1741  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ◆Rubies◆ [RBIES] Unique distribution | Backed by established business at launch. on: February 21, 2016, 02:58:28 PM
Currently there are 11 Stakeholder spots left out of 40 total. These 40 spots will make up 3 million Rubies which must be held in wallets to receive dividends on the 1st of each month. Stakeholders get access to a private chat and are intended to serve as guardians of the coin. Please read the OP for details.

It seems the stakeholders places are going really fast, with this speed they will be gone in no time. Most likely by the end of next week there will be none left. Then it will be all about development and bringing both BB and Rubies more action and popularity. I am pretty sure that the people who are now invested in BB and Rubies will help out and promote the site because it will be in their best interests to have both the site and BB grow. Looks like a win/win situation.

They are definitely going quick. And my group buy is still open with spots. If anyone's interested, get in touch with me ASAP though -- with spots filling as fast as they are, they won't last much longer.

do you have any sig campaign ?

Use the affiliate system and you can earn from that. Not really a sig. campaign literally, but still pays!

Wow Burger King in the Netherland now accepts bitcoins Smiley A great news for all bitcoiners.

http://www.newsbtc.com/2016/02/19/burger-king-in-the-netherlands-accepts-bitcoin-and-hosts-meetups/

Wow this is just great news. We need more of this huge companies to accept bitcoin and believe me bitcoin will get mass adoption in no time.
This kind of news make my day.

Read my previous post. This is not a huge company -- it's a franchise. Burger King has NOT started accepting BTC... a single owner of ONE of the tens of thousands of locations has. Two VERY different things.
1744  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Burger King Accepts Bitcoin on: February 20, 2016, 11:52:34 AM
Guys, I don't think this is all Burger Kings... it's a franchise. This is like saying "McDonald's now has video games!" when there's just one that has it and it's local to you. Franchisees are all different. One accepting BTC simply means the person that owns that specific one likes BTC.
1745  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BTCjam - Any Thoughts or Experiances on: February 20, 2016, 11:49:06 AM
Sigh...

See dude, that's the whole point. People fall all over themselves thanking BTCJam for their help, and now it somehow legitimizes their operation. Or that they're doing a better job. It is, certainly, better to get paid something for your investment in a loan. But its not just about protection from scammers, no one thinks about what kind of position Jam (or any other similar platform) is in when they provide these loans.

When a loan gets submitted BTCJam requests much more information from the borrower when they apply for the loan, than an investor, understandably. But then a loan becomes late, people start dumping notes a huge discount, then it becomes overdue, people start dumping notes at an even bigger discount. All the while, Jam, who has already collected their fee when the loan was funded, now has the ability to sift through the documentation provided by the borrower and determine with much more certainty than any investor ever could on that site ever could whether that borrower has the assets or the ability to pay off that loan regardless of whether a judgment was put against that borrower or not. Pursuing litigation is great, but if there are no assets, the lender will still be left with nothing. So now that investors are fucked, Jam can sit back in a position of leverage and cherry pick notes from defaults that they can scoop up at highly discounted values off investors who don't have the information to accurately assess the value of these notes.

Has BTCJam debt collections ever announced beforehand that they would be buying notes on a given loan? If your answer is no, have you ever wondered why? You bet your ass I would price a note much higher to an individual or entity who had a superior ability to assess the value of that note than myself.

So, the investor is left with the option to to pay a lawyer to find out the information that jam already SHOULD have. What was that fee for at Jam then?

BUT NOW THAT YOU ALL KNOW THAT BTCJAM DEBT COLLECTIONS ARE BUYING NOTES FOR DEFAULTED BORROWERS HOW ABOUT YOU START PRICING NOTES AT VALUE MINUS 5% FEE THAT JAM ALREADY COLLECTED WHEN THE LOAN WAS FUNDED. That seems fair right? You are, after all, not selling to another investor, who if they wanted to collect would have to pay someone else to find out the same information that jam already has which is what you would theoretically be paying that fee for, to provide an accurate credit rating.

It really is a great business model that they have.

I can't completely blame Jam. If they did give out all of that info, borrowers would surely balk and there would be another site without such restrictions where they would go and investors chasing returns would then flock to that site.

Nothing will change until people demand better. I like the idea of crowdfunding loans, but this system is broken, severely. As others have said, posting collateral is an option, and it is certainly sound, but no provider of a platform will provide such an option if the competitors don't and the investors don't seem to mind.

I just want to say that this explanation is exactly how I view it. I haven't personally heard of anyone being tracked down/sued/etc. by BTCJam, despite the massive number of scams there. That in itself should speak wonders.

IF you invest there, you have to do it as just that -- an investment. Not a loan. Expect to have x% of them defaulted on. You just have to hope that the ones that don't default earn enough to compensate for those that do (it's akin to diversifying stocks -- you don't care if a couple tank, you care if the batch, as a whole, are positive).

I think there is an error again in rubies balance. Please fix it. Suddenly my balance become 200 rubies

I was working on turning the multi-coin bet back on and ran into a problem. Your rubies balance is fine but it would display your BTC balance, even when rubies was selected. I put the site into maintenance mode and am hacking full speed to get this resolved and turn the site back on.

Apologies. I should be back up soon.

If you're reading this please do me and yourself a favor and don't bet for the next 15-20 min. I need to turn the site back on to do some testing, it may behave irrationally during this time.

Things seem to be working again OK; Looks like we're good to go. If you notice anything weird, please let us know here.

