361  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: December 14, 2023, 07:06:39 AM
I saw Bollick playing already, not leading the scoring yet but it looks like he is already comfortable with his new team. NLEX starting strong, and have finished the first quarter with a double digit lead, if this will continue, they'll like win this game and their losing streak will be over soon.

This game is now getting exciting to watch, I thought it will be another blowout win by TNT, but they are the one who are trailing here.

Bollick was just facilitating the ball and they have a good ball movement resulting to a big lead they keep after the first half.

The score now is 39-58, that's a 19 points lead, I don't think TNT will be able to come back in this game even if they'll make this a single digit game, they may owned the 3rd quarter but they'll get tired in the 4th as they are undermanned. No Castro, so no good ball facilitator.

This NLEX team is the shi**iest now. Cry

At some point they were up 21 points and then suddenly they stop playing in the 2nd half.
I can't even imagine that they'll lose by a double digit after being up by a huge margin, I think they are done and betting on them everytime is like making a big mistake. Sorry for those who expected an easy win but was disappointed in the end.

I think they loss all their energy in the first half, they played well to offer that big lead to Asi as he was recognize for his long term journey in the PBA during the halftime break.  He actually retired. read the story for those who haven't seen the game live.

Taulava calls it a career

Quote
THE longest playing tenure in PBA history finally came to an end Wednesday night.

NLEX officially retired the no. 88 playing jersey of Asi Taulava, capping a long, 24-year playing career that had its own share of ups and downs.

The 50-year-old Taulava was with his entire family during the retirement ceremony held at halftime of the PBA Commissioner's Cup game between TNT and NLEX at Philsports Arena.

The evergreen Fil-Tongan was activated prior to the game to make it official his 24th season in the league in a career that began in 1999 as the direct Fil-foreign hire of TNT.

Coach Frankie Lim then made him part of the starting unit along with Rob Herndon, Matt Nieto, rookie Enoch Valdez, and import Stokley Chaffee.

Going back to the main topic, I see this like a similar scenario of the Warriors game where they are up early but ending up losing the game.

Just look at the 3rd (41-20) and 4th quarter (33-19) scoring.

That 3rd quarter alone TNT were able to come back in the game already, and going to the 4th quarter, we know that NLEX was already in trouble as the energy of TNT is so strong that they want to end the game with a dominant passion, and they did.

I want to make an investment with just $50 as a beginner i don't know which coin am i to start with but i heard been hearing a lot of people both physically and on social networks saying incredible things about (BTC), that is the best. please i need your assistance ??
Bitcoin is the only safest coin to invest especially that you are still starting to trade. Do not fall on the promises of altcoins but always stick to bitcoin. That way, you will be free from unexpected losses, and as long as you are going to hold bitcoin for long term and probably do DCA at the same time to increase the amount of your bitcoin portfolio, then believe me investing in bitcoin will bring a lot of big changes into your life, just trust the process and have faith in your investment.
363  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: December 13, 2023, 02:30:15 AM
But for tonight's game, it's unpredictable as it looks like a even match on paper. Although in the Mavs vs Lakers, superstars of the respected team might not play and that's why the Lakers are the favorite so I'm taking them with handicap -1.5 (the line though has move to -2.5 as of this writing).
The handicap is all over the place, earlier it was -4.5, and now it's down to -1.5 after I grabbed the ML(1.59) at the bad time.

Kyrie is out for the Mavs, but they still have Luka, so this could still be close. On a positive note, Lebron and AD are now confirmed for the Lakers, so they should have the upper hand here.

I'm going with the long road, here, the Dallas Mavericks are no walkover, not even without having Kyrie on the court, they've got Dante Exum, who been doing impressively and and Dereck Lively is also doing a great job on the board, so I can see them giving the Lakers a run for their money, so it's the Dallas Mavericks ML @ 2.34 for me.

Looking good so far, they were able to control on the first half but let's see if they could continue that. On the Lakers side, Davis were able to continue his impressive game during the in season championship, but his teammates aren't so on point, but there's this full 2nd half, let's see what kind of adjustment they'll make to come back in the game.

Yes, I would agree that it's been a good game so far Dallas Mavericks, but you know that the Lakers are not going to go away just like that, and they've outscored and outplayed, and as I was typing this post, Anthony Davis just scored a buzzer beating 3-pointer to give Lakers the lead as they about to head into the 4th Quarter, we are all in for an interesting 4th Quarter imo.

Now, we got a game. Lakers are currently leading but just a slim margin. We know that basketball is a game of run, so I think now it's a 50-50 game now. I'm watching the Celtics vs Cavaliers now, but as soon as the game is over, I'll shift my focus on the LA vs Mavericks game.

