341  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: New predictor Competition being planned - Feedback welcomed! 🗣️👂 on: July 05, 2019, 02:21:40 PM

How would one enter?

Free entry or a paid game?

Free to enter, all you need is a Cloudbet account (no deposit required - but it would be welcomed of course  Wink)

For entries I was either going to go with posting in a standard competition thread, or give google forms a try for a change with a form hosted on the competition blog.

Both options would come with a public spreadsheet of entries for transparency.

You’re giving away bitcoin, nobody is going to have a problem with that Cheesy

I was planning to give away a Ledger rather than BTC, but I guess it can always be sold for BTC once it's received?  Wink

Anyways sorry for the interruption, to get things back on topic:

Volume is rising with every pump. Sideways movement until late July, then up we go (unless there are any whales lurking around!)

343  Economy / Games and rounds / New predictor Competition being planned - Feedback welcomed! 🗣️👂 on: July 05, 2019, 02:02:08 PM
Afternoon all,

I'm currently planning a last man standing bitcoin price predictor competition where players have to guess whether the price of bitcoin will go up/down within the next 24 hours.

Format would include:

- A week long registration period
- Players asked to guess if the price goes up/down at 12:00+1 UTC the next day.
- Entries close at 10:00 UTC+1 each day so people aren't entering at 11:59  Wink
- Daily price snapshot would be taken from Tradingview.com to ensure accuracy.
- Process repeats daily until one person is left, or if still active after 4 weeks, a blockchain raffle between the remaining contestants.
- Bonuses for players reaching milestones, Nano Ledger Blue for the winner.
- Entries via Google Form on Cloudbet blog (Cloudbet account name required for entry)

Would this be something you fine ladies and gents would be interested in joining? Any feedback/changes on the format?

Thanks in advance, and have a great day!

^^
Best to put this in games and rounds cloubet representative.
The wo regulars here will come down on you hard for putting this in their domain. Cheesy

Thanks for the tip, I was thinking of going there anyway but wanted to check in with the true price speculators here.

I'll edit my post and take my feedback request to G&R before the pitchforks come out  Wink

Have a good day!

Edit: Cheerfully withdrawn  Wink

Moved here.

346  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: CWC2019 Prediction Pool - Win x BTC [Additional prize in every round] on: July 05, 2019, 09:50:46 AM
This is what I did today. I am also giving advantages to Bangladesh.

Bangladesh to win @ 2.54
Most fours Bangladesh @ 2.86
Pakistan Total Sixes over 4.5 @ 1.94

Nice, I think you could be onto a winner with the Pakistan Sixes market, they are going to be trying for a big score today.

Got my fingers crossed for you!
347  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: CWC2019 Prediction Pool - Win x BTC [Additional prize in every round] on: July 05, 2019, 08:55:55 AM
On my way in today I met a group of very friendly Bangladesh fans on the train, and they were very hyped for today's game (and slightly drunk at 8.00am!)  Wink

I was told today's game will be an easy win, but i'm not so sure. Pakistan are still playing with the (very small) hope of making the semi finals and will be looking to put up a big score.

For today's bets i'll once again go with my main man Al Hasan, he hasn't let me down yet...

- Al Hasan total: Over 35.5 (1.92)
- Total extras: Under 24.5 (1.84)
- Pakistan Top Bowler: Amir (3.20)

348  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Cloudbet Stole 55.35BTC of mine on: July 04, 2019, 03:21:06 PM
The guy disappeared, and this is very strange because according to him he lost 55 bitcoins, that's a lot of money for someone to give up having back, But you can send PM to him, maybe he'll respond

The issue was resolved by our support teams at the time.

GP is just mass bumping old scam accusation threads to try and get customers for his affiliate/lottery business.

I assume he is trying to take advantage of the fact that his -9999 trust rating is no longer visible  Wink
349  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: CWC2019 Prediction Pool - Win x BTC [Additional prize in every round] on: July 04, 2019, 03:02:27 PM
By the way, Pooran had his 50 which means Ronnie got luck today again :-)

Wooo go Pooran!

I've done pretty well this week all things considered, I think it helps that I'm only going with low stakes, the second I try and actually make money the whole thing will fall apart  Grin

I'd love to see England win the tournament but I think there's stronger teams out there. Auz and India have been more consistent throughout, and even with Roy back in the team I don't feel confident. It's frustrating as you know the players have the skills to perform, they just seem to crumble on the international stage.

