a week you've been registered on this forum now you've only made just three posts, that isn't a step to getting yourself significant here. You've to be active to make an impact here. Secondly, I advise you (like I tell other newbies too) to steer off plagiarism, read the rules and regulations here and stick to them. If you don't do that starting now they're likely to hurt you later. Lastly, be yourself. Stick to your writing pattern and creativity. You read posts of others but don't try to be like them. Carve your own niche and concentrate on that.
1372  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: is right time for investment ? on: June 06, 2023, 06:46:51 AM
but now a days it's hard to believe in new projects so what you guys think should i have to take part in early stages of the OscarSwap or not as i am really scared of losing my hard earned money.
I'm sure I came across another user talking about this OscarSwap last week or so. I didn't give it a second thought then until I stumbled on it again now. The thing about new projects is that those investing in them should know they're riskier than already established ones. However, these type of projects could net one a better ROI than the old projects. It's a 50-50 thing of getting scammed by them or not. It's a whole lot of DYOR at a time like this, considering that next year is a Bitcoin halving year. Dubious projects like to push their products to the market at a time like that as they except a rush in the market. It has always been that way.
1373  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Quick Bitcoin questions on: June 05, 2023, 09:42:34 PM
Since some crypto coins have cheaper transaction fee doesn't this make such coins a better fit for payment solution than Bitcoin?.and Bitcoin a better fit for store of value
You asked penetrating questions here which I've asked myself too. For instance example, Dogecoin is one of the coins with the cheapest transaction fee and really fast to confirm but the thing against it could be that so many people still regard it as a joke, a meme sort of.

I believe what's aiding Bitcoin above others is its strong fan base as the pathfinder in this industry too. I don't think it's necessarily because of its decentralized status. After all, not all who even patronize it will know it's decentralized or know what decentralization means. For me, I see Bitcoin more of an asset than as a means of payment and I believe a lot of people do too. Otherwise, no one will be speculative of its price.
1374  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC holders, do not reveal your identity online on: June 05, 2023, 07:10:51 PM
First point to note in this industry, especially on Bitcoin, is that privacy matters. This has been preached enough. We know how even Bitcoin is all about decentralization and privacy, so why should anyone hodling it then flaunt it. Wealth acquired through cryptocurrency isn't what people should display on social media because world don't know who's watching at any point in time. There have been instances in the recent past where people got attacked in their homes after they had exposed their flamboyant life style. This thing isn't new and will continue to reoccur in as much that people aren't discreet with their businesses.
1375  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to draw the attention of the market if you're a good project?? on: June 05, 2023, 05:39:04 PM
What is the key of point that you're looking in a project and let us know how to improve better as well.
For me, I like to see a project that's active on social media to consider them serious. It's from social media I get to feel the pulse and heartbeat of a project to start with. That's one. The second thing is on what platform or market a project is listed or what medium is launching it. The third one is if the project is audited or not, and then I also consider the maximum supply. I don't like investing in projects with huge supply, especially when the launch price is on a high.

The fear that the People's Republic of China will ban cryptos which i think is used to spread fear in the crypto market is no longer working.
I perceive it too that there's no much influence from the Chinese anymore. They've over used their boogyman on the crypto space so much so that any negative pronouncement on cryptos from them this day doesn't shake the market anyone unlike what it did in 2017. To tell you the truth, I'm not perturbed with whatever news on cryptos that comes out of China this day. I've long exhausted my anxiety for them. I believe it's so too for many people.
1377  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin terminologies and their challenges for newbies. on: June 05, 2023, 09:39:48 AM
Are we supposed to grade this?? You already have the resources of the forum and the endless possibilities of the internet at your disposal, what more do you need? Everything you listed and tried to explain are well explained in the link you provided, I really don’t see the need to repeat them. If you use the forum engine, you will find this thread has been extensively discussed.
That's a bit harsh, coming from you to someone who should be getting more encouragement from a more experienced member like you. We should show these new users kindness and direction especially when they're showing signs and efforts they're making to increase their crypto knowledge. For me, your comment there didn't sound supportive. Again, you may have mastered how to search stuff here but OP is just a noob who may not even know there's a search engine here. It took me over two years being here before I realized I could search stuff on this forum. Please, let's find a way of encouraging these new ones who are showing genuine interest to learn.
1378  Economy / Economics / Re: Fake support? on: June 05, 2023, 07:44:53 AM
In the year 2021, China really banned all cryptocurrency mining activities. But last year (2022) it showed support for blockchain technology.
China's first ban on crypto was in 2017 and that caused a lot of crypto related companies to relocate. Binance was affected with that and it flee China. I was just coming into this industry and that stuff panicked me. Anyway, what's happening now in China isn't unexpected. When that ban happened, a lot of crypto veterans speculated that in later years China was going to regret that action and then begin a catch-up process. I think that's what the Chinese government is indirectly doing now. It's better late than never.
1379  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: First time and how I got interested on it on: June 05, 2023, 05:14:47 AM
the first time when my friend introduced me to Bitcoin I was not an interested, because
of fear, and I don't want to be scammed.
That's always the misconception and I won't say I blame those who harbour such thought. There's more the preponderance of scam online than it's offline and as such people are easily weary of things online.

my friend who was positioning me, travel out or let me say relocate that is how I missed my chance to learn Bitcoin more dipper.
Perhaps you will value him more now, for a prophet is not often known and valued in his hometown. However, even with his relocation outside your physical reach he can still mentor you provided there's a means of communication via the internet.

And  according the (Linguistics) they said opportunities comes but ones that is how I lost my opportunity. I don't want miss this chance now.
I don't believe opportunities come once. That concept is for people who want to easily give up.
1380  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New alt coin, Islamiccoin. 1m+ followers on twitter on: June 05, 2023, 02:39:18 AM
Any coin that bases on religion sentiment should be suspected.
Bless you, bro. I wish I had merit to splash on this comment of yours. Once there's a mention regarding religiosity in any project's blueprint, that's a no-no for me. This investment principle of mine was what saved me from getting fleeced by the scam called Zugacoin when it debuted.

Quote
The coin having the name of Islam will tend to attract Islamic investors to it and there is a large population of Islam's in the world.
Isn't cryptocurrency haram to Muslims anymore? I used to read the back and forth debates on why Muslims shouldn't invest in cryptos back then when I came into this industry that it was akin to gambling.
