2581  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: February 11, 2022, 11:11:21 AM
^^ It is very unnatural for the Warriors to lose again, another back to back lost for them after winning 9 straight. Still though they are in the second spot behind Phoenix but Grizzlies is catching them up, only 2.5 games separating them.

As for the Phoenix win, I'm not surprised, they've boasted to have one of the best road record and they put  a good defense on Giannis. Plus DA has one of his best games this season.
2582  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: February 11, 2022, 09:56:56 AM
Nice trade for 76ers, I don't know what would Nets do with Simmons. Drummond is a good addition and first round draft picks may come with good players in the long run but all these don't worth for Harden. They could get better players for Harden, I don't think they used him for a good trade.
Harden and Embiid may work well just like Shaq and Kobe or a better example, Mutombo and Iverson. I guess Sixers expect at least conference finals this year after this great trade.

I think Ben Simmons kind of tick a spot that the Nets has been missing, he's a great perimeter defender and he's also a good passer, he surely not a good shooter but I don't think the Net's would need him to do that since they've got Seth Curry as an addition, the Nets have really not been good defensively, so I think both teams got a good deal, but imo more for the Nets than for the 76ers, barring the fact they were able to be rid off a player that's got his soul and mind out from the franchise already.

Would you really play him in crunch time though?

I wouldn't trust him to hit free throws to save his life, and heck, if you criticize him too much he might just quit on his team again like with the 76ers.

Personally, the more I look at it, the more this seems like a bandaid solution to a long term issue. Nets have way too much going on and if you are counting on Seth Curry to win your championship, you're in deep trouble.

No, because we are going to see hack-a-ben situation, and then him missing those crucial free throws.

I don't think though that the Nets is counting Seth to bring them a ring, but it could open up the lane if he started to hit that 3's.

Lots of experiment on the part of Nash here specially once Durant is back.
2583  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Shakur Stevenson vs Oscar Valdez 130-pound Title Unification Fight on: February 11, 2022, 09:02:45 AM
Both fighters are battle-tested but I like Valdez aggressiveness and toughness I'm sure there will be thrash talks between the two, Valdez must win this fight convincingly to erase the Robson Conceição controversy and prove to the boxing fans that he is the real champion, there will be excitement in the build-up leading to this fight as both are champions.
Both fighters are equal and I'm sure it will be hard for bettors to figure out who is the big favorite

For the record, the controversy is that Valdez was caught with PEDs.

True, this is hard for bettors to decide where to put our money. As you have said, both are battle tested and coming from a win. And this is not just another fight as this is unification and I'm glad that both of this fighters have agreed.

I'm interested to see what will be the opening odds, as who will be the slight favorite.
2584  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain gaming is the way of the future. on: February 10, 2022, 01:45:32 PM
Even in a bear market, blockchain gaming is the way of the future. I believe that games like Axie Infinity and others will continue to thrive because many people are already making a living from blockchain games, and the adoption rate will never slow down.

The only question is that how the market will be in the future, I mean if it gets saturated, for sure many blockchain gaming might not prosper. And remember that Axie is a prime mover, so obviously many are into it up to today so that price will likely to thrive even in bear market.

But how about others who is just a copy cat? and just like the hype of the ICO in 2017, some of them didn't survived and so this is what I'm seeing in the blockchain gaming industry.
2585  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: February 10, 2022, 12:27:58 PM
^^ Yes, I watch the first few minutes and they were perfect, and I think the score of Jazz is just 2 points and they have like 13 or more points.

But they went on a shooting slump, 2nd to 4th quarter, it was not good to watch the Warriors losing this kind of ugly game as they have been so hot. This could have been their 10 win in a row, Curry only 16 points.
2586  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: February 10, 2022, 11:46:06 AM
Bulls contributed to Hornets' losing streak last night by defeating them 121-109. Hornets have been losing for six weeks now. When it comes to the performances of the players, DeRozan played extra again and scored 36 points. LaVine was right behind him by 27 points. These players both had a big role in this win. Bulls really fascinate me by their awesome effort in the regular season. If they keep this up in the playoffs too, they might get really close to the finals too after a break of many years.

