1881  Economy / Gambling / Re: 1 - The copycat epidemic within crypto casinos. on: August 29, 2022, 08:26:19 AM
Welcome to the forum, it's nice to see a new casino being developed and will use this forum to promote it services for the crypto community. This shows again how popular our forum is for crypto users. You are right that there has been a rise of crypto casinos over the years and the market has become very competitive. There are basically two ways for a new casino to acquire marketshares. The first one is by offering something new that other casinos don't offer, this could be new games, better service or other feature. The second way is by offering better terms than existing casinos. If there are higher bonuses or higher chances of winning for the gamblers than it will attract a lot new customers. In both cases its important to run a marketing campaign to inform potential customers of the advantages of your casino. The forum can play a big role to promote a new website and new gambling games. Good luck with your casino and I hope you will keep us updated on the progress. If you need any help there are a lot of freelance workers offering their services here on the forum, with many already worked in the gambling industry before.
1882  Other / Archival / Re: Why has bitcoin adoption failed in El Salvador? on: August 29, 2022, 06:59:50 AM
I think the biggest problem for El Salvador was the timing when they adopted Bitcoins as their national currency. In September 2021 the world was still in order and everybody believed that Bitcoin will keep rising. Nobody expected a major war in Europe again that would send the world in an inflation spiral and crush world economic growth. The Bitcoin price dropped in the one year 60% which has a huge impact on the value of the national holdings of El Salvador. The government argues that this is only a short term correction and as long as they are not selling the will not realise any loss. The big problem in my opinion is that the government is becoming more harsh in their effort to silence opposition and trying to stop people from speaking out against bitcoins. This is wrong and contradicts the principles of crypto currencies, which try to increase financial freedom and independence, and should not be used against the own citizens. And then there is the IMF who is controlled by USD and will not help El Salvador as long as they use Bitcoin as their national currency. I hope for the Bitcoin project to succeed in El Salvador, but not at any cost. If the civil unrest keeps increasing they might need to find a compromise to give into the protests. Completely abandoning Bitcoins and selling all coins at the current price seems like the worst decision El Salvador could make, it might take another year but eventually the Bitcoin price is going to recover.
1883  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can One Actually Do Crypto Trading As A Living? on: August 28, 2022, 04:29:39 PM
I've heard of many people talk about cryptocurrency and its potentials all the time and at a point I begin to wonder if one can just depend fully on cryptocurrency as a means of livelihood.

It depends on tour experiences in the past and how much capital you have at hand. In case you traded cryptos for a few years, maybe even stocks before that and you made good returns than I would say give it a try. It's very important to know what you get yourself into and if you are able to sustain such a lifestyle. You need to have a decent bankroll to start with, because otherwise your return expectations are unrealistic and you will take too much risk to chance returns. Let's say your yearly fix cost for food, rent and other bills are 10,000 USD. Then you would need to make 20% of 50k USD or 10% of 100,000 USD returns each year before breaking even. Without a decent starting capital it's not realistic in my opinion. Maybe give it a try first to start off part time and rely atleast partially on a second job.
1884  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Common Types of Bonuses Offered by Online Casinos on: August 28, 2022, 04:19:38 PM
I think best types of bonuses are vip bonuses and high roller bonuses. First one rewards the most loyal members/users. This makes people feeling attracted to online casino and increase number of games played.
Other one is great because if you already deposited more money you will bet/play more. In other words giving little to your user can return you more money than what you give as casino.

BIP bonuses are nice for any regular gambler who has a decent bankroll, but for any beginner or people with limited funds there is not much value in them. It's a nice feature of the casino to reward the most loyal customers and it's fun to see in the chat players who have been around for a long time with an extra tag behind their name. The problem I have with these bonuses is that it can create desire for some gamblers to reach these ranks, even if they can't really afford. It becomes serious if people only gamble with the goal to reach the leaderboard, or a certain threshold to get a higher status. In the end there is no best bonus for everybody, our situations are different and we should choose the bonus that makes the most sense for us. Going for the casino with the most valuable bonus for ourselves is a good strategy.
1885  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why Gambling sites don't offer betting on bitcoin price ? on: August 28, 2022, 04:08:43 PM
Why Gambling sites don't offer betting on bitcoin price ?
Like whether bitcoin will go up next hour or go down and stuff like these?