365  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Correction is possible in bitcoin price? After 40,000$ on: December 12, 2023, 09:53:28 PM
Bitcoin prices have been on the rise for the past two to three weeks, with no significant correction observed during this period. Currently, the bitcoin price hovers around $39,300. The surge in bitcoin prices can be attributed to the news of ETF approval circulating in the market.

However, what is your opinion? Do you anticipate a potential drop in the bitcoin price, revisiting $30,000 after reaching $40,000, or do you believe it will continue its upward trajectory towards $50,000?
No matter how bullish the market is, there will always possibilities that bitcoin price will experience correction, and that has been proven throughout the year. While it's unfortunate for those who have still started to invest, but it would be another market opportunity to let bitcoin investors coming in because of the sudden price decline. So bitcoin price correction also has its own share of advantages.

While it's highly possible, but it's also not going to take for long. The market is filled with exciting events that will happen by next year, so bitcoin price will immediately rise up again for a new ATH to welcome.
366  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would it be enough to buy 100 dollars worth of Bitcoin every month? on: December 12, 2023, 08:55:20 PM
I'm preparing for the college entrance exam to go to college, so I can't make money from working. I get about $100 of allowance from my father every month. I use all of them to buy bitcoin because I can use father's credit card for expenses such as food, clothes. I can buy Bitcoin on a satoshi basis every month, but when I see people buying Bitcoin basis on the internet, I feel like I'm too behind myself. Maybe they have a much higher income than me because they have a job. I think I can only invest $100 a month for the next year or two, would that be enough? I am worried about missing big bull market with halving and etf approval.
Having a good job that pays well, well that amount is already good enough. But for someone who don't have a fixed job yet, but just rely from his father's allowance, I guess that is quite too much for investment. You can only invest but only on the amount you can afford to lose, but if you cross that line, your investment might only go into waste and even lose your capital in the end.

My advice is, invest just 5-10% of your allowance since you are still starting to invest. Do not worry if you can't maximize your profits with this upcoming bull run, you are still a student so you have to focus more on your studies first as that would be your biggest investment in your life.
367  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 12, 2023, 01:24:55 PM
Thankfully, LBJ won the first in-season tournament because he won't have another chance next year because of his age and maybe this is the only championship he gets this year.

Are you kidding me? Why would you base on his age rather than his performance?

Look at Lebron's stats here ; https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/j/jamesle01.html

It doesn't even look like his performance has decline, and winning the in season tournament MVP is already a testament that he's still playing like a real NBA superstar. He won't be called Lebron the king for no reason, so while he is still playing, he is still the king.

Yeah right LBJ can still win a  In season MVP if Lakers could still dominate like that next season. Since it will all matter on overall team performance since if he's still good but he's teammate is declining then provably they might get over powered by their opponent. But this season first in game tournament is no luck for them since we see how good their performance is and we see how Lebron perform like there's no performance declining happening to him plus Davies is a total monster in finals.

For winning that in season tournament MVP it says all that there are more from Lebron James in future so provably we can see him balling for more years so expect if there's still in season tournament there's a lot of chance for him to win a MVP again.

Lebron spend a lot of money to take care of his body, at this age now, he's still playing like a prime player which is smarter and wiser now. Lebron is unlikely to get injured as he handles his role effectively, he doesn't attack recklessly but he gets his teammates involve and that makes the team gets better.

Reaves wasn't even known as a good contributor to the team, but Lebron unleash the skills of Reaves, and now he is one of the consistent contributor to the team and we can see how Lebron trusted him.

369  Economy / Economics / Re: Inventing a job is better than finding a job on: December 09, 2023, 07:50:46 PM
Inventing your own job and being the boss of your own self is probably the trend these days. A lot have been successful and living comfortable lives having their own jobs at home or anywhere of their own place, than being employed to a company where your opportunities to grow and increase your profitability is limited. Gone are the days where one should have a stable job in a company and makes a fixed income, because today people have even more dependent on their side hustles because the profits are undeniably bigger than what they gained from their stable jobs.

However, still we can see some people chose to be employed and get satisfied with their limited profits. Most likely, they're the old ones that probably we can say that they are already get used to their jobs and changes might not be welcome anymore.
370  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What should newbies do in trading? on: December 09, 2023, 01:26:14 PM
I'm also beginner in trading. I trade since this summer and I lost about $90 on $120 account. Recently I make $20 on last $34.
Throughout my journey in trading, I read Jack Schwager's book, watched many educational videos on YouTube, read many articles on the educational sections of CEX exchanges, and also talked with many traders. It seems to me that I understand enough about technical analysis, trading systems and trader psychology. But I'm at a dead end and don't know what to do next. Other traders advised me to just trade, but I think that over time I will lose my remaining $45, and demo trading does not bring such emotions and I don’t want to try hard when trading it
If you don't want to lose your remaining balance, then take a break from trading. It's not necessary to trade consistently when you are at the losing end, know when to trade and know when to stop. This is the reason why we should only trade on what we can afford to lose, at least there will be no issues if we happen to lose them all. Trading has a lot to lose than to gain, most especially if you are still starting learning to trade.

