2001  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo vs Golovkin 3 - September 17 on: September 15, 2022, 02:20:25 PM

Yes, it's obvious that there is a language barrier for GGG, but in any case, he just expressed his appreciation to those who went and watch their face-off. I still remember Osar Dela Hoya being the face of Mexican boxing for many years and Sept is his fighting month, now it's Canelo Alvarez turn.
That's why it's necessary that Canelo will win this fight so he will continue to represent the Mexicans.

And Canelo is still a huge favorite, no surprises here, but hopefully GGG will give us a want we wanted to see. And I agree about the call to the judges to be fair just in case this fight is going to end in their hands.
The age gap and the standing are the basis why Canelo is still the favorite, also, he won the last fight so it's no surprise that he is listed as the favorite, what I'm surprised with is that he is a huge heavy favorite.
He can continue to rep the Mexicans though even if he losses this fight. And he has a lot of fans around the world, not just Mexicans so again, he will have a lot of support same with Golovkin.

Yes, it's true that he is the favorite even if Bivol beat him is because of the age gap. Golovkin is 40 years old and there could be sign that he is already slowing down. On the other hand, Canelo at the peak of this career and they are fighting at this weight class.
2002  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Fernando Martinez vs Jerwin Ancajas rematch - Oct.8 on: September 15, 2022, 01:58:40 PM
Regarding the weight issues, yes it is difficult to maintain it, specially if your body is growing and can't adapt to your supposedly weight categories. That's why there are different type of weight classes, so that boxer can fit where they height and body will go. Then go up another notch like what Manny did during his prime and beating large fighters. So for Jerwn, and it the news is true that he can't make the weight properly then it will be a very dangerous fight for him and most likely he might lost again. But if his team are good at working with him round the clock to check how his body is losing that weight, and not body mass, and then still retain his power at absolute peak prior to the fight then they do a good job and most likely Ancajas will have his revenge.
We make it a big issue and yet Ancajas can still make it to the weight requirement. I think what Ancajas has to focus is to improve his stamina, it's not the weight that is the problem but his Ancajas because if he gets tired easily, he will lose his power in the later rounds, and that's what happened in their first meeting.
Maybe it's because of him really trying to lose that extra weight that why he became tired easily in this fight? Boxers really complained that if the weight is their issue, then most likely it will affect their performances.

But then again, they've seen what the problems are in the first fight, and should do the right corrective actions whether it was really the weight or Ancajas getting tired, or if he is overtrain. They have the tapes to review and make the necessary adjustment in order to win in this rematch.
2003  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 15, 2022, 11:10:59 AM
......they started good in the first 10-20 games if I'm not mistaken, but as soon as Davis get's injured, the Lakers suffers and they can't recover in time to make the playoffs. For Caruso's case I think it's more of the salary offer and it Alex is not satisfied that's why he chooses to go to the Bulls with good offer.

That 10-20 games, Lakers are not anymore consistent, thanks to Westbrook though.  Smiley
We can look it that way, that it was Westbrook who broke Lakers chemistry, but there is also that a lot of players joining them last year that really affected them and then coach Vogel wasn't able to adjust his team.

A healthy Lakers with Westbrook has a chance to reach the playoffs, but winning the championship, I think that's another story.
Trading Westbrook should be the right idea, unless he will prove us wrong this season to come.
Of course, him being healthy, even if he is not that super athletic could be a problem for most team. He can still get those rebounds and assists to pad his stats. So we will see if at least they can get to the 1st round of playoff this year with him still around as a Lakers.
2004  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SWEATCOIN on: September 14, 2022, 10:36:26 AM
Sweatcoin is an app that converts your footsteps into digital coins, which you can use to earn extra cash.
Sweatcoin developers have plans to make Sweatcoin a cryptocurrency that can be exchanged for other digital currencies such as Bitcoin.
There is no guarantee that Sweatcoin will last forever.
Ok thanks for the quick explanation, it is a very good idea, it might be unique but if people are not going to used this app then it won't survived in the long run.