There are some forms of betting on the bitcoin price, eve here on the forum. These are usually predictions games where you can try and guess the bitcoin price at a fixed point in the future, usually the 31. December. The games are mostly setup as raffles and you can't really place multiple bets. But if you only want to bet on the bitcoin price going up or down, why not buy bitcoins directly? There is no need for a casino to do it and you don't have to pay additional fees. If you want more exposure you can buy or sell futures.
1886  Economy / Economics / Re: Have you felt the impact of inflation so far? on: August 28, 2022, 03:55:15 PM
In my country inflation has been rising like crazy for many month now. Everything got more expensive already before the Russia Ukraine war, but companies use it as an excuse now to ramp up prices even higher. In the supermarket was the first place where I felt the higher inflation. I used to buy always the same brands and products and my bill was usually between 25 and 30 Euros, in the last 12 months I never paid less 40 Euros, and this even included buying cheaper brands. The second area I feel the inflation each month is at the gas station. Fuel became so expensive since the Ukraine war. And the other big sector is the utility bills which increased a lot for the advance payments until summer 2023. Hopefully there will be some normalisation in prices until next year.
1887  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin versus Banks on: August 28, 2022, 07:16:41 AM

What are your thoughts about this?

I am not sure what you mean. Are you afraid of the security risk that banks are centralised and have one big server where they store all the information? This might seem risky based on your graphic, but there are backups for all information. It's not like one hacker attack could wipe out all the information and your bank balance is 0. The centralisation of banks comes from the aspect that it has a different ownership structure than crypto currencies. The bank is being owned by it's shareholders, who are liable for their capital they put into the bank. They need to follow laws based on the country they operate in and demand dividends to compensate for the risk they take. This form of ownership also means that there is one person in charge at the top of the hierachy. Whereas in the crypto world the decentralisation aspect means that we will not have one boss who can control everything. Banks and centralisation seem to be a thing from the past where one person held all the power. The future will look different where the power is shared and more people can participate.
1888  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who Would You Likely Sign Up Under In Casinos on: August 28, 2022, 06:20:36 AM

If you are a new player and you would like to sign up to casinos which of the following affiliates you would likely sign up for, vote, and give us your reasons why will you sign up under this kind of affiliates.

I am not a new player anymore and have played on many different casinos in the past already. The first time I used an online casino was around 12 years ago and based on a recommendation from a friend, he told me there are free spins and poker start money to gamble with. It didn't even require a first deposit back in the day and so I got hooked to online gambling. Over the years I switched to new casinos many times and often I found them from review sites. Having a summary of the bonuses for new customers is a huge help to see which  casino to look into more detail. More recently I lost my trust in review sites after reading some reviews which were highlighted by the website as trustworthy but didn't provide correct information. This forum here is a better indicator of a good casino than a random review site on the internet in my opinion. If a casino has been running a successful signature campaign for month on the forum I would give them more credit, than a casino that got some generic reviews online. Especially if there are users here on the forum who have been around for many years and a good trust rating being part of that campaign.
1889  Economy / Economics / Re: Education on: August 27, 2022, 07:50:12 AM
So is always good to invest in once self, than working under someone, which you won't have time for yourself,

Just an advise

Humanity came so far in the last 100 years that the knowledge also increased exponentially. It's nearly impossible for humans to be well educated in many fields today. That is why most schools and universities work with specialisations. The first time I had to choose was between a musical or a art focused education, the second step was a mathematical or literature focused education, and so. Later in university the specialisations became even more when you have to choose one course out of 10 available ones. As it kid it's very hard to know what is really important for life later or what you only take to get easy credits. Now looking back at all the educational systems, I feel like that they all didn't prepare me well for a business area. There should be more courses about managing money and how to become independent in life.
1890  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do real traders care about bear & bull market? on: August 27, 2022, 07:26:12 AM
"Real traders don't care about bear or bull market, during times like this is when real traders survive", he also highlighted that a good day trading strategy can still make you profit this season.

The crypto markets are very volatile at the moment, we are seeing bitcoins change a few percent up or down in a less than a week. This volatility is a good thing for day traders who can take advantage of it. The higher the spread between bid and ask, and the higher the price fluctuations the more opportunities for a trader to make money. But this is only true for the best of the best traders. It's not like that everybody can take use the right trading signals and make a lot of money. The high volatility also means that the risk of losing money is much higher if you take the wrong side of the trade. A trader that uses long and short positions can make a profit in any market environment. It comes down to how profitable you can be. I tried myself day trading a few times in the past and found that the amount of time I need to invest to make a profit is not really worth it. Spending hours each day to try and find an edge for a small profit had a big impact on my normal job and my family life.
1891  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will you be in favor of Gold or Bitcoin !! on: August 27, 2022, 07:05:22 AM
Since the new explorations have uncovered so much gold, that gold will enter circulation and cause a gold inflation. So obviously the price of Gold will go down and its steady but slow rise will not justify investing into gold this year. Not for me, at least.

