Never invest in HYIP or doublers.
Invest in cloud mining or in alt coin mining...

Cloud mining is a HYIP. You won't make money with it. The companies rely on users continually investing more.

The client keeps on crashing on Windoze 8 had to open it 4 times before I got a connection.

No issues here... is it actually crashing or just not connecting?
2523  Economy / Gambling / Re: SwCpoker.eu | No Banking, Only Bitcoin | Bitcoin Poker 2.0 LIVE NOW! on: October 25, 2015, 07:43:11 AM
IMO, as long as SWC can get their Android app out before Betcoin their traffic will come back. If not, I think the room may be in trouble. I know SWC is working hard to do so, and hope they can pull it off!

Is Betcoin making an android app?!  That's actually amazing news if only because perhaps it will light the fire under these guy's asses (9 months for a beta-version poker app is a little on the slow-side, amiright?).  I've had trouble getting betcoin to work on my linux desktop but I'm going to check them out again if they're finally adding android.

They said they're doing Android and iOS but, like SWC, there is no ETA. So could be a month. Could be years, Tongue.

They were saying that when sealswithclubs went down. Has there been a new announcement?

Yep, they posted about it a couple days ago on their thread, and said they'll make sure everyone knows as soon as they're ready.

Betcoin or swc?  I tried to get the browser client working on Betcoin yesterday but no luck.  I'm basically shocked that no one wants to grab all the business hanging around with no place to play after the demise of sealswithclubs (I miss you pokermavens).

Betcoin did. And yeah, if I wasn't so afraid of hosting one myself, there's a perfect opportunity that includes a well-known software operator and also comes with iOS/Android versions. But due to where I live, not really an option, Sad.
2524  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best way to earn Bitcoins? on: October 25, 2015, 07:41:51 AM
mining if you have free electric Tongue

Free electricity doesn't mean it's profitable. You're burning up your video card/CPU at the same time. Factor in those costs.

when i was instamining alt in the past, it was basically with free electricity, because i was mining for 5 min and then repeat for another coin, and it was everything but not profitable

also if well cooled, usually custom gpu are the best, you can be assured that your gpu would last very long, and anyway gpu are not like asic, they have warranty...

This is one edge of gpu mining: the warranty of the card itself. Nowadays, altcoins mostly are GPU-dependent on their algorithms thus making GPU mining profitable (if in case these coins hit the exchanges). Also, a few cards would probably give you some profit if you mine a low-difficulty coin already out in the exchanges, it's also a plus if you got a cheap electricity.

Overclocking your GPU will void the warranty. I believe mining at 100% will as well. And sadly, nobody has lifetime warranties anymore, Sad.

Because we live in a consumerist economy where the more you consume the better the economy is, fallacy is on.

Regardless, the maximum warranty you get is 5 years here, and that is on TV and PC. For shitty small stuff, 1 maybe 2 years.

They make shittier items for the same price (shrink-flation), to hide the inflation in the economy. So no producer will assume the risk of warranty.

Blame the money printing Smiley

XFX used to give lifetime warranties... and even better, they could be TRANSFERRED twice to new buyers (significantly increasing the resale value of their cards). Sadly, they don't do that anymore, either.

They were a little late on changing during day's of my GPU mining it was all to easy.  Warranty covered a lot and most were in years.   Even if you OC'ed the crap out of they they still would replace if broken.

It really was to good to be true.  So I'm not surprised if they changed.

They reduced it to 1 year I believe, with no transfers. They did that in 2013, and I can only assume it had to deal with mining.

Every "investment" that I have made using BTC has ended up being a sham.

Every single one.

Sucks for you. Every investment I've made using BTC has ended up profitable.

Apparently you're not a knowledgeable investor and should NOT be investing.

All I'm getting is "ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED" when trying to load your site. Trying to see what it's all about but can't due to the error.

I'm getting this as well..
Might want to fix this before asking for investors Smiley

The website is back up and running. My server guy tells me we may have a bad disk that he is going to get replaced.

I have also updated the site to reflect the addition of a few more coins to the pool. I will be updating the OP shortly with some new info as well as a small give away to get things started.

Can you please explain what makes this opportunity worth going after? I get that you're staking coins but why wouldn't someone just buy coins and let them stake? I'm not seeing what's new here.
2527  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Dice game strategy? on: October 25, 2015, 07:27:31 AM
Poker players for example don't have a house edge against them, they are reading people and hoping to beat them

How do you read people if you are playing online? People always say poker is about skill but it is also about luck. If you have a very bad luck then you will get a bad card, you cant beat anyone with the bad card

You can beat anyone with bad hand if you are really lucky but if you are not even you have the best hand, 2 and 3 with different suits will kill you so i think poker is 50% skill and 50% luck

try to beat someone with a high card. I have been playing poker alot and it is not as easy as what you say, even if you have a good card someone sometimes will have a better card than yours

Well, i said if the gambler is really lucky then a bad card can beat a good card thats only if luck is really on the players side otherwise, ofcourse he will lose his hand agaisnt the better one
i wonder if you people forgot to read the subject , its for dice particularly. Smiley

Dice game strategy?

