I find it funny how Yifu is playing the victim in that thread. Quite amusing.
Are we positive it was Yifu?
The communication seemed out of character for Yifu.
Could some one else be using the account?
It just seemed a little off to me.
But who knows.

I think I was the first to suggest his account was hacked, but I think he's just losing his mind under the pressure.

Whoever it was just started sending out batch three refunds. So obviously the account was hacked, it couldn't possibly be Yifu  Grin
ya just checked that out,,,hmmm refunds seem to be flowing at the moment?  lets hope TH gets theirs and we all get ours...But ours is in no way contingent upon that Smiley
3402  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Incoming Avalon News 8/9/2013 on: August 29, 2013, 03:55:15 AM
This is really getting interesting now,,,hmmm refunds so quickly?
3403  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Klondike - 16 chip ASIC Open Source Board - Preliminary on: August 29, 2013, 02:10:17 AM
The hope remains eternal possibly a huge bump in BTC price in the future could make building Klondikes worthwhile to actually build but that is a risk one would have to weigh for oneself. The alternative for the chip holder however is quite bleak and refunds and lawsuits could be the only option going forward.

But... as the freedomno1 points out we have gained a lot here through this project. I hope we see more in the future.
Yes, I wouldn't throw in the towel just yet on the klondikes...there still could be a break in all of this, or something else around the corner. I guess one day at at a time and keep the klondike alive. Somehow we all just need a better connection to getting the chips,,,besides the clown we are all dealing with now...I dont even want to say his name...lol fuyi,,hows that Smiley
3404  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Off-Topic on: August 29, 2013, 02:01:21 AM
TH has a lot of connections,,,maybe they will get lucky and score enough to finish out the pre orders?...who knows Smiley

First off, Break up your paragraphs (Wall-o-Text)

Secondly,

We have to figure out if Yifu IS doing refunds and not just overwhelmed trying to cope with his disaster.

Once there is a clear path there then TH can take that.

There's already talks of a Class Action suit against Avalon (I'm sure because these Group Buys have used a lot of money in useless boards/parts/cases and want to get that back as well)

You can read it in Steamboats thread.

All in All TH already said they would at the VERY LEAST do a partial refund if it came to not receiving the chips. Time will tell, either way expect something back eventually.
Hey glad you like my typing skills.... I still say there is no such thing as a partial refund (and I'm not sure thats what they meant when they wrote that post),,,it was more like "some refunds" meaning maybe not all, but those who ask,,If someone wants a refund, then thats that, they get it. I don't really care where they need to find the money, its their obligation.
3405  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Off-Topic on: August 29, 2013, 12:58:22 AM
I'm not surprised at any of this from the avalon/yifu side of things. I felt weeks ago they would not be coming. It was obvious then something was drastically going wrong. Yifu is sending mixed signals somewhat. He says on 1 hand they are still shipping 10k a week? or something like that, then in the same breath says it would  be easier to issue refunds.
So does anyone know which it is yet?...no we dont, or at least im not sure. In any event, assuming TH will never see their chips, so whats next now for TH and its customers, that is the real question here. One would like to think TH is capable of issuing full refunds to anyone if ask to do so, and rightfully so and they should. They have not said that they wouldn't or couldn't, if the worst should ever happen, which it now seems to be. We do know that TH has said it is in contact with other board/chip manufactures, even though we haven't heard any further progress on that from from TH yet? So Its clear many will be hammering them for a refund, and Terrahash should refund in full immediately to who ever ask. Now on the other hand some may hang tight and try not to bankrupt TH or get into lenghty law suits etc....But I am hoping TH has deep enough pockets to cover refunds and any loses it may incurr, certainly most of us open a business with a lot of up front cost, but we are also, prepared to loose it. So I'm not sweating it yet, with TH not refunding under these circumstances. So I will wait to see if perhaps they have a back up game plan. And to their credit I will say someone there knows how to engineer a board. We have seen it. So Terrahash may still have some fight left, and produce or offer up something sweet soon,,,if not the klondikes. Plus, They themselves like us, should be getting a refund, if in fact yifu refunds. Thus giving TH a lot of equity just in that amount,,,so lets see if TH will offer refunds or offer up, for some to hang tight and possibly follow them on to a new board,,,at one hell of a good deal!!! and who knows it sounds like there still may be some chips still floating around out there and possibly still enroute ....TH has a lot of connections,,,maybe they will get lucky and score enough to finish out the pre orders?...who knows Smiley

What is more concerning is that bkk has had populated k16 rev 3 for weeks now and has not made one update about it hashing or not.

