I wish eveyone would quit freaking out over the difficulty level....a small rise in BTC value say to 110 or 120 will more than make up the difference in daily earned BTC.
Why is is UTTERLY STUPID economic argument always end up being posted? BTC value does not matter because you could have bought BTC and sat on it instead. So if you don't achieve ROI in BTC terms, you lost, no matter the price.
lol, I guess i have to re explain my point ,,, obviously I threw an air ball...

BTC value doesn't matter! If someone speculates for higher BTC/USD rates it's better to buy coins instead.
Even better to do both Smiley Mine and buy Smiley

These group buy chip participants are going to get their asses handed to them.   By the time Yifu delivers and the boards get populated, tested etc. the value of what they will receive will be nominal at best.   It will take time to get finished product into each participants' hands even after the chips arrive.   IF (and that is a big IF) with this chronic liar, Yifu decides to dilute his own mining market share and ships all the chips next week, you are probably looking at mid Sept before people get something at their home to hash with.   And, they will be up against the wave of all the other people getting them also.   And, possible asicminer.  The russians already showed they can ship and their product is solid.  Then you throw in the uncertainty of all the bragging from KnC and Hashfast etc. and you have the formation of something that looks like a cluster brought to you by Yifu.   I am sure he will ship the chips before all these others dilute his batch II mining farm (or maybe that is the machines the "mafia" stole -- either way we all see them running) since it becomes more in his favor to do it.   If one of you shakes this turd's hand at the next bitcoin conference, then you are getting what you deserve.
I wish eveyone would quit freaking out over the difficulty level....a small rise in BTC value say to 110 or 120 will more than make up the difference in daily earned BTC. Lets face it,,there is going to be a butt load of asics shipping in the last qtr. of this year...most stand to never see the ROI unless BTC value shoots up...thats what really we are all counting on,,otherwise we all might as well just start ordering our next 100g/hash's from someone and it will never end... Undecided

FYI this is from terrahash a few days ago:

Yea, already ordered the new part. We have ordered enough components to assemble upto 200,000 chips or 12,500 K16s. The only part in shortage right now is the PIC. But, we have enough of them for 40,000 chips and more are coming in around August 15. Heatsinks will be here next week. The cases were supposed to arrive today, but the shop says they are delayed by a couple days, which is fine for now. Power supplies and fans (for the cases) have been ordered as well. Cable harnesses for powering upto 40 K16s from a single power supply have been custom made, they will be here by next week too.

I just posted this in another thread...found it interesting.

If you haven't watched this video, then you should. Actually I found this very impressive. Yifu obviously knows his shit" this is one of the best question and answer sessions I have seen in recent memory. I wouldn't under estimate this guy in terms of his abilty.  This was just a little over 9 weeks ago. So pull up a chair, grab a beer or coffee or both  and listen to how he addresses things. Pretty darn smart for a young guy.  He has accomplished more than I first gave him credit for. Until now in my mind he was just the guy with the asic chips etc. Found this 25 minute video very interesting in many ways, in contrast to what has been being said in here. Guess if we dont like how he operates then we can always start our own asic machine building company  enjoy..meet mr. yifu lol

Ok guys, here's the deal. Given the current conditions (rising difficulty, Avalon uncertainty, etc.), a lot of people who ordered chips from Avalon are willing to resell their chips at cost price. This was not true a month ago or so, when we made a deal to acquire two additional orders for a premium (We never bought those orders, but only made a deal to pay a premium once they had chips in hand). We have decided to scrap those deals and instead buy chip orders from people who want to get out by selling their order for the price they paid. We have got 3 offers so far. We will re-open pre-orders after buying these.

We will keep you posted on this development.

Also, all these 3 offers are for May orders.

Just saw this.  Funny i thought claimed to have proof for all chip orders, now they say they never bought them on the extra early orders that were almost impossible to find when they claimed they did. This only in hand clause was never told to anyone when company showed off orders and vouched they had them all.

