I haven't logged into my account for a few months and guess what I saw when I logged in today... More than 100k sats received from a referral. It is not big money but ~$30 was also printing money passively (13 sats/day) by collecting interest which made me kind of happy. Maybe I should again deposit my signature earnings here. I've forgotten how that 4%/annual interest was adding up very fast. It is a great way to make passive income.

When we're into wager contests, the focus needs to be on increasing the wager. Most of the time people try to make some profit out of the same wager. This is where most of the time loss takes place. Further when the person keeps focusing on recovering the loss, gamblers find it difficult to recover and end up with the loss.

That sounds a lot like martingale which is doubling down on the losses which makes you poor slowly but certainly.

A wise gambler should know when to leave the table. If you get stubborn on getting your money back, you will probably end up losing even more. Self control is everything. You should be able to control your emotions, your wallet and everything else. Once you lose your grip on any of these, it will be the beginning of your financial demise.

Mixing service yes is always doomed. but they will keep coming up no matter us banned or other gov want to banning him

behind mixing service is to get more privacy but nowadays no no for the beginning of the service mixer service has been used as money laundry.

hacker is bad we must add line of code that block if hacker try to mix their dirty money to avoid this kind sactioned

The code may survive regardless of what happened to the devs but these mixers are private businesses. People won't automatically trust some random people that build the same service from the same code. Lots of mixing services came and went before. Most of them were scams. It will take lots of time before people start trusting them and that means a lot of lost time for those who need these services.

1544  Economy / Economics / Re: ECB lifts rates by unprecedented 75 bps on: September 10, 2022, 03:42:31 PM
Too late and still way behind the mega inflation which Europe is facing. They should probably have to raise the interest rates to 5-6% or even more to have a meaningful effect against the ongoing inflation. USA is fighting the inflation battle better than the EU but they are also late. Inflation is winning this fight very easily. When you think about it the western nations (except for a few) are full of debt in the last years. Maybe that's the reason they are not fully fighting the inflation. If they raise the rates "too much", some of those countries will go bankrupt.

I buy part of your argument, but as I said in my previous comment, attacking inflation on the demand side without attacking the biggest cause which is energy prices is never going to solve the problem completely.

Rising energy prices is the result of the rising monetary base which causes the inflation in the first place. If you think the energy prices are expensive, that only means you are poor and can't afford to pay the price. There are infinite amount of energy in the world. You just have to collect it either via digging or installing solar panels... whichever is cheap.

Sure, the ongoing Russia/Ukraine war also affects the prices but Russia is not the only seller in the market. You can always buy energy from somewhere else. I don't think that war affects the prices that much. It is the hugely expanded monetary supply which caused the price rises.

1546  Economy / Economics / Re: Which city deserves to be the blockchain capital? on: September 10, 2022, 01:44:36 PM
London.

Now the queen is dead, we have a new king.

Maybe King Charles (the first of his name king of the Andals and the first men, lord of the seven kingdoms, and protector of the realm) will be a more crypto friendly king unlike the dead queen.

If there will be a crypto capital, it should be either New York or London but USA is pretty paranoiac with the money stuff so I wouldn't count on them too much. I think UK is better in this regard so London would be a greater choice.

Rome, Dubai, San Francisco, Miami, Singapore... these are all crap choices imo.

Miami.... FFS... Why not Amsterdam?

1547  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Twitter Criticize Apompliano for removing laser eyes on: September 10, 2022, 01:23:12 PM
People can change their opinions there is nothing wrong with that. Just because he was shilling for something doesn't mean he will do that forever. Most people here bought an asset and sold it before. Why did you sell? It is either you started to think that asset is no good anymore or you thought that you made enough profits so it is time to enjoy them profits. We don't know what was Pomp's reason for this action but I don't think it is anybody's business. Bitcoin is not a religion, it is just another asset in the ocean of assets.
1548  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH Sentiment Poll for September on: September 10, 2022, 11:05:24 AM
I voted $1000 because the sentiment for almost every asset is bearish because of the rising interest rates and the inflation. People are simply running away from the riskier assets and crypto is riskier than anything else so it is not a surprise that crypto took the biggest hit along with the Nasdaq.