It's inconsistency on the part of the Hornets, and when Hayward goes down, and so is the team. They are very strong contender for the playoffs, but they have to bring some specially after the all star break.

They close the gap in the fourth quarter, but DeRozan and Vecuvic and then White hitting 3 at the corner did it for the Bulls. So it's good to see the Bulls are back because DeRozan are healthy now.
2587  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin closing balance on exchanges on: February 10, 2022, 08:50:08 AM
Balance from exchanges has been decreasing for a long time now and we had many price declines. So this is not always an accurate indicator.

True that's why I was surprise to see this thread.

There are many reasons why bitcoins leave exchanges, one can be security. Many hear about hacking attempts and  get a hardware wallet. Another reason can be that bitcoins value increased so people’s exposure is much higher than before. When Bitcoin was in the 4 digits many weren’t worried because it wasn’t worth as much.

As the old adage goes, "not your keys, not your coins". So there's no point of putting your whole stash of bitcoin in an exchange because of an event of a hack or if the exchange suddenly freezes your account, you can't do anything about it. So that is a bad practice to leave your bitcoin even in the best exchanges right now.
2588  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Casimero vs Butler ordered by WBO on: February 09, 2022, 12:48:05 PM

I only know that he is calling either Inoue or Donaire, but he was not given a chance to get the fight so he keeps his trash-talking technique but it seems not effective. If he will go up, he won't be a champion anymore so probably he will become a mandatory fighter if he will be in a good ranking.

The problem is he's been calling the champs on the same division but they are not responding to his expectation, what would happen to the sport if champions are afraid to fight his fellow champion and will just use an excuse to justify their refusal to fight. Casimero deserves a chance, they cannot say that they will not fight him because he trash talk a lot and they got insulted, that's so soft of them.

Inoue though did respond right? but as we have discussed a few pages back, still up to his promoter Bob Arum. And as we have said, Arum has the history of protecting his fighters specially his cash cow.

But most likely if he win against Butler, it's just a matter of time either Inoue or his fellow Pinoy Donaire will be next. That is the only fight we wanted to see in this division.
2589  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: February 09, 2022, 11:11:44 AM
My early pick for tomorrow is the Warriors against the Utah Jazz, +2.5. Again they are the underdog in this game, similar to what the odds for the Suns vs Sixers. And yet the Suns won the game because they are the best in the West.

So perhaps there is an argument for the Warriors here, they are in the winning streak and chances are high that it will continue to 10.
2590  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: February 09, 2022, 10:17:04 AM
Today he's playing against Delbonis. If seems like the odds are above 2.5 for Delpo. In the last five matches Delbonis have lost four matches. It is clear that the injuries that hurting the performance. This match is predicted to be win for Delbonis. Anyhow before revealing his announcement on retirement going for a bet on him is good.
Delpo did not have a chance, injuries plus that big pause left their mark and his timings were off. He started with a break and then lost most of the remaining games. Too bad, would love that he managed to get a win on his last tournament.

Yeah, it is obvious that his best years are behind him, and you can call that he is very rusty. That injuries throughout his career really sap out the best of him and as much as he wanted to compete and bring back the clock, it's not going to happen. A win is good here, but it's not really meant for him to have a win in his last tournament.
2591  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: February 09, 2022, 09:25:42 AM

The last news or at least rumors is the Simmons-Harden trade but I hope this will not happen or it will be a disaster for the Nets or at least for both teams.
I like that, Nets don't need 3 scores, Durand and Irving is already enough, it's already like Lebron and Irving back when they are still with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Simons is just like the Dennis Rodman of the Bulls, he just need to be more aggressive and play harder so he can create his own brand.
As far as I know, Steve Nash put down that rumor, but who wouldn't know? Did James Harden requested to be traded or something and tells it to the media? I know that they are losing because of the injury from Durant but I doubt that it will be just the reason to ask for a trade right now. He himself is also injured with his hamstring. But we will have to wait, the trade deadline is just hours from now.

