Will be chucking my predictions in later tonight. I'm fancying tomorrow as there's a few interesting games. What's your guys input on the Chelsea vs Man city game? I'm thinking Chelsea might just get a point even though they've dropped off their form recently. I think Man City struggled a little more than we are used to seeing during the week, and I think a draw is worth a shot to reap some points back :p

Or am I completely crazy, and just desperate at this point?
4602  Other / Meta / Re: Merit source application of Coolcryptovator on: December 07, 2018, 07:23:50 PM
I wouldn't worry about that: it took me 3 months, many endorsements and almost daily bumping to get a (positive) response from theymos.
Yeah, I think its just catching him at the right time. All of my interactions with theymos have been under 24 hours including my application for a merit source. I guess I'm just really good at catching him at the right time.

Has this been listed for sale anywhere else? I could be interested for a little side project over the Christmas period to test out some of my development skills.

Yeah, seems like whatever was on their website infringed some rules of their hosting provider. Not the best advertisement I must admit Cheesy
4605  Other / Meta / Re: Account hacked -- should I blame admins or not? on: December 06, 2018, 03:39:31 PM
My argument is based on the fact an email address was changed without letting the owner confirm it, it can be referred to as unauthorized change of ownership. In this case, everyone's account is at risk, including the admins.

This has never been in place, and by registering on the forum you don't even have to verify the email. If you had a problem with the security of the forum you could've brought it up. Many have, though. The new forum software will likely have some sort of 2fa authentication so there's that. However, no one really knows when that's going to drop.

That being said. Have you got a signed address? If you have you can start the recovery process, and in the mean time get DefaultTrust to tag it so it's basically useless to whoever hacked it.
4606  Other / Meta / Re: [Guide] Reporting effectively on: December 06, 2018, 03:32:13 PM
In those instances just report one of their posts, and make a reference to the others in the comment field. Whoever is handling the report can them make a decision based on what is presented. Sometimes when users leave a comment "already said multiple times in thread" or "repeated reply" or something like that the moderator dealing with it would have to look through the whole thread. Make our job easier by linking to it yourself!
4607  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cloudbet's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: December 06, 2018, 06:27:04 AM
Bit of a shocking night really. Chelsea struggling, and losing. Liverpool struggling, and having a pretty decent comeback after they conceded, but largely they struggled all night to do anything really. Liverpool still 2 points behind City, and increasing the gap between 2nd, and 3rd due to Chelsea losing. Coming up to the Christmas break, and teams do start dropping points because of the congestion. We'll see how Liverpool, and City fare. I think City have enough depth to deal with it, and I think Liverpool haven't been playing their heavy metal football of last season so should deal with it a little better.

Congrats on getting the wooden spoon this round.   Grin

You didn't see nothing Cheesy
4608  Other / Meta / Re: Is this forum boring? on: December 06, 2018, 06:22:14 AM
Think this is expected with the recent price hits. Normally, we get the initial throwing the toys out of the pram, and loads of questions, and panic posts. Then that dies down when these users leave, because "Bitcoin is dead", and we are left with those who are truly into Bitcoin, and don't get too reactionary.

It'll likely be a few quiet months, until there's some major event that influences the price again.
Not really, the forum has comparatively become quiet even before the price plummeted, especially in regions like Reputation and Meta, people just have started to disappear, again.

Gosh, I wish I was more active. We need to spice things up a little, bring some interest in people. Even the tinniest of things like having the Reporter Badges finally done, might sparkle something nice. We would like to know what is going on with the new forum as well, but that's too much to ask, for the price of it was like only a few million bucks and the deadline was due years ago.
I was away for a month so do forgive me if it started to drop off before, but I'm just looking at my reports, and seeing how many I'm actually getting compared to before I went away, and its no where near the amount, and this started to happen right around the price drop. That doesn't prove anything necessarily, because there was only a few users reporting by mass anyway. Just an observation I made.