But let's wait if they wtill make it a official crypto and who knows, maybe the hype will be sustainable. However, I will still be cautious with this hype. We are still in the bear market and investors are still reluctant to put their money on any projects, just saying.
2005  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo vs Golovkin 3 - September 17 on: September 14, 2022, 09:41:25 AM

Barring asides those odds, maybe there are fans that are throwing enough money on him, but it was offset because of the huge money that is flowing on Canelo. Maybe whales are betting ML on Canelo with big amounts of money and then GGG fans, just good amount of bets.

And if we look at some of the predictions, they are leaning towards Canelo winning this fight so the odds won't change a bit as we gets closer to the fight night.

Depends on how the pressure from the bettors. As of this moment I see your point there's a huge amount of money who trusted Canelo.

Balance or maybe bookies seen that GGG's bettors are still with same weight of bets, we never know if on the day of the fight if there's big

bets for GGG that may affects the odd and maybe changes will take place, or if you can wait additional betting odds might be presented from

different gambling sites.

I will put my bet on GGG, I will not feel the pressure because the betting odds are good and I don't lose much in case GGG will lose. All I believe is that if GGG will lose, I'm sure I will still be entertain because GGG will never back down, and what if he got lucky here, upset is possible my friend.
Good for you, and again, if we look at the voting here, I myself voted for GGG to win. And with that very attractive odds, then why not? At least you have your own decision and not be pressure because Canelo is the favorite and then there are predictions by former boxers who thinks that Canelo will win and probably score a stoppage either by TKO or KO but I doubt that Canelo can go that even if GGG is 40 years old.
2006  Economy / Speculation / Re: Stressful crypto market on: September 14, 2022, 09:21:38 AM
Today's market certainly makes us stressed, the price of dropping more than 10% and based on the analysis of many experts will drop again below $ 20K, I have also set a purchase price at Coinbase around $ 230 for the price of $ 19500.

Because we are still in a bear market, a 10% drop shouldn't be too surprising or too stressful. But again bitcoin is not dumped, it is still above the 20k support which is a good sign for the market. We may have bottomed out this bear season and bitcoin is not going to drop below $20k anymore.
We are currently at 20.2k and the price you expect is not much different, you should buy now without waiting because if bitcoin really doesn't break 20k resistance then you will miss your chance to buy bitcoin.
It could be very well stressful for majority to see that in the last couple of days the price is really making a good rally. Up from $18 to $22k, and then suddenly you wake us seeng your wallet down by -10%, ouch.

But it is what it what it is, we are very much in the bear season still, and maybe till next year. So if people are going to be stressful, then it will take them years because this bear market will last till 2023, or until the bitcoin block halving. So better cope with it right now.
2007  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Naoya Inoue vs Paul Butler - Undisputed Bantamweight Bout - December 13 on: September 14, 2022, 09:02:25 AM
I believe Inoue can win a title in super-bantamweight. The featherweight division would likely become his limit due to his size and his age. Mid 30's athletes' bodies will change some slowly while others are quick to catch up. Inoue at over 33 years old will lose some of his quickness and strength. He may continue to become a champion like Usyk, Crawford, GGG, and Beterbiev because these people are extraordinary but that doesn't mean they didn't depreciate.

Nice explanation, he is not anymore a young boxer, so there's always a limitation once the boxer will age. Unless Inoue will continue to climb after winning a championship which is possible but unlikely to happen. He maybe a star now, but at with the same age as Pacman, Pacman has more achievements than him.
It's really hard to compare the two, I guess it's a combination of Pacman's uniqueness and Arum careful match making that he achieved so much in short amount of time.

But Inoue can still make his name and will probably can go at high 126-130 but it will be very difficult for him, facing natural fighters at that weight division.

We know how good Arum in terms of milking his money making fighter,
Right, he won't be successful in boxing promotions if he doesn't know as I have said, cherry pick and then he milk then with the right amount of money. But sometimes there are fighters like Floyd who severe his tie with Arum because he doesn't want the money he is getting.

but I can say that Inoue has the caliber that really brings him to standout on his division, and in terms of moving up to another weight with his fighting skills and his dedication to keep enhancing, the chance of winning is very possible for him.

Butler's name got credentials, but witnessing how Inoue put down Donaire, we can assume that it will be another KO win for Inoue.
Inoue has what it takes to be a very elite fighter that's why he won and become the champion. He has the talent to build his name around. And then he hired Top Rank to promote him in the US and that's why he become a household name even for US fans.
2008  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 14, 2022, 08:19:01 AM
A variable I've seen discussed here a few times is the AD situation.
Unfortunately he is in a delicate situation and has regrettably spent more time off the court due to his injuries than playing.

