641  Economy / Economics / Re: what makes us good investors. on: July 28, 2021, 06:47:18 AM
A good investor is the one who wisely picks his investments and creates a clear strategy around them. To invest effectively you must be consistent, prudent and always be ready to follow your strategy without falling into the emotions caused by market news or the news of uninformed friends. And, above all, you must remember that to invest you must always have a long-term horizon; otherwise you are gambling.
I can agree with almost everything except the last part where a good investor can only do long-term, in my opinion, I think short-term can work just fine, but that comes with other problems too since you have some sort of prerequisites but if you are able to get it and curtail daily losses from short-term investments, you can probably make more money from that. Also, an investor has to be patient because without patience, he/she might get the fruit of investment a bit too early.
642  Economy / Economics / Re: Bullish: 'Vast Majority' of Institutions Will Own Crypto by 2026: Fidelity on: July 28, 2021, 06:17:52 AM
That's why it's a must for us institutional investors to buy right now and accumulate more along the way and save enough bitcoin so when the time comes when the surge of institutional investors pouring in their millions and billions in the market, we get to see our portfolio get all the profit that it deserves.
643  Economy / Economics / Re: ECB starts 24 month digital euro project. on: July 28, 2021, 05:17:20 AM
Why they need 24 months for digital euro? Is it so hard to create gov level blockchain?
If you can do it less than a month then do it, there's probably a lot of factors involved in doing this project like scaling, network and integration. I don't think that the project can be any more shorter because they have to be released perfect or at least performing. I don't necessarily agree with them creating their own digital currency because I feel like once it's operational, they will start attacking the decentralized platform like what China did these past few months.
644  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Bitcoin Mining Scam on: July 27, 2021, 02:41:27 PM
The number of these scammers has increased a lot now. They are using telegrams to spread these scams and new investors are falling prey to scams. Using the name bitcoin mining will increase people's interest and send them money to buy packages. Although this tactic is old,but scammers are still using it.

A friend of mine has been scammed by such a bitcoin mining scammer. So I know this scamming strategy of scammers works.
That's because crypto is still getting prominent and it's still hasn't reached that many people yet so they can still deceive people from a lot of places. I do send new MO of scams that comes from this forum and the news I read to my friends because I know that it can help a lot for them to prevent themselves from getting scammed.
645  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: trading needs consistent attention and full concentration on: July 27, 2021, 02:01:54 PM
That's why this isn't for everyone since not everyone have a good time allowance to do because some have other side hustles besides trading but I don't think that it has to be consistent all throughout because once you get a grip and feel of what to do in trading, you will be able to know what to do and you don't have to be on it all the time.
646  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ethics of boxing and gambling on: July 27, 2021, 01:01:08 PM
For me, etbics in boxing doesn't really apply, I mean it's a sport and if you are a fundamental and strong opposition of violence then it will be a problem since people love bloodsports and many will be upset because they didn't have their animalistic impulses appeased because someone mentions the ethics of this contact sports.
647  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it easier to HODL if you are already rich? on: July 27, 2021, 12:09:43 PM
Of course it's easier to hodl when you are rich, you don't have any worries if your capital is experiencing loss and the market is going down since you have other ways to make money or you just have a lot of money in the first place. Although I feel like it's not only the rich can do that because I know some people that didn't come from a regal background but they can hodl like a madman. Probably sheer will and patience is what's different between a rich hodler and a poor one.
648  Economy / Economics / Re: If you can get paid through cryptocurrency, do you still choose fiat currency? on: July 27, 2021, 10:35:46 AM
I choose to make my employer happy and follow his preference, if he insist paying in crypto, I'm fine. If he prefers fiat, I'm fine too. Nowadays, converting crypto to fiat (and vice versa) is easy, no big deal.

However, if I can pick one is good for me atm, I think crypto since I gamble a lot because of stupid lockdown. In normal condition, I'd pick fiat since it's easier to spend.
