Only the first picture loads.

Nice to see an amitylabs PSU, I use a couple of their 2450 versions. After re reading your post I assume the cable is detachable.

I had a similar issue the first time I bough a Miner it was an S4+ and had a very similar cable, I wound up getting rid of it, the guy told me he thought I had a PDU.

Long story short you can buy a cable just like the one you have but with a different end on it depending on the type of circuit you are trying to run off of.

Is it a 220V 20 amp circuit or 30 amp circuit?

If I am wrong about the cable being detachable from the PSU you can also cut the end off your cable and rewire the plug with the right one, if you are comfortable doing that.

That happened to me a couple weeks ago, just send support an email and they take care of it quickly. I think I emailed them and then it moved an hour later or something like that.
4023  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: 2880 Server PSU questions on: December 20, 2017, 07:59:27 PM
can you post a picture of your PSU, and the slot where the power cables connect. They might be set up for using with a PDU but I can't be sure. Have you tried reaching out to the seller for some info about how they ran the PSU?

Thank you very much and Merry Christmas. Glad you added that 3rd prize and I could get a laugh out of you.
4025  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon 8 official specs released on: December 19, 2017, 11:30:08 PM
I'm guessing/hoping these might be the same as the 741 in terms of what you'll get for Hashrate, with any luck 11 will mean 11.5 or more.

Either way I'm pretty excited and glad to see at least for the time being there are no integrated PSU's.

Huge bonus here is that they are using the same AUC3 set up and cables so if you have spares from your 741's or need to get your hands on some for the EOL 741's they'll be available.

Can't wait to get an order in

Tracking information sent via email.
4028  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon A7 announced on: December 19, 2017, 05:31:23 PM
Does anyone know if these A8 can comingle on the same controller as A741 or do they need their own?
The only difference between these miners appears to be the number of chips on each hash board.
(With exception of the A8 integrated power supply)

I don't believe the A8 model has an integrated power supply.  The last Chinese-only version of the A7 apparently did, but I don't see the same verbiage in the description of the A8.  Feel free to correct me.

You are correct. I think it was a copy paste issue from when they put up the 761, and bare bones description of the A8 information.

So don't go selling those power supplies yet

Here's the thing I got no skin in this game. You said you were going to do a demo, and have not. I don't really care, I just want anyone who was thinking of ordering the product to have all the info or lack thereof.

Me like everyone else are just confused by this "demo" where you can't show the product. Either way if this is real maybe dragonmint will do a better job in their product rollout.

Like haggs said, it's just better for Canaan.

Opened transaction with Steamtyme as well .  First half of payment sent and confirmed, second half will be sent on receipt of goods.

Or I'll make fun of them here if I get ripped off.

Haha I love it. Feel free to make fun of me anyways.
Thank you for the prompt payment last night. I am just waking up, night shift. I will get them in the mail tomorrow, I still have to pack all the parts for you.

I will post tracking information here and send it directly to you.

Thanks again.

Hey promojo,

So just to help settle this for the community, I live less than 2 hours away and will cruise into Winnipeg to take a legit picture with the unit. Or if that's not allowed, look at it confirm it works and then hit the road and get out of your life.

Where abouts in the city are you? Do you have anyone in the cryptonutz community that can vouch for you? I'm sure Kevin would clear a spot in his bench for an hour so you could clear things up.

Let me know

Not sure what sort of response you received, but if you would consider a full member; I would be interested. Feel free to review my posts and activity and PM me if you are interested.
I would be looking for .003 BTC per week, for Sig and Avatar.

Maybe I'm missing something but when I check here it looks like difficulty is going to drop. Either way difficulty is going to swing up and down, with a fairly steady trend upwards which has been more than matched in price.

I don't normally track this because I've come to accept there's nothing I can do. For opinion sake, which one do people tend to trust?

Hi Yahoo,

First cool idea, thanks for the generosity you will make someones Christmas/new years. As for myself I already took care of the kiddos and the Wifey as far as presents go, but we do have a new Boston Pizza in town so we will go there for a nice meal. The things I will do with the rest will help you understand a little about myself.  Firstly considering the price now ( wow by the way) I will buy 11 sheets of drywall and putty compound, lol; a bottle of Bourbon, maybe even some of the regular priced stuff I'm thinking knob creek mmmm. To top it off a small bag of something green, fun and relaxing. Now for the why.

I bought a century home last year, because my wife wasn't enjoying the renting a farmhouse in the middle of nowhere, go figure. Upon taking possession my insurance company informed me I had to change out all ungrounded wiring, Yay. So I taught myself electrical and got to it, then I found out my walls were 2 layers of lathe and plaster, I expected 1, so booooo. Realizing I know had to open all the walls on my second floor I got to the demoing, and insulating; not a real surprise but my walls had nothing, and in my part of Canada that's not going to fly. So last week I finished getting all the insulation in place and am installing all the upgraded and to code wiring, ( my local wasn't cool with just upgrading had to bring it up to code, yay) I'm ready for #1 on my spend list. This Christmas I'm working nights so, after gifts my wife and kids are headed to her folks, so after shift I will get to number 2 and 3 while playing some games; to unwind after my 1st of 3 rooms are complete.

Oh almost forgot, I will adjust number 2 and 3 to buy some headlights, cops noticed one burnt out and have given me 14 days to replace it.

In short you may have noticed when something comes up I will teach myself how to do it through research and then I will get it done. While I will gripe about my home, I might not have gotten into mining if not for the new build garage that came with it pre-wired for a bunch of welders, or miners once I was done with the outlets.

Thanks again and Merry Christmas to everyone, Stay safe out there.

4036  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: 1st Post - Newb trying to understand miner devices correctly on: December 18, 2017, 05:24:37 AM
Depending on what you chose to use for your miners, I would make the circuit a 30 amp circuit and look into getting a PDU, this is a Power distribution unit that allows you to plug more than 1 PSU into it and effectively distribute the power. Once you've looked into what hardware you want to buy, come back and the forum can help break down what you need step by step. I grabbed my PDU of ebay, for 50 bucks.

Also make sure you have a plan to remove heat from the space you will be using, these units essentially convert all power into heat..

Good luck

This from the dragonmint telegram group.

I asked about the review and he told me not to bug him (promojo aka Jordan)

But this is about lot of people's money, who have done the order and who will do the order in future.

I think bringing up the review online would be very important at this point.

Nice, I like that no one is letting this guy off the hook. I am checking in with the Winnipeg Crypto group to see if anyone knows him or anything about why he would be doing the review, I'm only 2 hours away and would travel to see the unit physically operating.

but, I think it will dissapear in a cloud of snow.

The whole 21 days before shipping using paypal reeks of scam.

Definitely because that is the timeframe that Paypal waits before releasing the money to a new account.

Just order your cards from a tried and true source.

Idk how it will turn to be with this guys, just testing for now, but one thing:
I'm sick of these 'tried and true sources' they are everything other than 'true', they play dirty games with us whenever they can. They sell gpus for far higher than the official prices and do not care about anything other than their very short term interests. So, IF this is not a scam and needs some space , why shouldn't we give'm a chance?

Feel free to gamble with your money, but I can find these in Canada from legitimate retailers where I do not have to worry about it never arriving and my money disappearing. I hope it works out for you, but everything from the website to the 21 days to ship if you use Paypal tells me to stay away. So be sick all you want; I won't be sick with worry if about whether or not I am going to lose money.

If you are planning on using GPU's to mine you are best to look in the alt coin section.

You need an Asic machine for BTC. On that note decide what you want to mine and post in the appropriate section.

Having free Electricity makes mining profitable for you, once your initial hardware is paid off it will be all profit.