Using demo account never guarantees that you will be free from inevitable losses when trading in live. Its still different when you trade involving real money and emotions, which you can't learn from demo trading.
371  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Selling All Fiat In Bank For BTC? on: December 09, 2023, 12:46:55 PM
I am pretty sure that when people say sell "all" they do not mean the money they are going to buy milk with next day, that's not the point. Most people have two separate accounts, one where they invest, and one where they spend. You may have 800 dollars in your spending account, while also have 8k dollars in your savings, two separate places and not at the same place, could be even different banks and in this case could be bitcoin too. When they say they want to sell it all, they mean the savings, the investment, could be interest account, could be stocks, could be gold, doesn't really matter, just have money in your account for living, and rest all goes to bitcoin, and I have been like that for 7 years now.
"Sell all" does not actually mean that you also have to compromise the funds intended for your basic needs. The money intended for investment is separate from the money that will be used for paying bills, insurance, medication and the basic necessities of the family. Otherwise, your life will be a mess if it turns out that your chosen investment never works and your capital has been wasted.

We should always stick to the basic rule to only invest what we can afford to lose. We don't actually hold the future of our investments so always invest at its own risk.
372  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you believe you can win on sports betting by analyzing a betting lines only? on: December 09, 2023, 07:55:32 AM
-snip
How about you? Do you share the same perspective or not?
I don't believe that analyzing betting lines alone is sufficient for consistent success, but I think it can be a valuable starting point when combined with other analytical approaches and a strategic mindset. These betting lines provided by bookmakers are not based on complete information or every detail about a team or game, so they're not perfect. That's why I don't rely solely on betting lines; I still conduct my own statistical and qualitative analysis. However, even after doing these, the element of luck is still present.

Thanks for your comment, it's true, but these betting lines are the percentage of most gamblers, that's why bookies set that to ensure a betting on both sides. It may not be the only thing to consider for you but personally I can already make a decision without checking the stats by just looking at the betting lines, because I believe that Bookies are not missing any information that could give its bettors and advantage to result a betting on one side only, at least most of the bettors.

I guess we have our own srategy but I tell you, experience will tell us what to do to make our job easy.

If we consider these things.

1-betting against the public
2- possible fixed game

These aren't thought or can be seen through stats but it's important to be aware of these.
373  Economy / Gambling discussion / Do you believe you can win on sports betting by analyzing a betting lines only? on: December 09, 2023, 04:16:01 AM
When I say 'line,' I am referring to the spreads or handicap of a certain team in the game. Through my years of experience, I have noticed that putting effort into analyzing the team's statistics and other factors, such as news and rumors, does not significantly affect my chances of winning.

I got this belief now that bookmakers are already knowledgeable about these aspects, and they take them into consideration when establishing a betting line for a specific game.

How about you? Do you share the same perspective or not?
374  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Should trading be for the rich? on: December 08, 2023, 09:53:45 PM
There are people who have learnt how to trade, practiced on demo accounts for long but have not had the money to try trading on the market, and so they have abandoned trading to try search for money first. While there are others who have too little income, that they cannot profit from the market trading, they are always worried about loosing and because of that they make mistakes with their technical analysis and end up loosing the little money they have. Should trading be exclusive to financially comfortable and rich because of how risky it is?
You are looking at a single point of view, that is giving an advantage for those rich traders. While this is partly true, but we all know that trading is not limited to any social status, so any individual that is capable to trade is welcome in the trading market regardless of its social status. There are a lot of poor traders who have been living successful lives today because they excel in trading, just like there are rich traders who have been losing a lot today and end up struggling on their finances.

My point of view is that money is not the only key to success, but the knowledge, skills and experience in the trading market matter the most. So I be to disagree with your stance on trading OP.
375  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading advice for newbies on: December 08, 2023, 09:15:21 PM
New users within the crypto space should understand that crypto trading is different from gambling where a mere prediction can yield result. As a newbie within the crypto space kindly check the following before you go into trading.

1. Learn about the volatile market
2. Learn how to analyze chart
3. Take your time to practice demo trading before going into real trading.
4. Do not be greedy, take profit when it’s best to do that, do not hope to get the whole world at a time.

You need to understand the learning process takes long, you have to be calm and follow through the process, if you’re too interested in the profit and not the skill or you don’t have time to do so, you can opt in for copy trading where you get to copy trade from elite traders and make profit, though copy trading is not available on all exchanges just few exchanges like Bitget has it.

