Warriors fans will be happy bringng back Gary Payton II back to the team.
On the other hand, John Wall return as well to the Houston Rockets,  Grin
Pat Bev traded to Magic, in exchange of Mo Bamba, I guess we have the answers now. After losing Thomas Bryant, now they got Bamba as a back up center for Anthony Davis. So the Lakers Flip Bryant, Russ and Pat Bev -> Mo Bamba, D’Lo, Beasley, and Vanderbilt.
2162  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do You trust Tether (USDT) Stablecoin? on: February 09, 2023, 08:36:26 PM
Maybe this one will help us:

Quote
Tether, the issuer of the world’s largest stablecoin by market value, has completed reserves attestation by major global accounting firm BDO.

The stablecoin firm released BDO’s assurance opinion on Feb. 9, which re-affirms the accuracy of Tether’s consolidated reserves report (CRR) as of Dec. 31, 2022.

The CRR shows that Tether’s consolidated assets amount to at least $67 billion, exceeding consolidated liabilities of $66 billion, with excess reserves equaling at least $960 million.

In addition to reducing its secured loans as committed, the report also shows Tether ended 2022 with zero commercial paper.

https://cointelegraph.com/news/tether-assets-exceed-liabilities-in-new-reserves-report-by-bdo

Not saying that they could be trusted 100%, but base on the articles and the accounting firm, that they have a lot of surplus and could be really 1:1 with USD and even more if there is needed or if it de-pegs as the case of other stable coins.

Of course, the auditor firm will also put a disclaimer at the end.

So I guess we still need to be very careful.
2163  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for February on: February 09, 2023, 08:15:45 PM
Personally I think breaking $25K this month could be a bit early, especially if most people are expecting it to happen already. I think March is more realistic, though wouldn't rule out breaking above $25K in the next week or two. I think it depends more so if current prices or $21K level will hold as support, if not then it will likely take price longer to consolidate if $20K (accumulation) levels are re-visited.

Yeah, I think it's very quick if we are going to hit $25k by this month. I might be leaning towards next month as well, thinking that the buyers are going to be exhausted with all the effort pushing to $24k++ and then the price goes down again.

Right now we are below $22k, a good support, not sure what happen, but for sure $20k will be biggest support if ever we re-visited this price this month. The only negative news that I see is the closing of LBC, but not sure if this is main reason for the price to go down again.
2164  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: February 09, 2023, 08:03:20 PM
And this is what Ryan Garcia has to say:

Quote
On Wednesday evening, Garcia posted an Instagram video of himself training at coach Joe Goossen’s Ten Goose Boxing Gym in Van Nuys, Calif. with the caption, “stop running Tank. Stop hiding from me. Stop staying quiet behind Al Haymon. No rematch clause. Winner takes all coward.”

https://www.boxingscene.com/ryan-garcia-tank-no-rematch-clause-winner-takes-all-coward-stop-staying-quiet-behind-haymon--172359

I doubt though that Al and Tank will have to bow on this kind of threat from Ryan.

I'm still seeing that this fight can be iron out by both parties and the fight pushing in May or in a later date. Brave though from Ryan about the winner takes all suggestion, but it hasn't happen in boxing.
2165  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: how many times have you intended to stop gambling on: February 09, 2023, 07:48:29 PM
<snip>
Not that much. I only stopped playing when I started watching streamers like Roshtein, Train, DeuceAce, etc on Twitch. Before, if I have money I will keep playing regardless of how much time I consume. Times that I want to stop gambling is right after a depleted bankroll.
These days, I'm glad that I can better accept losing, unlike before.

This means you are doing bad with yourself by playing unlimited gambling and stopping only when you have lost all your money. In this case, even if you make money, you will just keep on playing to lose in the end. I don't think this is a good strategy unless and until you have a lot of money and losing it does not make any difference to your life.

For many people like me, its a nightmare to lose in gambling and we try our best that our loss is minimum. Also if we win any amount in gambling, the first priority is to stop gambling and save the profits.

