1561  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin could drop to $10,000 by 2023 as the Fed normalizes interest rate policy on: September 04, 2022, 10:39:47 AM
Bitcoin could plummet 76% from current levels to $10,000 by 2023 as the cryptocurrency faces three macro headwinds that have an influence on its price, according to a note from Stifel's Barry Bannister.

Bannister highlighted global money supply, the 10-Year US Treasury yield, and the equity risk premium of the S&P 500 that have influence over the price of bitcoin. Planned tightening by the Federal Reserve in the form of interest rate hikes and a reduction in its balance sheet could have a negative impact on the price of bitcoin, according to Bannister.

"In 2022, we see bitcoin in a broad trading range bounded by year-to-date intra-day levels with greater downside risk in 2023 if the Fed continues to normalize policy in a 'standard' two-year tightening cycle," Bannister explained.

Totally possible. It is because anything is possible with crypto. If the article was saying $1000 instead of $10000, I would still believe it. The current view is pretty bearish for crypto. The thing is, crypto isn't the only asset going down, stocks are going down too. Most people in the US have their retirement funds in the stock market. If the markets go down even more, that would hurt lots of elderly people that depend on the markets. At some point the FED will have to lower the interest rates again.
1562  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto Casino Stake.com sued for $400 million on: September 04, 2022, 05:08:44 AM
Even if he don’t win the lawsuit these news will be devastating for the casino’s public image. Now lots if people will panic and withdraw funds because of that. It may even send the casino to bankruptcy. Stake/Primedice is (or was) one of the biggest casinos in this space and not many people had any serious problems with them. They (probably) still have a good reputation but these news might change everything.
1563  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you play online/offline without your wife or family knowing it? on: September 03, 2022, 05:21:50 PM

Now, this would be something of a thread where users can give tips as to how we play online/offline without our family knowing it. Curious how you do it.

My wife suspected me for almost a year already when I was watching a UFC channel on youtube where they suggest who to bet. Of course, I said No when she asked if I was betting. From then on I just hold my phone whenever she is not around. It's a long argument when your wife suggests buying this or that on amazon yet you gambling your funds. lol

I don't think you should do that at all. What do you think will happen when your family/wife finds out that you are a gambling addict? I can tell you it won't be something pretty. If you are not overdoing it, then there shouldn't be any problem. If you are not an addict and your wife/family still would get mad, then you should tell your family that it is not their business. If it is your wife we are talking about here, then you should explain her what you are doing. If she is not agreeing with your actions, then you have two choices. Do what she says or leave her.
1564  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does altcoins actually have the potentials of generating benefits to investors? on: September 03, 2022, 08:29:38 AM
As a beginner into the trading business, I'm always scared of putting my money into altcoins but I do hear some people talk about how they make profits altcoins.

So I decided to come here to seek the views of experienced traders on the potentials of altcoins.

It is all about the risk/reward ratio. The riskier the investment, the bigger potential profits there will be. (your potential losses will be bigger too) That's why alts attract so many people because they have the potential to do x100 while bitcoin can only make x3-x4.  People don't want to wait for long time to get rich. They want to get rich now. When you think about it, they should be playing dice instead of buying crypto because it only takes a second to get rich or poor when you play dice. Why waste weeks/months with trading and shit when you can instantly get rich with gambling?
1565  Economy / Reputation / Re: Is this allowed? on: September 03, 2022, 05:10:33 AM
I'm very impressed with the post quantity this week keep it up guys and don't forget to visit Betplay's ANN thread; ⚡️⚡️Betplay.io - Lightning Network Casino - INSTANT & ZERO FEE Payments ⚡️⚡️ to engage in discussion over there.
Guys don't forget to visit Betplay to try out the casinos then drop your review on the ANN thread; ⚡️⚡️Betplay.io - Lightning Network Casino - INSTANT & ZERO FEE Payments ⚡️⚡️ also don't forget to engage in regular discussion over there.

Can this be considered as "Paid Bumps"?

Paid Bump is not allowed by the forum policy. It may result to permanently ban all users engaged including the campaign manager responsible.

This topic is to clarify the matter and not to accuse the campaign manager. He may not be aware of it either, and in order not to cause this to ban accounts that may not be aware that this may be a violation of one of the rules on the forum.

Is the campaign manager paying for these posts in the ANN thread? If not, there shouldn’t be any problems. Even if he does, he doesn’t request it. He is just telling people if they have anything to discuss about the casino, they can do it in the ANN. It is simply a reminder and nothing else.

