1981  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 270: Ngannou vs Gane | Is Gane a good bet? on: December 30, 2021, 01:36:38 PM
So Ngannou vs Gane is coming up soon and I've been extremely excited for this match-up. The fighting odds right now on most betting sites are pretty even but I'm sure eventually Ngannoug will become a favorite due to his power and people generally like to bet on the champion. I'm planning on putting a pretty sizable bet on Gane though. The guy has unparalleled footwork. No one in the division comes even close to his movement and I believe Ngannou won't be able to connect with much. Especially after watching their sparring footage.

Here's the summary of my thinking:

If i would have to place a bet if would probably go for Gane. After watching the video that you linked i would tend even more towards Gane, as he just seems to have the far superior technique. The think with Ngannou is, that he is just a monster and he can be dominated for a whole fight, but if he managed to tag the opponent with one nice punch then it is definitely lights out and another win for Ngnannou. Miocic managed to avoid getting hit in his first fight against Ngannou and he totally dominated that fight and therefore won very deservedly by points. In their second fight though he got tagged and that was it.
So it's always a pretty risky bet no matter who you are favoring.
1982  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchains with Real Utility that Get Overlooked on: December 30, 2021, 01:30:00 PM
Utility is something that is seriously overlooked by a lot of people in this space. It's understandable that this industry is highly speculative, but there are some blockchains in this space that don’t get the amount of attention they deserve.

I totally agree with you that utility is the most important factor of a crypto project and in general of every project or company. I mean if it provides no utility for the users of the platform or of the products of that platform it has no reason to exist actually. That is also the reason why it really makes me sad that the meme-coin (sh*it-coin) flood just does not seem to stop. I really hoped that it would all be gone after few weeks and months but it still goes on to this very day. It is just to easy to create a new copy and paste shit token.
I still think though that the people are smart enough to distinguish between sh*t-coins that will be dead again in a few weeks and real projects. That is also the reason why in the top 50 there are almost only projects with a utility except for 2 meme-coins.
1983  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What will be the next big industry move? on: December 29, 2021, 07:40:02 PM

Gambling industry is on the move in the last years. Legalisation across Europe and USA has forged new empires, online gaming has received all the positive impacts from COVID confinements and it seems that is going to be plenty of consolidation in the future. What is your personal bet on the next big events in the betting industry?

I don't really see what other things the betting industry could do in addition to that what they are also doing right now. I mean it should be obvious that, as soon as a new sport, or e-sport or any other thing becomes popular out of sudden, then the betting companies should be quick and offer betting on those activities. What i could maybe as the next step that a lot of betting companies could do is to offer their betting services also withing metaverses if those begin to fully come to live in the next few years and months, if they become mainstream at all. That way users of that metaverse could place their bet inside their virtual world.
1984  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why are applications created on Etherium and not on other convenient blockchains on: December 29, 2021, 07:32:55 PM
Hello everyone! In recent years, we have seen a bunch of promising applications and projects that are deployed on different blockchains. But for some reason, more of them are deployed on ether, where there are many problems and obstacles, why build an application where it is expensive and where there are various kinds of obstacles both for developers and for future users. Why don't developers create applications on other blockchains, for example, on the same Near Protocol, which was created for this, where it is easy and cheap to create an application, while with high security? Perhaps this is this kind of crypto stereotype? A stereotype that is waving to implement ideas for many talented developers...

Ethereum is still the technical innovator amongst the blockchain or at least among the blockchains with smart contract functionality. Ethereum are the ones that invented the smart contracts, without that invention the whole crypto market as we know it today with all its possibilities like staking, yield farming, providing liquidity, Defi, NFT would not have been possible without Ethereum. That being said, because of the very high ETH gas fees in the last few months the whole Ethereum ecosystem became pretty much unusable for small fish and normal investors like me for example. That is the reason why a lot of projects switched to BSC for example.

https://edition.cnn.com/2021/12/28/sport/kylian-mbappe-psg-ctw-spt-intl/index.html

Considering the CNN's news, PSG forward Kylian Mbappe is not leaving the team in January for sure. It looks like he said that he wanted to stay at PSG until the end of the season at least. And I guess that PSG will try to do everything they can to convince him to stay for at least one more year in this period of time. However, I don't think that Mbappe has an intention in this way. He just doesn't want to leave his team in the lurch now, that's all.

