361  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sam Bankman Fried (scam banker fraud) 25 years on: March 29, 2024, 09:00:45 AM
We need more convictions of crypto scammers because the crypto space still has a lot of crypto scammers running rampant all over the market, they're not scared that SBF is getting sentenced to 25 years, they know that they can never be caught but to be honest, there's just not a lot of people that want to try their hands on capturing these scammers. I believe that more examples is going to be the biggest thing that anyone can do to make a statement that crypto scammers aren't immune to prosecution, I just that SBF isn't the last person that's going to be indicted of these kind of crimes. It's a big news for us that want to see this criminal pay for what he's done. Looking forward to the Luna founder too being extradited in US and getting sentenced in the US.
362  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is the newly minted USDT, a driving force to surge of BTC ? on: March 29, 2024, 08:07:39 AM
More people are buying or wants to invest in bitcoin and most of them if not all are using USDT to buy bitcoin for themselves and what better thing to do than to just "print" more USDT, so I do think that the increase of USDT could be because the price of bitcoin is skyrocketing not to mention that some fools are hodling their USDT and they need a way to make sure that those that are selling their bitcoin and other crypto can still get their USDT, I don't believe that the increase in USDT is the reason for the price surge though, a lot of stuff happens in bitcoin market that could influence the price surge like the ETF, that's why I believe that it's not the case.
363  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Craig Wright Satoshi Claim Case Update on: March 29, 2024, 07:32:39 AM
It was already proven that he is indeed not satoshi nakamoto so he has a lot of explaining to do. He will be in even worse trouble if the money he has accumulated came from illegal activities. I wouldn’t want to be in his shoes right now.
The money probably didn't came from an illegal activities but nonetheless they're probably dirty, I mean he's got a lot of supporters that believes he's Satoshi Nakamoto so it's not impossible to infer that he's got some kind of financial support from those people. I don't think that CSW will ever consider telling that he's not really Satoshi Nakamoto, he'll probably going to commit to that joke until he's on his grave, the delusion that he's got is just too strong to admit defeat in the face of an unrelenting adversity which is jail time, dude probably regretting it inside but has to commit all the way.
364  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scam Emails requesting Bitcoin. on: March 29, 2024, 06:36:12 AM
Never pay any sort of extortion attempt. If you pay it once, they'll probably keep going and look for a 2nd or 3rd or 4th payment.
Exactly, that's how they do it with a lot of these scams, once they know that you can be ran over and they can easily get more money from you, they're definitely going to try again, basically paying them once will make them hold you by the balls. This was taught in one of our cybersecurity course in college, you got your computer infected by a ransomware, don't pay them, just learn to back up your files and move on because the moment you pay them, they'll just come back again after some time.
365  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Loan Default - asu u=519783 on: March 29, 2024, 05:54:46 AM
@pinggoki  - there are others who lend from time to time, but increasingly, there aren't the checks and balances and as I said to broke_tradah, when the lender gets burned, they expect the rest of us to come in and mop up their mess with support of flags or scam accusations.
I think that it's a fair thing, that's the least that we can do for them since they're the one that's lending money, I find nothing wrong in doing that for them. I wouldn't say mop up the mess since we the supporters of the flag wouldn't be helping any other way to the people besides the flag support. Mopping up mess means we're solving the issue for them but I don't see it so I don't think that's the phrase that we're looking for on this one.
366  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Loan Default - asu u=519783 on: March 29, 2024, 04:10:24 AM
Sounds like you're attempting to squirrel a little reputational blame shift here. These people didn't sell their accounts, they just turned out to be dirtbags. They were likely dirtbags all along (at least TYM was, I don't know so much about the case of asu). What a weird thread to bump for an even weirder reason.

