I would add that not running a full node means you don't fully control your fund. You will still be depending on people with full nodes to use your coins.
Full node gives people better/full control over their funds.
Running a full node or using SPVs is another matter. Full nodes are for verifying transactions broadcasted from non-custodial/custodial wallets which then goes to a mempool. Your transaction gets confirmed if a mining full node picks it from the mempool. If in case your transaction was dropped from the mempool for reasons like low fees or invalidated by full nodes, the funds are returned to your wallet. You still have full control over them.

Type "CBDC" in the search bar (upper right side) and you'll see previous discussions about CBDC and it possible/potential effect on BTC or cryptocurrency adoption. Here's just one of them - Poll: coming CBDC help or hurt bitcoin?

It is important to note that every comment in those threads are still personal opinions and you can agree/disagree with them. Have fun reading.

I don't think either of them should be given a title shot, especially not Connor.
There's definitely a good argument against Connor or Dustin but the thing is, they are the only fighters who won their last fights. Granted that the two lost earlier to Khabib and were able to win one, I don't think their chances for a title fight is lower compared to someone who was beaten badly (Tony) or to someone who was defeated easily (Justin).

I don't know any other names outside those four who deserves a shot. Michael might need one or two fights.

To be honest, I wish UFC will be back to the old format where fighters will have a tournament to win the belt. It would be fun to see these four (or five) to slug it out in one event.

~ I wonder if Khabib will stick to his word and not come back. Seems he might not be gone for good
Nope. He'll rest for some time for sure as he's still mourning but he'll be looking to fight someone after he's done just like what GSP has done.

@FinneysTrueVision. The skeptical me is thinking that Khabib retired only to increase his performance fee. He knows this will increase to $30 million to fight for 30 - 0 versus Conor or GSP hehehe.
I'm not the only one who was skeptical then.
2304  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does Bitcoin price rise affect your gameplay? on: October 29, 2020, 05:19:20 AM
I haven't thought about it when placing a bet to be honest. I just count how many zeros I add or remove (not a huge gambler I know) then click. Sometimes I ponder the value of my total BTC in fiat whenever I plan to withdraw though. Feels like your luck doubled when you're winning while BTC is pumping.
2305  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tax Which Bitcoin on: October 29, 2020, 04:48:00 AM
So, one last example, let's say I have two wallets, one with 0.5 bitcoin that has been in there a year, and the other with 0.5 bitcoin that has been in there less than a year.

If I spend 0.5 bitcoin from the wallet that has the bitcoin in there less than a year, can I then legally claim come tax time that I spent the other 0.5 bitcoin from the other wallet for tax purposes?
I'm not exactly sure what you mean but let's clarify this.
  • BTC spent/sold after being held for more than year are subject to long term capital gains tax (lower rates).
  • BTC spent/sold instantly (less than a year) are subject to short term capital gains tax (higher rates).

Again, your BTCs might be taxed (CG) whenever you move them.

Since you used two wallets in your example (wallet A as >1year, wallet B as <1year), you can report wallet B transactions for CG tax purposes.

I would have funded this loan but I can only send you funds from Binance, which charges 0.0004BTC for withdrawal fee. Too costly! I hope somebody would take this. If there is none and you urgently need the money, please tell me. Thank you very much!
I can cover this pero hintayin ko muna confirmation mo (@Maslate) dahil may nauna ng offer.

Ikaw nalang mag fund Bttzed03, sorry Darker45, masyadong malaki yung fee ng Binance.

Thanks to both of you.

So if I have a wallet full of bitcoin, and only 0.5 of the bitcoin has been in the wallet over a year, I can spend up to 0.5 bitcoin at the long term capital gain level (in other words, you can apply the best case scenario for yourself)?
Yes.

It just seems to me it would matter which exact bitcoin you are spending, but that is impossible to know.
I understand what you mean. It's up to you to declare what amount you spent/sold and what amount you are still holding. It's the IRS job to determine whether your tax declaration is proper or not. My suggestion is not to underestimate their ability to track your transactions. When caught for evasion/under declaration, penalties are a pain in the a$$.
2308  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tax Which Bitcoin on: October 29, 2020, 03:46:21 AM
Hey, you can read @Ratimov's tutorial - [Tutorial] Crypto taxes for beginners

To answer your question, yes you can spend your crypto you've held for over a year and be subjected to long term capital gains tax.

If I am not mistaken, what you sell/move is what's subjected to tax. The balance you held isn't. The problem here is when your BTC will be sent to the recipient's address and to a change address which you also own.

To make things simple for you, it would be wise to have a separate wallet for BTC you plan to hold for long term and those you plan on spending short term.
2309  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Multi bets vs single bets on: October 29, 2020, 03:19:05 AM
I'm a simple man when it comes to betting. I don't like to analyze too much that's why I don't do parlays. However small the winnings in single bets are, they're equally good if done consistently. To try to maximize my winnings, I only pick games with good odds most of the time.

I am saddened by this result, unlike Real Madrid. They are superior in possession, they have twenty-two attempted kicks although only six on goal. They must be able to win. Although there are still many opportunities to qualify for the group, their position is quite concerning. Madrid still has four games left and I think they have to win all of them for the fans to be happy.
That's how ruthless the game is sometimes. They can pass the ball all they want because there's no time limit, unlike basketball, but they have to be efficient  and convert them to goals. Goodluck to them with the rest of their games.

I'm just happy that Man U won. I was able to recover my loss on RM Grin

Good luck! Old Trafford has seen some truly magical nights in the CL, and maybe that win against PSG was a turning point in the season for the team and they'll finally start showing us what that Red Devils fighting spirit in important matches is all about

Juve - Barca and total goals, maybe there's value in Under 3 at 1.7x? both teams are showing awful football as of late, so...
Old trafford magic still working. I never would have thought they can still score that many.