Aware or or not, I don’t think anything wrong is happening here and nobody will get banned for this.
1566  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What do you think about the school lessons of gambling addiction? on: September 01, 2022, 08:03:12 PM
There isn’t really much you can do to prevent people from getting addicted. It is just their destiny. Every time a person was born, the gods flip a coin and decide that person’s future. If he was lucky, he becomes someone smart enough to understand mathematics and if not, he becomes another weakling getting his blood sucked off by the gambling industry. People usually don’t get smarten up at their later age. If they can figure it all out before 20-25 then they’ll be fine. If not, then it means they choose to be a fuck up.
1567  Other / Meta / Re: Is the forum now attracting people trying to impress for reward? on: August 31, 2022, 02:08:05 PM
I can't even remember when was the last time I've read something worthwhile. To be honest there isn't much to talk about. The hype is pretty much dead. Everybody knows bitcoin, everybody knows eth. Everybody knows monero. The prices go up and down... No new tech is emerging. What else to talk about? World-news maybe? Politics & Society board is kind of alive but the rest is a spamfest.
1568  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How many numbers can you roll in dice? (ignoring the decimals?) on: August 30, 2022, 12:09:05 PM
Dice is my favourite and majority of my spending is now on Dice. In the past it was on sports betting. I used to prefer mostly x2, but when this doesn't work I prefer using the martingale strategy. Quite often used to try the roll over 99.99 looking for x9900. I've hit this when playing with zero betting amount.
As for me, I still always prefer sport betting, especially the one I know most which is football betting, I prefer it because it offers the opportunity to analyze, but still it is a game of luck because anything can happen, a club you think would win may lose, and a club you think would lose may win.

What I have known about virtual games like dice is that it is more of game of luck, I have seen the martingale strategy to be useful, by just starting to gamble with a very low amount of money, double the money or increase it in certain percentage as you continue to bet if losing, even if the bet does not hit in the first place is not bad at all as you double the money, so if the bet later hit then you have better profit, but I have preferred this strategy only on games that the profit : loss are both 50:50.

Sports betting is for the scholars. Dice is for the lazy who don't like to read books. Both can be very profitable depending on the player.

Martingale however is the biggest scam ever. It is not useful for anything. You are basically doubling down on your losses and with every round you risk more and more while your potential gains are going less and less.

In the end, if the player has a good information about the teams/leagues he is wagering on, then he should bet on sports. If the player has no information at all, then his best chance is playing luck based games.
1569  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Hardware wallet FUD (nonce attacks, unofficial firmware, etc) on: August 30, 2022, 10:03:59 AM
You can use electrum or a similar open source wallet on your iphone/android device too. It is not rocket science. They are pretty safe too. (not as safe as a linux pc but i would say pretty close)

So, in your opinion, an open source wallet on iphone/android is as safe (or safer) than a hardware wallet?

Nope. In my opinion hardware wallets make no sense to use. Completely unnecessary.

If you are going to hold, use a piece of paper.

If you are going to spend, use your phone.

If you are going to trade, well the exchange does the holding for you.

There isn't any need for a hw wallet in any of these situations.

Ok, let's say a non-technical person (like the vast majority of people) wants to buy $25k in Bitcoin and hold it for 5 years.

What would be your recommendation to this person?

1) Install a mobile app on his phone, generate a seed, back up the seed, receive the bitcoin and then uninstall the app.

2) Learn how to install Linux and a wallet like Electrum or Sparrow and use that to generate the seed and receiving address.

3) Other (specify)

Learning how to install linux mint is not harder than learning how cook by watching youtube videos. Tbh you don't even need linux. A clean windows install would do.

All you need to do is clicking "next next next next" and everything will be there.

Generate seeds and write down them on a piece of paper and its done.

Easier than boiling an egg.
1570  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: DENT coin is potential? on: August 29, 2022, 08:37:59 AM
In this Alt season , DENT coin is potential for Next ATH ?

Is this coin officially endorsed by the The American Dental Association? If so, then I'd say it will do fine in the future. If DENT has nothing to do with The American Dental Association, then what is its use case? Is it just a dent on my front teeth? Why would it do another ATH if can't spend my dentcoins to fix my teeth? How many dentists accept dentcoin in the US? What is the adoption rate? Tbh this is my first time I heard about dent and I don't think there are any dentists know about this coin's existence. In the light of this information, I don't think waiting for a new ATH is a realistic expectation.
1571  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why full time to crypto why not to Skills on: August 29, 2022, 06:06:37 AM
Dear community I have researched almost % of people's stepping towards crypto without any proper training and attention and losing their money for greedy mind...
Why peoples are not attention to Skills (e-commerce, freelancing)
Wanna suggest a little bit of your time to spend in learning skills and improve your mind strength+💰🤑