But what if it's a mandatory though? Will accept it? For me, I might have some problem with that since I have to be able to use those salary to pay for my rent and it's not that easy to convert crypto to fiat which might be a problem for some people since time is of the essence. Maybe if the speed of conversion or if there are more people that are using it, I would probably totally accept it.
649  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Oscar Valdez vs Robson Conceicao - Sept 10th on: July 27, 2021, 10:00:25 AM
Many are really disappointed about moving down of class of Valdez just to defend his title against Conceicao, who still needs to accomplish a thing after 4 years of being a pro boxer, But after seeing this I think that Conceicao needs to prove himself to the people, and because many are pretty much one-sided by this and all were in favor with Oscar Valdez and many are predicting that this could be a TKO win for Valdez, that is why Robson Conceicao really needs to prove himself and prove that the hype are all wrong.
A one sided match is a big burden for Robson to bear because no matter which happens to him, many will scorn him. What I mean by that is that if he wins against the favorite then he will be booed off by some of the supporters and if he loses he will be buried down by trash talks by the rabid and toxic supporters. Add that to the fact that he still has to prove himself.
650  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motivated by "breaking the code" on: July 27, 2021, 08:46:35 AM
for the most people that was just an expression when they say they can beat the hell out of it or break its code but for a real hackers ,
they can literaly break the code of that machine or a gambling site if the code or the software was written poorly but it can happen on any types of games not only in slots  .
they are desperate and they do anything in order to make a revenge  . we need to have a control in gambling before we end up like this
Have seen this show called Ozark where they used an exploit to know when will the slots hit the jackpot, they're trying to destroy another casino because they want to buy that casino so they did that. Although I think that breaking the slot machines is close to impossible now because they developed ways to prevent those attacks.
651  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sexy casinos on: July 27, 2021, 08:07:05 AM
I think that their a bit over the top because you have greed and lust in your establishment and I think that that kind of business destroys marriages more than anything especially if the sexy casinos have their own escort services where patrons can ask for their services no questions asked.
Come on man, just because someone is attracted to a young lady doesn't mean his marriage will be destroyed. I mean we all are attracted towards someone but that doesn't mean we will file a divorce and marry the girl. That's just too much, I am not saying whether being attracted by a female at casinos is a good thing or not but it shouldn't be a reason for marriages being destroyed.

I haven't played too much at real casinos lately because of the pandemic and hence I don't even remember when was the last time I got attracted towards a girl at the casino and if you think if I am attracted to the girls in the online casinos, the answer is a strict No!
Knowing modern day woman, I don't think that they're going to like it that we are saying that there's a girl much more attractive than them or even remotely complimenting them, women nowadays are egotistic and psychopath that wants to emasculate men. Yes they they they're powerful but do these women know how to raise a kid or be a homemaker. So yeah, I don't think it's too much to say the least that a little glance and this girls in revealing clothing is going to cost you your relationship especially if that woman you have a relationship is what I am describing.
652  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Esports Prediction & Discussion Thread on: July 27, 2021, 07:27:33 AM
Try Valorant! Stage 3 challengers are happening right now and I'm wondering why VALORANT isn't included in the OP because it's the mainstream game right now and a lot of tournaments happened recently. Even the popular streamers of twitch are playing Valorant and having watch party on VCT Challengers 2 and now I'm waiting for VALORANT Champions Tour 2021: North America Stage 3 Challengers Playoffs. and next is the VCT Berlin Masters! A lot of tournaments are waiting so I hope that those popular platforms mentioned have VALORANT bettings.
Valorant is a potential big sport that's going to be hopefully be on par with the success of CS:GO but I still have this inkling feeling that Valorant in my opinion is just a rip off of Overwatch which has a pretty good tournaments but Blizzard is just too stupid to keep up the hype and take care of the game now it's not popular.
653  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Combination of gambling and trading on: July 27, 2021, 06:53:24 AM
Bro, if you are gambling too much and you think it's time consuming then it's not a hobby anymore. It was suppose to relieve your stress and not add further problem for you. Now trading, it's different. You might want to not combine them at the same time or else you might confuse your gambling habits risking more money at the process.