Well, I missed last nights games, because I forgot once again. However, I remembered about the games tonight! 6 picks out of the lot will be enough Wink Right? Cheesy

Origi has got a starting place tonight instead of Mane who has a stitched up foot which apparently happened towards the end of the Everton game.
4610  Other / Meta / Re: bet365 and bitcointalk accounts on: December 05, 2018, 06:40:15 PM
Correlated to this, I reported a thread on my local board recently of a guy wanting to purchase a bank statement, so that he could manipulate it, and be able to register in betting sites as a resident in the list of authorized countries (I presume he resided in a non-authorized country, and thus wanted to send fake proof of residence). He started offering 10€, and progressively went up to 25€. I don’t know how it ended, but the thread remains and was actually moved to the local Services board.

Should definitely be removed as far as my understanding of the rules go. Was the report handled? It's probably just gone unhandled, and the user moved it themselves.

A decrease in posting activity is actually a positive.

The real enthusiasts will return once the bulk of the new people spam posting icos leave.

Before the next huge uptick for btc I hope we can have some junior discussion boards to contain the next wave.

You don't want lots of posts from lots of new people just pushing their 100 bucks investments in multiple icos hoping for moon shots, you are better off having some good threads where you see a concentration of good posters getting together. It is easier to locate potentially good threads and not have them filled with text spun canned replies when there are not huge waves coming in that are purely financially driven and have no interest in trustless decentralised projects.

I don't see any of the great posters still posting that were here before the end of 2017.

Most real enthusiasts will be here posting regardless of current prices.

Nah, the people posting their scam projects will use the current drop as a advertisement. "Bitcoin is dying invest in X now!". Yeah, I've already seen that. The altcoin section is still going strong, and they are only feeding off this. People will start panicking, and will go into altcoins instead. Several senior members have done this in the past when Bitcoin seemed to be struggling. It was litecoin back then that people flocked too.

There is a decrease in posting activity though, that seems to bring things down a notch recently.

I was at the game with my brother, we started to walk down the steps to leave on 95 mins just as VVD had that crap shot, luckily there was a queue to get out so I saw the goal. It went mental when Origi’s goal went in, for some reason I looked over to the linesman & then the referee because I was worried it’d gone over the bar/line before Pickford touched it.

My ears were ringing as we left.

Fucking brilliant Cheesy
I was literally thinking to myself all game that there's just no way we score unless they mess up so bad, because Liverpool just wasn't clinical enough, and the front three just didn't look like scoring. Then that happened. For some reason I just kept watching all the way through. Where as if its that dire normally I just have it on in the background. Absolutely mental. I don't know what Pickford was thinking. I literally had the same reaction as Van djik. You could see he was frustrated, and I was frustrated that he fluffed it. But, yeah....I don't really know what to say as its just so bizarre.

Midweek game. Should be relatively easy for Liverpool against a struggling Burnley. Burnley are no longer the side to fear when playing them at their home ground.
4614  Other / Meta / Re: Can we restrict user registerations somehow? on: December 04, 2018, 06:25:38 AM
I do not know if it has been suggested in the past, but instead of having email account confirmation, every new user should be able to register a Bitcoin address and send a signature with a unique code received at the time of registration. This address would become a way to recover the account as well.

If he did not do this, the new account would look like "on probation" and would be even more limited than the newbie account. It can be more easily nuke by moderators and not just administrators.

It has been suggested multiple times, although I'm not sure if it has received an official response from theymos or not. I imagine this will be implemented when the automatic account recovery is introduced to the forum.

