1141  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Eth could take over BTC or not on: August 07, 2022, 05:05:26 PM
With PoS coming and Gas fee finally getting fixed do you think that Ethereum is capable of overtaking bitcoin? Oh also there will be max supply for Ethereum finally too, or is this expectation of mine way too high.

Well at the moment the marketcap of Bitcoin is "only" a little more than twice the amount of the marketcap of Ethereum, so i don't see a reason why Ethereum should not be able to get the top position from Bitcoin sometime in the not so distant future. That being said, i still think that it won't happen in the next 1 or 2 years and also that it won't happen automatically. Even in this forum there are still a lot of Bitcoin hardcore fans that are saying that every coin besides bitcoin is a sh*itcoin but i think those people slowly but surely become less. If we just take a look at the functionality then of course Ethereum is already king.
1142  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Token question and ownership on: August 06, 2022, 09:30:54 PM
I am new to crypto and was hoping someone could help.
I understand that with stocks you are getting ownership and future cash flow of a public company, bonds your providing a loan and getting paid back with interest and real estate your getting rents and appreciation.
What are you getting with tokens like etherium, algorand, polkadot?  There are no cash flows, ownership stakes, or interest.  There are no earnings reports or how successful the software is.  If there is nothing backing these tokens, I fail to see what value they have?

Well in the end it all comes down to general principle that is the driving force of every good or asset that can be bought and sold: supply and demand. If you buy traditional stocks you also don't always get a dividend as there are a lot of companies out there that are not paying dividends to their shareholders. You buy those shares simply because you think that they have a pretty high chance that they will be more valuable in the future than they are now when you buy them. This means you can sell them for a higher price than you have paid, which means you make a profit.
In addition to that a lot of tokens and coins can be staked in order to generate additional income in the form of interest.
1143  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: August 06, 2022, 07:07:37 PM
This match between Dortmund and Leverkusen has just started, and I am eager to see how Dortmund performs. They just let their most valuable player go, Erling Haaland. I would like to see how they manage without him.

Dortmund managed to get a good start into this Bundesliga season as they managed to beat Leverkusen with 1-0 today. I watched the game and i have to say that in the first half Dortmund definitely was the better team and also deserved to score the first goal. In the second half Leverkusen was by far the better team though in my opinion. Schick alone had like 2 or 3 very big chances but he was not able to make anyone of those count sadly. Also the goalkeeper of Dortmund Kobel showed some great saves today. So overall i would say that a draw would be the right result for this game so Dortmund was pretty lucky to win this one.
1144  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: August 06, 2022, 04:07:25 PM
As allways a lot of goals in the first halfs of the bundesliga first round some interesting results so far i did not expect  werder bremen to take the lead in their away game against wolfsburg i think a draw is more fair but wolfsburg team are having difficulties creating chances in the second half, things are not looking good for them with 25 minutes to go in this match.

In the end Wolfsburg still managed to score the equalizer and i think that was an extremely important goal for Wolfsburg. They have a new and pretty well known coach with Nico Kovac who is also one of the best earning coaches in the Bundesliga now and i think it would be a very bad start for him if they would have lost their first match against a team that was in the second Bundesliga last year. Now they at least achieved a draw which is also not that great but at least not a total disaster.
Also Freiburg had a great start into the league again with a convincing 4-0 victory over Augsburg. I am happy for Freiburg as i think it is a very likeable team with a great coach.
1145  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Centralized Exchange And Decentralized Exchange on: August 06, 2022, 04:04:48 PM
Good evening Ladies and Gentle,
As an emerging cryptocurrency, which platform is the best to list on for the benefit of both developers and investors?

I think there was a huge change regarding new crypto projects and their availability after launch. I still remember back in 2018 and 2019 and before of course, that new crypto projects had to pay really big amounts of money in order to get listed on "good" exchanges like Binance, Huobi, Kucoin and so on. So those big exchanges really had a lot of power back in the day. Once the whole Defi trend started and the first real Dexes like Uniswap and pancakeswap were created this all changed. Now all that a new projects needs to do is provide liquidity for their trading pair so they "only" need to have a reasonable amount of stable coins or ETH or BNB to pair it with their native token in order to be listed.
1146  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: August 05, 2022, 08:48:13 PM
Bayern Munich is trying to tell us that we should not expect any competition in Bundesliga this season. It is not an impressive result.  6 goals to 1 in the first game. It looks like the Bayern boys are so much prepared as everybody is scoring goals for the club. There is no Haaland, who will fight for other Bundesliga clubs?