That would require reading. 99% of the people in these forums NEVER read anything, and post off-topic things nonstop as a result.
2528  Economy / Gambling / Re: MoneyPot.com :: The bitcoin gambling wallet on: October 24, 2015, 03:50:06 PM
Do you have it set up to where fees and such go to a separate account than your personal investment one? Kind of trying to grasp why there's such a big difference in what the site has/owes, Smiley.

I guess the thing to note is that the "proof-of-assets" money is merely money to prove I'm solvent, not the exact sites assets. e.g. If you deposit 1 BTC, the sites assets (and liabilities) do go up by 1 BTC, but the money you see on proof of assets is going to be unchanged. Only when the public assets are less than the liabilities, will I dump more money into that address (or might source from it, if there's a run on the site)

I don't provide exact proof of assets, as that would defeat a lot of the builtin privacy features of MoneyPot and it's not particularly important to show which bitcoins I own, but it's extremely important to show that I do own enough bitcoins (to prevent nonsense like operating while insolvent, or even running a ponzi)

Ahhh, got you. Thanks for clarification! That makes sense, and explains a lot, Smiley.
2529  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best way to earn Bitcoins? on: October 24, 2015, 03:48:51 PM
what is this HD mining?

Some coins (like BURST) use a mining algorithm that's based on HDD space, rather than processing intense algorithms for coins. So the more space you have, the more you earn.

This. You're not giving any information at all other than to say it's an "arbitrage opportunity." You need to explain things if you want an investor.
2532  Economy / Securities / Re: Invest in a soon to be large-scale MMORPG with a soon Publishing Contract! on: October 24, 2015, 07:05:18 AM
I would love to hear more about this. I am pretty big in the MMORPG scene, and even run my own news sites and have a lot of connections in the MMORPG world. This is absolutely something I may be interested in, and if so, I can also get it major publicity, Smiley.
2533  Economy / Gambling / Re: LuckyFlop.eu | HOURLY FREE ROLLS | 3MBC/HR PAID TO PLAYERS | 2BTC RAKE BACK on: October 24, 2015, 06:50:24 AM
Just a suggestion: why don't you turn, at least for a trial limited period if not permanently, the hourly NL holdem freeroll into miwed game ones.

I mean you could rotate: NL Holdem, PLO8, Horse, Chinese Poker, PLO, or only some of them or also other (razz, badugi ...).

I'm pretty sure lot of players don't even know what these game are and with the possibility to try then for free they couls like it and play them for real mBTC.

Just an idea. Lets listen to other players/people opinions.

I personally hate HORSE. That said, if it helps the site, I'm all for it.
2534  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where can I invest? on: October 24, 2015, 06:29:31 AM
Invest in bitcoin if you believe in decentralization. Freedom is the winning spirit that would make bitcoin the future.

BTC has actually been a pretty good bet the past few weeks.  Just holding from 230 it remained there for longest times.

Now we have a almost 50 dollar bump per btc... that add's up.  So I would consider just straight BTC holding as of right now (assuming it does not jump back down which nothing can promise)

It's a jump up from 230, sure. A lot of people bought 500+, which is a horrible investment so far (stock market has well outperformed that).

If you bought for 500+ yes it would have been a horrible loss.   Or even higher.   I'm just comparing to recent.  I was there during the day's of high prices.  I could be seen as smart or lucky depending.

During those I had almost all investing into mining rigs... so if they turn a ROI in amount of BTC... it did not matter 1000 per coin or 500 per coin... having more btc then you started with is always a good thing.  I consider myself kinda lucky as I was so much involved in the mining back then, and also I did not use MT Gox to hold for me... so there are multiple things back then that made me last to current day's and feel good with my investment.

Yeah, one of my worst mistakes was buying a 7950 for mining. Paid $300 for it and was able to mine about 1.5 BTC or so before it wasn't profitable anymore. The issue with this is that I could have just spent the money and bought 8 BTC at the time, so while the fiat value is about breakeven, I essentially lost 6.5 BTC as a result (or ~1.7k at today's prices), Sad.

I can't login to the site. It says "Please check the captcha." but there is no captcha in the page. It didn't load. I refreshed several times.
same goes for me, its like been almost 2 weeks i got this kind msg.

Hmm, try clicking this link instead:

http://www.minerfarm.com/login#tologin

That's the only way it will load for me. If I'm just on the login page, it won't work. For some reason, the #tologin makes it work.
this is work Smiley thank you!
and i feel we need wait until the ghs drop really down and repair it, if still have 7ghs or more its not worth for repair, technician is expensive to hire Grin

I've been repairing at 64.99% (or below) myself. I think it's a good median.
2537  Economy / Gambling / Re: POKERSHIBES.EU - Longest-running & Friendliest Crypto Poker Site now accepts BTC on: October 24, 2015, 05:38:11 AM
so there is a 3% fee on BTC deposits? So once I generate a BTC address I can always use the same one? (i.e. I can add it to my address book?)