I don't know whether putting restrictions on accounts which haven't included an address is a good idea though. Not everyone on this forum will have made an address, and might be simply researching into Bitcoin, and asking a few questions. We shouldn't be punishing legitimate users.
4615  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cloudbet's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: December 03, 2018, 10:41:59 AM
Didn't watch this one, but heard all the cheering at the end from some guys who were, I was still wondering for a while who won it, nice to see it was Liverpool. Stats wise it seemed Everton were pressuring Liverpool, gave them 3 yellow cards first before collecting 2 and they had a goal cleared by Liverpool from the line. And almost equal attempts on goal. This is not the same Liverpool at all, Mignolet is a good shot stopper but credit to the brazilian keeper, he and Virgil are keeping the best defense in the league so far. Now if someone can please show Manchester City the bravery at their home turf!

Of course they miss Coutinho. But they are better able to break defences without him it seems.
They struggled to break down PSG's, and Evertons defence. Maybe, not so much Everton I just think the finishing wasn't good enough. If you didn't watch the game, and haven't seen the goals you need to see the bizarre goal pickford let in. I actually lost hope, but Origi never gave up. In fact if you look at Van djik's body language after he volleys he gave up too. It was a bizarre night.
4616  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cloudbet's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: December 02, 2018, 09:32:16 PM
It was a great game! It could have been 3 or even 4 nill. Well deserved win for Liverpool in the end, even though it was one of the craziest endings I've ever seen to a game, haha.
I'm not sure about the 3/4 to naught. Everton had some very close chances, and could of easily won the game. Liverpool attack looked good the first 15 minutes or so, and then Everton started to dominate the midfield, and the front 3 got starved of service. I can't help but think Liverpool are missing Coutinho a little bit.

Alison did well, and I think if it was mignolet in goals for an example Liverpool would of been in a lot of trouble, and could of found themselves down by 2 early on.
4617  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cloudbet's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: November 29, 2018, 07:09:25 PM
Just done my predictions for this weekend, lots of big games again. Two derbies - the North London derby (Arsenal vs Spurs) & the Merseyside derby (LFC vs Everton).

I’m going to Liverpool’s next 3 home gsmes - (Everton, Napoli & Man Utd).

I will be really pissed off if we don’t beat Everton especially after that cuckold performance in Paris last night.

 Angry

Enjoy! I've only had the pleasure of going Anfield once before, and we had fantastic seats! Hopefully, Liverpool will go back to the entertaining performances of last season, but keep on getting results in the premier league like they have this season.
4618  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cloudbet's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: November 27, 2018, 07:49:10 PM
I did think they had a good chance of winning but no, never saw them taking a 3-0 lead. Yes, they are used to Wembley by now but no, it is nothing like having your own personal home ground. The media are all talking about Sarri and the cracks appearing but that's just stupid. Spurs ARE a good team and they are just like Liverpool if you think about it. Able to win against any big team IF they can get their act together.

Super South Korean as ever. But Giroud as usual super sub. If he continues like this he will overtake Defoe in goals scored from bench.
There is no disputing that Spurs are a good team. They have been incredible for the last few seasons, and were looking scary good a while back. I think Spurs have struggled against top opposition in previous seasons so its good to see them starting to get results. For example, I remember when Liverpool always used to beat them by a good margin despite form.
4619  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cloudbet's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: November 26, 2018, 03:45:27 PM
Well, I think that's my best round so far. Hopefully, my luck is beginning to turn. Oh, and I remember to input every round from now on Cheesy Honestly, I saw the Chelsea - Tottenham game as a draw or Chelsea win. So, I'm actually pretty surprised that Tottenham won in the fashion they did.
4620  Other / Meta / Re: The beginner and help section is losing great contributors on: November 26, 2018, 03:41:20 PM
I'm managing to find a few posts to merit, but I'm still well under my target.

There are a couple of threads with all caps titles, and I'm ignoring those. In general, I fnd that capitalisation is a tool used by people who don't have much to say, or don't have any original thoughts.

Although, you might find this annoying there could still be some posts which deserve some merit. Whether that's from the original poster or not. Theymos put out some advice a few years ago about formatting the title correctly which might be a great help to a few of the users around here. I'll see if I can find it.
