Am I supposed to care about Taiwan?

Well do you care about Bitcoin? We should be glad to see it accepted in more and more places and displeased when it's restricted.
17542  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How come I can't post?? on: January 06, 2014, 03:40:31 PM

depends on which city even - Berlin starts at 60 eurocents per kg, goes to 2euro per kg for vegan potatoes, peed upon at fullmoon by pink fluffy nightowls.

other cities more expensive - richer and stupider clientele

what about where you live?

acutaly when emigrating, growing patas on Tenerife could be the thing for me!

ever been there?  Grin

here in Hamburg we have these lovely fullmoon-nightowl- peed upon potatoes as well - never gopt to try them tho. prices for the lower potatoe tier seem to be similar here so i can rest in peace knowing i didnt get ripped off at my last potatoe buy.

I love how you guys are discussing potatoes haha.

You wont be saying that when you're burning in hell  Grin.

Lol - why would I go to hell simply for not believing?

It's not logical that a god would give me intelligence then expect me not to use it.   Undecided

(Unless the god is a dick I guess, and enjoys torturing people.)
Wow, so you've clearly never read the old testament. He killed more people in the Bible than Auschwitz. In any other story, God would be a super-villain with the temper of a street thug on crack. Cheesy

Only humans could dream up such a monster. I think we weren’t made in god's image but god was made in ours.
17544  Economy / Economics / Re: If tax calculators are to believed, staying in the UK means getting robbed on: January 06, 2014, 03:34:47 PM
Roll on independence in Scotland.. Fed up of Westminster taxing us.. Bedroom tax is the latest one!!

Saw Cameron on TV with his serious face on the other day urging Scots to vote no on it for the 'sake of Great Britain'. I'm sure they're just going to miss your taxes and don't really care otherwise.

Are you guys kidding?  The SNP is dedicated to higher taxes and they are the Scottish government.

Yes, but then the taxes go to the Scottish people, not Cameron and his Corporate buddies.
17545  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Captain Kirk getting into bitcoin! on: January 06, 2014, 03:29:59 PM
William Shatner is so strange. Everyone on the original series hated him.

Have you listened to some of his albums?  Grin

17547  Other / Off-topic / Re: Schumacher's accident on: January 06, 2014, 03:27:36 PM
I wouldn't of thought he would be out of danger this early on. If the news is accurate then that's great news.

It's not apparently. Somebody was quoted as saying he's out of the danger zone, but apparently it was misinformation.
I thought it was too early to be stating that. Although, I think in the next 1-2 weeks will be critical and hopefully we'll have some good news.

Well, it depends. Some people can come out of comas pretty quickly, and as long as the swelling in the brain goes down and brain activity starts to recover they can announce that the patient is out of danger of death, but obviously it all depends on circumstances.
17548  Economy / Economics / Re: What would happen to the bitcoin price if the FBI take down the biggest sites? on: January 06, 2014, 03:24:44 PM
Blockchain and bitcoins4currency.com are UK, so a think FBI has some power in UK.

It's not the FBI but pressure from Hollywood and the music industry.

17550  Economy / Services / Re: Earn up to 0.4BTC/month just by posting! - Advertise for PrimeDice.com! *Updated on: January 06, 2014, 03:14:47 PM
New giveaway posted. All users enrolled in this months advertising campaign will receive double! https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=401267.0

Nice. Congrats on the milestone.

If you are apart of our signature advertising campaign where we pay you around 20c (0.0002 BTC) per post you make, you will receive 0.002 BTC! You can sign up here if you are not: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=291387.0

Thanks & best of luck!

Edit: Is that right, so we're going to get 0.002 per post now? Wait, my bad, double for PD accounts. lol

I believe he means you will get double the bonus on primedice, not double the amount for the adverts.

Its still a max of 0.4BTC and 0.0002BTC per post. But your primedice account will get 0.002BTC for you to play with.

Figured that, but the way it was announced in here mislead me. Thought we were getting double pay out for posts lol.

