601  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will not be able to stay above $30k for 10 consecutive days ever again on: August 02, 2021, 04:32:46 AM
We will see more threads from proudhon such as "Bitcoin will not be able to stay above $100k for 10 consecutive days ever again" or "Bitcoin will not be able to stay above $150k for 10 consecutive days ever again"...blah blah next year ha ha... Smiley Smiley Smiley
I do hope that he/she does because I feel like having a running gag in this forum is pretty good. I do hope that that time does happen that @proudhon would be stoic on his/her claims that the bitcoin price at X isn't going to stay for 10 consecutive days. Has he/she replied on this site thread though?
602  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy Bitcoin and hold it: 180% annual yield on average since the first halving on: August 02, 2021, 03:08:36 AM
Ahh, I just have to hold for 2 more halvings and it's going to be a dream come true. <3
The projection is lovely to look at and even if we know that there would usually be the crashes that we have to consider, still having this positivity until we finally see those 6-7 digits will be the best days of our lives.
I mean, if you manage to do that, I think that you will be able to enjoy maximum profit and if along the way you are also accumulating a lot of bitcoin to increase your portfolio little by little and you take care of yourself so as to not have any health problems that will cause you to prematurely sell your portfolio then you will get what you deserve. And you also have to face the temptations along the way because prices go up each year which might entice you into selling early than your target.
603  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC is growing, great, however it's still extremely cheap! U need diamond hands! on: August 02, 2021, 02:22:54 AM
The rise and fall of the Bitcoin price is difficult to predict. Not only is it volatile, the price of Bitcoin sometimes moves significantly suddenly at unexpected times.
Of course it's difficult to predict, that's why they call it volatility because they know how it's movement is unpredictable. And the way that you described bitcoin moving in unexpected is also volatility.
604  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will not be able to stay above $40K for 10 consecutive days ever again! on: August 01, 2021, 03:31:55 AM
Man, the amount of sarcastic and sardonic comments in this one made some of the users reply seriously. It's okay that you did though, you're still participating in the conversation. I think you are wrong, bitcoin won't be able to touch down 50k again because it's not sustainable under 10k USD.
605  Economy / Speculation / Re: At last at last, bitcoin increase more than $41,000 on: August 01, 2021, 02:03:04 AM
I think the fuss about price is Tesla and Amazon calling out bitcoin once again. Although Amazon tried to change decision but investors are already buying the first news. The volatility is coming up again and not only bitcoin gaining but altcoins too. This is good for the cryptocurrency market and before the year ends with continuous up move, we can see a new ATH.
I think what they're trying to change is the fact that Amazon was attempting a rug pull but it seems that the market is much powerful that they've expected because the prices are still doing just right. I hope that by the end of the year we can bitcoin go up to a really unexpected prices and I do hope that it's a positive one.
606  Economy / Economics / Re: The Role of Government in Crypto on: July 31, 2021, 04:25:42 PM
For me, crypto doesn't need that much support from the government economic wise, I think crypto is already set on that part. I think the role that the government should play is bolstering the support  on crypto in terms of protecting it's users and proactively chasing bad elements that are abusing the system.
607  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's holding back Amazon & eBay from adopting Bitcoin? on: July 31, 2021, 03:17:02 PM
Probably the number of people that are going to use the feature when it's finally added is probably really low and more people will still use fiat because even if they have the payment system, it's not like everyone will be able to use bitcoin so they can use it for payment, plus the company's ego is too big to use a third party that they have no power over.
608  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Amazon Puts Down Bitcoin Use Rumor on: July 31, 2021, 02:03:17 PM
Although Bitcoin will not rely on company development, sooner or later Bitcoin will be used by companies. Bitcoin is still unstable. Many companies feel that there is still a risk, and many whales also want to push up the price of Bitcoin to make profits. Maybe many companies make plans because of the value of Bitcoin. If one company takes the lead in using Bitcoin, other companies will follow suit when they see it. We can only wait patiently and wait quietly for the development of Bitcoin.
Of course it's unstable and volatile but it didn't stop other companies from adopting bitcoin since they still made a lot of big money out of it despite the prices not being volatile, I think the reason why some companies don't want to get in bitcoin is because they still can't find an opportunity that their interest will benefit the most.
609  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: IMF issues veiled warning against El Salvador’s Bitcoin law on: July 31, 2021, 01:27:16 PM
The finally made their move against El Salvador, it's to be expected since they really don't like a nation not going along with what El Salvador is currently doing. I think El Salvador will bduge to this call by the IMF since IMF is an influential organization internationally and they know how to make people move.
610  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: REuters: EU Tighten Rules for Crypto Asset Transfers on: July 31, 2021, 12:48:52 PM
Quote
The law proposed by the European Commission, ..., would apply what is known as the travel rule to crypto transactions to make them traceable.
Is this something that we should worry about since there's a very high possibility that it will pass through the commission because we all know how EU wants to have cryptocurrencies traceable to prevent money laundering or funding of terrorism, of the two I don't think that it's worrying that they use cryptocurrencies since as it is now, most cryptocurrencies can easily be traced.