I mean it was pretty obvious that he won't leave PSG in the winter. He has a market value of 160 M€ so even though his contract runs out in 6 months clubs that would want to sign him now would have to pay at least 100 M€ i would guess and this just to have him 6 months earlier because in july he is a free agent and there is no transfer fee needed. So that would be 100 M€ literally thrown out of the window for almost nothing. Also it seems now, that Mbappe wants to join Real Madrid and not one of the big english clubs and i doubt that Real could even pay a transfer fee of 100 M€ because their debts are so high.
1986  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best coin to farm right now on: December 29, 2021, 12:00:54 PM
In the past couple of years back we are not familiar with the term cryptocurrency farming not until the development of defi projects that see to the introduction of yield farming and since then many investors have dived in just to make some good profits from this new invention.
But to choose the right coin to farm is another vital aspect of it, so am kind of thinking to go into farming but my concussion is in choosing the coin to farm at the moment that will guarantee speedy profits.

Regarding yield farming and/or staking of your crypto assets there are almost endless possibilities now. So you have to choose for yourself want you want to do or how much risk you are willing to take. You can go for staking BTC or stable coins (here i would probably go for staking USDC and not USDT because you can never know what happens to USDT) but in most cases you will only get relatively low APY here of around 3 to 5%. If you stake smaller cap coins or just altcoins in generall then you can achieve APY's of 50% or even waaaaay more but there i would be cautious because such high APYs are usually not sustainable because the sell pressure becomes to high.
1987  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: December 28, 2021, 06:03:10 PM
More and more rumors starting to spread that are linking Arsenal with Coutinho. I rejected it at first because it didn't really make any sense for me but it looks there is substance to the story after all.

I really don't know where do they plan to play him and how much are they willing to pay for him, it looks like exactly the type of transfer that cost them a lot in the past and that they stopped making in the last 2 years.
Barcelona is obviously looking to get rid of him, he isn't even playing with all their injuries and problems because if he plays a few more games they will have to pay another installment of the transfer to Liverpool. Good thing for Arsenal is that they cannot ask for any kind of significant money.

This is a rumor about a transfer that would really make sense for all the parties that are involved to me. Barcelona has debts of more than 1.35 Billion € and they desperately need to save money in order to get at least close to a somewhere stable financial situation again and Coutinho is one of the players with the highest salary as far as i know. Coutinho himself has a pretty unlucky time at Barcelona and would probably pretty happy if he could play in the english premier league again where he basically had his best and most successful time. And arsenal could sign a player that has still the potential to be one of the top players world wide if he feels supported and welcome for a relatively low transfer fee.
1988  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will competitors defeat ETH due to ever-increasing gas fees? on: December 28, 2021, 05:56:52 PM
Developers are rolling network upgrades, yet gas fees on ETH remain the same. It's very expensive to perform transactions on the Ethereum blockchain compared to other competing chains. The ETH 2.0 upgrade will alleviate the situation but developers keep delaying the same. People are getting sick and tired of ETH's "stalling" as fees continue to rise like there's no tomorrow. If I'm not mistaken, developers will delay the difficulty bomb again (by December) in order to prolong the PoW blockchain. The longer it takes for fees to decline on ETH, the bigger its competitors will grow.

Do you think competitors will defeat ETH due to ever-increasing gas fees? If not, why? Are constant delays a result of miners' opposition against reducing gas fees on the blockchain? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Smiley

Yeah the recent situation of ETH and it's gas fees is really extremely annoying i have a few tokens that i would like to stake or to claim but i am only a small fish and those tokens are worth only a few hundred bucks each and to claim, to transfer and to stake them, i would need more than 100$ worth of fee at the moment and that is just a joke. Once they are staked i also need to pay a lot of gas fees each and every time i want to claim rewards so ETH really needs to do something in the near future (hopefully in 2022) in order to get the ETH fees down again into a useful region where everyone can use the ETH network as it is intended to be used.
1989  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: December 28, 2021, 11:37:34 AM
Bayern Munich, as always, continues in the leading position in the Bundesliga. In 17 games, they only got 1 draw and 2 losses. They had 14 wins.  I love the Bundesliga. I love the passion of the fans for their teams. But instead of Bayern Munich dominating the league alone, I would like them to compete for the title with a good opponent. I thought they were going to have a tight rivalry with Dortmund this year. Dortmund were 9 points behind Bayern as they experienced unexpected points loss. I'm sure Bayern will pass almost unscathed after halftime.

True, now that Bayern has already 9 points more than Dortmund on the second place it really looks like it will be another pretty uncontested Bundesliga title for Bayern except some completely unforeseen and crazy stuff happens. Of course it is not really the best thing for the League itself if the champion is the same 10 years in a row but that is not Bayern Munichs fault. Bayern acted very carefully and clever with in regards to their financials for a few decades now and that is why they are in such a healthy financial situation and why they have the best squad by far in the league and even one of the best squads in the world, even though they have no sheikh or oligarch investors like the English clubs and PSG.
1990  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are your altcoin predictions for the new year 2022 on: December 28, 2021, 11:32:09 AM
2021 is almost over and attention is gradually shifting to 2022 and most investors are already on the look for the next altcoin for profitable interest in 2022 lots of them are now going into metaverse and others rely on NFTs for 2022.