Ya bkk is pretty down right now,,,I would say,,,he's just kinda hanging back to see what unfolds and when,,,his next move may be even to adapt the klondike to Gen2 if push comes to shove??? God bless him,,,, he has put so much in to things....
3407  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Off-Topic on: August 28, 2013, 06:10:05 PM
Where is Terrahash? They are not responding to emails, tickets, voice call (mail box still not setup).
They are obviously monitoring the forum though.

Let it be known that Terrahash has my chips today. So the two weeks clock starts now.
I need to know what size and spec of fan to buy but I can't find the info as terrahash is not responding to anything.

A true Leap of Faith Smiley I certainly hope they can produce you back a working board in the time advertised. I really do, for both you and TH's sake. This is a good chance for them to pick up some credibility in the community. I do know they are still working on the newer k64 boards from some reading in bkk's threads,,,so good luck! let us know.
3408  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Off-Topic on: August 28, 2013, 02:00:56 PM
Sigh, looking at FriedCats new blade prices makes these preorders so worthless!~
Yes indeed they do...TH would be better off to mass order blades directly, and resell them on their site,,,,with NON-EBAY pricing,,,like 799.00 each or even lower or something... they would fly of the shelves and TH could still see almost double their money per sale,,,,,would be a good avenue to pull out of the hole for them! and create some cash flow,,,, short term anyways....

Personally I like mining alt coins,,,we are starving for new faster GPU's or (asic) "scrypt boards" per se" ......can it be done??? Smiley

It can be done, but there appear to be two problems with an FPGA for scrypt.  Current estimated $/kh/s is higher than 79xx GPU's, they are obviously more energy efficient than GPU's but with the higher cost/khs it would take a high electrical rate or a very long time to overcome the difference.  LTC FPGA's estimates are not showing the same jump in "efficiencies" we saw with BTC GPU to FPGA.  I think GPU's are going to be around quite a while the high NRE of FPGA's and ASIC's are a pretty large barrier to entry right now all things considered.  Although you may be able to get into an IPO or buy some LTC FPGA's in the coming months I still don't see them pushing GPU's out any time soon.

Hey thanks for that Tidbit, I just looked at the link,,,so someone is on it! Probably slow in development, but i feel its an opportunity for the right developers and would have a decent market. I will keep up with that link! thx Smiley

Sometimes the best plan is inaction, i would wait and see.

Very wise.. On both the ASIC side and Scyrpt mining side, now is not the time to buy. Wait until the ASICs flood the market and pick off the weak hands in a buyers market.

On the GPU side, there will be many price reductions in the near future, don't buy too many now
Yep. ya know,,,someone or somebody like amd radeon,,,needs to develop an ass kicking scrypt card/board that is extremely powerfull yet energy efficient...maybe even dedictaed specifically towards mining.... a new horizon awaits for scrypt mining in the near future I really believe so,,,Hey Terrahash,,,any good scrypt board developers out your way or on your team?...Hook up with them,,and you could be the new leader of the pack in a whole new avenue of mining,,,somebodys going to develop something one day...who will it be?  Personally I like mining alt coins,,,we are starving for new faster GPU's or (asic) "scrypt boards" per se" ......can it be done??? Smiley

The end game is in sight for all of us "wanna be" miners anyways,,,, we will be a drop in the bucket,,,more like in the ocean soon. It will all be a waste of money, our moment is passing now faster then we all thought even 2 months ago. The big well funded operations will put just about everyone out of business in the asic world. Reality check time!

Agreed on hardware, it's a race to the bottom, the final balance will be when hardware retails for about the same as the cost to make them, while equals to btc mined + market price. At that point, noone will be making more hardwares as it's no longer profitable and the network difficulty will finally level off and flat line.

Disagree on invest in btc right now, the current raise in btc price is again fueled almost 100% by the rush to buy asic hardware, not any real demand. There will be a double whammy on price once the asic buying frenzy levels off by end of year AND the majority of the btc will be mined by asic farms etc...from people who are eager to get money back from their initial investment, the prices will drop again.  So i would wait until at least early next year before buying unless price drops to the $70-80 support level before then.

Sometimes the best plan is inaction, i would wait and see.
Good point, but you really think we could see 70.00 BTC again?...only thing is what the regulators may bring on us,,,outside of that i see it growing still...maybe best to wait tho  Smiley
3412  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Off-Topic on: August 27, 2013, 07:32:11 PM
The small guy can mine and profit but he needs to get his miner on time, not two weeks too late - even two weeks is the difference between profitability and not as I posted earlier. The difficulty rise will level out at some point in another year as the ASIC tech present limiting returns. They will become cheaper and people will be purchasing them like they did gpus.
Ya think? lol any small asics 30-100gh probably wont make it to see a return, by the time you recoup your investment you might make a dollar a day...... A year from now, will be like owning 1 little 333 mh block erupter, right now. oh well, at this point it just all seems like a big waste of money, unless you can get a unit now in hand" that pumps 200-400 gh,,,maybe then see return and some profit afterwords, but for most its just a fantasy now. Ball parking here with the G/H a little, but sure im not to far off. Bottom line, We're screwed.