ETH will see $2k once again but not before it goes lower first. It will only get worse before it gets better. The good news is the current situation cannot last forever so eventually the interest rates will go down again.
1549  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Terra Classic recovered? on: September 10, 2022, 10:52:03 AM
If you “invest” in this scam again, you deserve everything coming at you. These projects harmed crypto more than Mt.Gox probably. Thousands of people lost their life savings there. Why would you want to invest in it? Do you thini they will get it right this time? What about those who lost their money there? The CEO of this project should be in jail imo. I don’t buy that it was a decentralized project crap neither because it wasn’t.
1550  Economy / Economics / Re: Energy FUD!!! on: September 10, 2022, 05:22:58 AM
The fabricated "Energy crisis" are just a political play to fund large projects, where opportunities for bribes are created in a partnership between large Private companies and top government officials.  Angry

So, what they do for example : They do not maintain the power plants and the supporting infrastructure, so that it eventually fails. When it fails... it creates a fabricated "crisis" that needs emergency funding. The Tender processes are hastened to "manage" the crisis and in that process... a lot of money for the project are siphoned to pay for inflated costs to rush those projects. (This "extra" money are then used to pay bribes to the people that approved the tenders)  Roll Eyes

Exactly. There isn't even such thing as "limited energy." The energy is unlimited. You just don't want to pay the price. The price is going higher because, the central banks printing more money than they should have.

It is amazing that they want to have low inflation after printing multiple trillions of US dollars in the last 2 years. Tbh oil price should be way higher than $100 right now. It is being manipulated af.
1551  Economy / Economics / Re: US congress set to consider legislation to BAN proof of work on: September 09, 2022, 07:18:08 PM
That’s pretty concerning for bitcoin’s future. If this legislation passes, then bitcoin might take a major hit. Especially if the other countries decide to follow. Maybe the devs should consider a new proposal to integrate PoS. Most people won’t like this idea but if that’s the only way for bitcoin to survive, then we will have no choice. It is still early to discuss this though. Even if the legislation passes it will only affect the miners in the US anyway. Maybe it won’t hurt bitcoin that much.
1552  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Too good to be true? on: September 09, 2022, 09:40:57 AM
Is it possible to invest 100$ in altcoin and turn to 7,000$? Have this ever happened to anyone on here? Is this even possible?.

Of course it is possible. You'll just have to be incredibly lucky. The markets are now in a bear market though. So the chances of that happening again is very slim in the foreseeable future.

You'll have to pick the right project, invest in it, wait for a few years and boom your $100 will become $7k.

Remember ETH once was $9, and now it is $1.7k.

If you had bought 10 eth for $90 back in the day, you would have had $17k staring at you in you wallet.
1553  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto Casino Stake.com sued for $400 million on: September 08, 2022, 10:39:56 AM
Even if he don’t win the lawsuit these news will be devastating for the casino’s public image. Now lots if people will panic and withdraw funds because of that. It may even send the casino to bankruptcy. Stake/Primedice is (or was) one of the biggest casinos in this space and not many people had any serious problems with them. They (probably) still have a good reputation but these news might change everything.

I don't think that this could be a significant news for Primedice/Stake, they are the prime movers of crypto casinos and with that it's hard to see them losing that position because they are fighting against one another in the court. For sure there will be competitions already that will try to take a piece of the pie, but it will not be easy as this 2 are still on the top of this very niche. Unless there have been issues like not paying their whales, but in this case? as othes mentioned it's just about the money and not their reputation is on the line.

The fiercest battles usually happen between brothers.

It may not look like a significant event to you but like I said if they can't come to an agreement, this might be the end for primedice/stake.com for good. That's also why I don't like to do business with partners. Partners mean trouble. Fuck em. The best way to do business is doing it alone. It may pay lower but you will have the peace of mind which is more valuable than almost anything imo.
1554  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Unprecedented political raid on Trump/Redacted affidavit/etc. on: September 08, 2022, 04:58:55 AM
What do you think? Has Biden weaponized the DOJ against his political opponents? Has the DOJ and FBI lost all credibility?

Nope.

Does Biden look like someone that has a mind of his own?

Biden can't even weaponize his dick on women, let alone his brain which he don't have left any.

Someone is weaponizing DOJ though, that's easily visible but It is surely not Biden.
1555  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is your plan with Bitcoin? on: September 08, 2022, 04:55:58 AM
Hi all,

I started investing in crypto February this year but due to the high price of Bitcoin did not start investing in it until mid June just after the crash.

Since then I have been DCA every week and currently own 2% of a Bitcoin at an average price of £17,900.

My goal is to hold Bitcoin until it reaches £500k - £1m, i know it will take a long time but will be worth it.

I am hoping these current prices last a lot longer so that we can all continue to DCA at low prices.

