DX large 180gh/s x 1    order number 53#

18gh/s boards x 28   order number 4##   52#     54#

3822  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Klondike 16 - 3.5" HDD and PCI Express Mounting Adapters on: June 30, 2013, 03:10:31 AM
Hey I guess I should have looked at the thread first lol, great pics,,,and illustration so far... yes i may be interested as well in purchasing. The ideas I had were to use mobo stand offs (the longer ones) for the boards in an empty case and stack 2 maybe 3 vertically (same position as a mobo)...and custom fit decent fans,,,will post pics down the road perhaps. Still waiting on exact board layout for mounting etc k-64's etc. Nice job! very impressive. Luv to see innovation Smiley

If you've ordered TerraHash 16 chip modular boards, but aren't sure how you're going to mount them...

I may be providing adapters so they can be mounted in standard computer cases (tower or rackmount), if there's enough interest.

hey that looks very interesting. I have been studying some empty pc mid tower cases I have and was pondering how to convert them for the boards,,,and cooling etc,,,keep us posted! thx!

Ironically enough, paypal is looking at bringing bitcoin in under their roof as another form of payment method. I have watched a video with paypal's CEO mentioning it, and an employee told me he had heard that as well....hmmm makes ya wonder doesn't it....

Edit: That would be great news if they did ,,,and BTC value would sky rocket, Im sure  Smiley

that's a wet dream... the legal and monetary implications are tremendous. No established company will take on that kind of risk without a prior precedent.

but since this whole thread is hopes and dreams, if paypal does accept btc as a form of payment, it will completely legitimize bitcoin OVER NIGHT, establish it as a mainstream currency, and most important set the precedent for everyone else to follow - all the rats will then come out of the holes and start accepting bitcoin as well. Of course the price will then skyrocket, which will get the financial sector interested, then the good times will roll. Right now bitcoin is at what? 1billion market cap? wall street wont even take a piss on it with that kind of number, but if it becomes 50-100 billion market then there will be interest.  And the beauty of all this is when the government start to enforce policies, the lobbyists of those big firms will be working FOR bitcoin.

While we are having this nice dream with hand on our ****, why not imagine avalon is actually legit, and they will ship all those chips by july, and terrahash is also the most honest company, they will take 2 weeks to assemble and ship it out right away to their customers, and we will all get our 100000 ghs miners by august and make boat load of cash before the difficulty goes through the roof.

Wet Dream? more than likely...BUT: Here is that interview with PayPal President....they reference Bitcoin about the 2:50 seconds mark, however whole interview is interesting.... Ya have to admit it does make ya wonder...Lets keep dreaming! Smiley

3828  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Off-Topic on: June 29, 2013, 04:30:19 AM
any update on them shipping?

No, defintely not on shipping yet,,,still waiting to hear if paypal orders are still in or not?

I think PayPal uses a very heavy handed approach in dealing with sellers and merchants.  I have used PaPal as an ebay seller and to send funds from one PayPal user account to another.  If you are a new seller on ebay, PayPal will hold your funds in escrow for a minimum of 21 days. Whether you ship the item in a timely manner or not; whether you ship products that are exactly as advertised, PayPal will hold new seller funds in escrow for 21 days.

I recently sent money from my Canadian PayPal account to my US PayPal account.  This transaction is taking approx. 14 days to complete (the funds cleared from my bank in 2 business days).  Both my accounts are in good standing and I have had both PayPal accounts for several years.  Why is PayPal doing this?  Because they can.

What deeply concerns me is PayPal reserves the right to do this: "Payments received in your Account may be reversed at a later time, for example, if such a payment is subject to a Chargeback, Reversal, Claim or is otherwise invalidated."

Even more disturbing, "We may close, suspend, or limit your access to your Account or the PayPal Services, and/or limit access to your Balance for up to 180 Days (or longer if pursuant to a court order or other legal process)"

The two clauses are in PayPal's current PayPal User Agreement: https://cms.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/?cmd=_render-content&content_ID=ua/UserAgreement_full&locale.x=en_US

I would be quite reserved in believing that Terrahash will find a favorable response from PayPal in reagards to having their funds released.  There is no benefit for PayPal to move quickly on this matter.  Interest is accruing in PayPal's favor each and every day.

It makes me firmly believe that a technology like bitcoin is long overdue to free us from the abuse of companies like PayPal.

Whats up with the downward spiral of BTC and LTC today?  thats a little unnerving on top of everything else.... hope it reverses course soon! Guess ill go do a little research.... hmmm

Yeah, its getting a little scary now Sad
On the June 18th my order would have earned approx: $3,840 per month, as of right now it worth $3,159  Sad  who knows 2 months or longer from now, at this rate?  makes one kinda think twice ..... lol

For me it was a combination of my own risk discipline, my existing commitment to Avalon hardware already, and my own delays in placing my order.

