441  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 02, 2023, 07:33:22 PM
Lakers is considered to be a dark horse as well, if I'm not mistaken, of course some of the core is back but still, a ageing Lebron and then injury prone AD? Still not sure how far the Lakers can go in this season.

No matter what happens to them in the Lakers this season, they have already done their job and won the championship because that's just all that it matters when you are with the Superteam trying to be a contender in the NBA league. It will be more amazing when they can get back to the NBA playoffs this season because they easily made a great run last season and also beat the defending champion easily. The worse thing they did was signed Westbrook despite having multiple stars that can help them with the championship again last season.

But some fans are saying that what they did was not enough because the last time they won the championship was in the middle of Covid pandemic where they had in-house games with a lot of rules to prevent Covid-19 from entering the league, moreover, at that time, NBA was still at an experimenting phase and not all players did play just like the usual season. Anyway, people have been divided when it comes to the topic, but yes, a win is a win and nobody can take that from them.
Different times though, but during that time the Lakers is a different team, both Lebron and Davis really wanted to proved something and so they go and win one for the Lakers. But after that it seems that they have experienced the curse of defending it as they are not the same team after their champions. And then some of there players left or being traded. And then we can saw that getting WB really put a dent on the team. So for me it's good that they are considered as a dark horse so that they can proved something against their critics and detractors (barring injuries from Davis and Lebron).

Indeed, that line-up they had way back when they won a championship title was very different. They've got a height and experience advantage which gave the whole league some difficulty, and AD and Lebron was a bit younger in those days plus they've had Dwight Howard, Rondo and Alex Caruso who was truly helpful to the team's defensive line.
And talking about the Lakers being a dark horse in the upcoming season is just a bit sad for me though because they just got that name in the time where WB is not on the equation.
442  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Terrence Crawford vs Errol Spence - July 29 on: August 02, 2023, 06:47:05 PM
^^ Yes, I do agree that either of the Charlo brothers are not going back to 154 lbs and Spence is going up in weight. So obviously one of them is already at 168 lbs fighting Canelo so the other one is going to 160 lbs. Actually they can switch back from and to between middleweight and super middleweight.

Yeah, Perhaps the biggest that Crawford is 154 lbs, that will be enough for him. He will be a smaller 160 pounder. But I think Spence can go as high as 160 lbs, but with the Charlo brothers occupying that, I doubt that he will go there until they go up in weight as high as 175 lbs but that will be too much for either of the Charlos.

Let's see it first if what will be the camp of Spence do in the upcoming weeks because after he fought Crawford and lost, he was given 30 days to think and decide whether he will activate a rematch or not as that was written on their contract before they have agreed to an undisputed fight. Current rumor is that Spence wants a fight at 154 while Crawford seems inclined to it as well but with under one condition, he will be on the A-side as he earned it and by his words, a rematch will not happen if the purse is not 50/50 or 60/40 in his favor.
443  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to grow the bitcoin you have? on: August 01, 2023, 09:56:44 PM
Everything that you do when it comes to bitcoin may always involve risk. Except if you got a job and get paid with bitcoin, well there’s no risk in it. But if you decide to accumulate bitcoin and invest it for long term, well risk is already there. However, as long as you hold your bitcoin for long term and only sell it when there are possible profits, you can always grow your bitcoin by buying back again from your profits when the market is facing a bearish market. That way, you can maximize your bitcoin purchase when their prices are cheap and affordable.
444  Economy / Economics / Re: Things you should know about Money mindset on: August 01, 2023, 09:34:21 PM
Yes, there are a lot of opportunities to earn money, but our mindset and perspective drive us whether we will jump in and take a risk for more opportunities or just keep staying in our comfort zones and be contented with what we already have.
It depends on the wishes of everyone who still intends to make money in his life, because until now there are still people who consider their comfort zone more satisfied with what they already have so they no longer want to take risks on other opportunities. Even though every opportunity that exists is an opportunity for him to continue to get a better income even though he has to go through obstacles such as risk, but that will not be a big problem for those who still really want to fight in an opportunity to achieve better results.
If you are still in the same position for over a long period of time, then probably staying in your comfort zone is not a good option. You should start seeing yourself out of the context if it’s the only way your life will take a big break especially when it comes to financial stability and security.

