Wait, is it The Pharmacist's gang now? I really need to know who I should report to, now that Lauda has disappeared in mysterious circumstances.
dont be an idiot, you know its lauda's gang which includes morons like whom defending abusive members like the pharmacist.
2) Lauda has recently been blacklisted from DT1. (She still is on DT2 though.) With this recent development, the "gang" needs to be reorganized.
First time i heard about this? Any link to what happend/why? just curious.
Follow the drama here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5095156.msg51765169#msg51765169
I still don't understand the "why" behind blacklisting him though. ..But..  it seems like nobody does..?
583  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Paxful or LocalBitcoins? Which one is better and why? on: July 11, 2019, 12:15:29 PM
I have discovered paxful recently and was surprised to see some buyers are willing to buy btc at much higher price than market.
I have seen buy order upto $17,000 per btc while market price was still $11k.
I wonder why would someone buy at such a high price when he could have bought it at market rate Huh
Because he often can't. Paxful serves a lot of people from third world countries where they really don't have access to ibans/sepa, paypal, or a bank account for that matter.

In nigeria for example, a lot of people deal in itunes giftcards as a form of currency. don't ask me why, it just is.

Due to high carding rates and such the actual value of those giftcards is highly depreciated, which is why they're asking 17k per BTC for them as conversion rate.
584  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Get automatically an email if a bitcoin adress is used? on: July 11, 2019, 11:53:52 AM
This service also claims to do exactly that; notifying you whenever a transaction is seen going in/out your wallet/adresses.

Not sure how secure it is, so never import more than your xpub, and really for privacy reasons you ideally only want to import individual adresses.. - https://blockpath.com/wallets/local/101?action=appemail
Haven't tested it, but the UI doesn't seem to indicate that there's a max amount of adresses you can import.
585  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Poloniex's taking money from its customers to cover its loss on: July 10, 2019, 08:16:13 PM
I will do it for sure. People must know their heroes.

Thanks, everybody should it. It only takes a few minutes, and it will make the crypto world safer, by telling real facts about the Poloniex exchange.
There's 2k reviews in the app store.

A couple grumpy reviews, especially if they look targeted (which this does.) will change nothing, and perhaps even be removed by google/apple for being fake.

I don’t know how their accounts are setup. I don’t believe they have bank accounts with customer money. If they do go bankrupt, the argument will likely be made that account holders have a lien against crypto assets in the amount of their various balances. Someone who has a 1 btc deposit will have a lien on 1 btc worth of their bitcoin and someone with a 1 ltc deposit has a lien on 1 ltc worth of litecoin.
Yeah, i also think they just store their customer's assets in a cold-storage somewhere. I'm kind of interested to know what the rules and regulations on that are, and to who these funds belong in the end.
Really curious actually.

I just know a couple other exchanges who do have custodial bank accounts, but knowing poloniex i wouldn't expect too much from them, much less so in a bankruptcy case, when i can't even under normal circumstances get my money out.

Quite the misplaced analogy, don't you think?
587  Local / 中文 (Chinese) / Re: ParamountDax European Licenced Exchange share 46% of daily profit with users on: July 10, 2019, 06:12:49 PM
Hello, please read this article about us, you will find all the information in details

https://medium.com/@paramountdax/paramountdax-is-the-safest-exchange-ever-created-100m-insurance-ebcb4bea0b3e
That insurance is in case an employee at Bitgo steals your funds. It doesn't protect/insure anything once it is out of their hands though.

What you're stating in your article is false.

You state:
Quote from: your medium article
In addition to keeping most of the funds in the cold wallet, we have pushed our security to the maximum level by signing a guarantee agreement for $ 100 million in case of any losses due to system breaches.
This insurance covers:
• Errors committed by employees
• Theft committed by employees
• Hacking
The insurance covers ONLY the funds stored at Bitgo;

Quote from: Bitgo
What Is Covered ?
The $100 million policy covers digital assets where the private keys are held 100% by BitGo Trust Company or BitGo, Inc. in the event of:

Third-party hacks, copying, or theft of private keys
Insider theft or dishonest acts by BitGo employees or executives
Loss of keys

So if your system is breached, Bitgo won't give your customers a dime as YOUR system is not under their control.

