2442  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: interesting coin page on: October 04, 2020, 04:01:21 PM

one guestion, this token seems waste but is there a change that this coin will have value?
First of all, it's not a coin, it's a token. There's a big difference. Eth is the coin and Dnat is just one of the many tokens on the ethereum blockchain.

Second of all, value of tokens depends on the team and the community supporting it. Here are things you need to think about:
  • If the team cannot commit to listing the token on exchanges and only hope it will have value one day, is it worth buying?
  • Who else will buy these tokens if the team is that weak?

On a positive note, at least your friend is honest to you. Unlike most project devs who shills their token then dumps on the community.
2443  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BitCoin and bitcoin high transaction fees on: October 04, 2020, 03:23:57 PM
We have nothing to do about the transaction fee of bitcoin.  While bitcoins value keep on increasing, the transaction fee is also increasing but despite of that it was still a good investment. If you want to avoid paying a high bitcoin transaction fee then don't use it. Find another way that you can afford to pay transaction fees which heaper than bitcoin.
It's not necessarily true that transaction fee increases when bitcoin price increases. Do not calculate it in terms of fiat ($). You can still send the same amount of btc at 1 sat/byte (or /vbyte) even if the network is congested but it just takes longer time before it gets confirmed (assuming it's not dropped from the mempool).

Another way to save on fees is to send on weekends. It's quite known to keen observers that the network is not that congested around those times. Based on my experience (literally just hours ago), I'm able to send at 1 sat/vbyte and it was confirmed in 10 minutes.

There are also days that fees are low on weekdays but it doesn't happen so often. Check mempool.space to monitor the network and check their suggested fees too.

^ I didn't notice much of a difference betwen the dark mode chat and the previous one. Can you also point out the improvements in the UI? Nothing changed from my perspective but maybe that's just me. I also didn't see an option to exchange Doge to Btc and vice versa. Where is that hidden?

edit: answer to my last question from the chatbox

2445  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cuong Truong version of Bitcoin logo on: October 04, 2020, 02:10:51 PM
I'm assuming no one likes that new Bitcoin logo.
It's not that bad but I guess nobody else wants a new design. Although it's not official, the BTC has been used for many years already. I have read some post about someone filing a patent for the logo but that's not enough reason to change it or look for another design.
2446  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: October 04, 2020, 01:43:52 PM
Total domination by Holm.  But here's the thing...  Are they giving her another title shotvs Nunes ?  Ugh..  Boring.  I was kinda hoping Aldana would win.  We need new faces to rise up the ranks.
I feel you but Dana won't have a choice if these so called gatekeepers are still good enough to thwart new names. It's these new faces job to "retire" these veterans and take the belt.

About the fight, it was more entertaining than what I expected. Mixing striking (incl. counter-striking) and wrestling surprised me and probably even her opponent. I thought Holm would have finished Aldana when she had the full mount.

Overall, good game plan and adjustments from Holm. She was able to lure Aldana into her own game just like how a Matador lures a Bull.
2447  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Official resellers of hardware wallets. on: October 04, 2020, 01:05:58 PM
~
Again any assurance would be very appreciated.
None of us could assure you that what you're going to buy from unofficial stores/sellers aren't tampered.

Just order from official website and official resellers (link provided in previous comment). By the way, Trezor came up with some security measures against tampering starting from packaging up to software safeguards.

In security design, a tamper-evident hologram or holographic seal makes unauthorized access to the protected object easily detected. A package with TREZOR One is protected by two silver seals on both sides and is wrapped in a thin plastic foil (removed on attached pictures). The packaging is carefully sealed with a strong glue.

~

Apart from the physical tamper-evident hologram, our devices also use software safeguards against tampering. The device firmware and bootloader are signed by SatoshiLabs, and these signatures are checked whenever you start the device. The TREZOR will warn you if the signatures are invalid. Apart from that, we dispatch all of our devices without preinstalled firmware. Therefore your can conveniently check that there isn’t a preinstalled malicious firmware.
2448  Economy / Exchanges / Re: KuCoin Has Found The Hackers Who Stole $281 Million on: October 03, 2020, 05:29:06 PM
Crypto exchange KuCoin has worked out who hacked its cryptocurrency exchange for $281 million.

CEO Johnny Lyu tweeted today that, "After a thorough investigation, we have found the suspects of the 9.26 #KuCoin Security Incident with substantial proof at hand. Law enforcement officials and police are officially involved to take action."

Download The Decrypt App.

The hack took place on September 26. KuCoin said that the hackers used a leaked private key to access the exchange's wallets. KuCoin says that it has enough money in the bank to cover all of its losses.

After the hack, crypto projects worked to freeze or render useless most of the assets. Many teams updated their blockchain to make this happen. Lyu said that $204 million worth of cryptocurrency, or 72% of the total hack, is "out of the control of the suspicious addresses."