You are right. People think investing or trading crypto will make them rich magically. As you said that's almost never going to happen. If they want to get rich out of dumb luck, they should just play dice and wager everything they have. Otherwise, getting rich takes enormous study and time. Learning a skill which is well in demand makes a huge difference and it is almost risk-free because you are not gambling at all. You become a merchant who sells his skills and gets paid for it. E-commerce is a good idea too. It is like trading crypto but unlike crypto, your products will always get sold for more than what you paid for. (as long as you sell a product which everybody wants of course)
1572  Economy / Economics / Re: Have you felt the impact of inflation so far? on: August 29, 2022, 05:16:39 AM
Of course... Everything I purchased last year is more expensive this year. Oil, gas, food, water, snacks, bills.. anything you name it. It is impossible to ignore the inflation. Even the very rich people are complaining.  The Fed says they will fight the inflation by raising the interest rates and they won't stop till the inflation comes down to 2%. That means the economy will get fucked up pretty badly because if the interest rates goes that high, there will be a recession. The economy will simply stop.
1573  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Forbes claims that more than half of Bitcoin trade records are fake on: August 28, 2022, 07:41:37 PM
That’s probably true because it is a child’s play for the exchanges to fake trading volumes. They can do wash trades with their infinite imaginary dollars and coins. Who’s going to tell if the trades happening on that exchange were legit or not? How is he going to decide? I think almost every exchange does this to an extent but newly established ones are especially going to abuse it fully.
1574  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russia use Webmoney for money laundering by 1Xbet on: August 28, 2022, 06:14:56 PM

Is their any way it can be stopped? ? ?

Decentralization biatch! Ain't it awesome? AWWESOOME!

It is funny how people like bitcoin for being decentralized and shit and get angry when their enemy uses it for the same reasons.

Yes It can be stopped. You'll only have to kill "crypto". Good luck with that.
1575  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can One Actually Do Crypto Trading As A Living? on: August 28, 2022, 02:30:20 PM
I've heard of many people talk about cryptocurrency and its potentials all the time and at a point I begin to wonder if one can just depend fully on cryptocurrency as a means of livelihood.

Depends.

... on the trader.

People make a living out of lots of things. Some people are very successful gamblers and make a living out of it. You'll find lots of people here telling you that it is impossible to make a living out of gambling but there are indeed people who do that successfully.

If you do the right trades... why not?

All you need to do is finding them right trades.
1576  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My feelings after 11 years with crypto. on: August 28, 2022, 01:38:25 PM
Always be future looking like the markets.

What’s done is done. You could have, you would have, should have done that, done this… but you didn’t. However you are still alive and hopefully you’ll still have many years ahead which means you can still do a lot of things for your future.

Instead of whining like a little girlie and wasting you precious time, maybe you should start doing what is necessary to be done.

You don’t even necessarily need to invest in crypto. It is not the only game in town. Real estate, stocks, bonds, commodities, forex, gambling (not recommended), starting your own start-up, having a high paying job, educating yourself… any of these may help you with reaching your dream life.
1577  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who Would You Likely Sign Up Under In Casinos on: August 28, 2022, 01:29:02 PM
Under Signature campaigns without the slightest doubt. Signature campaigns are safe and effective way of promoting businesses. The campaign managers hand pick the best posters in the forum so only the best people will be promoting these casinos because these casinos deserve the best. Hand crafted made in USA.

Every other choice could lead you to a mistake. Sure there are shit casino campaigns like 1xbit going on in the forum but a careful forum reader would notice the difference between a legit casino and a scam one like 1xbit in a matter of minutes to if not seconds. That’s because every 1xbit camp participant and manager have at least a couple of red trust ratings.
1578  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Tornado.Cash Sanctioned by the US on: August 28, 2022, 11:46:15 AM
According to CNBC, the US' Treasury Department sanctioned on-chain mixing service Tornado.cash because of "money laundering" activities. Here's the link to the article: https://www.cnbc.com/2022/08/08/crypto-mixing-service-tornado-cash-blacklisted-by-treasury-department-.html

I fail to see how successful the US government would be at sanctioning a decentralized mixing protocol, since there's no single entity behind it. You can't hold someone accountable for patronizing money laundering activities if everything's decentralized by design. Even if the website goes down, users can still access the smart contract directly without limitations.

Am I missing something here? Does this mean all mixing protocols/services are doomed? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Smiley

Haven't they caught one of the tornado.cash devs? It is as simple as that. They may not catch everybody who uses the platform but they can close down the project's repo (which they already did I believe), throw all the devs to jail and it is over just like that. The project will eventually die off because there won't be anybody developing and promoting it. Nobody will ever know its existence.

If any blockchain related project is still available to us, it is because the US government allows it.
1579  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin versus Banks on: August 28, 2022, 11:43:05 AM
Bitcoin is too perfect for its own good. Humans are definitely far from being perfect. We lie, we get jealous, we don't want to get punished for our mistakes.

That's why bitcoin will never be as big as banks because humans will always prefer corruption&lies over perfection&honesty.

I am sorry but banks will win this one.
1580  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin talk and Satoshi Nakamoto on: August 27, 2022, 06:49:55 AM
You can't find satoshi anymore.

Upon his death, we buried his body on a green hill full of flowers looking down a river. The place is known only by the early adopters of this forum and they won't let you go anywhere near because we don't want any newbies disturbing the memory of our prophet. Now go away in peace and forget satoshi ever lived here.