Opportunities to earn money is always there. But the problem is not everyone is given the equal opportunity that other gets that’s why even if it means taking some risk to create a breakthrough in your life, then do it as long as you stay focused on your goal.
445  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My easy way to teach your kids bitcoin. on: August 01, 2023, 08:34:54 PM
Regardless of any strategy to teach your kids about bitcoin, and make them attractive as it is, I guess it’s still not worthy doing knowing their main concern is still focus on playing and not to understand and get insights how bitcoin works and how it can be profitable. For me, making them aware about bitcoin at an early age is not bad, what makes it bad is to force them to learn about bitcoin when their minds are not yet capable to understand its broad topic.
446  Economy / Economics / Re: What are some financial secrets that you know of? on: July 31, 2023, 09:57:08 PM
Hey everyone. What are some of your wealth secrets that you could share with us?

Buying homes with cash and taking loans out on it?

Setting up trust funds in foreign countries and setting offshore corporations to avoid capital gains and taxation? (Sorry tax avoidance for any LEO reading this)

What are your secrets?
Know when to spend and know when not to. Even rich people are still doing that because they value more their money than their expenses. And if you have spare money to invest, then do it now. There’s no other perfect timing to invest especially in bitcoin than to learn it now and eventually learn to invest in it. But as a reminder, invest but never expect profits all the time. Investment never guarantees secured profits, so you should invest at your own risk.
447  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is copy trading a viable option for newcomers? on: July 31, 2023, 09:34:48 PM
Copy trading has gained immense popularity in the crypto industry since its introduction. Bitget, being one of the pioneers in this field, remains one of the largest platforms for copy trading cryptocurrencies. Many consider it an appealing choice for beginners, but is it truly effective for those who are new to trading?
In my personal opinion, I would say it’s not. It will only destruct their focus from learning trading on their own and the possible learnings that they can get from their personal trading experience. While it works for others, but I don’t see it’s a great idea to copy trade when you are not sure exactly if those you copy trade are the products of a professional and profitable trader. Maybe this is one of the reasons why beginners never stop from failing, because they always chose to follow shortcuts when they know trading in the first place is certainly hard and even risky.
448  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Beginners, you don't need Bitcoin first on: July 31, 2023, 09:09:38 PM
While you can earn bitcoin with your large amount of money, but the problem is how can you sustain owning it with its unpredictable and changeable price that anytime it will reach its lowest price and you’ll end up seeing yourself in panic wishing you did not invest in the first place because you will only lose in the end.

However, if you have a job and do investing as your side hustle, then regardless if you suffer from losses which I think part of investing, you will never totally experience the stress and all its difficulties because you still have your job to count on, even if your investment is not working in progress.
449  Economy / Economics / Re: Reason why you will never become rich on: July 31, 2023, 08:43:37 PM
The way people spend for luxury and trying to achieve expensive lifestyle even if they don’t have enough means to, that’s exactly the reason why they don’t prosper and become rich. It’s like that some of us live their life to impress others and take an edge over unfortunate ones, not realizing that staying in that mindset will only pull them away from their goal of being rich. While others are busing spending and trying to flaunt all their expenses, wise men prefer to do it secretly and when they finally achieved their dream to be rich, that’s the time they will start to get out from their box and show everyone how far they achieved in life.
450  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Terrence Crawford vs Errol Spence - July 29 on: July 28, 2023, 06:35:48 PM
maybe by decision or perhaps this fight will go over and last the full 12 rounds.

This fight could last for 12 rounds if both boxers can absorb the punches thrown at them. They are not the kind of fighters who are slick enough; they always want to exchange punches. Since both are strong punchers, honestly, I doubt it will go to the judges' scorecards.

With only a few days remaining, I just want to be optimistic that Crawford will win, as I believe he is the better boxer. Terrence may have more belts, but Crawford's wins have been very dominant and convincing. Let's see if Crawford will live up to our expectations.

But knowing the magnitude of this fight, for sure they will play defense and could be hesitant to throw punches early. And as you have said, they are slick so they have their hands on their chin always and their ego will say that they don't want to lost and then got knockout as well.

You mean Spence might have 3 belts? but Crawford is the complete fighter, although the smaller one, but for me his IQ is just above everyone else at 147 lbs and it might play a big role if this fight goes to distance.