Not sure if. this is logical for the Sixers though, I mean with Joel everything looks good and the team are jelling. Maybe an addition of Harden won't bring any good for the Sixers.

So it's better for Harden to stay with the Nets, and see how it goes for them and hopefully they can make it to the playoffs and have him and Durant healthy and make one more run for the championship.
2592  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: $3.6 billion in Bitcoin seized from Crocodile of Wall Street on: February 09, 2022, 08:36:48 AM
"When the police got the search warrant, they managed to find the private keys" - I wonder where they kept their keys?
Were the keys in Heather's makeup bag? (ironic)

It was kept on the cloud, and the DOJ was able to crack the password and walla!!! all the private keys are sitting there.

Quote
Authorities added that they found 2,000 crypto wallet addresses and private keys in Lichtenstein's cloud storage account, almost all of which were connected to the stolen funds.

https://www.zdnet.com/article/doj-seizes-3-6-billion-in-crypto-from-bitfinex-hack-arrests-new-york-couple/

Just having such possessions and not taking care to make it impossible to find the keys seems a bit silly and weird. I don't side with the criminals, but logically, the first thing the criminals do is go to great lengths to make sure the police can't get their hands on the keys. In another case, it can be assumed that pressure was exerted on them, opening all places where the keys were not hidden.

I don't think they are technically inclined though, they are not the hackers, just the keepers of those bitcoin. We will have to find out how the they got the bitcoin from the hackers though, what is their connection. The hackers were caught in 2019, and probably spill their names, that's what I suspect on how the DOJ got a hold of these two and then started to work their way on cracking all their online identifies i.e social media accounts, online wallets and others.
2593  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: February 07, 2022, 04:59:02 AM
Westbrick had a really rough night, he was also intimidated and distracted by his own homecourt fans because of his poor field goal percentage and lousy turn overs.
It really seems like Westbrook's days in LA is going to end and he'll be traded anytime soon. And Malik Monk is gradually becoming the key for their success. The Lakers just need to trust Monk more in the offensive end, and of course they need to maintain a good defense.

Yeah, this performance by Russ was one of the most disgusting of this season. Nevertheless, it's unlikely that the Lakers' management will decide to trade him before the deadline. By the way, it's worth paying tribute to Vogel as he decided to put Westbrick on the bench in overtime. It seems to me that it was a key decision in this match.

Yeah, lots of meme know about Vogel benching Russ, but it's effective as they won the game so it is what it is. Perhaps this will be the new strategy for now, if Davis and Monk are performing above expectations, and to cut the turnovers, Vogel should bench Russ more often.

It is a drastic action but who knows, this might the issue all along. Keeping Russ in Lakers uniform, he should be traded, in my opinion.
2594  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Thurman vs Barrios - Feb 5 on: February 07, 2022, 04:29:13 AM
^^ Definitely is a fight that will make Thurman good in his return. Unfortunately, it was to be Barrios the victim here.

So for sure Thurman will be at ring side when Spence and Ugas fight. And probably will go on the stage, make some noise and ask for whoever the winner is to be his next fight. Gonna be explosive fight next and we can't wait for it.
2595  Economy / Speculation / Re: Evaluate your Bitcoin for next year on: February 07, 2022, 03:57:53 AM
Regarding expectations this year, I definitely want to see a significant increase in the price of bitcoin, considering that I currently hold bitcoin for sale at the highest price. Honestly, in the last year, I got the maximum profit from trading bitcoin. this year I hope there will be many surprises that we can meet so that we can get maximum profit.
We can have that profit if we know what we are doing, despite of the ups and downs last year, I can say that I also made some profit and for this year goal, I want to become more productive and be more profitable. This year will be a great and challenging trades, the price starts to rise again and hoping that it can continue for the whole Month of February. Visualize now what you really want, and start working with it you can achieve that this year believe it.

