3801  Other / Meta / Re: Lauda still on DT2, engaged in tax fraud RE mod income, extorted member RE same on: March 23, 2018, 05:49:23 PM

Still this thread not reached to FBI, but ill submit it to FBI and CBI.nic.in as one Indian here said same thing retarded.

You never seen Lauda's nasty things here?

While your at it better not forget interpol, MI6 may want to take part. I guess when their done with Thanos you can get the evengers involved, if their busy call the X-men Professor x will answer all your questions, just need to take off the tinfoil hats.

I don't imagine Lauda plans on showing off their "nasty things" to the forum it's not like this is Tinder.
3802  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Diet bitcoin... really? on: March 23, 2018, 03:00:30 AM

i do respect his honesty. 'lots of people are making money out of cryptocurrencies. guess i should too.'

The honesty was refreshing.

The rest of it made me laugh. It was like he woke up in December and said I could do that.

I did think about throwing 10 bucks at it but then I thought maybe that's how he's going to make his money.

He might be confused in how all other coins will be worthless; new industry new rules. He can't just walk into a city and slaughter the competition lol
3803  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Diet bitcoin... really? on: March 23, 2018, 01:11:54 AM
So it appears Roberto Escobar wants to revolutionise the crypto currency market. With his brand new idea of forking bitcoin. Lol

There is an article here talking about it and among other things he claims the CIA  created bitcoin and will sell all their coins and tank BTC's price in the process.

I am shocked that he would point fingers at the CIA. Roll Eyes

If nothing else it's an funny read. I guess it's easier to fork BTC than to sell tons of cocaine.

EDIT: link should work now

It only makes sense for them to use a smaller pool. CKPOOL would be the obvious choice as they already have a working relationship.

I don't know if there is extra data they are looking for besides the burn in rates for their machines. If they are why not use the pool run by the person writing code for you.

It's not like their were going to go and point them at Antpool; and start mining for the competition  Grin
3805  Other / Meta / Re: Lauda still on DT2, engaged in tax fraud RE mod income, extorted member RE same on: March 21, 2018, 10:37:14 AM
I am so far out of all these issues. I don't care about Lauda's taxation habits, and I don't think it is anybody else's business either.
The only thing that would interest me is if he paid his taxes using Bitcoin.

If Lauda was Canadian it is entirely possible they paid their taxes in bitcoin

https://globalnews.ca/news/3994680/bitcoin-cra-scam-8000/

Lauda would also have to be dumb as bricks. ( Not suggesting this)

This thread is like a train wreck I can't bring myself to stop coming here and looking.
3806  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: My bitcoins directly to my heir? on: March 21, 2018, 08:52:41 AM
Could you not also create a paper wallet or something along those lines and have it placed in a secure location.

If you are planning on having it go to your heir this could be handled by your last will and testament. Whatever you have it placed in is then bequeathed to your heir with instructions on how to access the BTC (assuming you have not already taught them how to access the wallet. This way the items are not passed along until after your death as that seems to be what you are going for. It also takes out the chance that your heir forgets their password or abandons their wallet; or heaven forbid passes at the same time as you.
3807  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Sapphire RX 580 8gb Nitro+ Special Edition bulk selling on: March 21, 2018, 08:35:15 AM
Me and my partner have a trading company that deals a lot with China.

Among other products our supplier has gpu's on stock. That is why gpu's i offer have fast shipping ( stock items ).

There are many people who have a lot of deals in China and they are still out of stock this really means nothing.

Seeing as you had the cards there for a photo, as was previously asked why didn't you ad your forum name and date??

If you are refusing to use escrow surely you would accept a Paypal goods and service.

The forum may seem harsh but you do not have a leg to stand on, if you want to sell here you really do have to meet the requirements of the forum. There are to many people trying to scam people.
3808  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cloud Mining - Where Are The Reputable Operators? on: March 21, 2018, 07:51:50 AM
Anytime I see someone ask about cloud mining I tell them to turn and run. It is essentially a Ponzi scheme used to increase their own hardware.

When I was brand new to crypto I was mining at bitcoin.com pool, and followed a lot of questions on their forum regarding the cloud mining contracts. What I picked up on was that you really only made money on any of the contracts if the price of BTC rose while you were on contract, or you held the coins mined until the price rose. So most of the time you were better off buying coins and holding them as you would not have to cover the daily fee. In the world of cloud mining I guess you could say this is reputable, as they haven't just run off with anyone's money.