Sorry but if you don't understand this i don't think you can maintain an exchange in the first place.

Also, how do we verify you actually use bitgo for cold storage..? we can't.

I've seen more and more exchanges and services use Bitgo "insurance", and i'm getting slightly annoyed by that as

A. it doesn't cover any/all funds of users.
B. it's completely nontransparent from their part about who their actual customers are.
C. it's completely nontransparent about how much funds from users from exchange X or service X they're actually storing/holding.

Bitgo insurance is actually totally useless if you're intending to do harm to your customers. it doesn't protect your customer from you in any way.
588  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANNOUNCE] Bitcoin Fog: Secure Bitcoin Anonymization on: July 10, 2019, 04:35:29 PM
Where did you send your coins to anyway? the clearnet site seems to be down .. ? http://www.bitcoinfog.com --- 404.

He must have used this one: https://bitcoinfog.site/
Not sure if it's a clone site or it's still part of them

I guess so. Even then, the .onion listed on there, "http://foggedddxlunnaaa.onion/" doesn't even load in for me. I've waited 5 minutes now, it's still loading.....  Undecided

I really doubt they're still in business, if they are, they've hidden their services extremely well. I still don't understand where you even send your BTC to @vuulkey.
589  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Fee estimation failed. Fallbackfee is disabled. Wait a few blocks or enable on: July 10, 2019, 02:14:16 PM
OMG i tried it with the custom setting (0,0003) and it worked !!! thanks so much !!
I'd suggest lowering it a bit more though because 0.0003 might still be a bit excessive to pay per kB..
(Or not?)

https://bitcoinfees.earn.com says the fastest cheapest right now is:
Quote
The fastest and cheapest transaction fee is currently 72 satoshis/byte, shown in green at the top.

So if you want to get your tx'd confirmed the fastest you should probably use ~
Code:
fallbackfee=0.00072

Doesn't really matter though.
590  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Fee estimation failed. Fallbackfee is disabled. Wait a few blocks or enable on: July 10, 2019, 01:27:24 PM
i copied the bitcoin-conf from D:\Bitcoin\doc to C:\Users\xxx\AppData\Roaming\Bitcoin. In both are only fallbackfee=0.0002 . still error
Try to not copy anything maybe?

Navigate to
Code:
C:\Users\xx\AppData\Roaming\Bitcoin

Open vs, or whatever text editor you use.

-> create new file,
-> name bitcoin.conf
->
Code:
fallbackfee=0.0002

I used 0.003BTC, but you get the idea.

I'm not entirely sure if setting a fallback fee will actually solve your problem, but i guess we'll see.
591  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Fee estimation failed. Fallbackfee is disabled. Wait a few blocks or enable on: July 10, 2019, 01:01:41 PM

Doesn't look good. skip a line and try again.

Or delete all the other commands listed there, as you don't need them, and i'm pretty sure they're #'d. (testnet=1 can't be right..)

edit: you're editing a doc file.

Bitcoin.conf is located, or rather, should be created:
Code: (https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Running_Bitcoin)
Operating System	Default bitcoin datadir	Typical path to configuration file
Windows %APPDATA%\Bitcoin\ C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Bitcoin\bitcoin.conf
Linux $HOME/.bitcoin/ /home/username/.bitcoin/bitcoin.conf
Mac OSX $HOME/Library/Application Support/Bitcoin/ /Users/username/Library/Application Support/Bitcoin/bitcoin.conf
592  Other / Meta / Re: Why bitcointalk.org is so popular? on: July 10, 2019, 12:34:56 PM
Probably because it was the first of it's kind, and due to all the "OG's" using it.