Ohhhh TH i don't miss the days of being a customer of yours.  And they are willing to re-open pre-orders! Want to take bets on if this batch of pre-orders does not include paypal option?
Hey, maybe a little misperception on the events for the already placed chip orders with TH vs. the additonal chips they were/are attmepting to aquire outside of those initial orders. The TH quote above is refering back to an even earlier post about a deal on I think, of 20k chips at a premium price, but they never persued it, as those chips had to be in hand for them to pay that premium price. ok, just wanted to share that much with ya buddy Smiley Im by no means defending Th's customer service and information qualities" lol or lack there of Smiley

Ill bet after all the hoopla is over in here and the dust settles, 99.9% of all of us chip investors" will still be here a week maybe 2-3 from now waiting for our chips...ya know why? cause we really ain't got much else to choose from to do, and short term thinking would be to take a "wait and see approuch" even tho it pains us deeply to wait another day, yet another month? (Deep down inside I really want the Klondikes) I like the concept. Just hope it all doesn't get squirrelled around on us any worse than it is. And quit worrying about the difficulty lvl so much. BTC value should counter that loss starting soon! and if it doesn't, than all of this wont matter much a year from now.
3549  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Off-Topic on: August 10, 2013, 01:29:22 AM
Bargraphics knew from the beginning that these miners would not arrive on time which is why he always intended on selling.

There were many signs even from a little after beginning.  I personally feel really good with getting my paypal refund long ago, was when they didn't meet deadlines on showing videos and lots more.   Change of refund policy without notifying anyone before they took funds for orders.

Their communication was always horrible.  Not to mention they did threaten me to close my PayPal dispute.

I will give them credit the chip delay isn't their fault on this.  So cant blame that on them.  I just wish more people would have listened to us telling to go for refund long ago from TH.
Perhaps that may have been the wise thing to do? time will tell, the jury is still out...but who else can offer a asic rig any faster or without any risk of time delays??? no one that I know of.... so take your pick,,,lol if ya want an asic built,,,guess ya got to get in line and wait and hope for the best  Wink

Personally I really like the concept of individual klondike boards with the ability to chain,,,One board dies you pull it out of the chain and keep on gettn on mining! where as with an avalon asic miner, many have had issues and the whole rig is down,,,a pile of metal... So my interest is with the klondike concept and all the possibilities with custom case design,,or simple open air cooling...lots of plus's for me. And even KNcMiner,,will have the same threat of failure, if a connecting board/circuit etc fails..I may be wrong on that...but I know with asic, some have had internet issues etc,,rendering the unit worthless for mining,,,ok you get the point Smiley

This is what unregulated looks like.  Sure there are fraudsters.  Nothing stops that.  Sure there are scams.  Nothing stops that either.  But at least here you have a CHOICE.  You weren't required to trust Yifu.  You decided to.  I decided to.  We all did.  We made a mistake.  We bet on someone who didn't already iron out all the kinks.  Turns out some of those kinks were pretty solid.

Yes, Yifu made promises he couldn't keep.  So did BFL.  This isn't the first time and won't be the last.  But Jesus you all wine so much about being "scammed" when part of the reason many of you are even HERE was because you believed in unregulated markets.

Caveat Emptor, right?  Maybe this will teach us to properly vet the investments we choose to pursue.
ALL asic purchases are a gamble, especially on the said delivery window,,,,,they all suck,,,

It's because people's greed overrides common sense, in other industries you wouldn't do pre-payments  for months or year in advance! The sellers have preying on the fear of increasing difficulty to drown out logical thinking.

There are pre-orders in video games.
Ya from reputable players like EA games, Microsoft, Blizzard, kinda comparing apples to oranges here Smiley

So, I tried to file a claim with paypal for a refund and they auto-rejected the claim because it is more than 45 days. Any advise on how to advance this further? Should I call paypal?

Keep in mind this is to everyone's advantage who is after order 45*. I never received any communication from Terrahash when I contacted them weeks ago. So, I assume I am on my own to try to get a refund through paypal. As I remember it, the refund policy was changed after I placed the order.

I am in the same boat.  Not much help from PayPal.  Now going through my Credit Card
Im not pursuing that route "yet" I still need more info on the delay in chips first. I would rather have the klondikes if possible in a reasonable time. I am not overly worried in forcasting the difficulty or the value of BTC at this time. Still will be money in it, in the short term anyways. It all depends on BTC value, People keep looking over the fact the BTC should rise as well as difficulty. What if BTC fell to 40 bux today? then the whole BTC world is kinda screwed for a while..lol...so...lets see wha pans out.