But anyway, I believe for the Lakers to be champions in this season, they need to evolve a lot, not specifically improve their roster (this is an important factor), but something more relevant, is the chemistry between the players, which I saw a few times in some games the Lakers played in the previous NBA season.
It's difficult to create strong chemistry if they keep on rotating new players on their roster. It cannot even be compared with the likes of GSW, Phoenix Suns, and Grizzlies. There's a savior though, Lebron James. He had been a leader for a long time and he knew how to create chemistry in a short span of time. I remember him creating events for the Lakers players a lot of times to strengthen that chemistry so it will just depend on them if they want to join.
AD and Lebron won't have a problem and they kept Austin Reaves which I think will be a lot of help to them.

Lakers need to retain what rooster they have if there current rooster are skilled ones its just they really need chemistry so that they can work all things out, but the problem with them maybe LBJ request to overhaul their team is they change their player to new once they get bad run in a season. And I think what LBJ did last time did not work since they end up on bad position last season. So maybe its best for them to have young potential talents and develop them since this could bring good future to LA rather than trying to create a super team surrounded  by ball dominant players since for sure they really get a problem again with that.

They already got a powerful roster last 2020 but after they won the Finals, the team decides to let go some of the players so that they can afford Westbrook in the process, and that's where they did some mistakes. Now, they cannot blame Westbrook alone just because he didn't meet the standard they expected from him but because they already have some good players and still decided to let them go. One examples for that is Alex Caruso.
We can't say that they have to blame Westbrook for what had happened to them last season. It's the breaks of the game, they started good in the first 10-20 games if I'm not mistaken, but as soon as Davis get's injured, the Lakers suffers and they can't recover in time to make the playoffs. For Caruso's case I think it's more of the salary offer and it Alex is not satisfied that's why he chooses to go to the Bulls with good offer.
2009  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: September 14, 2022, 07:34:00 AM
congrats to Alcaraz, he is now no.1, and IMO this is much more deserved than Medvedev being no.1

good game with Ruud, but there was hardly a question who will win it in the end, Alcaraz is definitely best talent at the moment, and could win a lot of GS's in the future

is this a new generation in tennis starting or just US Open, since big3 domination was lowest on US Open, comparing to Wimbledon, RG and AO

Your last sentence is exactly what I was questioning myself. And I think it is a new generation that we see here. Alcaraz has only been playing professional tennis for 2 years and at 19 he is already number 1. If his body and his head cooperate he will be able to play at a high level for the next 14 or 15 years.
we can't tell these days, i've seen Alexander Zverev and Thiem play really well and i thought we will see them by now fighting for the top of the leader board, but injuries and missing a lot of competitions because of covid did them really bad, so who knows ? Alcaraz might suffer from an injury that could destroy his career just like what happened to dominik thiem.
Hopefully it will not be the case for Alcaraz, to get injured early in his career and then suffered the worst, then losing the number 1 and his career over in an instant.

You mentioned Thiem, he is a prime example, although he was supposed to be the next generation and almost reaching the top spot, then suddenly injuries get a better of his career and although he try to comeback this year, it seems the competition has up the ante so he can't climb back as he wanted it to be.

2011  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Dmitry Bivol vs Zurdo Ramirez on: September 12, 2022, 12:50:57 AM

Boxing record:
Dmitry Bivol 20-0-11 KOs
Zurdo Ramirez 44-0-30 KOs

I became a fan of Bivol after schooling Canelo in their fight and now he is up against a legit challenger in Ramirez he will have his hands full again, it's very interesting and exciting to watch when both undefeated fighters are fighting not only to keep their 0 in their record but for the title as well, I don't know much about Zurdo but his records will speak for itself, based on what I saw on Youtube he is a legit challenger and a big threat to Bivol's title and reputation.
He already carved up his name in history for defeating Canelo, who is supposed to just steamroll everyone at 175 lbs. So yeah, some of us here become a fan of him.