Try to identify where you are really good at then focus on it and lesser time with the least of your choice.
For me, it's not healthy to combine this two because you won't know until it happens when you become so addicted that your trading is affected because you involuntarily think that you are still gambling and in turn make the wrong decisions. @danherbias07 is right, combining won't get you anywhere although I disagree that we should identify where we are good at when we can just completely remove gambling to further focus on trading.
654  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Weekly/monthly financial statements, which do you prefer? on: July 26, 2021, 02:27:02 PM
My activities in gambling are not really that big, so I don't need to track my transactions on a daily basis or a weekly basis, I'm okay with monthly tracking but in reality, I never did that as I'm not into gambling in terms of making money, I'm more on the entertainment value, with that said, I'm spending money in gambling as I have more loses than my winnings.
I would go for a monthly too because it's not like you are going to spend every waking day in a month just gambling, and I think that it's practical to do that more than the weekly because you will be primed to spend more money gambling when you are involving yourself with financial stuff regarding your gambling expenses.
655  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Should online gambling companies be responsible for harm related activities? on: July 26, 2021, 01:23:38 PM
If the gambling operator is responsible for the addicted gamblers  ?then surely they are all closed by now because government will run towards them about the effect of gambling and the addicted has someone to blame then .
Exactly, it's just like cigarette companies and manufacturers, they might give you graphic warnings but they will never intervene with you because you are their money maker and that's the limit of what they can do or so they say. Same with gambling, if people are addicted, that's not on the manager to stop them to care for the well being of their clients.
656  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling ombudsman - do you feel protected? on: July 26, 2021, 12:44:40 PM
Of course I would play more if I know that I could contest a claim when I am done wrong but that contesting should be fair for both sides. Plus, with a gambling ombudsman you can be sure that as a customer, you can't be screwed over by the business.
657  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Anything like excess gambling on: July 26, 2021, 10:16:24 AM
I think it still has something to do with the character of each of us, sometimes it often happens, but there are also those who can manage their finances well even though they often touch gambling. And yeah, the level of addiction to gambling can also affect whether we will excess in gambling or not, I think it's better if we can control ourselves more with other activities besides gambling.
That's another level of discipline if you ask me regarding the way that people controls their habit of gambling even though it's designed to be addicting. In my opinion, being excessive with gambling is obviously a bad thing but there are ways to prevent this kind of thing from happening.
658  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The houses always win, are you the house or the gambler? on: July 26, 2021, 09:26:30 AM
One way to win against the house is by not playing, you don't win or lose but ultimately, they don't win against you since they didn't get any of your money. I would say that I am more of a gambler more than the house because the house is a small circle and not everyone belongs in it.
659  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: is this a good divide? thanks on: July 26, 2021, 08:38:09 AM
With your age , You have done a good thing to put your money on cryptocurrency I commend you on that. I want to suggest to you that since you have a long way in life and you may not have a rush to sell or urgent need for money, you can invest in cheap coins with nice volume and hodl for long term. Stellar, curio, cartesi can be a good choice.
At that age, I would still be playing outside not caring about my future but this person is lucky because he/she have the opportunity to invest early and I think that OP can benefit from it since OP has more time compared to any of us here. I don't necessarily agree with putting your capital in a split because I believe that you can make more money with enough patience if you focus on only one cryptocurrency, bitcoin is the best choice for me but in the end that's on you on how you are going to approach this, you will get the profit not us.
660  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why newbies lose huge money in trading on: July 26, 2021, 08:02:52 AM
One of the big Problem of newbie is that he did not understand whales game and when market down he start panic sell.
Imagine that one guy that cleared their BTC at 28k or that guy that cleared all their ETH at 1700?
can already buy back in for less coin now.

I think even if a newbie just learns how to be patient and roll with the punches regarding the whales, it would be enough even if the whales make big waves. What I mean to say is that being immune to panic is going to be enough for some newbie to lose their investments even if the movements in the market is unfavorable.