I was lucky to pull out at the last minute betting over 2.5 for Juve vs. Barca. I really thought it would end up 2-1 or 3-1.

Maybe you can try @spider703 free/paid tx accelerator. I asked him on telegram to accelerate mine few days ago but no success so far. I'm guessing it's because my fees are too low. You, on the other hand, paid a decent amount for fees. He can help you out like many others who asked in that thread.
2312  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🏆 Betnomi.com - Crypto Centric 🏀Sportsbook and 🎲Casino - 🔥Biggest Jackpots on: October 28, 2020, 03:36:39 PM
There's more interest in the the EPL than the UFC here at BCT.  But hopefully the UFC pool grows and so do the prizes.  It all depends on you tho, the participants, and how many of you show interest.

There is interest for UFC bets, but maybe procedure is a bit more complicated with choosing winner and method of win, and in next Halloween fight card there are not many big names except main event Hall and Silva, so people have to spend more time researching fighters and odds Wink
EPL is a simple 1,X,2 bet
I think you are missing the point. What you said has nothing to do with the prize pool that's being questioned.

The "interest" that's being referred to here is how many members are betting on UFC events. For example in Betnomi, there are probably around 1 BTC that's being wagered every week in EPL while 0.1 BTC for UFC events. Just by looking at the figures, it would make sense for them to allocate more prize into EPL.
2313  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it time to invest in Polkadot? on: October 28, 2020, 03:11:49 PM
It's certainly an ambitious project. Blockchain interoperability is something that many developers have been talking about in the past two years and Polkadot seems to be the closest thing. You cannot ignore also the support it's getting even after their funds raised through ICO in 2017 was exploited.

What I don't like is how people are calling it as "Ethereum killer". I mean, how many projects have tried in the past? Remember EOS in the beginning and where it stands now?

So is it time? It depends on your risk appetite. It's still in the early stage but if you have money that you can afford to lose, it wouldn't be a bad idea to choose Polkadot. For me, I would wait for Polkadot 2.0 before looking at the project more seriously. I might be late to the party by that time but it's a safer bet (it's the same as waiting for a breakout in trading).

You can also add this as reference https://wiki.polkadot.network/docs/en/learn-launch

2314  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happens to BTC if just a few whales will buy all left supply? on: October 28, 2020, 01:40:23 PM
Let's say they managed that, what will they do next? How long will they be able to hold it without exhausting their own capital? They will have no choice but to unload them if they want to stay liquid. The question is at what price? They can try to manipulate and pump it but that will still be decided by the market. If demand remains high, good for these hoarders. If people decides to move to another market/crypto and let BTC price tank, then disaster for them. Remember, these guys are investors and they want to take profit as much as possible.

No, you didn't! Grin
I'm not a RM fan but I'm disappointed because I lost my bet on them. I don't really care if they get eliminated in the group stage or not.

~ I don't expect the next round without Real Madrid. Because Real is a very big club and they have a big fan base.
Am I reading this right? You think they will go through because of the money the RM fans can generate for the CL?

~
Leipzig are a much weaker team than PSG, but Manchester Utd are a coin toss right now and could very well get trashed by the germans. I'd go double chance Man Utd or BTTS here
Yeah, they're currently unpredictable. Welp, already place MU ML @2.21. I can't decide on BTTS or not. I'm hoping Old Trafford will do its magic  Grin

Speaking of Juve vs. Barca, thoughts on the total goals? Will it be high scoring game?

Just when I thought of depositing to have some of that special deposit bonus you've been giving to other players, you're preparing for a bigger one. Do you still have that (special depo bonus)?

Thank you for hosting the mini UFC tournament btw. If I'm not mistaken, that was the very first made here.
Yes, we will offer you a 10% deposit bonus, no wager requirement. Just send us a pm with your username or player ID after you make a deposit.
Alright. I was expecting a 40% offer but it's better than nothing, all good. I will be sending over the weekend because the fees are insanely high right now.

More than excited to have you on our platform. The UFC tournament is just one of many we are currently hosting.
it's not like I'm new. I created an account when you first launched a marketing campaign here but I haven't played there yet. I just saw your PL tournament which was launched before the UFC. Really nice!

We hosted many giveaways in the past but that which is yet to be announce is going to be massive.
I haven't participated in any of the past events unfortunately but looking forward to the "mother of all promotions".

~ Prizes pool between EPL and UFC the difference is quite far, is there any special reason for this difference in prizes pool?
The prize difference was noticeable. I'm guessing it's because there are more punters in EPL compared to UFC.

It is different story: being a legend player does not equal to be a good coach.
Like it or not, him being a player in the past is part of the reason why he is still there as a coach. He knows the culture like I said and it seems that's what the board likes. You could try and ask the board though.

Furthermore, I don't agree to call Solsa is a legend player of Manchester United. I knew his late goal that brought a Champions League to Old Trafford in the match with Bayern but is it enough to call him as a legend player?
Subjective. This will be a never ending discussion if you start a debate whether he's legendary or not.

As a coach, he has done his job too bad. Last season, the spot to Champions Leauge has big contributions from late appearance of Bruno Fernandes. Solsa contribution is small. He did not make enough substitutions and his key players did almost exhausted in last matches. They protect their spot with luck behind.
Success of the team is also attributed to the players, the other staff, and the coach.

I just started a nice contest sponsored by Betnomi in games and rounds section. You just have to hit 1 x 2 predictions for premier league for a chance to win up to 1 BTC