Just wondering how everyone else invests in Bitcoin? How often do you buy and how long do you plan to hold?

You'd have to wait for a long time to get that price range imo. I would wait for a more realistic price if I were you, like $100k or even below. $50-$100k is a nice target I think. If you are very young then sure, wait for $500k but don't get mad if it takes multiple decades.

You were wise to start DCA'ing now when the prices are low. A lot wiser than who started DCA'ing when the price was $60k+.
1556  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fiat Banks Conspiracy Against Customers. Bitcoin is the Best Option on: September 08, 2022, 04:50:20 AM
There is always someone to make transaction on bitcoin. Bitcoin is the best option for transaction of goods and services

Depends on the goods and services imo. If you don't want to wait, then altcoins are way faster than btc. If the merchant accept lightning network, then bitcoin has no competition there but as far as I know, not many mercs are accepting ln. The other issue is volatility. If a btc tx takes 1 hour to complete and btc has a 5% drop during that time then the merchant will take a 5% loss. As long as their main income is FIAT based (credit cards & cash), that wouldn't be a problem but once majority of their customers start using crypto, that would be pretty challenging for the merchant. It is because the merchant needs pay his bills in USD, not in BTC.
1557  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why I won't be buying Eth until the merge is completed things are running fine on: September 07, 2022, 06:00:04 PM
Is this ideal or let me use the word most suitable, I plan not to buy Ethereum until the merge is complete because

1. Its been years that we've been waiting for this merge to happen and there have been so many delays and postponements for the past years, I doubt things will go smoothly, what if something so catastrophic happens to Ethereum when and after the merge?. .this upgrade has not been tested yet so anything could go wrong.

2. Many exchanges already halted every Eth transactions starting from today and that's even on other chains as well, I think they knew anything could go wrong, even erc20 tokens can't be processed or sent when the merge is close am I right?

I am open to learning more about crypto, if you think there are things I don't understand please do correct me in a friendly way, God bless

That would be a wise move. We still don't know what would happen during the merge. One bad line of code would blow up everything. If that happens, they will do a roll back and everything happened during and after the merge will get erased. I am not saying it will happen but the chances will always be there no matter how slim they are. Better be safe than sorry.

To be on the safest side, it is probably better to convert your holdings to some other good coin like for example, bitcoin. You can convert them back to eth later on.
1558  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Binance to remove USDC as a tradable asset. on: September 06, 2022, 06:42:50 PM
Source: https://twitter.com/WatcherGuru/status/1566847870841520129

So if you're a USDC user, you should think twice, because I wouldn't be surprised if we see something worse in the coming days. So it is good to be careful in advance.

I expect a retaliation from Coinbase by removing USDT from coinbase. That would heat things up. Maybe it will be the beginning of the end of the stable coin scam. If crypto somehow dies one day, it will be by the hands of the stable(!) coins. None of them are audited, nobody knows if they are really backed, it is a very useful tool to manipulate the markets... The sooner we get rid of them, the better it is for crypto.
1559  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting Strategies & Betting Psychology on: September 04, 2022, 08:12:00 PM
You can find the extensive lists of Betting Strategies & Betting Psychology here: https://sportstatist.com/betting-strategies/

As you know, some players prefer to bet following certain betting strategies. At the same time, some players use their own betting strategies, and some do not even know about their existence, or do not believe in their effectiveness. In short, this topic is intended to discuss betting strategies and the psychology of betting as well...

Strategies are pointless in luck based games. Martingale, reverse martingale or any other complex algorithms/sequences do work but not for you. They work for the casino because there is that thing called house edge and the house edge makes it sure that you lose if you play more and any of these strategies make you play more.

As far as the psychology goes, you should only know when to leave the table and never ever double down on our losses. (that's called martingale)
1560  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 12 years ago mined 50 Bitcoin just moved on: September 04, 2022, 11:28:50 AM
Interesting, thanks for sharing.

I wonder why they're still using an older address(the ones that start with 1 or 3), and not a new one (the ones that start with bc1).

My guess is that this is someone that found an old miner PC or something like that, and moved the coins around using the same configuration/wallet.

A person with that many coins don’t really care about the transaction fees I guess… I don’t think there are any other advantages of using the new bc1 addresses.

Whoever he is, maybe he just decided to get retired. Or maybe he thinks crypto will go down down more and $1m is still capable of buying lots of stuff nowadays. Sure he missed the chance to get $3m but $1m is still better than $500k (just an example)