I also think that, despite all the hate signature campaigns get, they played a major role in attracting both companies and other users to bitcointalk.
Whether that kind of popularity is a good or a bad thing -- you tell me, but it sure did increase BTalk's traffic stats & posts.

https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?date=all&q=bitcointalk You can see that a lot of traffic comes from people wondering about bounties.
593  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How to use the same address for sending and receiving Bitcoin? (Simple question) on: July 10, 2019, 12:18:09 PM
Great solution, thanks so much for your help!!

Also, just FYI: Even if the adress on blockchain.com is no longer visible, you can still send payments to it and it'll show up to your balance just fine. (as bob already said.)

But, it's much smarter anyway to switch to Electrum or Bitcoin Core due to the increased amount of fee options, segwit, rbf, etc.
594  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Weonix.net on: July 09, 2019, 09:25:34 PM
he send me first 1.1 btc i thinked is real because i know him for long time i really think he is not a liar he talk me about a project with a millionar he say me he can't withdraw more than 2.8 btc so withdraw for me like an idiot i trust him because i think he is a real friend pfff
Send to your wallet or to your account on weonix? I can also give you a virtual nonexisting balance of 10000 BTC on AdolfinWolfExchange.com, it doesn't mean anything.

Hello to all, first thank you for say me that i know this guy Power man for like 4 month i had a lot trust on him so when he give me 4 btc to weonix.net i think it was real, so i deposit one time 0.02 btc to a wrong adress because i don't create a deposit and another 0.0205 btc to the right adress but they say me i need pay 0.024 beause i don't pay the fees.
So now today i can't pay more because im empty but i just lose 500 euros trying to get the 4 btc. He show me proof of withdrawal and a lot now i just want die it's look like im the only man who is honest on business who have social media Facebook, Telegram ect i just can't believe he scam me i really think his story is real i needed 2000 euros for cover very emerency problem with this 500 euros if i keep that on trading or even gambling i had a little chance in one month but now total broke hard work for nothing. Im just so idiot
Did he approach you, or you him? anyways, do not send him anything anymore.

It's the sunk cost fallacy. You need to accept that the 0.0405 BTC are gone. Anything else you give him will be too. There is no magic 4BTC if you send him another 0.024BTC, believe me.

Either OP's friend is getting scammed with something along the lines of the good old "Hey, this exchange offers X amount of money for you to withdraw, but you need to deposit Y $ yourself first" by someone who PM'd him the link of the exchange on a social media such as reddit,

Bitconneeeeeect!
596  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What are you looking in a DEX? on: July 09, 2019, 08:40:26 PM
One of the issues that can be possible be faced up by DEX.They are prone to monitoring thats why i dont really trust too much when it comes to full anonymity.
Uhm. Isn't like the only reason people use DEX' due to the fact that they don't require KYC checks/do extensive logging of their customers?

People do love to use Dexe's but they do end up on using Centralized ones because most traders or investors do make use of it.High volume which do makes it attractive.
How can a centralized dex be a dex?  Huh Am i missing something.

I thought binance was developing a dex, but other than a few articles i can't find anything about it anymore.

https://www.binance.org/en/trade/BZNT-464_BNB - It's the .org - is this DEX fully "decentralized"? Is it worth using over the "normal" binance? Doesn't seem to have a lot of pairs or volume yet.
Looks better than any of the decentralized exchanges i've seen so far though.
597  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: P2PB2B Scam!! Selling coins they don't have, wash trading, fraud and theft! on: July 09, 2019, 06:46:32 PM
To then lie to your users and try to cover your mistake instead of taking responsibility for your actions is shameful and it is no wonder they are using a Belize and Seychelles setup for the incorporation of their business. Only companies looking to avoid lawsuits or legal action would set up this type of infrastructure.
Not necessarily. They're in general simply useful for businesses who don't want to abide every law/regulation that the US/EU shits out.

