I have a great Idea, I think the Klondike community as a whole, should designate pajak666 and vigil to be in charge of going after yifu and starting the legal proceedings against him and avalon. And report daily at a set time (in here) of their progress. Once the lawsuit is concluded, and restitution paid, (even if 3 years from now) we all can donate .001 BTC for all the effort we know they will put in to it.

Exactly so. The root source of my personal disappointment and anger at Mr. YiFu is the economic damage done to these people. For others to say, "oh, just forget about Gen 1, and fold those with gen 1 orders into gen2" ignores the effect on these efforts. Also, to ship gen1 now can still provide such things as the Klondike boards in time for many to recover some of what had been hoped. I'm not condoning what Avalon did. The way they handled bulk chip orders has been terrible, but that is water under the bridge at this point. You can't change the past. The only question now is what is in the best interest of bulk chip buyers from this point forward. well if nothing else, and assuming we never see the gen 1 chips for another month,,(for what ever reasons) then yes, at that point,,,then why not get the new chips if at same price and as was pointed out the new gen2 should be compatible with the basic klondike design.I dont know how many people/company's have actually had the new boards printed yet,,,so? I guess nothing is out of the question at this point. Not to say I would much rather have the gen 1 ship next week and be done with it! |

Because he and others are "in" on the "delay". Over in the TH thread, the only two guys who are trying to deter talk are the guys who visited TH to prove to us they were legit. This same thing was noticed in another operation - that those who visited the site were trying to defend the "business" who was not delivering on their promise. We need to be careful before we start to map out huge conspiracies involving members of the community. It's human nature to defend something that someone has grown close to, or something someone has come to support. Examples are everywhere, with each vendor. In most every case, there are real vested-interest shills, and then there are those who are simply vested psychologically, or emotionally, in a vendor or product. This is very true. Lets not let the Yifu delays turn everyone in here against each other. We all want the same thing in the end,,our chips, and Im sure Th and all the others want that as well. They all have out of pocket money invested as well. |

As far as selling my pre-order I think I am just going to file with my credit card company, because this is obviously a breech of contract on both Avalon, and although possibly unintentionally, TerraHash as well. We should all have our orders come Aug. 15th
I think we need to push Terrahash to go for a refund on the chips as Bicknellksi is trying to organize with all the group buys.

You wont be able to push TH into refund. I got my paypal refund long ago when they didn't meet deadlines they would post, they never even worked within paypal to resolve it. If you get it through route your talking it will be credit card getting cash back, TH will in no way help if past is indicator. I think my credit card takes care of all that. TerraHash needs to push Avalon into a refund. What don't you people get? Contracts were broken - all obligations for payment on our part and TH and group buys is void. Avalon owes us our money back. We all should have out Klondikes by now (well, by the 15th). Its time, actually past time to get the Avalon refund in process. It should really concern you all that TH is not even trying to put pressure on Avalon. I don't want my money back. I want my boards. Everyone is trying to put pressure on Bitsyncom (Avalon): Terrahash, Steamboat (Liquid Designs), Bitmine, and all others. What makes you think they aren't? The DIY companies did not pay for the chips with credit cards. Payments for the chips were made in BTC. The only recourse they would have is to bring some kind of lawsuit, which would take a year or more to come to fruition. Our orders are a little late. Once again, it's nowhere near what those of us with BFL orders have been put through. A couple of weeks.... Personally, I just want my boards. Agreed for now. I will be amazed to see if any of the others KNC etc actually deliver on time as well,,,we all know none of them ever have. Goes with the territory I guess |

Yifu should give 10,000 FREE 55nm chips to all the DIY designers. BKKCoins, Alten and Burnin. That might have the right positive message to the community. Sickening to see what has happened to such great projects. Here is hoping Avalon actually becomes proactive and supports the DIY builders in the right way.
+1 Most Avalon orders are generated by the work of these people! I wonder how much was generated by them? That is a really good question. There is certainly a great amount of power in the DIY community. Maybe other chip manufacturers will figure that out and support these sorts of efforts in future but sad to say that I bet quite a few people are going to rethink the whole idea given the result of this. Hope all this doesn't get you down BKKCoins... really great work so far and if miracles do happen the chips will arrive soon. Thats right! Miracles do happen, I am both hoping and praying for a miracle  Mining is part of my livelihood. But so much credit goes to BKK, I love the Klondike concept. I think we will see the chips and when we do, we just need to dust ourselves off and get back at it again. |

I also spent about 10-15 years being very angry, and the justification for that anger was strong. But anger only eats up the angry person from the inside. I have chosen that I will go forward in a productive way. I will make my decisions on what is, and not what I believe should have been. If you can be satisfied, then articulate what you want. Keep in mind that it will not seem feasible to receive chips tomorrow, nor to receive a refund yesterday. Also, with no regard whatsoever as to whether you believe Yufi, it will work best for you to read his words exactly and to construct your responses as if they are literally true. If they are true, then you are ahead of the game. If they are not true, you will maneuver him into a corner. In time, more facts will emerge; I plan not to look the fool when they do. If his words are true and you spread FUD, you, and not he, are the bad actor. As someone who has been shot and watched a daughter die, I have a very hard line on postings that advocate violence. They are across the line. No amount of hand waving that they are a joke or you were angry, or thoughtless, or drunk, or that you apologize will repair their cumulative damage. They are simply wrong. The Reality of the Situation is that Terrahash promised delivery two weeks after the chips arrived based on order queue.
They made assumptions (Just like all the group buys and every that placed an order with Terrahash) that Avalon chips would arrive much sooner than now, but that is what happens when you place a "Bet". Sometimes you lose.
Terrahash made no policy that if Avalon is late then they will refund you your money. Do you think any of the group buys for chips are refunding as well? Customers made a bet on Avalon delivering and they want to blame everyone else besides yourself for that.
It's time to wake up and take responsibility for your purchase. Either mine with it, sell it, or use it as a reminder of why you shouldn't spend more money than you can afford to lose.
At some point you will realize that while you may believe you are helping Terrahash, you simply draw out past arguments, that we should be over already. Once again, you are incorrect about refunds. Terrahash actually posted about refunds AFTER the pre-order date here and alluded to the fact that they were going to be honored. I only point this out, as you claim so often that you speak from logic and fact, and are once again wrong. Can we get past this refund deal? Those that want to do chargebacks are completely in their right to do so.
So, will preorders on Tuesday be part of the already ordered chips or not? If I login on Tuesday at 9AM and order say a DX Large (with you providing the chips). Is going to ship at the end of July/early August or 8 weeks later after you order more chips? This is really important if anyone here is going to take your Tuesday preorder seriously.
Will you let people know if they made the cut or not before they order? Or, are you taking a sort it out later approach?
As I mentioned before, we would be investing the pre-order money to buy more chips to meet our estimated requirement. So we would not be limiting the orders to the number of chips we have. Also, since some people will be paying with Wire (which takes up to 3 days), we will have no way to know which all orders have been paid for until then. However, within a week, we will email you the estimated delivery date. You can then choose to keep the order or ask for a refund.I feel Terrahash, had they recieved the chips based on the the only time they had to go on ( receive late july ), that they would be able to start delivering our boards in mid august, maybe late august, that has been my belief until now, with the "chips lost in space" event. But I do feel they will be found again and I will wait till the end of next week to see if they are. for now If not, I am going to call my bank and see what my CC policy offers on undelivered purchases.. |