It was definitely a pretty strong statement from Bayern Munich today. No one really knows how good the teams really are until the first few real matches have been played, but today Bayern made clear that they probably have the strongest squad since at least 5 years even though they don't have Lewandowski anymore. Instead they have now a lot of positions where they have 2 or even 3 very good players.
I don't really think that it would be such a big difference if Haaland would still be in Dortmund. In the end he is just one player and that is just not enough to compete against a team that has a stronger squad in all of the other 10 positions.
It was only the first goal though and i think Bayern still is a little bit unstable in the defense.
1147  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: August 05, 2022, 03:16:17 PM
At the moment, the presentation of Robert Lewandowski is taking place in Barcelona, and tonight we will see how Bayern Munich will do without this player. The duel between the German champion and the winner of the Europa League promises to be very interesting. Eintracht Frankfurt is quite an unpredictable team, but I bet on the victory of the Bavarians.

So does this mean that Barcelona was finally able to register Lewandowski as their player? They probably had to sell shares of their property again in order to be able to do that. I think for Bayern it was a very good deal. Yes of course Lewandowski is probably the best central striker at the moment but he was already 33 years old when they sold him and he only had 1 more year of contract. To get 45 Million for him under this conditions is a very good deal.
I personally think that Bayern is even stronger than last season. The match against Leipzig last week was a good indicator for that. Bayern is again very strong in the offense but they still need to improve their defense, but i think once De Ligt is fully integrated Bayern should be doing well there too.
1148  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think metaverse have a place in the world on: August 05, 2022, 03:12:04 PM
Do you think that Metaverse will actually work out in the future? I am one of the very few that believes that Metaverse won't be successful because what the world cares about the most is the most needy, I asked myself if metaverse is really needy and I can't seem to find an answer, what about you?/

I think that with the metaverse it will probably be the same as with any crypto trends or in general with trends and hypes. First a new project appears that is doing something new and people and also institutions find this idea really interesting and therefore the valuation of this projects is rising like crazy. This of course is the reason why a lot of other people also want to come out with a project of the same type in order to hop on the hype train and also earn a lot of money. This happens until the market is over saturated and then 95% of those new projects are dying again.
That being said, i believe that the metaverse has a future. Maybe it will not be THE BIGGEST trend of the next decade but it will still be relevant i think.

Hot hours for Kostic. According to rumors, Juventus is pushing hard and want to pass the West Ham offer to the player. Kostic also wants to join Juventus.
Can be a deal done in hours-day.

Hmm weird. I watched the first round of the german cup this monday and there everyone said that Kostic will most likely stay in Frankfurt if nothing completely crazy, like a very high offer for him, will happen anymore. They also said that he will be one of the top earners of Frankfurt if he accects their offer to prolong his contract.
I personally think, that he should stay at Frankfurt. The fans love him there, he has won the Europa League with them and they can now even play Champions League this season. There are so many examples of players moving to another club and not really playing a important role there.

1150  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why is Solana still a thing? on: August 04, 2022, 11:06:52 PM
Solana goes completely against the idea that cryptocurrency must be decantralised. It's possibly the most centralised "mainstream" altcoin with a shady team that has historically lied about not only the fundamentals of the project like the circulating supply, but the shady members of the team have also been caught for fraud.

Hmm. So far i only heard negative stuff about Solana because of all the hacks that have occurred. There even was another one very recently like yesterday or so where again millions of dollars where stolen from users. I was always wondering that the price of Solana was not really reacting when such news about hacks were appearing and always remained relatively stable.
I have never really heard accusations that the team behind the project is shady or that the project itself is centralized or that they have even lied about important stuff. I alwys wanted to buy a handful of SOL once or if the price will drop below 30$, but reading your post i have to do a little more research i guess.
1151  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [DOTA2] PGL Arlington Major 2022 Prediction Thread on: August 04, 2022, 12:28:37 PM
Against the background of problems for many players with visas, which is natural in the current situation, it may be worth paying attention to the teams from China who for the first time had the opportunity to perform at the PGL Arlington Major 2022.