It's a nightmare if we can't afford to lose that money, nevertheless I will agree though, I have played with money that I can lose, but at the end of the day, I hate that feeling when you go home from a land base casinos and lost your money.

So majority of us may have thinking of kicking this bad habit. But it's really hard specially if you have the means to play again and again. As for watching streamers? not my type though, I guess I have been in gambling way before this streamers existed.
2166  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue - WBC and WBO 122 lbs bout - May on: February 09, 2023, 07:35:33 PM
Inoue's fans, what can you say about this?

https://www.ringtv.com/649277-exclusive-stephen-fulton-and-trainer-say-beating-naoya-inoue-in-japan-is-key-to-respect-in-america/

They really think that it's a big war and they need to win so their country will be respected.
Looks like they are the ones thinking that way, it's not the battle of USA vs JAPAN, this is a sport, it's boxing and entertainment.
Well, if they think that way, good for them as that means they'll have to work hard to find a way to beat Inoue.

What a weird article posted on Ring's website. I think the point is about Fulton not getting the attention and big respect in the US even if he owns 2 belts while Inoue is glorified not just in Japan but in the whole world. Inoue is ranked 2nd best pound for pound in the world and beating him would make Fulton very popular and probably get ranked in the top 10 p4p by The Ring.

I hope everything is finalized soon since this is a great fight. Fulton might think that Inoue's punches are just the same or even lesser than those of Brandon Figueroa whom he survived and won a very close fight.

I don't know, what's weird to me, is that Fulton is playing the race card here? or the article was put to be like that?

I think it's the later, probably the author just wanted more clicks and viewers and so he inserted this kind of background and we really don't know if Fulton really said that or what.

So I doubt the veracity of that article to be honest.

In any case, if he thinks he can beat the Monster to gain the respect from America then yeah, he needs to go to Japan and fight him. I like his mindset though, he thinks Inoue is small and so he can take him out. Also he mentioned that he has been in this kind of crowd, they are totally against him but he won (against Figueroa). Wherein the crowd was pro Mexican Brandon but nevertheless he did everything to win in the judges scorecard.

His style though, not having a good knockout ratio, or not putting his opponents to sleep, might be one reason as well why Fulton is not universally recognized as we wanted to be. There are also another champion in the super bantamweight that he needs to fight to unify the belt, but he choose to go with Inoue first and maybe go up in weight next.

Denver vs Wolves - Denver ML, for a 3.87 odds.
What? Was it 3.87 before the game started? I can't remember.  Grin Lucky!

No that is not the odds for the Denver ML at the start, it was the odds for my 3 game parlay, including Denver's ML.

Game for tonight:

Magic vs Nuggets - Denver here, -5.5 @1.87. Denver is hot and it was reported that they acquire Thomas Bryant from the Lakers
Bucks vs Lakers - I go with the Bucks -5.5 as well @1.57

And I'm also going to parlay also, @2.94 odds.
2168  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 09, 2023, 07:13:46 PM
Another trade news is that Thomas Bryant was also dealt by the Lakers to the Nuggets Davon Reed and three 2nd-round picks. The rumor is that Bryant is not happy with his playing time, specially when AD is back on the floor again.

So it will be Jokic and Bryant protecting the rim for the Nuggets.

But I doubt that he will have a good time as well with the Nuggets, obviously, this is Jokic team. Or maybe him playing Center and then Jokic moving to PF, lets see.

I was just looking over this trade on the list and wondering why on earth the Lakers made it...  Bryant had been playing well for them in Anthony Davis' absence and even if he was unhappy, he was under contract and playing a fairly large role.  I'm sure he wants more playing time but who doesn't?  With Anthony Davis so injury prone, I think this trade is going to hurt the Lakers unless they have something lined up that I don't know about.  Who is going to be their backup center?  Maybe LeBron is going to try and recruit Kevin Love to the Lakers if he gets bought out or maybe we'll see one of the recent big men they worked out get a chance?