Apologies for all the issues we've faced over the past 24 hours, it was a crazy time where non of us got a lot of sleep which is now hopefully behind us for good.

Thanks for the update and your hard work! Smiley

++BB!

It is something that can be considered, but would need to add after ROI is achieved first. There are only 33 spots left for stakeholders now for those interested in site dividends read the OP for details.

You sold 7 spots just in such a short time span? thats a great achievement. You should put up a list of wallet address for all this stakeholders so people could monitor the action of this stakeholders wether they are holding or wether they have transferred their funds to the wallet to do some action to the market. Just a suggestion anyway goodluck

I disagree with this proposal. Those that bought a profit share should not be forced to be transparent about it. Those who wish to are able to do so on their own already.

We feel the same, unless they want to state it publicly it's a privacy concern for stakeholders but we appreciate the suggestions nonetheless.

Everyone please make sure you are staking some Rubies in your wallets to help promote the health of the blockchain, proof of stake will reward you by earning more Rubies for doing so. We know some of you are new to this type of coin and our mods are creating a step by step tutorial to guide you through the usage of the Rubies wallet and making videos to help with understanding the fundamentals.

On the Rubies staking thing, it's highly recommended to leave the wallet running as much as possible. That said, you may also want to condense inputs occasionally (I usually condense at around 20 or so inputs). The single block will stake much faster so you deal with less variance.

Also, for those that are interested in the group buy, definitely check out the details. It's a great way to get involved with BB's success, as well as Rubies -- without having to manage everything yourself!

Yuri is running a fractional reserve exchange.....
He's a dirty ass scammer, and I got the proof of his shady shit.
I told you yuri, dont fuck with me, but you never listened and thought you were bigger then everyone.
You're lucky that I been outa town for the last few weeks, but next wekk im back in action and everyone here will know the truth.
Fuck it,
I'll start the ball rolling now..... https://twitter.com/EMC2Whale/status/700863236040622080
If I was you, and I had money on ccex, i'd be moving it out as fast as possible. He's running low on funds, uses client deposits to fund his travels and then makes deals with the devil and fucks up.
See yall in a week or so.

I'm missing something I think... I don't understand what the image is supposed to be showing/proving?

Did you already rescan the blockchain? 99.999% of the time that's all it takes.

Hi ranlo, i check in the Debug Window| console |cmd : help| , and i did not see the cmd rescan, i think it only exist in the bitcoin core.

Im not sure. Only mammix2 the developer can respond to that.

Cheers!! ●‿●

Hmm, I've used it on every altcoin I've messed with as well without issues. Should be present in everything. Even there in LTC, FTC, DOGE, etc.

Hi,nickaizoku.Verify if your wallet have the same blocks as the blockexplorer.

Steps to check:

1) Go to Debug Windows, which is found on the Help menu of the wallet
2) look at the 'Current number of block' figure

Check it against the block explorer http://blockexplorer.betterbets.io:8080

Cheers!! ●‿●

checked and its same block with the explorer.. is anything missing or wrong what im doing? i believe i done everything alright..
i just lost all my stacking coin.. the leftover was not staking coin..

and as we can see in blockexplorer im still at number 72.. which i stated before.. i have 1600 in wallet but in explorer i have 1200 coins

Did you already rescan the blockchain? 99.999% of the time that's all it takes.

thanks for the guide guys, i finally got it and syncing new wallet right now..
next step is i need to close my wallet after syncing? and replace my copy wallet.data into the rubies folder again?
is this correct steps?

edited: ive copy my wallet.data to new folder, but i lose my staking coin.. Sad how can it be done actually lol

Hi, nickaizoku. Yes,
...
7. Close the wallet again;
8. Replace the new wallet.dat for the older one;
9. Run the wallet again.
10. Unlock the wallet to stake.

After this steps, you can see your coins in there, and the wallet will started staking.

Keep playing at betterbets.io

Cheers!! ●‿●

seriously my old coin gone..
i have 1500.. after new wallet and staking and it show i have only 300 coin left. lol
i still have my old wallet data.. but still cant retrieve it. weird..
yea i done all the steps here..

My transaction in new updated wallet

my current updated wallet.

You need to do --rescan (I believe is the command). The wallet holds all data BUT if you add the wallet after you've synced, you're missing a lot of blocks. You'll need to rescan the database to fix that.

any Idea when the Windows Wallet will be fixed to not eat up 30-40% of my CPU Cycles ?

And RAM usage. I'm worried about both of those myself.

BTW, thanks HYPER, for the bounty!

Can we stake Rubies using the same wallet.dat on more than one device?

Hi

No there can only be unique wallet.dat files connected to the network, or 1 of those wallets will show with (conflicting TX)

Since I see this question a lot, I'm curious as to why you'd want to. There is zero benefit even if you could -- how long it takes doesn't mean anything, as you will eventually get the same number of coins regardless. In most staking wallets, I only open them every 60-90 days (meaning I stake every couple months). Then I merge the two inputs and close it out again for a couple months.

This part seems to be incorrect:

Quote
A full 5 BTC ROI would require 250 BTC in profit, which equates to approximately 25,000 BTC in volume,

or less than 2,100 BTC per month.

Does Betterbets make 1% of every bet wagered? IIRC it is close to 0.5%

Good catch... you're right, it should be 0.5% of 1% (so the total needed is 2x that). Thanks for the heads-up! It's now been corrected in the document. And technically it should be less I believe (it's 0.5% of the house edge, which depends on the game).
