Since the new PC board hasn't been tested yet we can't be 100% sure its going to work with out some changes.
It sure would have been nice if TH would have bought 1 or 2 new PCB's a couple of weeks ago and tested it so they would be sure its ready for manufacture.

Or to discuss any negotiations they may be in with any supplier for any parts large or small? Whether said supplier is on time or late? Either way it makes no odds to me, as I chose not to pre-order. .... innocent piss poor project management. Now this could actually be true. Add to it being underfunded and you could easily see how a company could get themselves in to this kind of predicament. Which if course is a sensible alternative to the suggestion that they're out to intentionally scam people. Or it could actually be very good project management. - From the outset Terrahash was building this business on pre-orders, namely the order from Cloudhashing.
- When that fell through and they had to refund the money they had spent on chips, they opened up pre-orders to
you suckers the general public. - Knowing that without chips from Avalon they wouldn't have a product and would have to refund people, they didn't overextend themselves buying components that they'd get stuck with.
Just give me a couple more beers and I'll figure out this whole JFK thing next.  Most have, and do now build business based on preorders? Including yifu and avalon....pay before they are made" ? and yes they (TH) did have to refund cloudhashing, but i beleive had already used their money to place orders for chips,,,then cloudhashing got cold feet and wanted to bet on another horse,,well look were that got cloudhashing so far,,,they ain't got crap for mining gear yet, right now its a joke, they send out encouragement letters all the time,,I get em in my email lol,,,,In my opinion, they helped set Terrahash off on a bad footing, no fault of their own,,,mostly ok, |

It is far from clear cut that they wouldn't have been able to meet the original delivery date. Ever hear of JIT manufacturing? If you know Avalon chips are going to be delayed you don't order PSUs or any other components that are on a quick turn around. If you know you've got an X week lead time on cases you don't order them until X weeks before you need them. If you're expecting the first batches of chips in a month and your prototype board isn't quite ready then you take a gamble on being able to get it ready. That's still not clear cut that you won't meet the delivery date as promised.
How could they have known the chips were going to be delayed? We supposedly didn't find this out until Yifu posted some blurbs on a blog. TH was supposedly operating on the same information that we were, which was that the chips would arrive 9-10 weeks after placing the orders. They were delayed long before that announcement. Maybe they were waiting on a shipping notice that never came. Maybe they were waiting on delivery to their doorstep. Maybe they're clairvoyant. Whatever their reason for not ordering the components you cannot say that there was no way for them to make the delivery date, and call them charlatans and liars, any more than I can say with certainty that they would have, and that they are God's angels sent to deliver us Bitcoins. I'm just anti-speculation based on false logic. That's all. No, none of this is possible. If they were waiting on delivery that would have only given them two weeks, well there is stuff they ordered weeks ago that won't come in until next week or the week after. They must have known there was a delay or they simply weren't able to meet the delivery date. If they knew there was going to be a delay, they should have stated: "it has come to our attention that there will be a delay in the chip shipments by approximately 2-3 weeks, etc." Vigil, I really think your reading way to much into terrahash's side of things,,,your trying to peice together a puzzle or something that just isn't really there at the end of the day, you should focus all that investigativeness on finding yifu and our chips,,,TH will be ready when its show time. I fully understand them not ordering every possible thing, when all of us know including TH, that there never ever has been any certainy in getting bitcoin asic chips,,BTC is not a guaranteed event each day, it could collapse today,,then what? From a business perspective I would do the same as TH till I see the plane landing and my chips being unloaded. Thats just good business bottom line sense,,, a little thing called preserving your on hand cash and cash flow if ya have any left! |

I seriously considered placing an order at the beginning, but ultimately chose not to as I don't really have the liquid funds. If I was convinced they would deliver on time I might have ordered, but even then my funds would only allow for a single K16. What gets me right now is that people are snapping up ASICminer blades and Block Erupters at twice the cost per GH than Avalon offer. While they are actually able to be mining in just a few days of order the huge increases we see in difficulty due to the influx of new equipment prices them out of the market pretty quickly, and possibly even Terrahash before they even get started. Clearly this is why people are so upset. I got in to this game way to late and I'll never make a profit, but I would at least have liked a fighting chance. Doesn't look like that will ever happen now.
As far as the block eruptors,,,the 13 g/hash that are selling for 5,000 and early on for 13,000 lol,,,right now today that unit would earn you about $17.50 a day or $525.00 per month. ROI @5,000 bux (conservitively speaking) is about in 9.5 months...but would be more as difficulty rises....ok, food for thought. Oh and believe me about having the funds for a board?...I'm stretched myself on what is on order here, besides a sizable gpu farm i maintain,,,that hasn't paid for itself yet thank goodness for FTC right now |

