441  Other / Meta / Re: newbie topic starter on: July 09, 2019, 11:51:42 PM
Most of the accounts mentioned in the OP are probably trying their best to earn merit and they must have thought the best way is to create some topics instead of commenting on spam threads.
That is the usual case around the forum these days.

Have a stupid suggestion? > Start a thread
Want to get merits by licking some reputed members ass? > Start a thread
Learned how to display merit data in graphs by online tutorials? > Start a thread
Collected some old data from the forum and put it all together as a "helpful" post? > Start a thread.
Found two alt accounts? Start a thread.

I still see undeserving members ranking up due to such low bar we have set to ourselves for distributing merits.
442  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Livecoin.net Scam on: July 09, 2019, 11:38:51 PM
Yes, that's exactly right. Because you know why? I don't consider 1 complaint by 1 user a good enough reason to trash an exchange of Livecoin's magnitude, longevity, and standing.
According to that logic, if someone finds a cockroach in a KFC bowl you'd not hesitate to eat at the same place just because "it's 1 complaint by 1 user"? Interesting point of view.

It all starts with one user and should be rectified at this stage before thousands are victims to it. Most of the scummy exchanges as we have seen in the past started showing signs of scams by targetting only selective users.
443  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 Cricket World Cup - Discussion & Analysis on: July 09, 2019, 11:34:48 PM
The rain has played a huge part in this World Cup and it continues to do so but lucky this time the ICC have a reserve day in case of rain so hopefully we will get a result from this semi-final. The rain came at a bad time for New Zealand as they just started to get going after a slow start to the match, it will be interesting to see what happens on Wednesday as New Zealand need at least another 50+ runs to set a decent sized target for India to chase. If the rain sticks around it could make things very interesting.
50+ is not a decent size score for a team who's players scored 2 100's one after other in the last matches. I don't religiously follow cricket but keep a keen interest in the World Cup games. It's an easy target for any team to achieve.

India vs England final

True.

England will win it.
And who the fuck you are to decide that? Jesus Christ? There's a difference between predicting and illogical conclusion.
444  Economy / Gambling / Re: Looking to license Dice, Crash and other Crypto styled games on: July 09, 2019, 11:27:41 PM
A gambling license is a joke. It is as good as the concept of democracy in Sudan. Every reputed gambling service on this forum is trustworthy because of the way they function and their reputation, not because of their gambling license provider. A developer selling the game to the operator or you selling it to them wouldn't make any difference. As a developer, I prefer selling the games I've developed to the operator directly.
445  Economy / Services / Re: [WTB] Beta-Reader For Bitcoin Book on: July 09, 2019, 01:12:52 AM
I can take the reading task. I'm in the process of publishing my thesis on a topic regarding blockchain so I've done thorough research in the subject and have written paper for the same. Send me a PM if you need proofs and stuff.
446  Economy / Services / Re: AUTO BUMP YOUR THREAD on: July 08, 2019, 11:51:52 PM
keep spamming on this forum ma friend  Kiss
you think spam? why
Anyone taking your deal is most likely to get banned if they bump their thread multiple times in a day. According to the forum rules, you're only allowed to bump your thread once in 24 hours provided the previous bumps are deleted. If I see a thread on top of the pages with no content from other contributors, I can easily make out when it was last edited and thus, reporting it becomes easy.

Also, someone was giving such bot for free on the forum a few months back which actually followed forum's rules.
i know its should 24 hours but should we delete our previous bump???
Not officially but it's encouraged to do that. Check rules here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=703657.0 I've reported several threads with more than one "bump" in their thread and the unwanted bumps were deleted so yes, consider it as a rule.