611  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Getting paid in Bitcoin vs getting paid in Fiat on: July 31, 2021, 12:08:03 PM
I don't think there would be no problem paying in Bitcoin or Fiat as long as they have the consent of the person. I personally liked to get paid in Bitcoin since right now I'm saving as much as many Bitcoin as a personal investment. I know the risk of course but still if they pay me in Fiat I will just buy Bitcoin, so why not pay me in Bitcoin so I would be able to save it and save from spending in transaction fee.
But the problem with that is if the markets in your locality are accepting bitcoin or are still on the traditional side of things which is fiat because that can affect your decision whether you should go for an all bitcoin salary or not. For me I would choose bitcoin as a salary as long as there are nearby places that I can convert my bitcoin much easier.
612  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If it is more convenient for people to buy Bitcoin, will Bitcoin be more popular on: July 31, 2021, 11:30:59 AM
Of course there's more people that will buy and use bitcoin if it's more convenient than what it currently is, it's not like everyone has the technical knowledge to access and use bitcoin as it is because we always have to assume that our clients are much dumber than average.
613  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is Bitcoin worth so much? on: July 31, 2021, 08:58:23 AM
Why is bitcoin so valuable?? my answer is very simple, because bitcoin is the king of all coins, so it is natural that the price is more expensive, bitcoin can also be said to be in limited supply,, the beginning of the emergence of bitcoin is indeed a lot of doubt, but over time, bitcoin grows and many hold bitcoin, After several years of bitcoin's presence, other coins automatically appeared, it can be said that if there is no bitcoin, maybe other coins don't exist either..
That doesn't answer the question though, you are just describing bitcoin for what you think it is which is pretty subjective. For me though, I think the reason is it's utility and it's ability to be used as a means of currency or as an asset.
614  Economy / Speculation / Re: What have changed in BTC price on: July 31, 2021, 08:25:38 AM
There hasn't been any static changes in the price of Bitcoin in the last few days. Price has not being much above $40,000. The price ranges from $37,000 to $40,500 in ẹ recent time. The Bitcoin world may just be waiting for a breakthrough into $42,000 for it to boom again and give us a spectacular rise in price that we all hope to see.
I think more than the changes in the prices, the market has more institutional investors than the last time so there's some changes in the market. You're probably right that after 42k we might see another run but we have to be careful because it's fueled by rumors but it seems it persists even though there's rumors about Amazon.
615  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price is returning to $40K — But will shorts have their revenge? on: July 31, 2021, 05:33:46 AM
I don't think that the shorters will have their way anytime soon because I feel like they're going to have to wait for awhile because the rumor about Amazon was already cleared but the prices are still able to make some movement so I think that they have to wait for some time.
616  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bye Bye Bitcoin on: July 30, 2021, 12:57:18 PM
Terrorism? Are you sure you wanted to write this particular word? It seems to me that this word is most inappropriate in relation to cryptocurrencies.
It's not even remotely related to cryptocurrency because these terrorists that OP is mentioning I assume are all out of touch with technology so there's a really low chance that they are going to use cryptocurrencies to fund their operations plus, fiat works for them really well because it's untraceable and it doesn't leave any paper trail and their gun supplier wants those guns get paid in something that the arms dealer can see and touch.
617  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sen. Elizabeth Warren wants more regulation, doesn't think bitcoin is a hedge on: July 30, 2021, 11:19:14 AM
Politicians are pushing for strict regulations to so called "protect" people from "risky" volatile assets. But yet, people are totally free to take part in lotteries. LOL
That means that if the government doesn't have any stake on it, they won't be supporting those things from existing. I think the reason that this politicians are doing this because some people in some companies probably have asked or loobied these politicians to make regulations that is going to be bad for their competition which is bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.
618  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does the epidemic have a big impact on Bitcoin? on: July 30, 2021, 09:46:14 AM
Yes the pandemic not the epidemic have an impact on bitcoin but it's not as big as you think because there's other bigger news than the pandemic that have impacted bitcoin mauch more, onw example is the Tesla purchase, China banning mining to make way for Digital Yuan and El Salvador's acceptance of bitcoin as a legal tender.
619  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Tokyo Olympics Prediction Awards?? on: July 30, 2021, 09:07:26 AM
Is this some sort of betting because there's an appropriate board for this and I assume that you know that you know how to move the topic. I think it can be further discussed in Gambling Discussion board. I think it's not that new of a thing to do, I mean most players even participate in informal bets like this, one example is the Trump vs Biden presidency.
620  Economy / Speculation / Re: Obvious price push on: July 30, 2021, 07:12:12 AM
Indeed, news and rumors are one of the indicators that make bitcoin prices go up or down. If the news is positive then the price of bitcoin goes up. Regarding the news that Amazon will accept Bitcoin payments by the end of 2021, this is good news that can push bitcoin prices up. as we know that Amazon is a big company. So let's see if Amazon really wants to accept bitcoin payments.
We still have to be careful with this news and rumors though, they are sometimes entirely created to specifically move the market, stock markets do it all the time, some even go underhanded just to short a company so what can be the difference with bitcoin market being influenced by the market trends.