Dirtbags have come and dirtbags gone. Both shasan and DireWolfM14 continue to perform an important service out of the kindness of their heart, and for some reason they both still believe in the overall good of humanity. We need more people like that in the world; especially on the forum.
I guess this comes with the business of having to lend your bitcoins to someone, you have the biggest risk since the collateral isn't really that worth to the person that's applying for the loan. I do agree that we need more people that are doing service for many out of believing in good and I also would like to add that we also need more people to protect this kind of people, let us do the dirty work for them while they do all the good things that they can do, it's not that difficult to do it here too, just a good call out on someone trying to finesse a good person is enough to make sure that dirtbags like them don't ever take advantage.
367  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [SCAM] heylink.me complicit in crypto drainer scam on: March 28, 2024, 01:33:15 PM
The reason that they're probably doing all of this is because they've got a cut on the people that are running that link, which means that they're not just unaware, they're complicit to the actions behind it so they should be liable in the case that someone files a complaint. I hope that they'd get reported to the proper authorities, someone has to suffer the consequences of their actions from time to time, people always getting away doing bad stuff to innocent people.
368  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When you are not to gamble. on: March 28, 2024, 12:29:13 PM
👉👉when you are in need of money urgently
Some people gamble the most when they are in need of urgent money. They use the little in their account to gamble believe they can double the money in no time through gambling to do what they want to do. This most times go wrong making them to lose the little they should have save for that purpose

👉👉To regain back your loses
Pursuing loses in gambling make you lose more. So it better to have a break when you have lose alot. That period may not be your own lucky time to win. Taking a break can help you to avoid being addicted and also save you from losing more.
Believe it or not, you can say that this is also the reason why you've got to gamble too, it's pretty obvious with the first reason, you need money urgently? Gambling can give you that quick cash, that is if you've got the will to risk your money to double or even multiply it by a lot but the odds are against you, there's not a lot of people that have been successful with gambling their last money to multiply it to solve their urgent need for money. The second one is done when you're already mid gambling, you losing too much then that can be a reason to gamble even more hoping that the gambler's fallacy would be on your side and do you the favor of getting back the losses.

In my opinion, I think that these reasons that OP has given are pretty flimsy because the two listed can be a reason to gamble too, maybe it's best if you don't find the reason to gamble but just learn discipline and make sure that you're not gambling when you can't afford to do so and you can stop gambling whenever you want to.
369  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling between the past and nowadays on: March 28, 2024, 11:44:19 AM

Unfortunately, with the proliferation of online gambling, there are a lot of people who are turning into addicted individuals. I hear stories that someone who experienced a big money, with tens of thousands of dollars, he goes back and try to duplicate that win. But we all know that games like slot machine is base on pure luck, and so with that, he losses his money that he won and now is addicted to it.

So very hard to control today as compare to those days wherein not every person can gamble, because they are afraid to enter a land base casinos. Now it's different, just have a mobile phone and then register, deposit without showing your face and then start playing.
That's the price of convenience, we all loosen up and get lazy, that's always been the thing with a lot of things. Good times really does create weak men thus creating bad times. Totally agree with that last part, accessibility lead to more people that don't have the discipline to try gambling and they end up getting addicted, those stories of people getting addicted is really something that scares the living out of me because it could be my loved ones that would get the addiction and I know that it's going to be a hard time to dealing with them.
370  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Karate Combat on: March 28, 2024, 11:09:08 AM
I'm not really familiar with the rules of Karate, but this seems like a fun thing to watch. Karate is the only martial arts I know that isn't really utilized in betting that much so this might not really sell to a lot of people.

Then again, it's a new venture, and anything new is welcome to the gambling space.
It's pretty standard from what I've watched, almost the same striking rules with MMA so there's probably not a lot of things that would be out of place when you watch this as an MMA fan. It's not a new venture, 2018 is a long time so I think that they've probably got some changes on the inside that made it so they're focusing on growing the sports on the international stage, I feel like the reason why karate as a sport isn't as popular because there's some people in the upper echelon of the organizations are gatekeeping it as a sport that everyone can watch.
371  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: International break's in football. on: March 28, 2024, 10:21:32 AM
I don't get the point of not taking a break though, are they like some kind of robots that they can afford to not take a break and that even if they do this all year long, they wouldn't experience any kind of mental breakdown? Football players are pretty much humans like the fans so I don't agree about not taking breaks, even if they make a lot of money, I don't think that no money can provide them the care that's equal to taking a break.

