What further investigation is needed?
Only theymos, and cyrus know the exact methods used. However, they probably look at the account activity, and see if everything matches up. For example, if the credentials have changed before that could indicate a few things. cyrus in the past has stated that its not easy, and the investigation can take a lot of time up. |

Not many are reporting, I do if a few times a day on small portions but.. I wish I had more free time.
That's fine. I'm not really expecting users to dedicate their time to reporting. However, I can without a doubt say that there isn't enough reporters at least my jurisdiction to deal with the spam. |

Most of the cases, they replied very soon. theymos is replying to the other post. I have just seen the reply of theymos.I dont know, why is he not replying to your post/in your thread. We can't do anything, Only wait, wait and wait  Yep, all my dealings with both theymos, and cyrus have all be responded within 24 hours. I've probably interacted with theymos a little more than cyrus, but its always been within 24 hours. This obviously wasn't regarding account recovery though which require a investigation which is likely while there's currently a backlog. |

I also work full time, and have several projects on the side. But, I don't know why I just have some sort of passion for the forum. Probably, because I've been part of it for a while. Reporting has effected a few of my projects too, and I know that not everyone is willing to make that sacrifice, and that's okay.

Yeah, I agree its a fairly optimistic approach, but I know from personal experience that we've combated a few projects using malicious ways to spam their threads, and we've come up on top. Now, the only thing that we haven't been able to do is continue this thread wide, and do it to every announcement thread. I'm not sure how we are suppose to get more people to report. I've made a resource as you know which I hope has helped, but probably hasn't. I'll continue to encourage users to report, and I guess that's all we can do. I don't know how rare it is for someone to just sit down, and dedicate their time to reporting without any benefit, but I'm sure there's a few others that would be willing to do this. They might not be part of the forum right now, but join at a later date. This is exactly why I will continue to encourage it. This has to change. I think it was different back in the day but I'm rather new here I don't really know.
I don't think there's a awful lot that has changed. I just think it's a little more exaggerated now that there's a lot more users on the forum. |

Thanks. Are you going to add any more patrollers in the future? Honestly I'm a little surprised that there was only a 3 patrollers. I never really looked into it, but just assumed that there would be more. Even if we had 30 patrollers I think theymos would be willing to add more as long as there was a need. Really only he knows that because he has access to the statistics. |

From my experience of reporting personal messages you don't always get a reply. That's fine though because you don't really need confirmation of whether it was wrong or not. You could select a specific moderator to report it to, and ask them for an explanation if you really do care that much. Doesn't mean they'll give it to you though.

I've heard reinforcements are arriving. I think if we could just actively encourage users from all different types of timezones to report it as soon as they see it we can maybe combat the problem a lot more than it is already. Some bump bots have been beaten in certain threads, and there is progress happening.

Well done to all the winners, now just 2 weeks and I think hilarious will start collecting EPL pool entry fee and the EPL pool lasts almost one year so it will be much more fun and with a lot more opportunities for anybody to win.
Plus, I personally prefer club football over internationals as I feel that they are just more enjoyable. Yeah, I must admit I usually like the World Cup, but know nothing about how the teams play, and only know of some of their players. Although, I watch the EPL fairly regularly, and hope that will help me this time around. |

There is one month until the start of EPL season, so I'm sure that we will get some more players. Personally, I'm not expecting to reach top 5 because I'm not following EPL very closely. So, it's just for fun. @hilariousandco, it's sad thay you don't organize prediction pools of La Liga or Champions league Well, lets just say I hope I do a little better than the world cup. I sort of gave up in the end, and went for some outlandish scores. Yeah, that didn't work either. Champions league could be a interesting one, but I'm not sure how popular the La Liga one would be compared to this pool. |