Take Vince for example (I know he's not in the first team but you know...) he scored only 30 runs in 3 games, and that includes a duck against Australia.

350  Economy / Reputation / Re: [Spammer Blacklist] The Shitlist on: July 04, 2019, 02:26:39 PM
I usually just lurk in the Meta and Reputation sections as i've found it best to keep your head down as an 'operator', but I'm amazed our old friend Game-Protect hasn't made it onto the list.

I've enjoyed sparring with him over the past year and he is usually pretty careful to skirt just around the rules, but he's gone off the deep end with the spam this week:

351  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Cloudbet Scam - Account Blocked for Over a Year!! on: July 04, 2019, 02:16:57 PM
@game-protect - I can understand that you need something to do to fill your time when you aren't actively begging for donations for your affiliate/lottery service, but gravedigging old support threads to bump with the same copypasted lines aren't going to win you many friends or customers.

352  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: July 04, 2019, 01:45:21 PM

Our latest UFC 239 blog from guest writer Ernesta Bukauskaite is live!

Here's a sneak peak of the write ups for the main cards:

Jon Jones v Thiago Santos

"...Both main event contenders are formidable fighters and proclaimed for their skilled knockouts. We believe that Jones has a far broader skill range and that this, combined with his reach advantage, will likely prevent Santos from getting close enough to execute his striker’s game plan and secure the victory for himself."

Jones to win at 1.15

Amanda Nunes v Holly Holm

"...It was only a matter of time before these two prolific female strikers would touch gloves. This is a truly exciting fight for the fans. However, with the age gap between them, Holm’s recent record and slightly less powerful striking style, we believe that Nunes will likely win this contest."

Nunes to win at 1.28

One of the best value odds for the night is probably Blachowicz @ (2.45) to win. Rockhold has been out for a while and is coming back to a heavier weight class.

Anyone else betting on the event? Check out our UFC 239 blog for a full breakdown of the fighters, form, and best value betting odds!

353  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🎾🏆 Wimbledon 2019 - Discussion Thread 🏆🎾 on: July 04, 2019, 10:53:48 AM
Looking forward to Kyrgios playing Nadal today, watching those two battle it out is always entertaining given their ongoing feud.

Here's some background to add a little bit of extra flavour to the match  Wink

Back in 2014 Kyrgios (as a wildcard) beat Nadal at Wimbledon to became the first top 100 outsider to beat a world No.1 at a tennis Grand Slam in almost 22 years!  Shocked

In terms of their head-to-head play they have faced each other a total of 6 times since then, with 3 wins each. Nadal's wins tend to come on his preferred Clay surface though.

Nadal seemed to be pretty pissed at Kyrgios after the 'disrespectful' loss in Mexico this year, where the Auzzie served underarm on a couple of occasions to rile up his opponent.

They have played around 16 sets against each other over the years, with Kyrgios winning all 5 of the ones going to tiebreaks - could it be he has the stronger mental game?

Was going to keep it simple with the bets today, but given their history I'm thinking this one could go all the way to five sets  Smiley

🎾 Kyrgios to win a set: Yes (1.48)
🎾 Total Number of Sets: 5 (3.61)
🎾 Correct set score: Kyrgios 2:3 Nadal (5.31)
354  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🌭 Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest - 4th July 2019 🌭 on: July 04, 2019, 10:27:31 AM
The day is finally here - Happy 4th July to our American friends! (sorry we still don't accept US players though Wink)

I'll be tucking into a foot-long at the office in your honour 🌭

Now on to the main event!

The 'weigh-ins' happened yesterday:

Plus a nice head-to-head photo shoot with the Reigning champion Joey Chestnut and main contender Matt Stonie:

Stonie is the only man in the past 10 years that's managed to topple Chestnut from his throne, ending an 8 year winning streak with a surprise victory in 2015.

Thinking of betting on the event this year?

Here's some insights taken from my predictions on the blog:

The men’s winner has averaged 65.3 ‘dogs over the last 10 years, but it’s worth noting that the totals have slowly risen over time, culminating in last year’s world record breaking 74 HDB. This year the over/under market is currently at 73.5 (just 0.5 under the current record) so it essentially comes down to a simple question - will we see another record this year?