Come on mate, don't just copy-paste the article. You even included the ad to download their mobile app.

Pretty disappointed with the announcement. I guess we will just have to wait until the arrest has been made before they disclose more details. It would have been better if it was announced after the suspects were already arrested.
2449  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is anyone here who made good roi with defi? on: October 03, 2020, 01:17:31 PM
You seldom see big time altcoin traders here. I believe a lot of them started here but most of them moved to twitter now. I doubt even the most active posters on the altcoin speculation board actually trades.

My experience from the 2017 ICO boom and bust made me wary of the DeFi trend. I heard about Uniswap before it became popular but I never bothered testing it (too bad).

2451  Local / Altcoins (Pilipinas) / Re: Any USDT (TRC20) to fiat conversion within the Philippines? on: October 03, 2020, 12:40:05 PM
Why not take advantage of Tron's JustSwap dex? Medyo mas marami nga lang dadaanan pero tingin ko hindi naman ganun kalakihan ang fee kumpara sa ibang paraan.

1. Set up TronLink wallet (mukhang hindi supported ang Trust Wallet sa ngayon)
2. Send USDT there then connect wallet to https://www.justswap.io/#/home
3. Swap USDT to TRX
4. Send TRX to Abra
5. Convert to PHP

Kung ayaw mo Abra, pwede naman palit ng route pagkatapos mo ma-convert sa TRX.

2453  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [ANN][EXCHANGE] ▲▼ Exolix - Secure & Anonymous Crypto Exchange Service on: October 03, 2020, 11:22:14 AM
~ I will repeat what I said in a follow up email they specifically asked me for my login credentials/keys and I am willing to let somebody verify it.
Can you post the content of the follow up email like what you did with the first?

@Exolix will you allow refund to the user's address (the same he used to deposit) if he refuses to comply to your request?

I don't think "anonymous" fit here with all the KYC and KYT that you do.

The situation reminds me of a service pretending to be a wallet when, in fact, they will also withhold funds if they think the transaction is suspicious.

2455  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you leverage the power of your Bitcoins? on: October 03, 2020, 10:30:01 AM
I've been lending a small amount for our local folks. It's not that lucrative but still earns.

I've read something about DeFi Apps which allows you to earn interest in btc but your bitcoins needs to be tokenized first (i.e. renBTC, wBTC, hBTC). It's probably the same protocols @avikz is talking about. If you're not comfortable with centralized lending/interest platforms but fine with "converting" it to another type of asset thru DeFi apps for it to earn more, then that's probably something you need to look at.
2456  Economy / Economics / Re: Can DeFi be called Decentralized Bank? on: October 03, 2020, 09:51:10 AM
Apparently, there's already a DeFi project acting as Decentralized bank for digital assets - KAVA

The process of depositing crypto as a collateral to take out loans seems normal but then you can use what you just loaned as leverage to borrow more funds. That doesn't make sense to me and I think they're playing a dangerous game there. With a system like that, I think decentralized banking would collapse sooner or later.

The unfortunate thing that's happening to Bitmex and the timely marketing campaigns could boosts volume on Primebit.

2458  Economy / Gambling / Re: SkirmishBet: provably-fair turn-based strategy 😳😳😳 Multiplayer soon on: October 02, 2020, 04:32:53 PM
~
When you are in battle mana restores 1 per turn (it doest restore by time if you just waiting).  So for battle you should have some weapons which you can use while mana is not enough to you skills. Using weapon or clicking shield will end the turn and after protection phase you get 1 mana restored.
It's was difficult to say how much weapons/potions you need to win a certain battle, it depends on luck.... Maybe 2 weapons would be enough, maybe 6.
Yeah, most of it depends on luck especially if you don't have enough items that will replenish mana. Too bad that you're forced to surrender/escape when you ran out because you can't pay for mana restoration while you're in battle mode. There is also no option for buying item. That's something that players would want but I'm not sure if that would be fair to the game master/s.

2459  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🔥 bestodds.ai | odds comparison site | we help you find the best odds on: October 02, 2020, 03:31:38 PM
~ Other sportsbooks will be added soon, along with more features.

In the meantime, we hope that you keep using our website to find the best odds.
Already bookmarked your website. As suggested, I hope you add Bitsler too (yeah we're biased).

Do you plan on adding more for MMA other than UFC? I know it's the most popular right now but I hope you look into other organizations like OneFC and Bellator.

Odds format and Time setting could also be a pop up when opening the site instead of being hidden in the settings.
2460  Economy / Economics / Re: Stocks fall down due to trump catching the virus on: October 02, 2020, 02:46:13 PM
~ Is the economy dependent on the health of Trump?
It's the uncertainty on what might happen to the economy if Trump steps down due to COVID-19. Sudden change in leadership could either cause panic or investor confidence. The drop isn't that significant though to suggest it's the reason.
