581  Other / Meta / Re: Mixers to be banned on: December 01, 2023, 12:11:06 PM
First Chipmixer then the other one (forgot the name) and now Sinbad is going down. I knew they weren't gonna let that shit go. It is official now, you cannot stay anonymous on the internet or anywhere else.

Be glad that you can still own assets, for now.

By 2030, no privacy, no private assets.

having more exchanges that just do BTC->XMR advertised.

XMR's days are also numbered imo
582  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why sports betting? on: November 30, 2023, 02:14:35 PM
Moreover, I like to know if you really believe you can win in sports betting in the long run, or you just really think no chance because every game can be win by luck, sports betting is not exemption.

You can definitely be a winner in the long run if you follow a certain strategy but the big question here, is it worth it?

You need to know everything about the team (and their opponent) you are betting on and having the knowledge isn't enough. You need to know how to make use of that information. You need to spend years to come up with a successful formula but if you work that much you can be successful at any business.

It is probably more rewarding to start your own business instead of focusing on gambling.
583  Other / Archival / Re: Wearing Bitcoin Clothing in Public on: November 29, 2023, 06:02:42 PM
Don't do it. It will gather unnecessary attention on you. Especially criminals might make a target out of you. Even if you don't have big amounts in crypto, you may go through some unpleasant events. The police may also see you differently. There was a story years ago, a dude was wearing a btc hat or smth and the airport police questioned him because of it. Why take a risk like that? You don't need to prove anything to anybody. Be modest.
584  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who says you can't be a millionaire in sports betting? on: November 29, 2023, 01:31:01 PM
People say “you can’t win in the long run”. There is a big difference in saying “you can’t win” and “you can’t win in the long run.” Also you show this betslip like everyone can do it which is not true obviously.

Is it possible to get rich from gambling? Sure it is, if you are lucky like this guy.
Is gambling a job which can create you a reliable income? No it is not.

Lucky people win the lottery too. Does that mean everyone can get rich if they buy a few lottery tickets?
585  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do we need to have a stop loss if we are 100% positive about a trade? on: November 29, 2023, 11:29:45 AM
Definitely not. If you are sure of the asset you are buying, why sell? You just need to buy more when it goes down. The more it falls, the more you buy. Actually in this case it is even better if the asset’s price is dropping because you can buy more for a cheaper price.

Let’s say you are in the real estate business and you have $10 million but no homes. Each house costs a million usd and you can buy 10 houses. After you bought your second home the prices took a nosedive and now each house costs $800k. That means you can buy 10 more houses with the remaining funds if yours ($8 mil).
586  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Authorities Are Not Smart Enough to Do This on: November 28, 2023, 03:48:49 PM
Bitcoin doesn't care either way. The authorities might ban bitcoin completely and btc will still find a way to survive. Not on a corporate level however p2p transactions can't be banned completely.  I don't agree with your other points where you think bitcoin is the solution to your country's problems. Yes printing FIAT out of thin air is a big problem but switching to bitcoin won't solve the problems automatically. People should change first. Unless people stop being greedy and stupid, bitcoin can't help countries. Building a better education system is a great start.
587  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Not this guy on: November 28, 2023, 02:17:35 PM
There is some certain amount of money that you will lose and you will be so pissed and probably quit, but not this guy.
I've been talking a lot about how people should learn to be a responsible gambler but there is a crazy gambler that I just meet, from a friends friend, the crazy thing about this person is how about how much he has lost in gambling, enough to go south in the ear of others and he has never made any big gains to cover what he has lost, the crazy part is...
This guy is giving me a weird vibe, like a different gambling breed, he knows he have the gambling addiction problem but he just doesn't care, like for real, he doesn't care, the amount he has lost is in six figures but very weird how he is able to handle it.
Some gamblers are different breed to be honest, they don't care about what their present situation is, if they are breathing they are good, anyone know crazy gambler who don't care if they lose big amount of money and they still gamble?
I've get to know that not all gamblers need to be a responsible gambler, some knows, they are not hypnotized by gambling, they are fully awake and they still choose to be a reckless gambler.

You can't know what is really going on in his head. People you mentioned sometimes do something very extraordinary when other people least expect it. Everything looks and sounds OK on the outside but one day, they wake up from the bed and... something ugly happens. (I'll leave this part to your imagination)

It might me that they don't really give a damn about the money they lost. That happens too. Especially if their parents are alive. These people know that their ass is covered no matter what they do.

