how the bet-mining works? i just waggered 22k rubies but i did not see any bet-mining earn in my account

You get 3 RBIES for every 0.1 BTC wagered. You don't "bet-mine" using RBIES -- just BTC.
1582  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it better to save money or invest it? on: March 21, 2016, 02:53:41 AM
Investing is the good part between these to (save or invest) because when saving money the value of the money decreases when some years are passed, with a good investment strategy we can earn good profit.

how abut investing your money at your self, like buying book? learning at private school, try make new way like open small bussiness?
i think it's a good way to invest our money, because we will found more experience where the experience make our skill increasing.

Out of everyone here, you're the first one on the right track. You won't make money through someone else -- you make it through yourself. All the wealthy have one thing in common: they run their own businesses.

I just found this thread and love the idea.  But I'm a little confused.

The OP says that for every 1BTC wagered in the past on betterbets, we get 20rubies.  I checked my BB account have have wagered a little over 11BTC, but the "Bet-mining rubies earned" says 0.  How do I 'claim' the 220 rubies I earned from previous bets?  Thanks to anyone who can help.

They should already be credited on your account, make sure to change the "coin to bet with" to Rubies or you will not see them in your balance until then. PM me your user name if you still have problems and we will check the account.

Got it, thanks.  I actually had over 1k in there, is there some sort of in-bankroll shared mining rewards going on?

I asked them the same question they worried about centralized mining and too much focus on Betterbets so idk maybe community can get some kind of pool together. Or when more businesses launch Rubies may be chances there. I understand their point on it for dispersion of staking.

Yeah I don't understand what that means.  I'm saying that based on my "total wager" statistics, I should have had 220 and instead I had over 6x that amount.  Was wondering if there was any reason for that.

They had random giveaways as well, so they are probably just related to that.

Technically, anyone can start their own shared pool. Give each person an address, stake/merge as needed for each individual, allow people to pull out when they want.

Do you have a system set up to show assets and debts, proving solvency?

Hello ranlo,

We don't have this system. What suggestions do you have ? We have always paid our players.

William,

Basically anything you can do to prove you have equal (or more) assets than liabilities. Ponzis also pay their members 'always' -- up until they don't. I'm in no way saying you're not legitimate, but cryptos bring about the ease of being able to prove ownership of funds, and that should be utilized to help give confidence.
1586  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bank or Bitcoin Wallet? on: March 20, 2016, 11:16:58 PM
i would choose to use bitcoin wallet Wink

I think we have to use both wallet and banking services, especially nowadays we need bank accounts to pay some bills or make some payments we can't use Bitcoin to pay it as it's not supported everywhere till now at least

If BTC were accepted everywhere, it would be regulated prior. This regulation would make BTC no different from current ACH methods, and would kill the entire purpose of using it.
BTC would be regulated if the people were to let it be regulated. This means that various things would have to happen, but arguably there would be no way for Bitcoin to ever be officially be regulated if it was the primary currency and the people had enough trust in it.

It won't be the 'primary currency.' It's a niche thing. People don't even trust gold, which is physical and can be held in your hand, PLUS has uses outside of monetary storage. Pass one hurdle at a time.

1588  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many people own 21 BTC aproximately? on: March 20, 2016, 11:06:08 PM
21 BTC = 21x410 $ = 8610 $ , it is not small number but I think there are many people have this number . almost gamblers or traders

The entry point is already high enough for like 99% of people out there... I mean ask if someone you know would be willing to put near 10k in Bitcoin.
Even if they had a decent amount of money, they would be reticent because they would not know what Bitcoin is, maybe they have heard it a couple of time in some lame headlines. Thats why anyone holding 21 BTC is such a pioneer.

And the smart thing is to have no more than 5% in risky investments. So if you have 10k invested in BTC, you should have 190k elsewhere.

thanks,

To be honest, I didn't watch the entire thing, but I did watch some of it. I can say you've really gotten better at this though. This was a lot more natural and felt less 'forced' or uncomfortable than usual!