And we would a believer if he beats a tough opponent in Ramirez and see how great Bivol is. Perhaps next for him is either Beterviev for unification or a rematch with Canelo Alvarez.
2012  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Too good to be true? on: September 09, 2022, 11:26:12 AM
Is it possible to invest 100$ in altcoin and turn to 7,000$? Have this ever happened to anyone on here? Is this even possible?.
Yes it is possible, but you have to be very lucky to find that project early and then invest on it before other does and then it magically grows in the next couple of months, specially if this happens on a bull market. And perhaps this is true maybe in the ICO boom in 2017, that is a bull year and every projects turn into gold. Even during a airdrop it's going to be worth like $100 or even more. So just imagine if a airdrop can be worth like that what more is the project that is more hype than others?
2013  Economy / Speculation / Re: Stressful crypto market on: September 09, 2022, 11:06:59 AM
Market will always be fluctuating so that we should never stress, rest assured that the market will soon improve and today it is proven because it rises more than 8%, I'm sure there will be many who say regret when we don't buy at prices below $ 20k, but if we have money then then Immediately buy even though it's now $ 20700, I'm sure in September it can reach at least $ 25K.
Yes, anyone expecting this recovery so quick that it went to $20,700? So what is next $22k before we can say that we are out of the lower lows for this year?

And what is the news that brought the market to bounce back again?

So it's becoming interesting again for this month, I have to check my analysis again as it is obviously invalidated because the price I'm looking is at $19,700 to trigger another run and that's what is happening right now.
2014  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: September 09, 2022, 10:47:35 AM
Jabuer run continues in the ladies side, as she defeated Garcia. So she will be the first one to reach the finals.

Swiatek and Sabalenka still battling it out, as usual Swiatek lost the first set. And then storm back in the second to win by 6-1. Start of the third set now, and it seems that she has gotten his confidence back and her momentum. Sabalenka needs everything if she wanted to win.
The momentum has moved into Swiatek, third set got equalled 4-4 and now Swiatek have taken the lead 5-4. Sabalenka have done the best. The serve is with Sabalenka and she can level the point. If not this is going to be the match decider. The pressure is high on sabalenka and made a double fault in the serve. Finally it was Swiatek to win the match 3-6 6-1 6-4.
Another great comeback from Swiatek. It seems that he is becoming the Djokovic of women's tennis. Like deliberately losing a set by a huge margin and then coming back strong to snatch a win.

So it will be Jabeur vs Swiatek in the women's final. I will be putting my money again on the over for this. I'm expecting that it will be a 3 setter match.
2015  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 09, 2022, 10:29:54 AM
.......
Speaking of the free agent market, I noticed that there are 4 centers in there,

- Dwight Howard
- Demarcus Cousins
- Tristan Thompson
- Hassan Whiteside

Maybe this is another indication that the NBA is really going small basketball and the game has really evolved in the last 10 years.
It evolved for sure since you now see bigs taking three pointers and handling the ball.

It's probably more of an indication that Centers today are trying to acquire skills more suitable for other positions and kinda abandoned what they're supposed to be really good at. I bet they would still be useful to any team if they can post up like The Dream or The Big Fundamental.
Yeah, as we all know by now, Steph Curry is one guy that change the game completely. And then we have the likes of Dirk Nowitzi as well who shape how Centers or at least 7'0 guy shoot from the outside.

We still have the old and traditional Center like Joel Embiid and play one on one and uses their height to their advantage. But this era is very different now, and since everyone can shoot outside, the physically of the Jordan era is gone and that's why ex-basketball players that are now analyst on TV criticize this era for being soft.
2016  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo vs Golovkin 3 - September 17 on: September 09, 2022, 09:49:36 AM
A  boxer's career is good as his record.  If Canelo losses to GGG in this coming fight, it will greatly affect the future  hype and interest on the fight of Canelo.  It would be not good if Canelo suffers a back to back losses and it will surely affect his career.

I think if ever GGG wins on this fight, it would be interesting to watch another rematch to seal the rivalry.

Another "rematch"? I don't think that there will be any rematch, irrespective of the outcome. Even if by some miracle Canelo loses this fight, I don't think that he will be interested in another bout with Golovkin. He can always claim that now the score is 1-1-1 (although many of us don't agree with the scorecard from the previous two fights). In case Canelo is able to win, then there is simply no question of a rematch. The last thing I want is a controversial decision from the judges. If the fight is close and the judges show bias to either one of the boxers, then this debate will go on forever.
Yeah, I don't think a 3rd fight is needed if ever GGG win in this fight. But it will be interesting how the career of Canelo will go. For sure he might fight Bivol again in  the rematch.