Either way, it is their life and you shouldn't think too much about it. You should focus on yours.
588  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling are mainly for rich and lucky mind. on: November 28, 2023, 02:11:06 PM
It is obvious that no good thing that come easy and when you are not lucky in gambling you are not lucky and a lucky person in everything he tries might still be a lucky person on gambling because i dont see what you know you do consistently and is not favourable to you yet you are still in it, that is stupidity to a reasonable man and even if your taking it to be for funs but definitely you are spending carelessly on it and truly the mindset of a gambler is to get not to loose and on a casino game a real gambler must wisely have a plan and adhere on rules to actualize it target and rich gamblers stake high in a low game which is possible to win but does not get addicted  because he analyse and strategize before staking so if it is not favourable to you does not mean is not favourable to some lucky persons and these are the mindset of rich person(mind)not of the poor person (mind).

Just like smoking and drinking alcohol, gambling is an harmless act as long as you don't get addicted to it. Most rich people aware of it and that's why we don't hear them losing their life savings to gambling very often. They only gamble to have fun. Those poor people on the other hand. They fuck everything up. They get addicted to anything.

They drink too much, they smoke too much, they play too much. You just don't show them something fun. They will kill it along with themselves. Poor people are hungry and hungry people eat till their belly explode.

I like to think of myself as The Fallen Angel (and dammit, that's what I ought to have changed my username to) rather than some kind of lesser god.

I am not sure if that's really what you want. Fallen or not, the prerequisite for being an angel is somewhat...

Here are some known angels of the forum:

1- Hal Finney (The Archangel)
2- TECSHARE
3- Becky666

590  Economy / Services / Re: Jack's Club Exclusive Bitcointalk Review Campaign on: November 27, 2023, 02:51:46 PM
Here is my review:

Quote
The website has a clear design. The troll-box is on the right, the wallet is on the top, the games are in the middle of the page. The current minimum deposit is 0.00082337 which equals to $30.88 according to preev.com's calculations. I see that this casino offers a deposit bonus depending on the amount you deposit.

For $30+, it is 120%
For $80+, it is 150%
For $400+, it is 270%

So if I make a calculation, I can deposit $30 and get a 120% bonus; but if I increase more deposit amount more than 10 folds to $400, my deposit bonus only increases 2.25 times from 120% to %270. That means this casino favors the players that deposit less than $80.

Once you make a deposit the bonus funds will appear in the account as "locked funds" and it will only be unlocked when you play and wager. I read the ToS and the formula is:

Quote
unlocked_bonus = adjusted_wager / 50 * 20%

This formula is kind of confusing because it is basically:

Code:
x/50*1/5

which is

Code:
x/50/5

which is

Code:
x/250

That means

Code:
unlocked bonus = adjusted wager / 250

Which means

Wagering $1000 will only unlock you $4 from your locked funds.

That's if my calculation is right.

I don't know what you think but this is kind of a little bit extreme. To be honest, under these circumstances I can say that deposit bonus is pretty worthless to the player.

I claimed a free JCC (which is worthless against USD) without a problem. I decided to play dice and when my chances of winning is 50%, my potential reward is 1.96x. That means the house's cut is 0.04x which is not bad. If I calculated this right the house edge is 2% or smth.

Made a few wagers and I actually turned my 1 JCC into 4 JCC.

There is also a referral program. If a new player uses your link to sign up for the casino, you get 30% commission which is pretty good actually. Sadly it is very hard to attract new players lately. If you have a big and active social media account, you can have some solid passive income this way.

I see this note in the footer:

Quote
Jackfruit B.V. - registration number: 157706 - registered address: Scharlooweg 39, Willemstad, Curaçao

This probably means this is a casino which also has a gambling license from Curaçao. I say probably because I can't find any information about the license. There is a note in the ToS page though:

Quote
License 8048/JAZ

I don't know if this should mean something to the players. Is it a license number? You should be more clear about the license you have or don't have.

There is nothing wrong being an unlicensed casino if that's the case. (at least for me)

Final Conclusions: I think it is a nice casino but since it is a fresh one, we should wait and see if they can compete against the other casinos.
591  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Many Bets to Know How Good Enough You Are? on: November 27, 2023, 01:08:29 PM
As a gambler, how many bets do you think  you need to place to give you a true idea of how good you are? Anyone can hit 60% in the short term. But for example in betting I am hitting between 55-60% depending on the sport after around 450 - 500 bets. Assuming I want to go pro on betting, do you think that this is good enough or do I wait and see what my percentage is after 800 - 900 bets before making a decision?

Somewhere between 150 and 200 probably. If someone can make more right guesses than wrong after his 100th guess I’d say that he knows his stuff. He must have an algo which makes him guess right more often and that will make him money in the long run no matter what happens.

Waiting for 400+ right guesses looks like an overkill to me. Sure it is safer but then why not wait till you make 1000 bets?