Another interesting question is this, as a father would you force it on your child to also fan the same club you're a fan to, or you will allow him be himself to fan any club of his choice even if it's your most rival club of all times.
Probably the most pathetic and stupid thing that you can do to your kid, to have them continue what you're dreaming of as if that's how you should do things as a parent, unless you're a really bad parent that would want to raise a kid that doesn't love you and will grow to resent you then yes you could force them to like the fan club that you're a fan of, if they show interest then it's good to at least be that way but forcing them when they don't want to is not the way to go. It also is a good idea to allow them to be a fan of other clubs or a rival one at that, it raises the kid's confidence and the sense of being competitive is instilled to the kid although too much competitiveness is a bad thing too.
372  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the #1 rule you live by in sports betting? on: March 28, 2024, 09:09:04 AM
Same with my rule #1 when I play in poker, slots, and baccarat, don't gamble what you can afford to lose, pretty foolproof strategy but at the same time, works really well and doesn't cost me my sanity. The rule that's unique when I do sportsbetting is that I'm only playing safe as much as possible, if the odds are really close, just go to the lowest for the safe bets but not so low that you lose money even if they win, and it's also worth noting that if the odds are on the double digit territory but at the higher end of the double digit odds, considering to bet on them is probably a good idea.
373  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling between the past and nowadays on: March 28, 2024, 08:31:17 AM