The USA has waged wars to stop other countries getting richer with their own dug-up gold because the Dollar used to be based on gold and now its based on nothing. So much for that.

Obviously I am not in favor of gold. Bitcoin is king!

1BTC=1BTC

I fully agree with you, there is no real guarantee that gold is going to keep its value long term. The value of gold has been so high for many years now because older generation view it as the only save solution to store value. Eventually these old investors are going to disappear and I am sure their children and grand children will not keep holding all that gold. Eventually all these gold investments are going to be sold and the price will drop. Bitcoin is a much better investment in my opinion. You don't have to worry about storing the gold at home or in a bank vault, or go for synthetic gold which is only guaranteed by the good name of a bank. For me it's all about diversifying my assets and not hold everything I own in one bank. Banks today are bigger than they were in 2008 and if there is another big financial crisis it will hit the average investor the most. Bitcoin is the perfect tool to avoid being dependent on the financial system. I will always choose bitcoins over gold.
1892  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is this the Extreme of Gambling Addiction? on: August 27, 2022, 07:03:03 AM

Having read the story do you think that this could be the extreme or a new dimension of gambling addiction?

I didn't fully understand the article, are these people addicted to gambling and only started stealing to fund their addiction? If so that I don't think this is something new. Just last night I saw an interview on youtube between a casino owner and a gambling addict. He talked about how he stole money from everybody he knew, in his 11 years of addiction before he started a treatment, he ruined every relationship and used all the money he could get his hands on for gambling. In severe cases of addictions it becomes hard to control yourself when you think only about one thing all day. I wouldn't call stealing to fund your gambling addiction as a new form or something extreme, many people have done it in the past. And video gambling machines seem to be a good target if you can get $400,000 with it. It's much more money  than you would get from stealing an ATM. In case the criminals weren't really addicted to gambling than this is a normal robbery.
1893  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Take This 2 Minutes Nine Step Quiz To Access Yourself In Gambling on: August 27, 2022, 06:47:12 AM
Very short and interesting quiz you posted here, but I clearly misunderstood it.  First I thought it is about how you view yourself and the way you take risks in gambling. I would categorise myself as a high risk gambler, except for Dice and Roulette games where I am only taking 50% bets, I try to go for the low chance / high payout gambles. I think that gambling is to go for the big wins, I rather lose a few more times if I one day manage to hit the jackpot.  Making only mediocre wins is not so satisfying as having a good night where u make a few hundred bucks. But the survey seems to access rather how risky you are in terms of becoming addicted to gambling. Almost all of the nine questions are focused on if gambling is a problem in your life or if you can handle your own emotions and remain in control. So personally I think I am a high risk gambler but based on the quiz I am only a moderate risk gambler.
1894  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Common Types of Bonuses Offered by Online Casinos on: August 27, 2022, 06:33:15 AM
You can add some of the other bonuses which I may have missed out which you think are also common. Here is a question for veteran gamblers. Do you check the types of bonuses offered by an online casino before signing up?

Yes of course, I always check out the bonuses before signing up at a new casino. Over the years I played at so many different casinos already that bonuses became the most important thing for me when considering if I am going to play there. Casinos tend to offer the biggest bonuses for new customers, that is why it's so important to do some research before signing up. If two casinos offer a first deposit, one of 100% and the other of 200% then I would always go for the second casino. It's also important to get the maximum out of the first bonus, because it makes a huge difference if we start with double or triple our initial bankroll. So instead of only depositing 50$ to check out the casino I would save up first to deposit directly a few hundred bucks. And it's important to read the terms of the bonus, like how many rounds you need to play to claim it.
1895  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Should Employers Screen Applicants for Problem Gambling Before Employment? on: August 25, 2022, 07:20:32 AM
Yes, just as employers should also carefully screen applicants for other possible mental disorders. There is a reason why potential employees have to go through different levels of neurological and psychological exams before being accepted for a certain job. There is a reason why series of interviews and background checks will have to be conducted on a job candidate. This isn't only for the employer to successfully pick the best person. This is also to keep the company safe and secured.

I remembered there was a huge company in my country that went bankrupt and closed after decades of operation because of an employee who's addicted to gambling.