Anyway, although you didn't really mention what you meant by washtrading except to mention it in your title, i do think you're right. Their traffic rankings are  almost *exponentially* lower than all of their competitors, yet they sometimes have twice the volume.

This is the case for most exchanges listed on CMC though, all of them except for maybe binance, bittrex, and a handful of others.

Some comparison:

https://coinmarketcap.com/exchanges/p2pb2b/
Code:
24 H Volume - $168,319,947 USD
13,362 BTC
https://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/p2pb2b.io
Code:
Alexa ranking: This site ranks:
#72,901
in global internet engagement
https://www.similarweb.com/website/p2pb2b.io#display
Code:
Global Rank
Worldwide
 95,917

Now lets take a look at some of their direct competitors in the # reported volume metrics:

Code: (https://coinmarketcap.com/exchanges/gate-io/)
$153,097,381 USD
12,156 BTC

Code: (https://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/gate.io)
This site ranks:
#17,010
in global internet engagement
https://www.similarweb.com/website/gate.io - 2.7 million visits.
https://www.similarweb.com/website/p2pb2b.io 0.5 million visits.
Gate.io gets 5 times as many visitors as p2pb2p.io, yet they have a lower volume. >big brain time.

Another one:
Code: (https://coinmarketcap.com/exchanges/bittrex/)
$90,232,784 USD
7,168 BTC
Code: (https://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/bittrex.com)
#4,109
in global internet engagement

https://www.similarweb.com/website/p2pb2b.io#display
30% of their traffic is referral of which another 50% is from faucets. That must definitely inflate their traffic stats as well.
598  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Share your thought only if you ever took part in this project on: July 09, 2019, 05:53:10 PM
You're talking about SHARPE right?

Looks like they went bust quite a while ago (April 5th (?))

Not entirely sure what happend though. See for yourself @ coinmarketcap, https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/sharpe-platform-token/

It just completely died. Their site too, https://sharpe.capital If you had any money on it i'm pretty sure it's lost.
Unless they merged/moved with another shitcoin, can't find anything about it though.
599  Other / Meta / Re: "Decoded" comprimised on: July 09, 2019, 04:04:53 PM
What was the domain you were using?
"D@mailcrypt.xyz"

That's the email found on his account. Would that be the one been compromised? @decodedalt
I doubt if that's the email because the said email was not hidden at the time of account opening and that's too risking of any senior account or at that even the junior account.
Pretty sure that's the mail considering his email account on his previously staked PGP key is also

Code:
******* **** <***********@mailcrypt.xyz>
(Not sure why i'm censoring it considering it's already public, still, i don't want to be the one doxxing him.)
Quote
If that's truly the email, I will advise the OP to hide the email to avoid hack again, just my 50cent. Let's wait for OP to clear our doubt.
I don't think it's as easy as that to say in most cases. For all we know OP got hacked in a multitude of other ways.
600  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Weonix.net on: July 09, 2019, 03:28:21 PM
If someone activates whois guard protection, usually they got "Panama post office box company" address. If you register a domain and use whois protection, probably you will have the same address. It's not mean anything except that hide the name of the owner.

Anyway, good catch these fake team picture. I think this can be moved to scam accusation board.

Also, I see a new trend here. Newbie asking about some service, for which no one has heard. A newly launched website with "great service" there. So, they got some publicity and who knows, maybe he will persuade someone to use them.
Or they're creating backlinks for their exchange, getting it ranked higher in google (although this is probably not the way to do it.)

I've been wondering the same thing. The only way you find "weonix" is by explicitely typing in "weonix.net" into google. There are no articles about them, no google keywords, nothing except now a bitcointalk thread and their domain.

Either OP's friend is getting scammed with something along the lines of the good old "Hey, this exchange offers X amount of money for you to withdraw, but you need to deposit Y $ yourself first" by someone who PM'd him the link of the exchange on a social media such as reddit,

or OP and his friend are the owner of said site.

It's big brain time anyway.
