2181  Other / Meta / Re: Trust system abuse / DT2 member Vod is provably dishonestly rating people on: November 27, 2018, 08:43:43 PM
As I commented months ago on the first thread you created on this matter I think a policy non-escalation from you would have been the best from the very beginning.
That along with admitting and repenting for your mistake likely would have solved the issue before you had to start any thread at all.  Which you still won't..
It's not unethical for auctioneer to bid on an auction.
You really still feel that way after so many respected members have tried to correct your viewpoint?

Despite this your protests have been wildly successful gaining yourself 2 DT counter positives though you seem to have manages to piss off suchmoon which so far has only resulted in a neutral.

But you still are not satisfied even though you are back in the black.
Now you are asking to be added to DT because you feel the only solution is for your multiple retaliatory feedbacks left on him to hold as much weight as his on you.
I would see that a resolution to this could be found in practice only if I were on DT2 as well.

I'm not sure how others feel but I think asking for DT is questionably shady akin to asking for positive feedback but I have not come across a conclusive discussion of that matter.

I think I head about this case some time ago and now they are going to get let off?
I will have to look further into this..

Interesting, I'll check it out some time.
I don't like the self moderated thread much though.
2184  Other / Meta / Re: The Time Is NOW! I have a "humble plan" to actually fix this seriously F'... on: November 26, 2018, 05:30:51 AM
It went from being annoyed by uses doing the absolute minumum to make a post, to users doing their absolute maximum to make a post, which is an interesting phenomenon.
It's often entertaining when a poster writes half a page of useless shit trying to do "the best they can" and it being nonsense when "the best they can" is still trash. I feel sorry at times for their apparent incapability.

E.g. - guy has 2-3 years of bounty report posts and makes a merit hunting post proving that he knows fuck-all about crypto and/or the crypto community.

can shake your bitcoin strategy

This is about shedding those who do not truly deserve to have their lives changed by BTC.

I also believe Bitcoin Comeback.....soon....

Maybe not "soon"..

2187  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is completing another cycle - when the sun sets it always rises again on: November 26, 2018, 05:01:40 AM
BTC looks cheap.
These prices are not unexpected to me after the last ATH, the one before that, or after the next one as a ratio to USD.

BTC always dumps good from new ATHs and always eventually puts up a new seemingly astronomical ATH again.
To me it looks right on tack and I see nothing to dispute that the chart will eventually dwarf the last pump, as it did the one before that, and the one before that, and the one before that.
2188  Other / Meta / Re: Display positive trust ratings in green fonts on: November 24, 2018, 02:28:45 AM
It would be neat if the code was open sourced and people could submit their ideas as updates with the coding work already done, and the community could debug it before Theymos even has to glance at it. It would take most of the work out of it for him besides deciding to implement it or not.

Going open source could expose a lot of security concerns that could be exploited 0 day before it could be found and patched by the good side but maybe the backend could be separated from the front end in a way where users could play with the display and make things like the merit system and display characteristics but not account and user information stuff.

Green positives sound fine but it seems to me like the negatives are supposed to stand out and be more powerful the way it is designed.
I don't know the exact algorithm but for example QS is -114: -7 / +14 so he has 2X as many + as - but his score is still -114 so negative is more powerful and, possibly why negatives also have a more powerful font being red while + is still just black, because - trust is supposed to hit harder.

OG's idea of also ordering them by trust rating rather than date is ok too, but I would still want to be able to view them by date so I would hope for a flip switch too so you could change what column you want the list organized by, like you see at exchanges.
And that could turn into a whole mess of coding and a lot of work for Theymos. For all I know messing with that could cause bugs somewhere else.

Happy anniversary BTCT!

I wonder what was in topics 1 through 4 and posts 1 through 27.
2190  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 21, 2018, 08:11:56 AM
The mempool seems to be clearing finally. Most everyone’s coins should be available on exchanges now. Perhaps a sign the near term pain is over?

It could be a good signal that most panickers have finished panicking.

Too many pages..

I got my $3k number by extrapolating the ratio of the last ATH to the last ATL before the new ATH = the new post last ATH ATL = bout $3k ish mmkay..
1200-150 =about 20k-3k ish maybe 2.5k
1200/150=8  === 20k/8=2.5k

IDK about you but I don't have much soft feelers for the centralized mining cartel..
Doesn't hurt my feels 1 bit if they lose money for 6 months or so. Fuck them.

BTCBelievers will ensue the network continues. Price has little motivation on nodes and their will still be plenty of hash.
Then we will float undervalued until the next pump to..

20,000/1200 = X/20,000 = 333,333.333333 kek has spoken

hodl for 300k
2193  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 20, 2018, 08:45:10 PM
I'm glad this is happening so it will finally be over and done with.

I think we will have reached our new ATL since the last ATH within a day or 3.
2194  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 20, 2018, 12:32:15 AM
So you think it still has further to go before a similar market will develop?

I think it's too soon to tell if their will be a bounce like he said their wasn't.
I think it could hit as low as 3k and we will still be on our way to another moon shot to $100k.
I expect the pattern after $1200 to repeat itself, but likely with less dead time from this bottom to the next pump.
If it goes below $3k much I may feel the pattern of successive pumps may be over, maybe $2500.
2195  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 20, 2018, 12:23:00 AM
I'm wondering what were the reasons for the bottoming period in 2014/15. I always thought it might of been that the mining costs at the time made a floor at that price, but I never looked into it. Does anyone know if the mining price was around the 200 level in 2014/15?

The bottom in October 2015 was actively fished for with bear raids.  It wasn't really much to do with cost of production seeing as how bitcoin cost of production is completely variable.  It was really pounded into the ground hard to try and find it.  Nothing like you saw then is occurring right now.  It was stable sideways, pounded into the floor, then instant rebound.  There's absolutely no springboard effect rebounds going on on this shit nowadays.

Too soon..
2196  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 20, 2018, 12:06:35 AM
Went from $1200 to about $150.
Went from $20k to about $3-4k to repeat pattern?

Holding.

Deal with Bitcointalk escrows ON BITCOINTALK!

You want your conversations recorded here for future proof of the contract's stipulations for starters..

And.. People impersonate trusted BitcoinTalk members off this site all the time to scam people.. Happens constantly..
2199  Other / Meta / Re: I've started 16 threads. on: November 12, 2018, 05:24:17 PM
I forget to check those boards..
When I look through the boards that interest me I don't seem to remember those ones..

The idea of the Ivory Tower was to take threads away from the spam infested boards, and to generate higher quality discussions. Suggesting that topics are posted on the bounty hunting boards is counter to the concept of the IT board.

Serious thread that was supposed to be high quality content, but no one really contributed
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5037134.0

Same with these political threads that ended up dead;

No one really has the expertise to discuss any of these topics at length it seems.

Those are all trash tho  Roll Eyes

If you don't see the issue with your logic here by now, my explaining is not going to make anything better for you.

If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

With people displaying such outlandish beliefs, I rarely find it productive to argue with them.. Logic doesn't work very often at all..
They usually just repeat the same slander no matter how solid your counterargument is..