All the group buys have to do is force Yifu and Avalon into face to face talks and place some legitimate damage compensation remedies on the table then move forward with what that will be. Yifu is going to play ball because it is too stupid not to. He made mad profit off this he can return a few percent of it back to counter the losses. Its not that big of a deal if people will just make it happen. Who wouldn't do that? Its baffling. What don't you understand about there is nothing to talk to Avalon about. If you try to threaten them, they delay your chips and you are royally screwed. If you try to contact them they don't pick up or reply. Maybe you don't understand the concept of being held by the nuts. Do you think Terrahash wants this delay? You have to be NUTS, they stand to make a ton of money from mounting peoples chips. Go read a nice long book I recommend this for you, by the time you are done Avalon will have delivered the chips and you can decide what to do from there. Of course there is. They missed their contractual deadline. If Avalon doesn't want to answer the phone then TerraHash and the group buys need to get a lawyer to force talks with them. How hard is that for you to understand. Avalon isn't going to want a lawsuit so they will compromise and make-up for lost time. they don't have to actually go through the whole process of litigation, they can negotiate. First, if they were even a US Based Company (I believe they are a Chinese Company) even if you "lawyered" up, it would take years to come to any sort of conclusion or remedy. Secondly, if they are a Chinese based company they will literally laugh at you if you mention the word lawyer. Sorry but this is how is it. Also someone already suggested this, do you really think you can "Out lawyer" them when they are sitting on 70,000 bitcoins? Avalon is a US based company. It would not take years it would take like a week or two once everyone was together and decided what they were going for. Stop spreading FUD. The only point is to put some pressure on Avalon to compensate for their wrong-doing. It would be the cheapest route for them. Right now he is just laughing cause no one has the balls to make it happen. So he hangs up and doesn't answer messages. If I had the money I would just sue the total fuck out of him and completely bankrupt any chances he has of ever getting anywhere for fun. +1 - Glad we agree. Although, I would add changing the refund policy right before taking orders and then stating that they would consider refunds in the forums as slightly slimy. exactly... IMHO in the event that he refuses a full refund to customers that decide to forego the wait after the committed 8/15 date, the loss of profit to us + paid monies + interest should be fully recoverable (if we can prove that the intent of terrahash was never to deliver on time) In many ways, we are helping terrahash ensure his exposure for trying to do the "right thing" is fair. As long as he follows through with all obligations other than Avalon issues at this point he should be in good shape... (I've not even gone through his other exposures yet-- does he have the labor in place to assemble. Has he proven out on the production rate whereby the delivery timing can be met. Has he conducted sufficient training with his staff etc etc etc) ...BTW avalon should hire some legal counsel. What was your order # with TH and how many chips total are you committed to? if you don't mind sharing that with us |

For me, I want the Klondikes. Not refunds preferably. And after that I want to reorder more from TH. I'm giving it another 1-2 weeks on the chips and for more accurate info on time frame. yifu said they will begin shipping late this week. So lets see. I'm sure TH wants them as badly as we do.

I really can't believe my eyes seeing people jumping into "replace non-delivered gen #1 with gen #2" business.
I think its not the best idea too since even when they are delivered in 2 months and the GH is half the price of a GH of gen1 you would make an even worse trade since the difficulty will then be 150 to 200 percent higher which means you would have less than before. That depends on spec doesn't it? I may have missed something here. Has that been confirmed? No info as far as i read, i only took the "half price" from the other companies that seems to have their offers in that range. Do you believe the chips are stuck in customs?
maybe I'm wrong, but if anything stuck on customs, it is usually in the country of receiver. Maybe its customs from Taiwan to China because the chip foundry is in Taiwan? Im not sure what this means. I hope not that its one of the companies that constantly crash and rebuilt their own company under a new name to prevent being reached by the law. German customs often have problems with copyright infringing companies at trade shows. If they have reached something against a company this company doesnt exist anymore but instead a company with nearly the same name, the same products and the same people inside. unless im reading it wrong it appears they are in Hong Kong? EDIT: I do realize Hong Kong is part of China tho |