448  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain Supply Chain, how does it work? on: July 08, 2019, 11:37:15 PM
I need a system that would verify the user, so that way if an item is stolen I will know who actually took the item out. I was thinking I could have a lockbox with the key to the piece of equipment and a unique RFID code for the employee to open the box, that way I know who has the key.
Did you try googling it? There are plenty of white-paper and scholar articles on the topic. The system you're planning is already implemented in a much more sophisticated manner by a number of logistics and premium trade companies. RFID, GPS, Sensors, and Internet of Things are some of the concepts surrounding the implementation. However, no blockchain specific implementation is commercially developed yet. You can mix blockchain with any of the paradigms mentioned above and deploy as smart contracts for transparency.
449  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Books on: July 08, 2019, 11:33:03 PM
Why didn't you include Satoshi's original Whitepaper? That is the best "Bitcoin Book" I believe. For anyone wanting to get into the technical side of bitcoin, reading the white-paper is a good way to start. It may look daunting and all complicated in the beginning but you'll get a basic idea of what you're getting involved into.
450  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: RexCoin - SCAM - Drug dealers as team members on: July 08, 2019, 11:25:42 PM
Can you please explain to me the process of linking those accounts to drug dealers? Because I'm sure simple google search won't do the job. I literally spat food out of my mouth after reading the above replies. A rapist in India vouching for an ICO? That's something new lol
451  Economy / Gambling / Re: LETSPLAYBITS.COM on: July 08, 2019, 11:12:58 PM
we are Czech enthusiasts who want to propagate bitcoin and its use among the players. This is our first project and might really not seemed to be shiny, but simplicity was a key factor during the creation.
Simplicity was the key factor and not compromising on the important aspects of web design. Have you checked your competitors? What makes you think you have any chance of competing against them? You simply can't. Work on the design, work on the product, do a proper study of the gambling market around and plan your service accordingly.
452  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: BitcoinBox beta version [ NEED SOME REVIEWS ] on: July 08, 2019, 10:59:10 PM
I don't understand why members start bashing projects or demotivating developers instead of constructive criticism? He's put in efforts to write some code and maybe the service is not upto the standards but let's not convince the developer it has failed.

@OP: Good project. You should always check your competitors before planning to develop a commercial app. Also, hobby apps shouldn't be released as commercial applications.
453  Economy / Reputation / Re: Known Alts of any-one - A User Generated List Mk III (2019 Q3) on: July 08, 2019, 10:52:36 PM
Can you describe what you mean by “subpar thread creation”?
Creating threads which collect data from random places on the forum and put in one place to earn some merits. Examples of such threads started by the account and their apparent alts

Check these threads and compare the threads started by the alt account in question. You will find similarities.

Send me a message. I can create a node bot like that.
455  Economy / Gambling / Re: LETSPLAYBITS.COM on: July 07, 2019, 11:48:15 PM
The website is barely in a condition to be launched to a commercial audience. Looks like a HTML/CSS project of someone who's learning those technologies for the first time. Your material UI theme is scattered all over the place. I wouldn't trust such a site with 1 satoshi. I could imagine how terrible will be your backend.
456  Economy / Reputation / Re: Known Alts of any-one - A User Generated List Mk III (2019 Q3) on: July 07, 2019, 11:44:50 PM
--snip--
Yes, there are no concrete examples except the technique used by the said accounts to earn merits that is start a subpar thread which should come off as helpful and earn merits. I need to check the addresses and transactions linked. I'll, either way, find a common medium used by all accounts.
457  Other / Meta / Re: leet on: July 07, 2019, 11:13:13 PM
One of my favorite firearm forums I've been a member for 14 years, and my post count is still under 1000.
Obviously, because those forums wouldn't be paying for writing posts. As disappointing as it may sound but that's the fact, we all wouldn't be giving our times to the forum if not for earning money from the signature campaigns. There will be very few people who'd actually contribute regardless of the signature.
458  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Dedicating my Life to Bitcoin and Looking to Help Different Projects on: July 07, 2019, 09:56:46 PM
Well, I'd suggest you to start contributing to the Bitcoin Core. It isn't easy and certainly needs a high level of coding skills but you'd learn more in that than helping someone like the above post "Become a manager of my discord chat". The money will come with time and there is no harm in taking small projects but keep learning as your priority. Bitcoin Core is just an example you can pick up any open-source project for instance and dedicate some amount of your time for the betterment of the community.
459  Economy / Reputation / Re: Known Alts of any-one - A User Generated List Mk III (2019 Q3) on: July 07, 2019, 09:13:00 PM
If someone has enough time on their hands, I might have an interesting case here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5135934.0 This user seems to have multiple accounts which use the same " Subpar Thread Creation" way to get merits and rank the accounts. As you can see in my post, I connected him with an user using the same merit earning tactic having a similar username. OP of that thread never responded to me and locked the thread. I think this could be a big alt and merit sharing ring. I will investigate when I have enough time but just in case, dropping it here.
460  Other / Meta / Re: The new (maybe not so new) spammy trend. on: July 07, 2019, 09:04:05 PM
So, what can we do?
Selectively enforce strict rules. One of such might be, target the boards that have scope for such threads. Gambling section would be a nice place to start with. Maybe a script that checks the last active date of the topic creator and if it's more than 3 months, the topic is automatically locked. Mainboards like Mining or Technical Discussion can be free from such restrictions since newbies don't really spam there. This is just an example but a more conditional auto-locking algo will do the job.