Having said this, monitoring and screening should be done not just to potential employees but also to current employees.

I understand your concern that companies need to protect themselves as much as possible, but this should always be a trade off against the privacy rights of the employees. Should a company really know everything we do in our free time and that on a continuous basis? What if you go one week per year with your buddies on a man only trip to Las Vegas to have some fun? This could have series consequences if your employer knows it, even if it doesn't affect the work performance at all. In my opinion should all jobs that handle money have atleast one layer of supervision to protect itself from theft. But only targeting gamblers seems a bit excessive, I think there are many thieves who are not gamblers.
1896  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin vs Mutual Funds: Where Should We Invest? on: August 25, 2022, 06:28:34 AM
I don't really like mutual funds anymore and if I had to choose between the two I would only go for bitcoin. The problem with mutual funds is that you have to pay a lot in fees to be invested, usually you pay between 2-5% only to buy that fund and the same fee again when you sell. On top of that you have to pay a yearly management fee of 1-3%, which is even collected when you make a loss. In today's time mutual funds are outdated and too expensive. I still like stocks and would recommend anybody to buy atleast some to have some diversification in their portfolio. Instead of mutual funds I would buy ETFs or pick Single stocks myself. Having a stock portfolio that focuses on dividends gives a nice income each year.
1897  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: A little profit for $17k+ buyers on: August 24, 2022, 02:00:58 PM
Looks like everybody who bought below 20k USD made a good trade. The question is now if you are in it for the long run, or if you are only after the short term profits and will sell again as soon as you make 20-30% profits. Personally I also have been buying this year but using the DCA method. With the high volatility in the market I find it hard to trade at the exact bottom. With DCA I buy every month new coins and still have a decent average price. This also suits better my personal finance situation, because I can only take save only a small amount each month from my salary. I would recommend to hold any coin bought at the cheap levels right now,  atleast until the next ATH.
1898  Economy / Gambling / Re: Casino Game on: August 24, 2022, 01:47:40 PM
Not sure about twitters policies regarding this matter but am certain Facebook does not allow referral links and will not allow you to post the same comment or post multiple times. In my opinion, promoting your referral links on social media platforms doesn't seem like a good idea and will be just a waste of time.
If you want active referrals then better promote your links on gambling related blogs and forums and if possible,  start your own review website.

I agree with you that posting casino referral links randomly on social media is in many cases not allowed and will not bring many active users. The idea behind referral links is bring your friends into gambling and having a chance to participate of their profits to the casino. I would never use a random referral link if I don't know the person or if he didn't do anything for it. Like making a review of the casino, or making a video about a new gambling strategy. In my opinion you will only find active gamblers willing to use your code if the have been interested in the subject before and if you provide some form of services for them, even if it just summarising some gambling news. Creating a new website for gambling is hard work and will require a lot of time, it might be easier to first work on existing platforms.
1899  Economy / Economics / Re: The impact of Russian and Ukrain war on world economy on: August 24, 2022, 01:29:48 PM
There is definitely a negative impact on economic growth all around the world from the Ukraine Russia war. After Russia and Ukraine itself the next countries that are affected the most seems to be the European Union. The cheap energy from Russia was a big growth factor for the countries. Without it there will likely be recessions now. It's also not really clear how long this war is going to last, this could be going on for years and make everything worth. The biggest problem right now is the rising inflation, which everybody says is the fault of the Russia Ukraine war. To me it seems this is an excuse companies use to increase profits. Prices were already rising last year, but since February this year much father. Governments are trying to support people by lowering VAT or giving energy bonuses, which seem to only land in the pockets of the big energy companies. If all companies keep raising prices it will make inflation much worse.

1900  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you play Slots? (long sessions / jumper / focussed) on: August 24, 2022, 08:49:16 AM

Option C : Do you set a target amount for each Slot and then stay with that?

This is probably the closed to my gambling habit when it comes to slot games. I don't like to switch around between different slot games during one session, because I feel like I am missing out on possible winnings. When it comes to slot games I always have the image in my mind of an 80s casino where a person plays for hours on one special slot machine only to get frustrate for not winning and stop playing. When he is about to leave the casinos he hears the bell of someone beating the jackpot and when he turns around he sees another lucky gambler winning all the money he lost with the first try on his slot machine. That is why I always stick to only one slot game during an evening. Most of the time I like to play slots where there is a jackpot or a side quest to it, which rewards you for playing more rounds and even if you lose at the slot game itself you can recover your losses at the end of the session.