I just hope for an overall stable market. Sadly ETH dropped below 4000 $ again today, so my personal wish would be that ETH stabilizes above 4000$ first for some weeks and then the smaller altcoins can begin to rise again too i hope, because my portfolio mainly consists of small cap projects which took a heavy hit in the recent months. Regarding Metaverse and NFT, i think that we are pretty late already in that hype so i would not throw money at every Metaverse project that is launched now because there are already a lot of them out there now like it is with every hype. As soon as something is successful a lot of people try to copy that.
1991  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: December 28, 2021, 01:22:10 AM
Real Madrid are really close to be able to sign PSG centre-forward Kylian Mbappe by only offering a contract to him. PSG still haven't managed to extend his contract for at least one more year to at least prevent him from leaving without a transfer fee. However, this news source claims that Real Madrid will not make an offer right away. They will wait for March. After their matchup against PSG, they are likely to finish this deal.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-10345151/Kylian-Mbappes-PSG-future-set-decided-Champions-League-tie-Real-Madrid.html

If they can get a player like Mbappe without having to pay any transfer fee than they surely have to act and try to get him even though they probably have to pay him 30+ million € per year as salary + some bribing money for their agents. If they go for Mbappe and really go all out for him in terms of salary then i just can not imagine, that they will also try to get Haaland because that is just to expensive and Real Madrid already has 900 million € of debts so they are in a bad financial situation already at the moment. So they need to get rid of other expensive players that have a huge salary first like for example Gareth Bale.

Is Musk the boss behind SHIB?
Is there an advantage in the future? I am optimistic that SHIB's performance is as good as DOGE  Smiley
Can someone explain, thank you Kiss

I am sure he is not the boss behind Shiba Inu and i am also sure that he is not investing in any of those second generation meme-coins himself. It is true, that he basically started the dogecoin rally by himself with his tweets that he made a few months ago now. This also means that it is basically his fault that we now have to deal with all those useless shit-coins (which all meme-coins are) that are created each and everyday on every chain out there just in order to make some quick money. Shiba Inu is by far the most successful of those second generation meme-coins and will probably still be around in a few years, but no Elon Musk is not the boss behind it but someone that wanted to make some quick money with little effort.
1993  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: December 27, 2021, 03:09:36 PM
Lewis Hamilton has deleted all his followers on twitter, I read. It also appears that he is considering quitting F1 and making a career switch. Perhaps that man no longer has a challenge. If Hamilton steps, who is going to stop Verstappen from becoming a wealthy champion? There is absolutely no one who can come close to those 2, on any track.

I wouldn't say that. Just because Hamilton had by far the best car in the last 5 or 6 years and therefore won 6 out of 7 possible championships in a row does not mean that he is also the most talented driver out there. The car is just the most important factor. I think that Verstappen has at least as much talent as Hamilton in terms of speed, maybe Hamilton is a little bit more consistent. Also i don't think that we can say that Hamilton and Verstappen have more talent than for example Vettel, Leclerc, Russel, Norris, Ocon, Gasly or Mick Schumacher. We wold need to see them all in the same car for a season then we would know, but that won't happen.
1994  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Your opinion, NFT last long or not ? on: December 27, 2021, 03:04:32 PM
Decentralized finance (DeFi), Web 3.0, financial inclusion, the rise of non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
Axie Infinity success, Will the others be successful too?

https://www.bbc.com/news/technology-56371912.amp

Well i would say the same thing happens to NFT's at the moment that is happening to every trend or hype topic in the crypto space. As soon as something is successful people are trying to jump on the hype train as fast as possible and with as little effort as possible and this of course leads to a flood of NFT's of which 95% are useless and even look crappy. That is why the NFT's are going down in value at the moment there is just way to much supply in the moment for the market demand. I still think though that NFT's are here to stay and if great artists or projects are releasing NFT's with a use case or with great art style then they will still be valuable.

1996  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: December 26, 2021, 04:13:27 PM
Law from The Telegraph (a fairly legitimate source) is claiming that Rudiger has already agreed terms for his summer move to Real. It is a move that was expected and it seems it's all but confirmed now.

Real needed another centerback and they got a good one on a free transfer, meaning they won't have to spend in a situation where they are saving all of their money for the Mbappe deal.

Chelsea on the other hand will be losing their key defensive player and will for sure have to strengthen in the summer.