I do agree, I'm also surprised to see the Lakers letting him go and getting Reed as a back up center for AD or even starts at the center position for them. Byrant has blend very well with the Lakers even if AD is playing. So still a mystery for us, maybe it was true that Bryant is the one who makes this request to be traded for reasons only known to him.

But as per @Ramona Shelburne

Quote
Bryant had grown unhappy with his diminished PT since AD returned and asked LAL to look for a better situation. He’d also outplayed his contract & LA only has mid-level to re-sign him— so they opted to give his minutes to Wenyen Gabriel & replenish the picks they gave up for Rui.

Honestly, that gives me curiosity as well if Kryie Irving was just trying to be relevant or what because every now and then, he repeatedly ask for a trade before his contract expires even after the fact that he said himself he will stay on the team. But maybe this time, Kyrie will stay as long as he will get what he wanted because there's no question about his talent, really and surely, the Mavs management can do that for him and provide extension if his performance is needed by the team.
It happens from time to time and it's not just him that did that if we're about to recall those trade requests we might see some others did that in the past as well. Hopefully that he stays longer in the Mavs, any team he goes to, they're all good and it's just up to him how they'll share the same chemistry.
Going with the most recent win of OKC, Lebron's history made as an all-time scoring leader was noisier than their win. Goat or not for some fans, can't deny the fact that he has made and broken history. Congrats to him!

It's of my opinion that Kyrie is an attention whore and a lot of this crap he does is simply for that attention/staying relevant.  There's no question he's one of the greatest players in the game, as well as one of the greatest players of all time..but I can't stand the guy personally.

Definitely congratulations to Lebron breaking the all time scoring record last night!  I used to be a Lebron hater (as a Chicagoan who got sick of people calling Lebron the goat) until I realized I should be appreciating his excellence instead of hating on it.  He was certainly bound and determined to break that record last night!

You are not alone with that opinion, he really loves that attention. I still remember him challenging Kobe when he was still fairly young in the NBA and says that Kobe can't lock him down. Nevertheless Kobe shows his defense and block his shot the next game. So too much trash talking even at a young Kyrie then.

Of course, we would have to appreciate what Lebron does, breaking the all time record and still continuing his greatness. He has a lot on his shoulders when he enter the league and now he proved his doubters breaking Kareem's record in our generation.

@OgNasty - You mean this image? hehehe

2171  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: February 08, 2023, 03:03:56 AM
I'm going for a 3 game parlay here,

Nets vs Suns, Phoenix -5.5, Nets are good with Claxton and Cam Thomas, but I think they will shutdown Cam Thomas here and not allow him to score another 40 point game.

Knicks vs Magic, Gonna be a good game, Knicks solid in road, -1.5 for them.

Denver vs Wolves - Denver ML, for a 3.87 odds.

Wow, Cam Thomas again with another 40 plus point game against the Suns. I thought that the handicap is going to be covered though as they lead 8 in the last minute of the game.

Not sure what happen as I didn't watch the game, maybe the Suns allow them easy basket. And with that, my parlay got destroyed again hehehe.

Denver is leading the Wolves with a good lead.
2172  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is getting ready for $25K, How? on: February 07, 2023, 11:33:11 PM
Bitcoin consolidation is going to complete soon.
Next target appears at $25,000 soon.

Look at the price now and the graph , Bitcoin is going up and up as days goes by so how would we need to deny that fact ?

25k is just 1k to go and looking at it today? maybe tomorrow or the next day? bitcoin will be at 25k.

https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoin/

Bitcoin is getting brighter because today it is up more than 3% and the current price position is around $23800, there is no doubt that 2023 is a year of recovery or maybe it can make new ATH again even though it sounds impossible at the moment, but we must be optimistic that bitcoin can continue to skyrocket if nothing major problems occur such as the bankruptcy of exchanges.
But again down to 22k , so I hate seeing this kind of movement that there are no consistency and no permanent action while we are all expecting at to at least breaking 25k(in which I waited for last 2 weeks)
if this not compose to take 25k in February ? then maybe we will not be having this in the whole quarter.