Those who like online gambling, of course the environment they live in considers gambling not a good thing to do in front of many people and most people around where they live don't like gambling so they have to gamble online and this can help them to channel their gambling desires because only the closest people only one can know that they are gambling.
Rich people still like gambling in person because some of them think gambling would be more fun to play in person because they like meeting other bettors in person.
Well, that's exactly my point, people yearned for the convenience of gambling and so online gambling became a popular thing for others to do gambling and sadly it's also because of this that people are getting more addicted to gambling and as you've said also made it difficult for their loved ones to find out that they're gambling since they don't like gambling and would probably be mad about you when you're gambling.
374  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does gambling excites you ? on: March 28, 2024, 07:56:13 AM
Of course it does although it's a different feeling when you're on a losing streak, you're likely to feel more frustrated rather than excited with all the losses that you've incurred in that session. But other than that, it's not a bad thing or a negative to me that I'm feeling that whenever I gamble, it's not like I gamble all the time and I don't mind the losses, it's just frustrating is all, I guess that's what you get when you're gambling. One detail with what I said that you shouldn't miss is that I'm different from you and if you think that this can work with you, you might be totally wrong because you don't got the same tolerance as me when it comes to frustration and you might see yourself being led to something far worse so this is just me sharing how I gamble and how I feel and what I do to deal with it, it's not an inspiration for you.
375  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: OFAC has imposed sanctions against Russian blockchain service operators on: March 28, 2024, 06:35:33 AM
This is just my theory but these exchanges do deserve that sanction because they're used by the Russian government to secretly and discretely get fund their war with Ukraine, with all the sanctions that they've got, it's not far off to think that they're going to cheat and find a way to circumvent the sanctions that are imposed to them and what better way to support an ally by secretly funding them, that's how I see these things with these Russian exchanges, I mean they'd be not putting in the effort of creating another version when the other exchange shuts down right? Man, Russia really got a large war chest and influence to be able to do this kind of thing, they really want Ukraine.
376  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: in future are you hoping to see some countries in Africa legalis bitcoin. on: March 28, 2024, 05:23:39 AM
Yes, Africa is an untapped potential of a continent and if you ask me, if they can ever stop the terrorism, civil wars and corruption in a lot of countries in Africa, that continent is going to be the most prosperous of all. I think bitcoin is going to be a big help too, they're going to benefit from the fact that they've got an option to invest in something that's out of reach of many people that may try to steal from them, that's what I can get from all of this, I do believe too the legalization of bitcoin or cryptocurrency in general is a really big economic help for everyone especially the low income individuals that don't have the ability to increase their income. This will not just benefit the individual but also the economy of the country as a whole, with more purchasing power for individuals, more products and services are bought thus increasing demand and production.
377  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Countdown to the 4th Bitcoin halving.. what should we expect? on: March 27, 2024, 04:18:40 PM
Our expectations after this year halving is in seeing that bitcoin market rises up to $200,000 and many investors are being profitable in their respective investments made on bitcoin, you can agree with me that we cannot accurately predict the time the all time high is coming but we can go by the steady speculations and follow up on the trend of how it being volatile, next month which is April will be the month to expect the halving taking place.
I hope that's for real but I know bitcoin isn't going to go that high this year or anytime soon, 200k is just too far and too ambitious in my opinion, maybe a 170k could be the best outcome but a 200k is close to impossible, maybe if we get more people to invest in ETFs and more people adopting bitcoin and investing in it then we'd probably see it go to that point but with the current growth in terms of bitcoin adoption which is steady, I don't believe that it's going to go to 200k, so the best thing to expect in this situation is probably nothing at all, it's bitcoin, it's always been an expectation defier and for us to expect it to do what we want it to do is just shameless and a disservice to bitcoin being known as a volatile asset.
378  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are the pros and cons of gold compared to bitcoin? on: March 27, 2024, 06:53:55 AM
The biggest advantage of gold is that it has thousands of years of history behind it, and we know that unless its supply suddenly becomes overflooded, it won't drop in value much. But Bitcoin's value is not understood by anyone, it goes up and down, and so far the long-term trend has been positive, but it could just as easily reverse. To put it simply, Bitcoin is many times more risky than gold. That's why Bitcoin is not a reliable store of value right now, but rather a high risk investment.
I doubt that an overflow in gold supply would make it less valuable than it already is, humans are shiny loving goblins so I don't think that gold being a shiny metal would ever be a thing that would be of less value to a human. Definitely the thousands of years of history is a helpful in establishing gold as better than bitcoin but given the value and potential that's on bitcoin in just a decade, it's not a bad idea to consider bitcoin as a better investment than gold. Bitcoin might not be a good store of value but if you're in it for the long-term, you're probably not that worried about the short-term price fluctuations.
379  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Upon the death of a bitcoin user. on: March 27, 2024, 05:52:03 AM
For me, I wrote down all the cryptographic credentials on a physical notebook. In the event of my death, they can get access to my funds. For that, I have to teach someone from my family about crypto. So I did it, which means my family members can access the funds in case any accident happens to me. There is a matter of trust, of course. So I have to trust someone, and I have to secure my notebook in my way. I don't see any other alternative right now to secure my funds for my next generation.
That's what I did too although the part where I teach them about how to use crypto, I haven't done it yet. I'm still too young to really worry about my mortality and so far I'm fine. Hopefully I would be telling them how to do it but right now, it's not the time, they know about the notebook though but I hide it so it's not going to be lost or anything like that. I also added in the notebook the reason for why that notebook exists, that way, they're not going to be problematic about what to do with it in the case that I'm gone. It's a good thing too that death has been a consideration for me after all this time because it's a therapeutic thing to do.

My brother in Christ, I don't want to know if you've used AI in your post cause I'm too lazy right now to check it but if you don't, you probably could've used some help making your post a little bit more understandable for other people because you're not going to be getting your point across many people and it wouldn't be worth talking over if you don't make it coherent for everyone of us. I hope you wouldn't mind or take it hard with my criticism, really want to help you out. You can also focus on posting in your local language board, who knows, you might be able to learn more there and you can communicate much easier there.

Make it make sense, your post I mean.