Hmm there were also strong rumors that Rüdiger would join Bayern Munich after this season, let's see if the source is right in the end. Maybe he just wanted to join Real Madrid more than Bayern Munich who knows, or Real offered him a higher salary, which i can imagine, even though Real has 900 Million € of debts, but everyone knows that they don't really care about money there, they just keep on throwing it out of the window it seems  Roll Eyes. If they want to sign Mbappe then they need to offer him at least 30M€ of salary per year i would guess + all that bribing money for his agent. If Real is signing Mbappe + Haaland (at last 75 M€ transfer fee + a very high salary) after this season, even though they have almost 1 Billion € of debts, then i lose the last bit of faith that i have in football.
1997  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: To the Moon: Shitcoins are Ponzi Schemes on: December 26, 2021, 04:05:39 PM
According to Investopedia, "The term shitcoin refers to a cryptocurrency with little to no value or a digital currency that has no immediate, discernible purpose."  They are characterized by short-term price increases followed by nosedives caused by investors who want to capitalize on short-term gains. On the other hand, "A Ponzi scheme is an investment fraud that pays existing investors with funds collected from new investors. Ponzi scheme organizers often promise to invest your money and generate high returns with little or no risk."- Investor.gov. In my opinion, shitcoins are ponzi schemes, they have no goals, no direction nothing other than to rip-off folks who buy invest in  it  and hope that they're gonna make it big overnight not knowing that the odds are against them. I might be wrong but this is just what I think. Do share with me your thoughts. Thank you.

https://www.investopedia.com/terms/s/shitcoin.asp
https://www.investor.gov/protect-your-investments/fraud/types-fraud/ponzi-scheme

Well i would say per definition shit-coins and ponzi schemes are different things. A shit-coin, so basically every meme-coin that is out there, is an absolutely useless token that is created by a "team" with almost zero effort in order to make money, but i would say that most people know that shit-coins are exactly that and only throw in a little money maybe in the hopes for a fast pump to sell them again quickly. No one, at least i hope that, would invest a significant amount of money into a shit-coin (meme-coin). A Ponzi scheme on the other hand is a project that may look very serious and professional on the first glance but that's only a trick in order to trick people into investing their life-savings into it.
1998  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: December 26, 2021, 12:28:30 PM

I totally agree that league matches are quite competitive and interesting at times, but the fact that Bayern always win the title at the end is annoying fans because we all want to see some other team win the league title.

Furthermore till Lewandowski is playing for Bayern I don’t think any team will be able to dethrone them, but once he leaves a opportunity will definitely open up, and let’s hope then one of the teams grab the opportunity and wins the league title.

I am quite sure that Bayern would still be the by far biggest favorite for the Bundesliga title and also one of the top candidates to win the Champions League even if Lewandowski would leave the club now. His back up player at the moment is Choupo-Moting who is also a great striker and always performs great when he has a chance to play. Also if Lewandowski would leave the club now, they would buy a proper replacement for him too. Bayern had to play a few games now without Kimmich and Goretzka and they still one and i would say that missing both of the midfield strategists at the same time is more severe than missing 1 striker.
1999  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Introducing Santa Floki Official on: December 26, 2021, 12:10:25 PM
Santa Floki aims to become the most relevant project on BSC this holiday season

A crypto token that was established by dedicated investors and avid fans of meme projects.

So you just created a token that is named after the Dog of Elon Musk in the hope that he would make a tweet on christmas that shows his dog. Wow, what a great use-case and what a great reason to launch a crypto project. The tweet that Elon Musk made was not about your token it was juts about his dog, but i have to admit hat was a clever plan, that you have pulled of there, because a few people might think that he really tweeted about your coin. So i guess congratz to the team of this "project" that you already made a lot of money with it and i also feel very bad for the people that buy this token now and lose a lot of money with it.
2000  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: December 25, 2021, 03:19:10 PM
A good time for him to leave Manchester United.
Playing for Real Madrid is the best and next option for him, a dream.
Real Madrid deserves a player like Paul since all of the midfielder's are going deep to there late 30's.

Good time for what? Pogba is between the bench and the fan's sheats, he isn't playing at all. Why does Real give such an amount (I'm more than sure that Raiola won't let him go for free) for a player that has constant issues with injuries? They could get two instead of one midfielder with the money that will pay for Pogba, and I doubt that will help them the same.

I still remember when he left Juventus for Manchester United more than 5 years ago. The transfer fee back then was 105 M€ which was a huge number at that time and is still one of the highest transfer fees ever paid. Sadly he could never really shine at Manchester and he only had some good phases which did not last very long. He just seems to be one of those players that needs to feel completely comfortable in a club in order to perform on his highest level. He needs to feel the full trust and support of the club officials, the coach and also the fans. So i don't think that Real Madrid would be a good club for him. The poeple are there are not very patient.