I would surely invest my money into gold and bitcoin as I think both will perform better in future, as the money from saving is limited and will not help in long run.

Yes diversifying the investment is a smart move to make as you it will reduce the percentage of risk and if all products performs well in future then its a win win situation.

You're not 'diversifying' by putting your money into two things. I really wish some of you non-investors would quit giving people horrible life advice in an attempt to sabotage them for whatever sadistic purpose you have.

True some people should know when to be silent, however if you process all of this information as advice there is something terribly wrong with you. If you want to chat you use bitcointalk.org if you want investment advice you hire/find an expert.

Read the posts: "surely," "smart move," "definitely" -- all of these are key words for giving advice. And it's horrible advice, which is what leads more and more newbies to losing everything, then leaving cryptos and warning others to stay away. It's this crap that's holding us back. If people would quit being morons, the forums -- and the crypto economy -- would be a much better place.

IMO banks are slow when it comes to sending and receiving payments from one bank to the other. if you send or receive money from and to the same bank, then it's instantly. but i will always choose offline storage over a bank when it comes to bitcoin which is a clear advantage.

Not only slow, they charge you for it. What i really hate is that most banks (my bank included) hold your money. Suppose you need to sent 10k to someone, I first need to call them to upgrade my limit. Which is how things work in a madman world right? So for me offcourse the bitcoin wallet.

Weird. I've never been charged OR limited on sending before. You need a better bank.
1593  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I've got $20k to invest. Please recommend! on: March 20, 2016, 09:04:55 PM
Hey folks,

I've finally got around $20k to invest in long-term. No, unfortunately I cannot put this on a bank to get like 10-15% per year, I'd need something way more good.
What would you recommend? Mining? Other crypto?

Investors, please get me some cool ideas.

Thanks in advance,
Marcell
if you need cool ideas, try to invest on gambling site,or btcjam, and the coolest way to invest that big amount is,you can invest it on startup, build and help that startup for earn so many profit.

"Invest" 100% of it in BTCJam! Yes. This is the fastest way possible to lose everything. Great advice.

Why don't you try to invest your money and buy bitcoins and try to lend it in lending section that has 10% percent interest ever week or 1 percent per day.. or just hold your bitcoin and wait for the price increase and sell it when the price reach high above $500 before halving ends.. so that you can make lots of profit than investing it the banks low interest..

20K USD is nearly 50BTC and lending is a very risky business that takes a lot of time to review each application and check their collateral for value and validity.
also there are a lot of people doing it, it is not like there is a lack of lender. besides most of the loans are as big as 0.1BTC max and lending more than that requires bigger collateral and different difficulties.

Swaps should be relatively safe (Bitfinex/Polo) for lending. Much lower interest rate but almost no risk.

I'd really like to see these events happen again in the future. They're different and it looks like you got a decent number of people involved!

There are many posts about games wher I can earn HYPER, but where I can spend HYPER?

One of the best -- since it's for gamers -- is Key4Co.in. It gives massive discounts on Steam and other games. There are more available as well, but that's by far my favorite.

I would save my some money in banks and test I would like to invest into bitcoins, saving will pay me in peanuts but that is assured money I can have at the time of emergencies.

Banks are the worst way to store funds. Worst. You are LOSING money by putting it into banks, solely due to inflation. Even govt. bonds are better than this.

which coins i can mine with this scrypt miner?
more than ltc or doge?

scrypt is also x11 as example - correct?

scrypt and x11 are different algorithms..this mines only scrypt coins.

Hmmmh, thanks.
But scrypt is not profitable Sad

People use this mostly as cheap little lottery miners. They cost next to nothing to run, and you have a chance of making about $100 if you get lucky Wink

Hmm, I wonder what the chances are of recouping the ~$30 off one though. I guess it's cheap enough that even if you don't, you aren't out a lot.