I also think that the chinese Teams are the big favorites to win this major. A week ago or so the Riyadh masters where happening which was not a major but a invitational tournament with a 4 Million $ price pool and there the chinese teams PSG.LGD and RNG have competed against the other regions again after a few months of being limited to compete against teams of their own region and PSG.LGD won that tournament, which is a clear sign of strength and a big statement in my opinion.
PSG.LGD is already qualified for the TI though and the price money in this major is not that high so maybe they don't go all in already because they want to save some tricks for TI, so other teams like OG could also have a chance to win this one.
1152  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Solana is being attacked right now. The attack is on going. Beware! on: August 04, 2022, 12:23:57 PM
Just hours ago, Solana is being attacked. As of this posting, the attack hasn't ended yet. So far, the stolen amount has already exceeded $6 million.
It is advised for users to start "unlinking browser-based Solana wallets from all internet sites, and moving funds to a new clean wallet." And this is urgent.

I don't own any Solana myself because i missed the opportunity to buy a year ago or so when it was still below 10 $ per coin, therefore i don't follow the developments and news around Solana not that closely and still this is already the 5th or 6th hack of something solana related or something that was built upon Solana that i heard of in the last few months. I am actually surprised that the price of Solana is not really reacting that much when such events are happening. Today Solana is down a few percents more than the rest of the market but still nothing dramatic in my opinion. Of course it is very dramatic for everyone involved in the hack.
If i can get Solana for below 30$ i will probably buy a few.
1153  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 03, 2022, 11:22:48 PM
It is true that Barcelona is in financial trouble. But still they are spending a huge amount of money to recruit star players. It is not yet clear how their funds are coming. But I heard they are raising funds through they sell their shares. Joan Laporta has yet to say anything to the media about how he is raising such a large fund. But Barcelona is forced to cut player wages, yet I don't understand why they are wasting money by adding extra players to the squad.

As far as i know Barcelona has sold TV rights, a share of their merchandise brand, and recently also their own TV channel Barca TV. For all those assets combined they got around 600 Million € if the reports are true, which sounds like a huge amount of money at first glance, but Barca had 1,3 Billion € of debts which means they would still have 700 Million of debts if they would have used all of that 600 Million to pay back their creditors.
Of course Barca is not using that money to pay back their debts, they just keep on buying new players which is absolutely crazy to me. They had to sell their TV channel this week because otherwise they would not have even be able to register their new players Kounde and Lewandowski and they still keep on buying players. Absolutely crazy and irresponsible.
1154  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to take profits? on: August 03, 2022, 11:17:50 PM
I am mostly a hodler no matter the market going down or up. But sometimes I get the advice to take some profits.
Example: my investment of 300 euro becomes 500 euro. Is it better to take out my initial investment or only take the profit ? And reinvest that profit ?
How do you guys do this ?
I just feel like i'm missing potential profits by not selling and seeing my potential profits go up and down.

I am a notorious hodler too, which also has to do with the tax laws regarding crypto investments here in my country, because you have to pay taxes on profits that you have made while trading cryptos except if you were hodling the tokens or coins for more than 1 year then you don't have to pay taxes. That is why i hold the coins at least 1 year.
It is definitely true that you can make way higher profits if you are an active trader in comparison to someone that is just hodling but of course every trade that you are making also means that you can make a mistake. This means not only the potential profit is way higher when you are a day trader but also the chances that you lose all your money are way higher.
1155  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 03, 2022, 02:00:44 PM
I don't see any way for Frenkie de Jong to sign for Manchester United at this very moment. Because he is clearly wishing to play in the Champions League and Manchester United can't give this to him this season obviously. Manchester United's problematic season has cost them really much in the transfer window also. Erik ten Hag's existence might be seen as an advantage for them but I don't think that it will still be enough. Frenkie de Jong would agree terms with only a team that is competing in the Champions League in my opinion.

Even though i think that Manchester United is not a top address in European football anymore since a few years it could still be a good decision for De Jong to go their in my opinion. First of all Barcelona has such big financial problems that they had to sell another part of their TV rights just in order to be able to register Lewandowski and Kounde. As far as i know De Jong already waived salary in the last season so Barca could still be operational and now in the coming season he is supposed to get that salary on top, that is why Barca wants him to leave or that he is waiving salary again, which is a very shady move of Barca in my opinion.
At Manchester United he could at least be sure that he gets his money and maybe he can play in the Champions League next season.
1156  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can some AltCoins pump during bear markets ? on: August 03, 2022, 01:56:48 PM
Can AltCoins go against the larger trend and actually pump nicely during a bear market ? I know there was a bit of a pump in 2019, so I don't know.. but right now I'm seeing Gods Unchained, Ox and a few other coins pump even if Bitcoin's Market dominance is still well over 42 %. Lets not also forget the market is still in a downtrend headed for lower lows at the moment. So would there be any point in trying to FOMO into altcoins pumping ?
I personally exited the market almost entirely, plan to re enter when Bitcoin hits 15K or even lower. Then again I've noticed some alts coming desperately close to the negative 98% mark... you have to wonder how much lower can they go