Yeah, we are down to the highs of $22k, but it's weird, this movement is not the same as what we have seen in this mini bull run that we have.

We just had minor corrections, but this is like $24k=>$22k, it should be like $24k->$23k maintain that level for the next couple of days and then go back to $24k and try to attempt $25k. It seems though that the buyers are now exhausted that's why we have a correction to $22k right now.

It's just the start of the week though, so let's see if we can go back to $23k->$23.5. That will be a good basis if we are going to continue with the run and hit at least $25k this February.
It's been capping at $23k at least in the last 4 hour time frame. So there are no more corrections to the lowest $22k and I think it's a good sign and buyers are not exhausted, maybe they just take a rest and then resuming right now.

Also if you are going to look at the mempool, it seems that it is clogged, meaning there are a lot of tradings that might be going on behind right now. And that is the why the price keep on fluctuating to $23k. But we wanted to see the price at least $23,500. It should be the big test that we are looking, whether this bull run will continue and hit $25k or not.

You spoke to soon, as I have said, it could return to $23,500 and that's what might happen for this week.

We have a minor corrections, but the bulls are back in the market, now the price is going to $23,400. So we may be safe not there are not going to be a huge corrections, although I felt that it might happen, so its good that I was wrong again with my prediction.

Not sure about the mempool being clogged, it's usually free the last time I check, probably it depends on the fees if you are withdrawing and taking so long to get confirmed.
2173  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: February 07, 2023, 11:10:37 PM
At least Canelo is being honest and chill despite his past issues and differences with Ryan. With regards to the venue, a stadium might be cool to cater to more audiences but the organizers might opt for smaller, easier-to-manage, and boxing-proven venues like the MGM. They can easily match the gate revenue by increasing the price of the tickets. There are a lot of rich people regularly traveling to Vegas.

But the main issue right now is who will promote and what network will telecast if a rematch clause is activated. I cannot believe they are confident that this fight is happening yet this one which is very important is not yet agreed upon earlier. PBC showing its toxicity in boxing once again. Al Hymen is greedy once again despite his fighter being clearly the favorite. Obviously, GBP and DAZN should be the ones handling if ever a rematch is happening.

The "rematch clause" is holding this fight back and if they can't agree on it then this fight might not happen at least this April 15. I think there will only be a rematch if Davis is defeated as he is the current champion so it's just fair that Golden Boy Promotion will handle the second if ever that happens so yeah that Al Haymon is killing this fight on paper once again.

Yeah, still hanging on the balance, I thought that they have settled who is going to cover and everything. But this time it's the rematch clause and it shows that Al Haymon doesn't want to give control to GBP in the rematch.

And suddenly, the negotiations turn ugly now, I just do hope that they will keep quiet on it and not let the public knows what's going behind close door. So that they can work it out first instead of going to media which might fuel for either side not to push for it.
2174  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: February 07, 2023, 11:01:00 PM
Anybody else think it’s a little strange that Jake Paul already has his next fight lined up and he hasn’t even fought Tommy Fury yet? Is that normal in boxing? It seems strange to me that it doesn’t really matter who wins or loses this Paul/Fury fight if the next event with KSI is already lined up. This will probably fuel the fire of a conspiracy that all of Jake Paul’s fights are rigged. I don’t believe that for whatever it’s worth.

No, it's not normal in boxing, but Jake Paul is on a whole league of his own, which is exhibition matches, and he has become a manager as well, so he can dictate the terms as to who will be his next fight after Tom Fury (if this fight is going to happen).

@danherbias07 - I'm looking at this fight going to full 12 rounds and Vargas by decision.

Still good @2.04 odds, hehehehe.

Yes, there are backers of Foster as well that's why the odds keeps on moving.
2175  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Nonito Donaire vs Jason Moloney on: February 07, 2023, 10:35:01 PM
They are lucky that Inoue decided to move up, otherwise, this division will be owned by Inoue as long as he stays active.