Back Under 73.5 at (1.71)

For the women the average is substantially lower at ‘just’ 38.7, and with our over/under sitting at 38.5 it makes for an interesting bet. In Miki Sudo’s last 5 wins she has only gone over 38.5 HDB once in 2017, so the signs point to ‘under’ being the smart bet.

Back Under 38.5 (1.86)

355  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: CWC2019 Prediction Pool - Win x BTC [Additional prize in every round] on: July 04, 2019, 10:10:29 AM
Both teams are just playing for the fans today, so it's a bit of a weird one.

I think Nabi and Naib are going to be key to keeping WI score low. Disappointed in Gayle no need to swing like that so early on, but he's been pretty 'meh' all tournament.

I've just gone with one silly bet today, it's been a good week and I don't want to push my luck  Wink

- Pooran to score 50: Yes (3.10)
356  Economy / Gambling / Re: Cloudbet | Bitcoin Casino & Sportsbook | The No.1 Bitcoin Gambling Site on: July 03, 2019, 08:39:10 AM
@deadley - I'm really sorry, our teams are still investigating the reports but I'll chase them up for an update.

@bbc.reporter - Unfortunately we weren't able to lower the stakes, which I agree probably contributed to the slow uptake on the GoT markets. I've passed on all the player feedback from the GoT thread to our sportsbook teams along with my thoughts on the markets. Hopefully this will help move us towards lower min stakes for the entertainment markets in the near future, but I can't make any promises from my position.

357  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: CWC2019 Prediction Pool - Win x BTC [Additional prize in every round] on: July 03, 2019, 08:30:10 AM
Not sure about today's game, England are my favourites and I have New Zealand in the office pool, so I'm not sure who I want to win. England losing would certainly make the tournament more exciting for everyone involved!

I usually like betting on batsmen scoring over x but with England's batsmen being inconsistent and the NZ bowlers being on fire i'm not sure I want to touch that market  Tongue

Think i'll just back New Zealand at (3.25) and avoid the player props this time.

358  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: CWC2019 Prediction Pool - Win x BTC [Additional prize in every round] on: July 02, 2019, 03:34:02 PM

Almost there, just need Bangladesh to avoid scoring any 6s now!

Good 'ol Al Hasan, that's 5/5 bets he's won for me so far this tournament!  Grin

359  Economy / Gambling discussion / 🌭 Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest - 4th July 2019 🌭 on: July 02, 2019, 01:28:58 PM

Bitcoin betting on hot dog eating. Yes, really...

It’s America. The 4th of July. You want to celebrate your nation’s independence from a tyrannical government; but how?

Drink Beer? Shoot a gun in the air? Punch an alien in the face while smoking a cigar?

The solution for many East coast patriots is to head on down to Coney Island in NYC to witness what has become one of the world’s most popular celebrations of freedom and gluttony: Nathan’s hot dog eating contest!

We've just published a guide to the competition (written by yours truly) with a bit of background on the main contenders, the history of the event, the techniques used to stuff those 'dogs down, and of course, the best value lines for bitcoin betting!  Cheesy

You can check out the full blog here and find our full list of available markets here.

Anyone thinking of making a little bet on this year's competition? Obviously Joey Chestnut and Miki Sudo are the clear favourites to defend their respective titles, but there's plenty of value to find in the over/under total hotdog markets!  Tongue
360  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: CWC2019 Prediction Pool - Win x BTC [Additional prize in every round] on: July 02, 2019, 11:32:02 AM
@Ronnie: Rohit got his 50 which means you won the bet on him however he is going to ruin your over under 9.5 six bet LOL.
Already 3 over boundary in only 15 overs :-P

He gives with one hand and takes away with the other  Tongue

India have only scored five 6s in their last 3 games (I think) so it's typical they'd start smacking the ball around as soon as my bet was placed  Wink

Hi Ronnie, are the round bonuses still on going ? I was a winner in round 5 but I missed out on it ( I wasn't aware I was one the winners, though), However, I finished as joint-top point scorer for the just concluded round too.

You won in round 5 so if you drop me a DM with your Cloudbet nickname then I'll add the prize to your account  Smiley

I was going to wait until the end of the group stage before announcing the prize winners from rounds 7-10 so everyone will be loaded up with bonuses for the knockout stage  Wink