Of course it is always possible that a certain project is pumping even though the whole crypto market in general is going down or is in a bear market. If a project is reaching an important milestone in development or suddenly gets a lot of attention from the public or whatever than it will still pump even if the whole market is not really that positive. Obviously it is very hard to find those few projects that may pump during a bear market before they are pumping because obviously the pump is starting as soon as the first news or rumors are spreading. During a bull market almost every projects pumps so you can not do too much wrong there.
1157  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 02, 2022, 07:05:32 PM
Ambitions in the transfer market this season have not stopped, it is reported that they will bring Silva to Camp Nou.

I don't think that there is any chance that Bernardo Silva will leave Manchester City for Barcelona and there are several reasons for that. First of all he is a very important player for Pep Guardiola and Manchester City and it would be a big loss for City if they would have to let him go. He also still has a contract until 2025 so Manchester City really had no hurry here.

Also i am very surprised or maybe even shocked that Barcelona is still trying to sign new players. They are just absolutely crazy in my opinion. A few days ago they had to sell 25% of their Barca Studios to socios.com for 100 M€, because they needed that money to be able to register their new players Lewandowski and Kounde because Barcelona still has a huge amount of debts. And still they want to continue to sign new players, which is just absolutely crazy and also not responsible.
I think they need to hire someone from Germany or Scandinavia that shows them how to handle money in a responsible way, because otherwise they just keep spending money until the whole club is done.
1158  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: So we've gone from 1 meme coin to one hundred now ? on: August 02, 2022, 06:55:55 PM
Not just shiba, but there's a dozen different others I think.

A months ago during the peak of the meme-coin hype there were at least 100 meme-coins created each and every day, which was absolutely crazy. Most of those tokens were created on the BSC network of course because the network fees there are just way lower compared to the ones on Ethereum and most people that created meme-coins only had one reason why they did that. They wanted to make quick and dirty money without any effort. Of course now more than 99% of those meme-coins are already dead again which is a good thing for the whole crypto market in my opinion because now investors can focus again on real projects.
1159  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: August 02, 2022, 07:29:17 AM
No matter what Ferrari does, it can't get what it wants. They think they didn't make a strategic mistake. Leclerc was quite fast on the medium compound. This may be true, but even though they knew the importance of tire selection, they would have lost the race by choosing a hard tire, and it was. Ferrari is doing its best for Max Verstappen to win the title. After the wrong tire selection, the deficiencies in the vehicle performance were also noticeable. If we look at the result, Max Verstappen is at the top with 80 points.

Yeah for me it is almost certain now that Verstappen will be the champion in this season too. Ferrari is just making way to many mistakes. You can not win a championship that way. Even though Mercedes made some impressive progress in the last few weeks, Ferrari is still a way ahead of them but they just don't manage to make that count in the race somehow.
I don't want to bash Ferrari to hard though. I mean just compare their performance this season with the one from last year. Now they have a competitive car again finally. Of course if you are risking a lot during the development of a new car you can not have such a high reliability. They really should try to stop doing those tactical mistakes though.
1160  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is helping to eradicate poverty in poor countries on: August 02, 2022, 07:23:44 AM
I came across a post on how bitcoin is and can  really help in financial inclusion especially in poors, especially in poor countries where averege income is as low as 30 dollar a month.
I think we need to focus on educating people on crypto. Once educated people will embrace crypto with open arms.
https://news.electroneum.com/cryptocurrency-can-help-empower-the-billions-of-unbanked-and-living-in-poverty-find-out-what-electroneum-is-already-doing

Well i have to say i read through the article and in the end i think it was just a promotional piece for Electroneum, which is probably the project where the OP is heavily invested in or even part of the team. I still remember back in 2017 or 2018 when Electroneum was about to launch that there was a huge hype around it because back then it was the first cryptocurrency that could be mined with your smartphone. I just checked the starts for electroneum now and it seems that this project is slowly but surely losing relevance and is going down in the coinmarketcap ranking.
For me it is always a sad thing if a project has to experience that.
