1701  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BTCjam - Any Thoughts or Experiances on: February 29, 2016, 12:26:55 AM
Well its a nice move to only lend to fully verified people and keep up the risk minimum as possible.Talkimg about the unverified accounts there is still some rism but still guys favour to invest in their listing as they give up a high interest rate. Some comes out paying their lenders while some not.So the main game is setting up of an investment plan to reap up high profit at low risk by investing in multiple listings and making a smart investment move which is my way of investing. Cheesy
Even if you diversify, a default would cost you the profits of 10 other investments so it's still very risky IMO. (And 10% default is probably very conservative)

If you only deal with the top-rated people, the risk should be lower. Still not nearly what you'd get elsewhere but still isn't as abysmal as you insinuate.
1702  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can bitcoin rise up to 800$ this year ? on: February 28, 2016, 07:16:45 PM
Why stop at 800? Because we're going to 8000!!!
because he is talking about within this year not within upcoming 10 years. Wink

Technically, with all the stuff going on in the world, and block halving coming up... this year should be our best in terms of pricing for a while. If we don't have major jumps this year it's going to be a while.

the overall price rising is still there. so bitcoin price is going to go up no matter what happens because with each day passing there are new companies and new users that start buying bitcoin.

so i guess even if there is not bubble (jump) in the price, those of us who have bought bitcoin already are still in good position.

I disagree with your claim. If it were guaranteed to go up, the stock market would be dead right now because every investor in the world would be dropping their stocks to go all-in on BTC.

BTC is still a test. It's still a theory. It could still drop to zero.

You bring up companies/users... they use the blockchain. It's EASY for a site to switch from BTC to ETH, DOGE, whatever. There is nothing proprietary about BTC.
1703  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Is faucet profitable ? on: February 28, 2016, 05:52:16 PM
I think faucet isn't profitable anyway nowadays
it's consuming a lot of time and effort to give you some micro earning

This is always funny to read. At one point faucets were giving away 1 BTC per claim (some would give up to 5 BTC per claim but once a day/week) and people said the same thing.
1704  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ◆Rubies◆ [RBIES] Unique distribution | Backed by established business at launch. on: February 28, 2016, 03:43:14 PM
For transparency, part of the cold storage coins will be used during March Madness phase 2 distribution. You will see coins moved from this address: http://blockexplorer.betterbets.io:8080/address/RKeqS7wKjCG1tRanXAWFCCWizdhpH8SA1h to fund people who earn more Rubies each Sunday during March. (this will make more sense March 1st.)

Hope everyone is enjoying their coins, it would appear so as the first use-case for Rubies is showing the following statistics:

Total Bets: 148,169,445   Rubies volume Wagered: 175,996,920

This is an enormous amount of volume for 14 days, and we are very confident the upcoming announcements will further cement the foundation by strengthening the goals of a long lasting and proud currency for all users.

Just to add on to your statistics, as of right now, it's the equivalent of 14,959.7382 BTC! Or 6,619,000 USD.
1705  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: Ore-Mine.org topic locked. on: February 27, 2016, 09:18:42 PM
how sad that so many scam sites ... Sad
Sad but that is the real world such things will always happen. Still this can make me really mad but it don't help to be mad all the time. Next time people need to think twice before they trust people any Bitcoin who hide there identity.

You're walking down the street and a random person stops you and says "Hey, if you give me $100, I'll meet you here and return $200 to you in a week. You don't need my name, you don't need any information about me. Just trust that I'll do it." Do you do it? If not, you probably shouldn't do it online.

If it was that obvious, no one would ever fall for it. But what really happens is, the guy walks up, says 'Give me $1, and I'll bring back $2 in a week', and you say 'it's only $1, sure', and he brings you back $2 later, so you decide to trust him with $2, then $5, then $10, then $20, then $50, then $100 - and then he doesn't come back!

But some people jump in with $50 or $100 too late, and lose it all.

Considering it's the oldest scam in the book... if people still haven't figured it out after thousands of years, they probably never will. All I can say is "survival of the fittest." People that get caught up in this stuff can't blame anyone but themselves.

1709  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bank or Bitcoin Wallet? on: February 27, 2016, 06:37:35 AM
Price rise of Bitcoin is better than the interest you earn with a bank. So I would definitely choose Bitcoin wallet.

This is true. Those that spent $1200 per Bitcoin are extremely happy about their massive return over the past 2 years.

On faucets owner, you can profit if you have so much traffic or patrons visiting always your site.To attract more surfers, you need to have promotions and give aways etc. this is another expenses.