As of this time, there's no clear opponent that Donaire might fight next. No words from Moloney too. Maybe told by his Boss to keep his mouth shut lol.

Or probably they are talking to other promoters on how to settle this one since Moloney or his camp doesn't want Donaire.

And so before Donaire opens his mouth, at least the fight should be 99% in the bag already, no more last second backing up just like what happen here. As for Inoue moving up, it's good for the Donaire, opening up a lot of opportunities for boxers to get a belt.

So let's wait for Donaire or on Moloney side, for sure all bodies are looking to have a fight as all the belts are open now. They immediately need a champion.

Even if they didn't want Donaire if a boxing organization where he is ranked, ordered it, he will have to take that chance, a good fighter who wants to be a champion will fight just anybody to prove that he is worthy of being a champion, and Donaire is not someone to back out of the fight, much more now that he needs a graceful exist and becoming a champion is what he really needs right now, Donaire deserves to have a crack because he still has it.

And that's where the influence of these promoters came into the picture, obviously, Bob Arum doesn't want to work with Donaire's manager and so even if they agree before hand in the November 2022 held every year by WBC in their convention, it's not an assurance that the fight is going to happen.

So now Donaire doesn't have a dance partner as Moloney decided not to fight and probably will go with other fights in other organization. Donaire can do the same as well, but it seems he has his sight at the WBC belt.
2176  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 07, 2023, 10:22:44 PM
Cam Thomas is making a big deal for Brooklyn Nets, the guy's a bucket machine! If he maintains this kind of performance, even Kyrie Irving was traded to the other team, in my opinion it's a win win situation. I'm gonna watch their next game against Chicago Bulls, might he'll drop 40+ points again and make history.

•44 PTS, 4 3PM, 16-23 FG
•47 PTS, 7 3PM, 15-29 FG

link: https://twitter.com/BleacherReport/status/1622800123809120257
This is what I'm talking about. He's been doing pretty well when he starts games even before the Kyrie trade. I hope Durant see enough motivation to stay by mentoring these young guys at least until the end of the season.

On another NOT so breaking news, Ben Simmons has zero trade value according to some articles. That's hardly surprising to anyone who looks at his output per game. He should be mentally ready to play back in Australia because he'll probably get a minimum vet salary once his lucrative contract expires.

Yeah, it's good that we have seen Cam Thomas emerging as the new face of the Nets franchise. Did you see that shot he made in the 4th, like twisting in the air but still hitting the two? Yes, they lost the game, but they gave one hell of a fight, him and Claxton could be the next anchor of the Nets offense once KD is back in action.

For Simmons though, yeah, it seems that he is still not mentally stable to play after the drama he had with Sixers.

And he is destroyed for good and I doubt that he can recover it back.

Someone needs to step up and Thomas shows his willingness while Kyrie is no longer around and the main alpha(KD) Still resting,
that production is something that they need especially when KD is already playing with them.

It will be another interesting offensive power as he can adds up to a threat when everyone is already available,
not sure though with Simmons, like you mentioned he's really destroyed and even he already played a lot this season
he still showing differently.

Nic is stepping up, Simmons? nah, I don't see him becoming the same player as he was with the Sixers. Cam Thomas is a young players so he has the potential to become a Booker or Tatum like player, can impact a team if he continue like this. Nic has been with Irving and KD and has been improving every year. And if I'm not mistaken, he has up his blocks, so he might be a good candidate for DPOY in my opinion.

Let's wait for KD to comeback, maybe him and Thomas could have a good chemistry. He might be the mentor for him and KD might enjoy this new role of his, let's see.