Understandable, i read it that way aswell first, then had to read it to get the true meaning.

I'm fairly sure Stunna is gonna reduce the posts after this month.... which will be sad.

Haha, me too. I got a bit excited. I hope an alternative can be found as opposed to changing the deal. I'm sure a workaround can be achieved.
17551  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: hello ~ on: January 06, 2014, 03:09:08 PM
i must write something here, because i want to write post outside "newbie" area, sorry for spam;)

This thread along with the posts will probably get deleted once the mods see it, so it's futile.
17552  Other / Meta / Re: 'Female' spambots on: January 06, 2014, 03:07:57 PM
I don't see the point of spam bots either but good spot op.

I'm sure there must be some point to them less why bother?

Maybe getting their post count up then they are going to sell them?

That, and maybe they'll be used in other ways once they get out of newbie jail. Who knows. Maybe they'll just spam links or PMs after a while.
17553  Other / Meta / Re: Unreasonable Account Banning, Help Please. on: January 06, 2014, 03:03:59 PM
I've been saying that from the beginning, it's because they offer them on pay per post terms.

I honestly think the staff need to seriously think about what they are going to allow. Because, I've seen people with 50 odd activity and 2000-2500 posts. It's getting ridiculous. Before, it wasn't so bad but it seems it's ust getting out of hand I don't know if it's because they have switched to pay per post or not.

We are currently thinking about what needs to be done, we have been discussing it since the latest influx of paid advertising spammers. The question is, do we just get more strict on spammers, or do we go as far as to disallow paid advertising, or even remove signatures.

Hopefully just having more defined rules and being more strict on spammers will be enough, however no one has come to a decision on anything, those are just ideas that are being tossed around.

Well I fall into that category but I don't spam or post rubbish. Obviously there's always going to people who abuse the system and ruin it for everyone else, but if spammers are dealt with appropriately I can't see it being much of a problem. I actually see the most spam/crap and trolling from people who don't even have sig deals.

When I became a Global Mod, the other Global mods were teaching me standard banhammer protocol, we used you for example hilariousandco. You were what we defined as being OK despite the huge post volume.

Aww, well that warms my heart haha. It'd be such a shame for these deals to get banned. As I and others have mentioned, I think policing them and making the rules stricter would cut down spam and I'd be more than happy to help out with that in any way. These deals are a great way for newbs to get a bit of Bitcoin and for those who are willing to put in a bit of extra work can actually get a decent amount of coin. I hope some workaround or compromise can be achieved without an outright ban.
17554  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The last posting from your IP was less than 360 seconds ago on: January 06, 2014, 02:49:17 PM
And when I'm become not Newbie and can post every 60 seconds?
when you complete your 10 posts and 4 hours on this forum its good for newbie and we need to restrict scammers

It's just one post now. 10 posts for signature links though.

Snow is just the worst I don't see any need of getting cold and wet just to see the color white everywhere.

But snow is beautiful and purifies the landscape in glorious blinding white! Well, until it all turns to grey slush and makes everywhere look horrible and decaying  Grin.

17558  Other / Off-topic / Re: Movie Recommendation Station on: January 06, 2014, 02:41:44 PM
i think the film couldn't find any investors, so vin diesel put a lot of his own money into making it. he might not get all of it back

Yeah, Vin himself got the rights to Riddick/the Pitch Black Universe by making another film he wasn't too excited about. From there, they were supposed to shoot it in Montreal at a certain time but one of the producers backing the film financially was apparently involved in some fraud issues... So after a few months, they were finally able to shoot but trust me... They definitely did it as much on the cheap as possible.

I may not have liked the film, but I hope it ends up at least breaking even for both Vin and the studio. The dude's a good fan and loves making projects just 'cause he's a big geek. We need more like him.

Surprised he pushed to make a sequel especially with his own money. Haven’t seen PB since it came out on dvd, but I don't remember it being up to much.