On the surfers side, its a minimal earning and some sites offers a lowest price.its a waste of time and effort.
Is this allowed if you are in Google adsense .  I mean this i like buying visitors?

If traffic is real, you're fine. If it's fake, you risk getting banned. Things like P2C should be safe. But if you really want to be safe, find networks that are 100% confirming they're fine.
1712  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can bitcoin rise up to 800$ this year ? on: February 27, 2016, 03:12:59 AM
I think we could see $800 mark sometime this year around June.

What happens in June? Generally speaking, people start pulling money around summer to move, go on vacation, etc. If anything, we should see a drop around that time.

That's true in theory you would expect to see a drop, however I think in the summer time more people will be off of school and have a lot of free time and extra money and the price should go up. Maybe not $800 price range but I think it will be an increase from the previous month.

Traditionally, though, the opposite is true. As far as I can tell by charts, it looks like the only time when this wasn't true was in 2013 when BTC was all over the news. Past that, you can see clear drops during summer in other years.
1713  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Just-Dice.com : now with added CLAMs : Play or Invest on: February 27, 2016, 03:10:13 AM
At these stage Just-Dice on CLAM is pointless. Imagine if you win, you will lose too much money when you try to sell CLAMs on Polo, with little volume and  lower and lower price every day.
For that reason you will still play and lose at the end. These is good for the house but still will end bad with lots of worthless CLAMs.
If you win 10.000 CLAMs you will need to sell them for half of the price. Over that amount is impossible to sell.
To put it simply; CLAM is copy-shit-coin and will ruin Just-Dice reputation.

Actually, that is very true. If someone wins the entire bankroll of JD aka 100k clams, then he'll have extreme trouble cashing them out. He might even lose bitcoin in the end since he probably bought his clams with BTC. If someone wins even 10% of that bankroll, the clam price would crash like hell.

Or, the person who won them could be smart about how he sells them and not crash the price.  He'd have to be patient, but there are actually plenty of CLAM buyers.  The trick is obviously not to overwhelm them, instead, sell off a little per day and you're fine.

This exactly. Take it slow and smart. Not only do you leave the price propped, but you gain a LOT more money out of it as well. Though I'd argue speculators would start dumping if a big win like that happened, since 99% of the people in the crypto world aren't smart enough to know how to sell to markets properly and would just dump all at once.

So you got 16k sign-ups in 4 days? When even the major news sites would barely pull that much traffic? Can you please post analytics of your domain?

Charts don't show up for me in Chrome. Console logs show the following error: "Uncaught ReferenceError: Hh is not defined"
Looking into it.

Edit: Does clearing your cache have any effect? Do you have any plugins which may effect how things are loaded?

Everything's good to go now Smiley I cleared my cache and disabled Adblock for that page, and it's working fine now. It seems to be Adblock that was giving it trouble.

Weird. Since yours was fixed I loaded the page again just now and it works fine here too. I had adblock off all yesterday and had no effect.
1717  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] HaoBTC, mining dividend paid out hourly on: February 26, 2016, 10:57:26 PM
I have a feeling they will be reduced no matter what is "locked in". Will wait for a clear answer on that, but I'm pretty sure they will go to the 6% and start increasing from there.

If they did that, what would be the point of committing to an entire year of being locked in? That kills the entire purpose from the investor's perspective.

Just thought of something, if you need in-game music, could have a word with Cypherfunks https://soundcloud.com/thecypherfunks

Thanks for the suggestion Varvarin. I will definitely keep them in mind for audio assets if we need any.

JT has also offered to do epic voiceovers (thanks JT!).

At this stage I want to keep the game light on bandwith use for both the server and the players, so there may not be much sound at all.

But a video introducing Crypto Galaxies before it launches might be pretty awesome.

Can you do like an app that's downloaded when you visit the site (I'm thinking like Runescape), with the sound part of that? Then just call those files as needed.

Interest rate change

Anticipating block reward halving in the summer of 2016, HaoBTC has decided to implement a new interest structure starting May 1.
As a result, the interest rate of Wallet, the flexible interest wallet, will be lowered from the current 3% APR to 2% APR; the starting interest rate of Finance, the fixed term account, will be lowered from the current 12% APR to 6.8% APR; the monthly increment percentage for Finance account will stay unchanged.

Thanks for the info.

What happens with accounts where the interest rate is higher, eg. 14%, does the account with a higher interest rate will be reduced to 12% of base?
Is the table of growth rates in dependence on the investment time is already available?

Existing lock-ins should remain the same (hence you locking in for x period). It should just affect new ones.