It's going to be a struggle really save bitcoin for our future. But if we have a goal then definitely we can achieved that no matter how hard it is. I myself has gone to this struggle specially pre-pandemic and in the pandemic, and it's mentally tough. But I was able to overcome it and continue to save as little as I can. So let's hope that we will have a new bull run coming up as the prices continue to go up right now.
2596  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Casimero vs Butler ordered by WBO on: February 06, 2022, 01:58:35 PM
The fight is still a month later but this thread have been up last year.  Cheesy
well, the mandatory fight was supposed to happen last year. but then, there was a complication with Casimero's health resulting in him not being able to show up at the weigh-in which also resulted in the fight being postponed. so the thread being created last year is understandable.

Right, and so this is still relevant up to this day or until the fight really happen.

And most boxing speculators had some qualms when Casimero didn't show in the weigh-in and we thought that it was due to him moving from MP to Probellum promotions. So it didn't sit well with us boxing fans. And then WBO threaten Casimero that he will be strip of the belt for not showing.

But later we found out that he indeed has some infection in his stomach causing the match to be postpone but not cancelled.
2597  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What use case is crypto lacking today? on: February 06, 2022, 01:00:13 PM
I do agree with most posters here, the market has been saturated already and there are even more projects in one industry, i. e. medicine. So maybe this 2022 we won't see any projects that will stand out because we have so many projects already. And there are so many copy cats that the competition became stiff and everyone wanted to be the number one in their field.
2598  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: February 06, 2022, 11:53:23 AM
I couldn't watch those games, but... with the return of AD I believe the Lakers improved a lot.
Anthony Davis got 17 rebounds and Monk scored 29 points!
I believe that if the Lakers continue with this performance, I think they can go to the playoffs easily!
But first we will need to analyze whether they will maintain this consistency.

It was also due to the return of Lebron James, it's his first game after missing some games and he really showed his leadership in this game. Though they could not dominate the Knicks, what's important is they won during the crucial time in the OT and that's what they need to maintain and put do some consistency as they'll have more close games in the future for sure.

LeBron already missed 5 games in a row, good thing that he's back now in a good shape and made easy triple double but Monk and Davis truly shined in the game today. Though they struggled in the 1st quarter but it's nice that they bounced back well in the 2nd until it came to OT. Hopefully, they'll maintain this standing and consistent in the next games. On their next game they will face the Bucks, hard team to beat but we'll see their performance soon.

Bucks will have a back to back games, tomorrow they will be facing the Clippers and then the Lakers the next night, and then Lakers will have a rest so they are fresh when they face the Bucks next.

So it will be interesting game again for the Lakers. They need to built from this win and at least have a good momentum. Westbrook though, what can we say.
2599  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: February 06, 2022, 11:15:48 AM
Lakers won, but again, it's another hard win in OT.

James won't go down and lose this one, scoring 29 points and then good contribution from Monk again with 29 as well and Davis with 28.

Seems that James and Monk has good chemistry. And when AD is healthy, Lakers is a different team. Sure this is James and AD's team.

The game was intense but this time they won and that's all that matters except for the low percentage field goals by Westbrook which the fans don't really like that much and continue to make fun of him until the end of the game. too bad because all eyes are on him right now and he really needs to improve his shots and play decision because a few mistakes will turn into a non-stoppable disappointment after the game.

If Westbrook was only doing well with the Lakers, they will be an unstoppable team, but with his stats, I think the Lakers would really struggle against a stronger team. The playoffs is the most important situation, however, if Westbrook would still do the same thing, he will be messing up and that would be the cause of their failure.

Horrendous game by Westbrook, I think he will not be able to bring back his game with the Lakers. He needs to be in a team wherein he should be at least the best player. With the Lakers, we have Davis and Lebron so he is a bit of disappointment this season for the Lakers. Chemistry for him with AD and Lebron is not there, sad to say. Hopefully they can go on the playoffs at least on the first round.
2600  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Thurman vs Barrios - Feb 5 on: February 06, 2022, 10:28:53 AM
It's a wide decision win for Thurman, and I would say good choice of opponents for him.

Not to soft and in paper it looks like Barrios could pull an upset. But it was a dominating performance by Thurman except for round 8 if I'm not mistaken wherein he takes his mouthpiece because he was hit in the body. If only Barrios could follow up on that one, anyhow, let's see who is Thurman going to go after this fight.