So here is the odds for Vargas vs Foster,

ML is Vargas @1.54 and Foster @2.50

Vargas by KO @6.20
Foster by KO @6.00

Vargas by decision @1.99
Foster by decision @3.90

All taken from Stake, so it looks like Rey Vargas by decision might be a good odds to bet. I'm expecting this to be a brawl, but it could go to the judges scored and perhaps Vargas edging Foster.
2179  Economy / Speculation / Re: Month January 23 - the best month since bitcoin? on: February 06, 2023, 03:46:57 PM
Yeah right, it's not a very significant recovery for Bitcoin and can't say it's recovered, but at least right now from some of the upswing and starting from early january we think we've had a bit of a recovery that hasn't fully recovered, and we think Bitcoin performed well this month, and was able to end january at a good price, even though it didn't hit that significant ATH.
Now it's February and the price difference with January is also not that far because the increase is not that significant even though the recovery has started in Bitcoin. I would consider the recovery to be amazing when Bitcoin is able to top $35K within the year as that is half the ATH Bitcoin has ever been. Because I don't think and believe that a new ATH in Bitcoin will be reached this year, and besides, Bitcoin always takes more time to increase to create a new ATH.

But we need to be calm though, right now we've experience some minor correction already, down to $22k++. So it seems the big psychological barrier is $25k and we haven't touch that yet.

So we might have one of the best month in bitcoin's history, but it doesn't mean it will go parabolic this year. Technically, we are in the midst of the bear market, so everything can still end up in a negative way for the next 10 months or so. If could be amazing as you have said if we are going to $35k, but I wouldn't be surprised if we don't.
2180  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: February 06, 2023, 03:09:09 PM
Good thing with Magsayo if he will win his fight against Figueroa and Vargas will step down again and face Magsayo for possible title match, money wise it will give Magsayo decent amount of profits, but first he needs to take care of Figueroa and make sure that he will be ready for Vargas if he decided to go back and negotiate for the possible fight.

Future will be much better for them as they've got that chance to make money with the fans who wanted to see how those fighters will perform.

I love to see that Magsayo will be taking his revenge to a fighter that had beaten him. This fight is his best chance though, he is fighting a good fighter so if he wins this, it only imply that he had learn from his mistakes and have made adjustments to make himself a better fighter.

Vargas vs Magsayo II, that's a good title, and everyone will be interested watching to know if Magsayo will successfully take his revenge, who knows? we might see a trilogy if he wins.
A promising title indeed.
Magsayo had that belt in the first place, he should be able to get a rematch and both promoters' sides should love the idea because it can hoard more money for both camps.
After this fight against Figueroa, he should pursue taking back the WBC title. I just wish it will be a different result when that fight comes.
Figueroa has the same goal as he did challenge Vargas for that title match last July (after he took it from Magsayo) but ended up being denied to get the opportunity because Vargas said he has nothing to gain from it.
This may end up as a great fight as both boxers are aiming to get the title match that they badly want.

As enticing as a Vargas-Magsayo II to happen, I don't think Magsayo is even a favorite to win against Brandon Figueroa whose only loss was a very close decision to Stephen Fulton in a unification fight. And I think Rey Vargas will successfully win his 3rd division belt which makes the rematch becoming more difficult. I honestly, would like to see an improved Magsayo when he fights Figueroa. Hopefully, he is not the same Magsayo that has limited stamina and has difficulty when facing a brawler. Because if not, Figueroa will take him into deep waters and stops him.

Everybody in this division wants former WBA champion Luis Santa-Cruz because he is the biggest money-maker in this division. The same reason why the corrupt WBA allowed him to hostage the real WBA belt for years despite being already inactive in the division. Magsayo wanted to unify with LSC before. And then Vargas also chased for an LSC fight after taking the WBC belt.

I think Magsayo had difficulty fighting with tall boxers as well, and he did good against Vargas, but the thing is that Vargas has a tough chin and even if Magsayo hits him flush Rey keeps coming back and that's why he in the latter rounds, Mark begin to tire and gas out and allow Vargas to score in the judges score card.

Hopefully we will see an improved Magsayo against Brandon Figueroa, I know it will be tough for him as Figueroa is a volume puncher, but hopefully he will learn a lot from that lost against Vargas.