Good luck newbies❤️
Trading might not be safe for newbies because of the risk it brings. But if these newbies will insist to do trading, then their money, their rules. And they should expect more losses than gains, even professional traders still fall on losses. But still this is not enough reason to easily quit from trading, just continue to trade and always chose to stay patient and positive regardless of the inevitable losses that newbies may encounter.

Trading losses are the best way to learn in trading. With that, you will dare to improve your trading skills and strategies so you won't be losing a lot and won't do the same mistakes again that will make you feel less being a trader.
376  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do you think people can overcome any danger if they want to? on: December 08, 2023, 08:37:22 PM
Crypto investment is not a stable source of income. It's an investment where you can win or lose, since it's a risky one. Instead of thinking how to make profits from crypto, find a stable job first so you can help your family and you can give cash assistance to your father for his medication. Crypto cannot guarantee profitability at all times, so if you still want to invest, only invest with a small amount, but keep looking for a better job to support your family.

However, keep on learning bitcoin and the forum. That will be useful to you and you will learned a lot from the different experiences of other members, but for now look for a better job first that compensates you well before you decide to invest in crypto.

377  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Looking to sell a computer to raise money to invest in Bitcoin. on: December 08, 2023, 07:51:16 PM
I'm 19 years old, living in Korea, and I'm thinking of selling a computer to raise money to invest in bitcoin. I think I can sell it for about $600. I get about $100 a month as an allowance from my father. $100 is only for personal use, not for living expenses. I've been using these $100s to buy bitcoin for a few months now. It's ridiculously small money, but I believe it could be quite a lot of money if I keep saving it steadily. Is selling a computer the right decision?
That computer will be very useful to you since you are still a student, so I don't agree selling it to add more funds on your investment. I suggest you focus more on your studies, not on your bitcoin investment. It can actually wait until you get a stable job and you will be more capable to invest and will not worry anymore if you end up with losses. Bitcoin is an investment, it won't always guarantee that investors will always end up with profits.

Learn to invest with caution. Do not risk with a bigger amount as you are still not free from losing in the end, but only invest on the amount that you are comfortable losing.
378  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 08, 2023, 01:38:53 PM
LeBron is putting on a master class in basketball domination right now. He wants to win this tournament. He’s got 30 already early in the 3rd quarter and hasn’t missed a free throw or a three pointer yet this game as the Lakers hold a 30 point lead. If I were the coach I probably wouldn’t let him play the fourth quarter, but if he does he might end up with 50.

This is the first time they have done this tournament and Lebron should exert all his effort to win it to add to his list of accomplishments as an NBA player. I cannot believe that he can play like this at his current age, still, he is dominating with the help of his teammates. if only they can continue to perform such play throughout the season, their chance of winning the championship will drastically be increased. Nevertheless, they should not let this opportunity slip on them because this is a one-in-a-lifetime opportunity. After all, LBJ is already old and he can't be assured of getting back this chance again next year.

I guess the outcome of this game would add to the achievements of Lebron James being a hall of famer, so the the Lakers will likely win this game. Bron's Team being the champion on the first in-season tournament is going to be a good recognition for him, so expect that he'll play like it's the NBA Finals and would bring the trophy.

By the way, is there a in season tournament champion MVP? Because I like to know if there's a betting odds on that as definitely I'm going for Lebron James to win.
379  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Regis Prograis vs Devin Haney (9th of December) on: December 08, 2023, 12:59:02 PM
And tomorrow night will be the final weigh-in, hopefully I can get to watch it live too (timezone difference). But yeah, Bill Haney is running his mouth and both camps are really disrespectful against each other and for sure fans are hype.

And if I'm not mistaken, tickets is sold out expect maybe those upfront and those expensive tickets.

Hopefully both can really bring their A-game here and they can back up their talks pre-fight.

For sure the ticket price is high for those who are in the front sets, they have a clear view to the actul fight so they have to pay for a bigger price. Anyway, we can also check the PPV price.

https://www.marca.com/en/boxing/2023/12/06/6570bba322601df3438b4568.html

Quote
The PPV price for subscribers is: $59.99, and $74.99 for non-subscribers. The monthly subscription to DAZN is $19.99 with a 12-month contract or $24.99 month-to-month in the U.S., while the annual subscription costs $224.99.

The PPV is also expensive especially if you are a non-subscriber, no wonder illegal streams are very popular.
380  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Jamie Dimon said he would close Bitcoin down if he was in government on: December 07, 2023, 08:53:10 PM
Now, that people know his stance on bitcoin, for sure bitcoin enthusiasts will never support him so he won't be seen gaining a position in the government. His stance on bitcoin shows a lot of hatred, that's why I came to think what is there in fiat that he needs to protect it just like himself. If he's running a monkey business with fiat, then it's obvious why he's behavior towards bitcoin is like that.

But this is just his part of the plan. And we still don't see him in the government yet, so this still remains an illusion for him.