Many people got burned because there is usually a clause that allows them to terminate the contract if it becomes unprofitable( looks like it is there to help the customer) but if you in reality want to mine through the good and the bad you should be able to mine at a loss until you decide to end the contract. During September to December they were constantly out of contract availability because they couldn't get enough hardware, this is because every dollar given to them just helped them expand their operation.

In the end I always ask people why would they give you the profits they could keep for themselves?

So like with any good scheme, some people make money and then a lot of people lose, or get lucky because the price of BTC rose and they did come out ahead just not as far as they would have been with their own coins.

All of what I said doesn't even include the many blatant scams that pop up.

3809  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Old AntMiner S5 mining issues on: March 21, 2018, 05:25:19 AM
If the unit is dead here is a thread in the Marketplace where someone is buying dead hardware.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2608970.0

That's what I did in December with my dead s5's, and various other parts.

If you do plan on merging the miner with another one, just remember to check the cables running from the control board to the hashboards as there were different models with a different number of connector pins.

I found that out when I first tried to do the same thing.  Best of luck
3810  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Where to sell? on: March 21, 2018, 01:53:22 AM
Where in Canada are you located?

Are you willing to do local pick up?

If it has to be shipped will you accept trusted forum escrow?

Can you post some pictures of the units with your BTC talk name to verify the products?
3811  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Notes from my journey to Beijing & visiting Canaan Creative in March 10-15, 2018 on: March 21, 2018, 01:35:20 AM
The Key  of course was explaining to people that  its not optimal to send a whole unit back  IF you design a machine  to be  in field repairable.

It is a great idea. My repair needs were minimal, but it was nice to have the fan shroud shipped out so I could replace it myself rather than 1) leave it and see if it caused issues, or 2) ship it out for such a minimal repair.

Love seeing Canaans business and service network continue to grow.
3812  Economy / Services / Re: Large Hosting Required (Canada) on: March 20, 2018, 12:42:40 PM
If I understand you correctly you are looking for an established hosting facility that is looking to upgrade.

You are willing to pay for the upgrades; or are just providing the promise of filling their facility with your miners?

In Canada the only facility I know of that is still actively communicating with people and is not facing litigation is cryptoboreas.

http://www.cryptoboreas.com/

They are a great team to deal with.

3814  Other / Meta / Re: And I Was Fucked Up For The Campaign on: March 20, 2018, 05:44:09 AM
I've worked on several of Yahoo's campaigns and can say this. I've seen Yahoo try and coach people to not just post the bare minimum required for the time period for the simple fact some of your posts may be deleted.

I do know that most campaign managers look at the number of posts after your initial post for gaining entry into the campaign, not just your post count total.

As for your future, if you want to earn money; great nothing wrong with that but you need to put in the effort of being able to put in a quality post. If you are just replying with the same generic crap that everyone else already has then the odds are that thread is doomed for the trash bin.

If you manage to gain knowledge on any subject to a great enough degree ( wallets/exchanges/ mining/ trading) then you can usually look around and find a way to contribute to the discussion in a meaningful way. This is truly the only way you will continue to earn by doing Sig campaigns. This will help you get Merit and increase your rank to the next pay tier.

But... you were paid the full amount you should have? What exactly are you complaining about? Yahoo should be counting based on time, and not starting post count, so if your older posts were deleted, it shouldn't matter. Also, how is this a Meta issue? I don't see how complaining/being annoyed about mods doing their job is a bad thing. The actual lesson should be: If you're in a campaign, please don't post just for money, it's okay if you don't get paid.

Seeing this though I feel that OP may fall in to the category of people not reading everything or doing their due diligence before posting. I wonder how you missed seeing the payment received as you yourself stated this is a good amount of money in your country.

3815  Economy / Digital goods / Re: WTS $200 Bitmain coupons for $50 OBO on: March 20, 2018, 05:34:35 AM
You are posted in the wrong section. this should be in Marketplace.

Reported to MODS to be moved.

In regards to the coupons, you will want to make Forum Escrow available to any purchasers, and also provide proof that you indeed have the coupons you are trying to sell.
3816  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Hashrate RX 570 on: March 20, 2018, 05:27:25 AM
Just putting this out there, as I did a first time BIOS mod on my first rig.