Errol Spence may have 3 belts in his possession but certainly that doesn't mean that he is more superior or dominant than Terence Crawford that is yet to be answered this Saturday. Also because of his actions in the past years says different because it's somehow clear that he is ducking the latter and afraid to take the call then proceeds to wait the latter until to be much older. Just like what Mayweather did against Pacquiao at that time.

451  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 28, 2023, 05:11:15 PM
Now the question will pop out. Will this affect the future of Bronny, especially in a long-term position? Sure he has his father to back him up to be signed in teams where he has power but there will be doubts after this.

In terms of which team would sign him, I'm sure they'll consider the implications and take measures to protect their investment. So, there's nothing to worry about on their side. I'm more concerned about Bronny being able to play in the NBA, as it has always been his father's dream to play with his son.

Well, hopefully what happen is not a hindrance to his goal in the NBA.

Bronny James still have some time to recover and be in his best fit as possible knowing that his father, LeBron James, will do everything just to make their dreams into reality by hiring the best team to surround his son just to make him play as soon as possible. It could be a few couple of months before he can play again in the court with the USC Trojans but I doubt that what happened to him recently will affect his future towards the 2024 NBA Draft.
452  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Abuse ... on: July 27, 2023, 04:03:19 PM
I think it's not about abuse, but not knowing what it could do to you in the long term is the problem. Imagine, it's you who is being abused, not gambling. Gambling must be controlled, and your urge to gamble should be managed. It's weird to use "abuse" with "gambling" because it's not being used as something to be abused.

The sad thing about that is that people already know and have the knowledge for what is coming towards them if they chose to walk down that path without any precautions with them yet they still do it anyway with the hopes that they could bring a massive amount in their lifetime by gambling, but in the end, they found their own selves in the exact opposite situation because they fail to set boundaries before starting. By that time, they are already one of the addicted gamblers even if they themselves don't want to be in that position.
453  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is not a steady income haven on: July 27, 2023, 03:02:42 PM
Whether you are rich it poor like some persons used to say that they are gambling for the fun. We all need more money whether you have enough to spend or not. We can see that the rich people are spending more money on gambling because they have enough and they wants to earn more too. Gambling is one of the easiest ways we can make money without having a skill or having to go to school and acquire certificate. Once you know how to gamble and you have a favorite game you can play that can give you income, then you are good to go.

Still not a good way to depend into because gambling is just like a coin, in some days you are in the upper side while in some days you are on your downside. I get it that there are professional gamblers out there who literally make gamble as a living but I seriously don't believe even an inch that they don't have anything on the sides who will give them additional income in case they will have a bad day or week because being a professional gambler doesn't mean that they are exempted from having upsets.
454  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title on: July 27, 2023, 02:02:07 PM
Well, Tapales has the chance, but I doubt he will be able to dethrone Inoue. Regardless, however, this is the fight of his life. This is already a huge achievement for him. To be given the chance to face Naoya and, more importantly, to become the unified champion, is a big opportunity he couldn't afford to miss. He should be giving his all not just during the fight but even during the training. Defeating Naoya and unifying the belts mean a lot.

Agree, this is a tough one for our compatriot but the fight itself is already a win for Tapales as seldom a Filipino boxer will be on this kind of stage, biggest fight of his life and for sure the biggest payday as of date. The good thing about Filipino boxers when up against the world and nobody expected him to win, it will give them the motivation and often they rise to the occasion and shock the whole world when the final bell rung.

Well, we can only hope so.

Yeah, I agree that we seem to take motivation from being the underdog and when nobody is expecting anything from us. It's like a huge amount of baggage is taken off if we have nothing to lose or if we're going against the world.

Anyway, it's probably expected that this fight will be held in Japan. Naoya very seldom fights outside of his home country. But Tapales isn't a stranger to fighting in Japan and against Japanese fighters. If I'm not mistaken, Naoya is his 5th Japanese opponent and this is also his 5th time fighting there. So it's probably not a huge factor for him to once again fight against a Japanese opponent in his home court.