592  Economy / Economics / Re: Economists advise caution in trading in Bitcoin currency on: November 27, 2023, 09:22:14 AM
Good old price drop FUD. “What if everybody withdraws their money? What if the prices drop?” Don’t they ever get bored? Like this hasn’t happened before? Btc prices fell down by 80% many times in the past. Did bitcoin die? No. What makes these bozos think next time will be different? It won’t. Prices will go up and then down and then up… That’s how free markets work. Look at the price of gold, it can’t move either way. This shit is boring. Hopefully bitcoin will never be like gold.

it was amusing .

so he equated theymos to xena the warrior princess.

not sure if you watched the 1990’s show.

You probably need to get your eyes checked by a doc, Sir DT1 God. Otherwise people will call you "blind god" in the future. You don't want the name stick on you.

Blink twice if you can see the difference.

(ai generated image, https://creator.nightcafe.studio/)

Before I start explaining DT (deity types), I must first explain what a deity is.

A deity or god is a supernatural being considered to be sacred and worthy of worship. The Oxford Dictionary of English defines deity as a god or goddess, or anything revered as divine.

A deity is basically a god or a goddess. Divine beings. Everybody knows that much already. The important part is, he/she must be worthy of worship. This is important because that's how deities generate their godlike power. The more worshipers they have, the more powerful they become. A god without worshipers is not a god. He/She is basically nothing. Not even a mortal. Not even a memory because nobody even remembers his/her name anymore.

There are two types of deities.

1- DT1 (Deity Type 1): Gods and Goddesses. They have enormous strength and durability.

Major historical examples: Zeus, Hades, Poseidon, Odin, Thor, Tengri, Baal, Amaterasu...

2- DT2 (Deity Type 2): Demigods. These are also holy beings but they differentiate from the DT1 due to their unique characteristics. These beings have the blood of a deity and a mortal.

Major historical examples: Hercules, Leonidas, Helen of Troy, Achilles, Kabundungulu, Bragi, Gilgamesh...

DT1 (Deity Type 1)
~Gods Of Bitcointalk~
ai generated image, https://craiyon.com

The divine beings have the power to create life from nothing and eradicate any living creature. This is the club of gods where they drink blue label and bang virgins all day every day. They (mostly) live on Mt. Olympus and look down on mortals.

We measure DT1 gods' power with "God Power". God Power (gp) can be obtained from the other gods (fallen gods included).

The most powerful (top 10) gods (DT1) of bitcointalk are:

Quote
1-LoyceV (59 gp, the god king, also known as Switzerland)
2-gmaxwell (24 gp)
3-nutildah (23 gp)
4-o_e_l_e_o (22 gp)
5-DdmrDdmr (22 gp)
6-Mitchell (22 gp)
7-yahoo62278 (22 gp)
8-The Cryptovator (19 gp)
9-lovesmayfamilis (19 gp)
10-Rikafip (18 gp)

These are the most powerful gods who have lots of worshipers and very powerful beings. You just don't fuck with them (or else)

DT2 (Deity Type 2)
~Demigods of Bitcointalk~

Demigods, half mortal, half god. One of the parents was a god and the other was a peasant. Even a godly being can fall in love with a mortal every once in a while. These divine beings are also very powerful and possess some godlike abilities but their powers have a limit. Still though, that doesn't prevent them from achieving amazing goals. Every once in a while we might see them slay a dragon or a Nemean lion which mere mortals can't even dream of doing.

They don't have a club of their own and they certainly don't drink blue label. They drink walmart beer and bang whatever they can get.

DT2 members take their power from the gods directly. So unless a DT1 god supports them, they are just peasants, mortals.

We measure DT2 demigods' power with "God Particles". God particles (gp) can only be obtained from the gods. (fallen gods can't reproduce demigods)

The most powerful (top 10) demigods (DT2) of bitcointalk are:

Quote
1-suchmoon (41 gp)
2-Hhampuz (39 gp)
3-hilariousandco (32 gp)
4-DarkStar_  (31 gp)
5-The Sceptical Chymist (29 gp)
6-marlboroza (26 gp)
7-Welsh (23 gp)
8-owlcatz (21 gp)
9-LFC_Bitcoin (20 gp)
10-icopress (20 gp)

Special Mention #1:

satoshi
(4 gp, unique demigod - creator of bitcoin)

Being a demigod doesn't prevent you from accomplishing amazing stuff. satoshi is only a half god but he created this universe. Or maybe he used to be a god and decided to give up on his god powers later on. Or maybe he is hiding his real power. We can only make assumptions at this point because nobody has seen him for years. There is so much to be discovered about him. The researchers are doing their job revealing the mysteries which surround him.

Special Mention #2:

DefaultTrust
(42 gp, an anomaly in the universe, gets stronger eating excessive god power)

Fallen Gods
~ DT1 ~

Exiles. These beings have lost their god powers because of the crimes they have committed. They are banished from Mt. Olympus. Depending on their behavior, they may or may not regain their god status in the future. In their current form, they have the capacity of sending god power (elect gods) but they can't act as gods. They also can't send any god particles to elect demigods (DT2). Power-wise, they are only a little above mortals.