So both can still continue despite losing this fight although it is very important for each one to win and sell the rivalry that it take years for Canelo to accept the 3rd fight.
2017  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why I won't be buying Eth until the merge is completed things are running fine on: September 08, 2022, 04:30:08 PM
Is this ideal or let me use the word most suitable, I plan not to buy Ethereum until the merge is complete because

1. Its been years that we've been waiting for this merge to happen and there have been so many delays and postponements for the past years, I doubt things will go smoothly, what if something so catastrophic happens to Ethereum when and after the merge?. .this upgrade has not been tested yet so anything could go wrong.
Isn't it been tested first on their testnet? I do agree that the mainnet might have a problem, but I don't think it will be catastrophic as you may have think.

2. Many exchanges already halted every Eth transactions starting from today and that's even on other chains as well, I think they knew anything could go wrong, even erc20 tokens can't be processed or sent when the merge is close am I right?
This is just a precautionary measures, just like any other crypto's that have upgraded in the past. They halted all transactions until everything settles down.

You can still hold ETH on exchanges and nothing happens.

2018  Economy / Speculation / Re: Here is why the price has remained low on: September 08, 2022, 04:13:11 PM
The price remained low because the bubble has been burst, and this is the cycle that we know of. So we are in a bear cycle so people are selling since December of last year and there are no big whales that is willing to shake the market and buy tons of it just to impact the price positively.

And besides, they are whales and we don't know his/her identify, so we can't simply influence that individual even if he or she is amongst us in this community.
2019  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Haney vs Kambosos II (Undisputed) on: September 08, 2022, 03:50:17 PM
Is anybody here following Haney's Twitter? I like how he is being vocal and at the same time trolling or trash-talking. Last month, Haney was trolling Teofimo Lopez calling his performance like a poor one against a non-ranked fighter.

This month of September he is targeting Tank Davis, calling his WBA regular belt a Mickey Mouse belt. Of course, the WBA belt is not a major title since Haney got the Super WBA belt and all the remaining belts in the division. It's funny because prior to becoming an undisputed champion, Haney was called an e-mail champ after his WBC interim belt was upgraded as the WBC champion after the corrupt WBC president Sulaiman tried to introduce its new WBC Franchise (similar to Super WBA belt) belt as a major belt with higher credits than the usual WBC belt.
He has all the bragging rights, Haney has done his thing, fighting Kambosos, going to his backyard, taking all the belts and then willing to go on a rematch again. So he beat the man who beat Lopez and then Teo going up in weight and fighting nobody, I think Haney is just being real here.

And I agree with his trolling of Davis, he is just being groom to be the next Floyd, but he is not facing any good opponent in hi last 2 fights. Of course, boxing politics, with all the corruption and those funny belts specially from WBC's Sulaiman, we forget how many belts his organization has for a single weight class.
2020  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 08, 2022, 03:31:23 PM
No matter how they'll improve their roster but they don't have the system to win the championship, that's still not gonna work. Warriors had a good system, they also have a big 3 who are experienced enough in the NBA finals and have won a multiple championships together, so I would trust the Warriors here as they will likely win a back to back championship, well, I could be wrong though.
They had a good one during the bubble and Butler was doing pretty great doing the damage against the Lakers, it changed when it was found out their weakness was Duncan Robinson. Suddenly, they lack a sharpshooter in the playoffs last season after Coach Spo keeps on benching him because of the lack of defensive power. If it's improvements in chemistry base, they are strong and the same offensively but the defense is where they need to balance out because it had been easy for other teams who they will target for a higher chance to make a point.
IMO, they are not weak, there's just a missing piece.
The Miami Heat has a good system I believed, they have the experienced winning a ring under coach Spo. And they went into the finals in the bubble with Butler leading them against the Lakers.

It's just in the last 2 seasons, they can't get the hump and reach the finals again. They try to upgrade their roster with Lowry acquisition and Oladipo. But I guess Victor is not a perfect fit for them, he play good defense in the playoffs but not enough offense which he was known of.