And just like how Tapales beat Akhmadaliev in his own game, maybe there will be a small chance for Tapales to upset the Japanese. It's going to be a long shot, but who knows, when we least expected that someone is going to lose in a fight, suddenly, he doesn't have any pressure on his side and just play and fight as if nothing to lose.

I agree that it will definitely be in Japan again, but being Asian, I think Tapales will have no problem in Japan. And as you have said, he is used to fighting in their backyard so it will not be a disadvantage for him.

Yup, it's not right to underestimate the Filipino boxer here because he too have something that the other boxers doesn't have as he is now the new 2-belt champion at 122. It wasn't that easy either to fight and upset Akhmadaliev, but he did it. So let's just wait and see how would he perform against the one and only Naoya Inoue, we sure never know what's coming as the most underestimated ones tend to have more chances in the actual fight.
455  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are successful gamblers seen as addicts? on: July 26, 2023, 06:26:47 PM
But those who become successful gamblers are not addicted to gambling because success means they can have more abilities than most gamblers.
yes, those who are successful should have better skills than others. but I believe they also spend more time and also more bets in the casino to play.
this process may show that gamblers will become addicted or that they will become well-controlled gamblers. Good gamblers know when they should place a bet and when they should leave the game.

There is a fine line that separates these professional gamblers and just an addicted gambler, some will say of course that these professional gamblers doesn't have much difference compared to the addicts because they too are giving too much time and focus towards gambling but in the long run, we can really see what is the difference because addicted gamblers fail to weigh the things more clearly while professional gamblers do know what they are doing as that is why they are called like that in the first place.

I share your sentiment. Yes, 12 long rounds is possible but if these two will confront each other in a toe-to-toe fight to see who will survive then I guess we won't be seeing the 12th round as there is a big chance that one of them will give up as their body cannot handle it anymore. They might be strong and have the ability to absorb strong punches, but let's not forget that abilities like that has a limit.

Also, I seriously doubt that Errol Spence Jr. were able to possess those three belts because if he chose to accept Crawford's invitation, by now, we already have the answers. But he didn't because he knew that his chances are much slimmer if he fought Crawford in the past years and chose to follow Mayweather's guidebook instead.
457  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 26, 2023, 03:39:20 PM
[....]
Given that he isn’t the most talented player in the league, I suspect the next couple of years are going to have some contracts that will begin to rival global soccer stars.
I doubt that but maybe it will happen if oil money enters the NBA. French football star Kylian Mbappe has been recently offered by a Saudi team with an annual salary of $221M and that could rise to $774M according to reports so compare that to the $304M 5-year deal. I read that even Lebron and Draymond jokes about moving to Saudi after that news.

I don't expect salaries of top paid footballers in Europe to stagnate given the sponsors their league and team gets. It will only go higher in the next couple of years.

Yes mate, it's not really possible because NBA is not sponsored by any petrostate/country and which mean that NBA and its franchises will literally have a hard time if they are going to compete with how football league works, specially Saudi Professional League as they were the ones who can afford to give such contracts to any known football stars.

I'll give a rough comparison; Kylian Mbappe was offered by Al-Hilal with a 1-year deal worth a staggering $776 Million while our very own LeBron James just earned a total of $531 Million in his whole basketball career.
458  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Things that influence our trading decisions on: July 25, 2023, 09:57:37 PM
Not just in trading but in all aspects of life, our emotions leave a strong impact on our daily life’s decisions. That’s the reason why we have to evaluate and assess our emotions carefully especially in trading where emotions become a great enemy to be successful in trading. If we can’t control it, which I think is certainly hard, then let’s just trade focusing on our set goals with high determination so that trading will still be more profitable and successful in the end.

460  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you think selling your property is better than taking loan? on: July 25, 2023, 08:59:23 PM
Firstly, washing machine and fridge aren't included in the property.
Electronic goods aren't cashable well enough in an emergency situation, Or if you do have to sell it, it will be priced very low especially by random buyers who are ignorant of your situation. Borrowing is better with the intention that you'll also sell your goods asap to pay off the loan. However, avoiding loans and debt is the average person's top choice.
Both seems are not the best options to take but will definitely push you into worsening the situation in the future. So I will never encourage anyone to take any of this. But if you think you have a stable source of income that will pay your debt, then prefer taking a loan but pay it directly when you get your salary so that it’s interest will somehow be reduced.