Some notable fallen deities are:

Quote
1-HostFat (-5gp)
2-Timelord2067 (-10 gp)
3-Symmetrick (-11 gp)
4-The0ldl_lser (-6 gp)
5-stoos (-1 gp)
6-wolwoo (-14 gp, antihero)
7-be.open (-9 gp)
8-Vispilio (-6 gp)
9-bobita (-2 gp)
10-comit (-1 gp)

DT3 (Deity Type 3)
~Special Deities, The God Killers~

Yes, I lied. I am guilty. There is one more deity type which I haven't mentioned, yet. That is DT3, The God Killers.

While they have all the characteristics of DT1 and DT2, in addition to that, they also bear a unique power. They can delete anybody and reset the realm. Even the most powerful heroic figures have no power against them. Don't let their god power fool you. They are above gods. They can have zero or below gp and still perform as god killers.

There are only two known god killers in existence:

1-Theymos (major god killer, 53 gp)

Theymos devoured the whole Greek and Norse pantheon before. Now he is on bitcointalk. Hopefully he gained some wisdom and we won't share the same fate as the others. (at least for a while)

2-Cyrus (the virus, minor god killer, 24 gp)

Not much is known about Cyrus the virus.

This post was possible thanks to:

1- TalkImg (joker_josue)
2- Bpip.org (Vod, suchmoon, ibminer)

596  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Why is my miner mining less date every day? on: November 26, 2023, 11:56:12 AM
I have a futurebit Apollo miner. Mines at about 3TH.

I bought it about a year and a half ago. Initially it mines about 1,000 sats a day. However, over time it kept going down. As of now it's averaging about 600 sats a day.

Why is it mining less? The halving hasn't happened yet

Also, I have been mining with Braiins pool the entire time, if that makes any difference

It has nothing to do with the halving. The more miners mine, the less shares you'll get. Let's say the total hashrate for mining bitcoin is 1000 th/s in the world and yours is 10 th/s. You get 1% of the total block prize on average. When the total hash rate doubles (2000 th/s) and yours stay at 10 th/s, you'll get 0.5% of the block rewards on average in the long term.

Since there are more and more miners start mining every day, unless you increase your mining power too, you'll always get less satoshis...

For this exact reason mining don't make sense for home miners. You have limited space, you have limited budget, you have high electricity costs. You cannot compete.
597  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi is Faceless on: November 26, 2023, 07:28:23 AM
satoshi is just our imagination. Every person has its own image of satoshi. Just like Jesus. Russians, Americans, Mexicans etc they all believe in Jesus but all of them have a different image. Some people even think Jesus was a black dude. This is how they portray him because it makes them feel good.

"You go into their churches and you don't see a White Jesus – you see a Black Jesus, or Chinese Jesus, or a Middle Eastern Jesus – which is of course the most accurate. You see a Fijian Jesus – you see Jesus portrayed in as many ways as there are cultures, languages and understandings."

satoshi is just like Jesus. BTC people have their own Jesus, BSV people have theirs, Bcash people have theirs...

"in satoshi we trust"

Amen.

A lot of people see this forum as a place to make money or conduct business deals and I don’t really see anything wrong with it. Raising an account just for this purpose doesn’t seem wrong to me too. In the end he didn’t get them many merits for nothing, he actually added value to the community.

The main thing is symmetrick isn’t a professional businessman as we have seen lately. Deleting topics, posts, trust ratings, canceling rewards etc all of those are unprofessional actions.

I said that before, he had many chances to get out of this mess with little or no damage but well, being unprofessional does this to you. He has the smarts to get to the top but he failed to preserve his situation which happens to many people every day.

Sometimes staying in the game is better than being fast and furious.

Ask Jesse Livermore if you can.

You may try to explain how gambling works and how it makes people poor in the long run but it is up to this fella if he will listen to your words or follow the actions of his older family members. In the end he will do what he is gonna do. He may even get angry and call you a boomer if you overdo it. If you really like this youngster you need to be smart about the words you choose. If he has the smarts, he will get what you are trying to tell him and realize how dumb his parents really are which will bring a whole new set of problems.
600  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Stop loss ? on: November 25, 2023, 07:46:29 AM
Depends…

…On how much risk I am willing to take. Some people sell when the asset goes down by 5%. Sometimes it is 10%. Personally I don’t use stop-loss most of the time because I don’t gamble on such crappy assets. I only buy the assets which i am not going to sell in the short term. That means if the asset price drops, I don’t sell, I buy more because I believe that it will become a good trade later on.

If I’m gambling on shitcoins (which doesn’t happen very often) I use 5-10% stop loss depending on my mood.