Yes - the BTC address stays the same, so you can add it to your address book.

why there is a deposit 3% fee? I can't understand that and the fee is too high, and if i deposit dogecoin there, can i also get 200% deposit bonus? If i can, i just deposit dogecoin and can avoid to pay 3% deposit fee.

The fee's there to prevent people from using us as a free exchange - of course you can deposit dogecoin and avoid the fee!  Your first deposit, whatever method you use, will receive the deposit bonus.

I would really like to suggest changing the 3% deposit fee. It think it would be beneficial to the room to change to policy to something like "with a BTC you must rake 3% of your deposit in order to avoid a 3% withdrawal fee". I think by doing something similar it would help drive up the cash game traffic quite a bit, and more folks would take you up on the deposit bonus offer. As of now, it would seem to be cheaper to the player to use a service like ShapeShift to do the BTC->Doge conversion

Have you thought about making a thread at 2+2 about the room?

I want to chime in about a couple things. First of all, I sent an email to support a couple days ago but haven't heard back yet. Wondering how long it usually takes.

Second, I agree wholeheartedly with this idea you posted. It'd be a win-win for everyone and I agree that it should help drive more cash game traffic.

Lastly, how do you determine the value of DOGE when a BTC deposit is made? Like what type of calculation can we do beforehand to see what we'll be getting?
2538  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Dice game strategy? on: October 24, 2015, 05:35:48 AM
The problem is usually the bank roll is so high that you have a small amount of money, maybe over the course of a year the site will make you a little bit of BTC.  But I would not rather have my coins in there for an entire year just incase something happened.

It is proportional to what you risk. If you risk a lot then you will gain alot but sometimes you dont need to wait for a year because some website has a good progress just in a short time and you will make like alot from that , you can withdraw it instant if you feel you make enough profit because you can do that

That is exactly what I am talking about.  If you risk 1 BTC in a 100,000 BTC bankroll, the house gains 10BTC, you basically gain .00001BTC.  That doesn't seem worth it to me..

Thats what Im saying, if you dont want to risk more then dont also please Dont be stupid and make some crazy number like that. The highest bankroll so far is PRC with less than 4,500 bitcoin. No other dice site that allow you to invest has 100,000 bitcoin in their bankroll

I was just making up some number for math sake.

You should not make crazy number then because what you make is not correct and misleading. You can still get a decent profit with 1 btc at 4,200 btc bankroll in a year in PRC because last time the site made like 3k bitcoin of profit. Try to be more rational and responsible in what you write

It could also lose money, and then you've lost. Just because it has profit now doesn't mean that's a guarantee. 10 max. wins and the site has lost over a year worth of profit. Only takes one whale.

Of course you can lose your money but we are talking about a year. In a very long time like a year you are gonna get more profit of course because of the house edge. Variance may be make you lose profit but you will always get a profit if you invest for a year because it will even out sooner or later

I hope this was a joke. JD, one of the highest-wagered sites in Bitcoin's history, if not THE highest, went into the negatives and proves this absolutely wrong. You're downplaying a real scenario that has happened MULTIPLE times because you clearly haven't ever actually WATCHED these things and are basing your SUBJECTIVE OPINIONS on something that's completely false. Quit misleading people.

CAN it pull a profit after a year? YES. WILL it? NOBODY KNOWS.
2539  Economy / Gambling / Re: MoneyPot.com :: The bitcoin gambling wallet on: October 24, 2015, 04:40:43 AM
Don't forget that the first account shown in https://www.moneypot.com/proof-of-liabilities.txt belongs to Ryan (he mentioned that somewhere in this thread in the past), so the actual liabilities (that is the total account balance of all MP users) of moneypot would be more like 777 - 170 = 607 btc.

Yes, that is correct, I'm the first in that list =)

Sometimes it's a bit tricky, but I do try keep a clear distinction between the site as an entity and me personally. So I'd definitely say the sites liability is actually 777 btc =) For all intents and purposes, I'm just a normal investor/creditor  (although the only one who enjoys no counterparty risk)

Does this essentially mean that 223 BTC of it is yours, and the site essentially has 25% more money than is needed to pay off all debtors?

Well, from the sites perspective, I'm just a normal creditor and would be treated as such. It's also important that my investment is covered by the proof of solvency, or there would be nothing would prevent me hiding I was insolvent (or faking a bankroll, or running a ponzi)

Do you have it set up to where fees and such go to a separate account than your personal investment one? Kind of trying to grasp why there's such a big difference in what the site has/owes, Smiley.

Yeah... I really think they should pass it off/sell it to someone else who can manage it better. But I question whether or not their reputation is already destroyed with most publishers due to the past.
