That seems like a good change and a much simpler fix than anything I could come up with. If the imprinting on the hologram is unique, that'd help a lot too because it would prevent people from reusing a hologram they harvested from one card (say an unloaded one) on a different card. The part where I damaged the hologram the most was when trying to get the needle between the card and the bottom layer of the hologram so as pictured, I'm not sure this would be more difficult. I would use the letter as a channel to help guide my syringe under the hologram. (Let me know if that doesn't make sense, it's kind of hard to explain). My intuition says it might be easier to get it in where the hologram has been imprinted.  Arrow denoting where I'd try to inject. That being said, if you have bigger holograms and the imprinting doesn't overlap with the edge of the hologram, it'd definitely be harder. I'm meeting with a polymer engineer this afternoon to see if we can relaminate the back of the card to mask that the hologram. I'll let you know! Also heading to the laser lab now and will test out a REALLY bright "light" (although I'm not optimistic about optical methods). Thanks so much for your review Sa0shisGhost. Yes, I will try to munch a little on the holos in the future, but this has to be thought of during the card designing stage. I am curious to know how easily can the back of the card be laminated again. The embossing should make this difficult to reproduce.

First, I started by carving the privkey QR code with a pair of scissors and made some strip.  Then, why not, I completely cut off the QR code in two.  And the results are surprising ! This card that's been so badly damaged is still functioning !  |

I totally agree that it should be made more obvious when a flag has been opened against some user.
A simple "#" symbol is cryptic and only veterans of the forum will notice it. Maybe some icon that makes it more obvious to use caution when trading with such persons.
I also believe that displaying flags by default to users that have less than 7 days of logged in time is not enough.
Imo, the time limit should be raised or the display of existing flags should be made more obvious.

Yep.. But the website is gone as well. It still had "10 days left to buy Libra token ICO" yesterday so I guess if the scammers advertised elsewhere than on bitcointalk, some people can fall into that trap. A simple whois on the domain name told me .. it's been anonymized, and there also was the Namecheap abuse email next to that. Tried that, and they suspended the domain name. |

Pas forcément besoin d'être super matheux pour créer un algo de chiffrement qui tienne la route. La plupart des pionniers de la crypto n'étaient pas scientifiques à l'origine. Ca me fait penser au Chiffre de Beale qui n'est d'ailleurs à ce jour toujours pas craqué. Autrement il y'a de fortes chances que le scénario évoqué par BLP finisse par se produire : les technos évoluant, les premières clés seront craquées a un moment ou à un autre. |

Hah. Yeah, well .. I guess this is it. Why not "quote" tientien1's post ?  If this is the one, even if this is technically plagiarism, that is not malevolent, pretty much on the opposite. They copy/pasted a warning from another user regarding their own project. I don't know if there is any kind of tolerance, but in my view this is far away from someone trying to copy/paste in order to increase their post score / farm their account. |

On the ban message, there is an email address where you can write to appeal the ban.
What may have happened is that some text was on an Opporty related website and also posted here by the Opporty bitcointalk account, without a source to the website.
If this is something linked to the project and that originates from the project team, then it's not plagiarism if they copy/paste their own texts.
Plagiarizing is taking work of others and pass it for your own.
Unless we know the exact post that flagged the account for plagiarism, we can't be sure of what happened.

The best for your project would be indeed to back-off for now. Delay it. Rework it. Fix what's wrong. Then when it's okay, try to relaunch ? Fake team members on the website is something unnaceptable, and this is not a detail. I can imagine there is a bazillion things to think when launching such a project, but you will pay the price for every shortcut you take at some point so rather don't take shortcuts, do the work now, go deep down and polish it. |

The problem with this kind of situations where projects starts to raise questions due to inconsistency, is that mistakes on top of other mistakes make people cautious about the project overall. Now, we are at that stage where we need to dig out more and more to make sure the rest is legit, and there isn't much people willing to do so/having the time to do so.

Fais attention car ta cupidité peut te coûter cher. En 2015-16 j'ai un pote qui a attendu que "le bitcoin baisse en dessous de 400€, bah il était à 250€ pendant un moment donc voilà". Il attend toujours. A la limite, prends ta position progressivement, par tranche de 10% et si a un moment ça baisse, tu rachètes pour un peu plus que tes 10%, comme ça tu lisses un peu le prix moyen de ta position vers le bas. ^^ |

Après, c'est assez compliqué de répondre à ça... Parce que dans l'idée, je suis plutôt d'accord sur le fait de ne pas faire confiance aveuglément à un livre "sacré" et de penser par soi-même. Cependant, j'ai un peu de mal avec le fait de se considérer supérieur aux autres pour cette raison.
Après, comme toujours, chacun est libre de penser ce qu'il veut.
J'ai du mal avec les gens suffisants et supérieurs aussi. Oui, c'est plutôt compliqué d'argumenter avec quelqu'un qui dit "d'façon si il dit pas la même chose que moi, c'est parce que je suis supérieur". Se considérer supérieur, même si la situation le justifierait et tout et tout, ça dénote tout de même d'une mentalité. Que ce soit face à des trucs religieux, ou quelque soit la raison, tant que les gens ne font pas de mal à autrui, les gens peuvent faire ce qu'ils veulent. (Répandre de la désinformation et de la propagande est nocif, c'est pour ça que je jette pas l'éponge la dessus.) |