Once I saw where my small order was in the queue, it was more valuable to me to see if a BTC payment would be refunded than to see if I would be in batch 3 or 4.  Which it was.

Hey thats cool, I sure understand your reasoning.... I guess if I saw my order way down the line batch xxx lol, I mite would do the same at this point. Thx for sharing that with us Smiley
3833  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Off-Topic on: June 28, 2013, 05:45:00 PM
None of mine or anyone else's business, but why are you refunding?  Smiley
3834  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Off-Topic on: June 28, 2013, 05:43:41 PM

Wishfull thinking lol

Requested a refund June 27 1:00 AM pacific, got an auto-reply. No human response yet.

How did you pay? if you don't mind...BTC Paypal etc

Meant to mention that, I made an order for 1xK64 and 3xK16 via paypal.

Got my refund shortly after posting this. Best of luck Terrahash!
Thx for the update! we know that system is working good... Smiley

Where do you guys setup your CC processors?

If you have all of the correct paperwork (And why wouldn't you) it only takes about 24 hours to get accepted, it takes longer to get your cart software working than it does setting up a merchant account.

Hell, if they got the paypal issue resolved they could literally apply for a PayPal Payments Pro account and accept credit cards directly through their website from them and this only takes like 5 minutes to fill out the form online and maybe 24 hours to get approved.

This is the easy stuff you go through when starting a business >.>
Not sure how it is nowa days, but last time I set up CC it was pretty thorough line of questioning. How long in business, what kind of business, products to be sold, anticpated avg transaction amounts (with range limits) and so on, then on top of that a new internet security questionaire that had to be filled out and completed on line to comply with new federal internet security measures....so who knows what they may be up against in that effort.

Three weeks was the minimum for me with negotiating a processor and issuing bank. I had quotes from a couple. They all want to know what you are doing prior to pitching to you, which in terms of Bitcoin means explaining from ground up, which means in terms of pre-orders most issuing banks will say no thank-you, I imagine. This is not an easy situation to be in. Paypal hate Butterfly Labs.
Ya, its all about the risk of charge backs, and when they mention Bitcoin, or Bitcoin Mining Machines" Im sure they will get a frown and a HUH?? from the banks...lol, big difference then saying ya, im opening a seafood restaurant etc.. avg check around 25.00 bux etc...and have been in the business for 20 years..... heh"

Well they open in about 20 minutes, maybe you will hear then,,or perhaps we all may hear regarding paypal refunds?? lol.. Goodluck, Im in a wait-see mode right now with paypal.
3839  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Off-Topic on: June 28, 2013, 03:37:24 PM
I think a lot is riding on paypal.  I don't think we will see a post or blog to say what batch till paypal outcome is known.  If they do tell paypal outcome friday or choose to do something will be a interesting day.  I cant imagine them wanting to loose paypal so i think there will be a bit of quietness and waiting.  Either way get your popcorn.

For sure, and you know if paypal is reviewing them,,which they are, and paypal decides at some point to release their funds to TH (friday or even later), that should be real reassuring for all of us. Cause paypal will be looking at their over all viabilty as a company, so if they satisfy paypal, (which ain't easy) It of course will be great for TH and will make me feel better to! lol whether I'm in the first so called batch" or not...

Butterfly Labs have royally screwed Paypal options for crowd funded start-ups in the Bitcoin community.

Coupled with the scam re-sale of BFL pre-orders, Paypal don't want to touch something similar again.

What does that tell you about Paypal's confidence in BFL.

KnC had massive issues because of this and had to go to extreme lengths to secure Paypal, because they know what it means to have the brand on board for pre-order confidence.

Terrahash are smaller and may have a harder time, but it's BFL who have put them in this situation.

Paypal just do the same as John K., escrow funds for 45 days, but for that they get months of bullshit form pissed BFL customers which has left a lasting resentment.

That sums it nicely...However, I would think TH will wait as long as possible to see if paypal will work with them, even if they get CC payment set up today or whenever. Im sure they would rather get payal endorsement.

Also in my experience it takes more than 'days' to negotiate with payment processors and issuing banks. Setting up Ccard payment options takes time, this is the one area I feel TH has been misleading, or mislead themselves.

Paypal would be far faster to set-up normally without BFL's indiscretions.

No doubt, i feel they will potentialy run into the same issue setting up a CC account with a bank as well,,, for some of the same reasons...I dont really expect to see a status change today on anything, maybe an update reiterating what they said on monday.