I was getting 24.5 MH/S while running my 5 card rig.

MSI Armor 570 8gb 3 of these and 2 of the MK2 versions. I used the BIOS on this forum and applied it to see.

https://anorak.tech/t/msi-rx-570-armor-oc-8gb-micron-memory/60541

I am now getting in the range of 30.5 MH/S

I still haven't gone over everything with a fine tooth comb but was ecstatic, as I thought I lost the memory lottery when I saw all my cards were Micron memory. In the end it was like adding another card to my 5 card rig with the improvements I've seen so far.
3817  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: TRON (TRX) is going crazy. on: March 20, 2018, 05:01:43 AM
I bought into the hype of this coin when it dropped from it's ATH to .11, It was my first attempt at catching an alt as it bottomed and bounced and hopefully had steady gains.

Then the bottom continued to drop and the death spiral of 2018 took it down further. My bonus is that it was essentially found money that I invested and it was only the amount I was willing to lose.

So I will be a bagholder to the end on this one, because maybe this all star development team can pull their heads out of their a$$es and start laying down some solid evidence that they are worthwhile. I have seen promises so far that have gone no where, and teasers to the next big partnership. Either way, I check the price every couple of days but have long since lost the hope of a steady rise.

Anyone thinking of investing in TRX, this is probably a good time if you believe they can make something happen, as all the crap news has already come out(plagiarism and what not) but do so only with money you are okay never seeing again.
3818  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: electricity set up for newbie on: March 20, 2018, 03:47:08 AM
Circuit breaker says 100A, so I guess this is good. Is it fine to use an extension cable in a socket if I wish to run more?

Starting here. You do not want extension cables, just another point of failure and a fire hazard. I see below you are considering a PDU; good idea if you plan to expand further.

Your voltage at your outlet should be 240 ( I believe this is standard in the UK) so the amperage per S9 for you is anywhere from 5.9 - 6.1 Amps. ( I use 220 as my voltage for calculations and the Bitmain numbers from 1300-1340 W)

I see others have given 7 amps, either way it doesn't change my recommendation.

Now here's where it gets tricky for you, as we still don't know what amperage the circuit you are running off is. There are a few ways to figure this out. Usually your panel is labeled telling you the number and location each breaker controls. If you can't find this you can plug in a lamp and flip breakers off one at a time until you identify the circuit ( the light will go off once you find the right one. This will also allow you to identify the rest of the circuits in your home if you are unlucky and go through all of them. Keep in mind every time you flip one you will kill power to everything on that circuit; so hopefully no one is on life support.

Depending on what you find- If you have a 20 amp circuit and it's the only one in your miner space, you can safely run 2 S9's as is, or have an electrician replace it with a 30 amp circuit. Maybe you are lucky and find it's a 30 amp circuit there you can safely run 3 S9's. Rule of thumb is to only load a circuit to 80% of it's amps rating.

Whatever you decide to do will involve buying a PDU- you will size it to the circuit and voltage. This is important so pay close attention when looking for them, generally there are plenty available on ebay used. from here it is all about cord ends and making sure you identify your plugs both male and female ends. Make sure you read up on the PDU to see how many amps each socket will put out and how many each side of the PDU can put out. I say this as some PDU's only do say 5 amps for example at each socket or only do 12 total on a side so you need to space them out when you plug them in. Some of this will make more sense when you start to research them.

The PDU might come with it's own cord but you will likely have to order one to fit your socket and plug into the PDU so again properly identify them google is great for this.

The next cord you will likely have to buy will run from the PSU to the PDU, shouldn't be hard as you already can see the connection at the PSU, but when you order the PDU you will be able to see the sockets it has available. Using this you can order your other cables.

Good luck; hope what I said makes sense

3819  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: If electricity in my home goes of does it harm my miner? on: March 20, 2018, 01:53:41 AM
Thank you all for your answers! One more question please, i have 3 avalon741. As you know they dont have a power button. If i want to turn them off which is the best way tp do it? Should i turn of first the power supply?

Look at it this way your PSU is your on/off button for the Avalons, in the same way you could push the power button on your PC. There is no shutdown feature to idle in the way you would choose shutdown for your PC. Again this is a feeling I remember having myself when the first time I wanted to shut things down, you eventually get past the small hurdles.

Good luck.