I wouldn't want to be a BitSyncom employee right now, with multi million dollars worth of chips going missing, I bet some really nasty people are out for blood, hence the security precautions that they have to take now, but the monies involved are so high that they would have to close the factory and find an underground bunker!

Oh I seriously doubt any chips have gone missing,,,,,,Im sure they(avalon) know exactly where every one of them is, maybe they just haven't bothered to tell zifu yet? Smiley

This is the account where the coins from chip orders have gone:

I addressed this awhile ago, who says that address is ours to begin with?
Oh shit,,,now that would be a serious problem Smiley wow what a horrible thought...lol

Sigh..... how does a company so knowing about components and sending them through customs make such a big mistake.

Some areas require less customs, many great stories on how companies have shipped electronic parts.   How did Avalon not at least use smaller boxes.... ship on multiple days.

Ship a ton of electronic components in big boxes, on the same day I'm guessing.  Is asking for a delay in customs.  And once they go there its hard to tell how long it will be.
Good point, agreed. Thats probably about the "size" of it. No pun intented  Shocked

Remember this one?

We can now speculate further on the contents of that conversation…
Lets go to the bathroom and take some lines. This plate looks perfect.

A couple of days later:

LOL, thanks for the chuckle,,,gotta keep some humor in here or we will all go insane!

Gosh with all these theories and speculations about what is happening with yifu and the chips and avalon,,its almost easier for me just except what he told us yesterday at face value. How ever bizarre things may seem, they may really be held up in customs and he really may have another chip route and supply in the works? And they really may be in development of Gen 2 chips and 3 and 4..lol. The way I see it is, yifu didnt have to come into the thread and say anything if he was on the take or getting ready to blow us all off, he could have simply just never came back. I certainly don't think all the chatter in here of law suits and all that mumbo jumbo caused him to appear for us,,then tell us some lies and then vanish again. I think there may be some merit to what he has stated to us. I feel, he really didn't know what to tell us for a month,,cause he probably didn't know himself? So now he has something to tell us and he did come back in with a report. Not what we wanted to hear of course, but he did come back. So slam and threatened all we want but its not going to change things at the present time. Perhaps he will come back in today or tomorrow with a better update or maybe news and ETA's of the chips?...ok, my 2 cents for now. Next week at this time it may be another story!!  Tongue

Its not that he is on the take or getting ready to blow everyone off - he doesn't want to do that because he has future plans for ASICs/tablet devices and such. Like I said, it was never about a full blow-off, it was just "blow them off until....x,y,z", then throw them a bone. We didn't really get any info. Like no ETA, why he didn't try to fix things with customs instead of running off to Amsterdam, etc. Most people, when they aren't sure of what is going to happen don't go into hiding unless you are in the Bitcoin world. Most professionals bite the bullet and say "look, we know you are expecting stuff and some of you have put a lot of time and money into this but this thing has happened and we are working out the details, please stick with us and we think it is possible to have your orders by such and such."

The way many of the entities involved in this handle PR is strange - there is no way that just all of them suck at PR by coincidence. They go silent for extended periods of time. They never show that they are trying to get the ball rolling when there are problems.  That is what leads me to believe it has nothing to do with PR. There are things going on that we aren't privy to. Don't buy it. And then they try to divert your objections by invoking sympathy for them with fabricated BS about hitmen.
Huh? I think you need a xanax my friend Smiley

Edit: In the bitcoin world we are not going to be dealing with very many professionals as we are accustom to. There are exceptions..like BKK, and a few others, and in the Onlne arena we have Coinbase which is a great example of professionalism,,,but its far and few,,,Like I have said Bitcoin is still in the wild west days of growth.

What all the uproar? the chips will start shipping again late next week. All will be fine. No one else is getting any right now so no new huge up tick in the network hash. (except for those pesky little block eruptors) lol, ok time to go to earn some real money for a while for a few hours Smiley