I dunno.., I might still be able to catch on somewhat.
BitFury started shipping... so hoping my 25k kit will be on my lap by the end of the week.
TH has quite a bit to learn from Dave in CS, lol. Smiley
oh no doubt Zurg, 25 gh in your lap this week will defintely put some coins in your pocket! about 0.191222 BTC per day, as of right now or 1.33 per week Smiley

I think Knightlife should try to pay TH another freindly visit to see how things are going? whats the plan B, C and D, should the chips never arrive or are devastatlingly late. Who and how and when would refunds be handled or issued out, or possible credits towards a new board design all together?  Who's chip batches did they group buy into exactly? since there is a massive list of all buyers for us all to see now. And how long can TH survive the wait themselves? are their pockets deep enough to sustain a long wait on the avalon chips,,,or to even push ahead with manufacturing a new board and chip design be it bitfury and so on? Just lots of questions that really should be addressed and answered soon for the sake of everyone that has had an interest in TH or still has orders on wait. Again I am not blaming TH for its demise here, as they are victims as well, of Yifu. But they also are still in possesion of hundreds of thousands of dollars perhaps, that are not investments in their company and cannot be treated and handled as such, nor can be squandered away with time. My goal from the beginning was for TH to become my main supplier for quality klondike boards made right here in the USA and hopefully a good future for all. I think its time for a realistic overview of the game plan going forward. We know what the one is now,,,just sit and wait. Soon we will have waited for nothing.
3418  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Incoming Avalon News 8/9/2013 on: August 27, 2013, 03:33:20 PM
Thats exactly what he did, snuck someone else in ahead of all of us,,,and sold our chips,,,,probably for a proft he just couldn't refuse,,,,obviously yifu has given in to his lust and greed for money. To hell with ethics and morals it would seem. What goes around comes around in life, one day he will regret his short term wealth he gained by cheating others.
3419  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Off-Topic on: August 27, 2013, 04:13:12 AM
My lord, I'm just now approaching a return on my 2400kh I bought 3-4 months ago. No way I can purchase another rig let alone one that massive. The more you spend upfront, the better with mining it seems.

3-4 months is a great ROI. There aren't many businesses that you can make back your investment in 3-4 months. There are many other factors that go into that, most important is power, and I'm fortunate to be very close to some of the cheapest power in the US. There are cheaper places, but that is the difference in becoming a large operation that can turn a profit in the short term.

Plus, if it goes bust earlier than expected, I can make back at least 30% of the equipment cost, unlike ASICs. That said, to become a large scale GPU farm, you need massive amounts of cheap power, and the ability to cool it. If only I started this 3 years ago...

my power where i live in the south now is 11.3 per kw hr....up north in my hometown, power is just under .08 (western NY ) Smiley and its much cooler temps... I plan to move back home when my son finishes his early college,,,but thats about 48  months away Sad  not sure if GPU mining will still be happening by then the way things change so fast now. But like you said, can always pump out some gaming rigs on craigs list and make most of my money back,,,lol (unlike asics) and besides for now i like having fun withthe various coins one can mine with gpu... Im trying to stay positive in light of the lost asic income dream... lol
3420  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Off-Topic on: August 26, 2013, 11:57:41 PM
You got that right Atomic.....amazing how fast the BTC earnings have dropped per G/hash,,,,,scary,,I think I may just stick to gpu alt coins for a while and have just enough asic miners (erupters or a blade) to cover utility cost on gpu mining. Smiley For a while anyways.... Smiley

I questioned my strategy early on, but it's paid off nicely for the last four months. We're about to see a lot more people back into it though, especially with the cards dropping in price soon. Forget about it if Litecoin actually shoots up at all. As long as it stays above $2, and difficulty under 1300, I will still be turning a decent profit, even when factoring in my lease, power and other monthly costs. I'm ramping up to over 100,000 kh/s in the next month or two. If these other crap coins keep on helping, that's even better. I just mine and sell those, but I'll keep a few thousand of LTC in my "just in case" pile.

Sweet Smiley Im getting ready to add 3000 kh by end of sept. (cooler weather) Of course I will never catch up with you lol....mining CGB at the moment,,,trade on cryptsy> BTC ...check it out ? and the dev website, pretty cool and interesting.. let me know what you think? catch ya in the chat channel maybe....
