741  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Better than "GOLD" for criminals, BTC is easier to steal; Easier to scam; on: July 16, 2021, 08:58:31 AM
I don't think that it's easy to do that anymore, remember that scammers have already been caught by the authorities even though they used bitcoin as a form of ransom for their attack. I wouldn't say that bitcoin is the gold for criminals, I think the privacy coins are the more likely candidate to be called a gold for criminals but even that isn't safe anymore because organizations and tech firms are trying to destroy them by trying to find patterns.
742  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin ever become a widely adopted global payment solution? on: July 16, 2021, 08:23:34 AM
Yes because that's the one true goal of bitcoin in the first place, to be a payment option that removes third-party to decrease payment and provide privacy to online channels. It will probably take a long time before it can be realized though because countries are still on the fence on what to do with cryptocurrencies which is a good thing for the people because most of them won't be taxed for earning in cryptocurrency.
743  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Crypto bans are temporary, we are on the right side of history. on: July 16, 2021, 07:49:46 AM
I also think that these cryptocurrency bans are just temporary. China is a good example for it. They banned cryptocurrencies before but started letting people use them after. Now, they banned the cryptos again. But I don't think this will be permanent also. Eventually, they will let this again. Because I don't think that people will stop using cryptocurrencies still.
Really depends on who is the current head of the administration because if they were to put a leader that is more open to new technology including cryptocurrencies, then there's a likely chance that they will unban the cryptocurrency, also worth mentioning that if there's enough success stories and studies about cryptocurrency, this prohibitions will eventually be lifeted, OP's title is right, we are on the right side of history.
744  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Security risk on: July 16, 2021, 07:03:47 AM
They have more risk since they operate on a decentralized level and they don't exactly have any government backing them so they have a hard time protecting themselves from attacks so all they can do is just to create a much secure site than ever.
745  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: WHICH COUNTRIES COULD FOLLOW EL SALVADOR BY MAKING BITCOIN LEGAL TENDER? on: July 15, 2021, 12:46:02 PM
Probably the big countries like Russia, USA or China because they have the influence and the population to really make a big difference in the market whether it's good or bad, it doesn't matter.

Aren’t you aware that China banned crypto trading a few years ago and recently completely banned crypto mining? Don't you know that Russia is not a very democratic country, and Bitcoin is not something they want as a legal tender - because they need instruments to control people. In the end, do you think the US would ever admit that there is something better or at least about as good as their dollar? Your opinion that these countries will follow the example of El Salvador has no logic - these are the countries that will fight the most against such political decisions.
Of course I am aware but I am trying to weigh in the countries that will make bitcoin more relevant and influential and this nuclear powers are going to be the biggest ones if they were to hypothetically accept bitcoin as a legal tender. I mean OP didn't exactly have any criteria for the next country to accept bitcoin as a legal tender so I might as well go choose the most influential right?
746  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My Past two months bitcoin journey on: July 15, 2021, 12:09:20 PM
It might not look like it's a lot of money but if you think about it for a second, OP bought those bitcoin at a low price compared to the current all time high price. Meaning that it will only go up in the future if OP continues to hodl and accumulate more bitcoin. I am inspired by this because I really want to spend 1200 USD for something but I don't have a job so I can't steadily invest in bitcoin.
747  Other / Archival / Re: Brief History of Bitcoin Adoption on: July 15, 2021, 11:33:24 AM
Too bad that I only know about bitcoin back in 2013 but never got curious enough to do some research about it although I don't have much technical knowledge back then and I don't have money to buy my own bitcoin back then and I was still in 8th grade and playing games is the biggest priority back then. I think that the image accompanying the post is a pretty good one because it basically tells how stupid people are for doubting how bitcoin works and how it can change their lives.
748  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: First time paying in person with bitcoin: Computer Heads on: July 15, 2021, 09:37:59 AM
What an interesting and meaningful experience. You talk about encryption-related topics with like-minded people, and you also introduce Bitcoin to others, so that more people can learn about it and realize its importance. Few people around me know and use Bitcoin. If I meet someone interested in cryptocurrency in the future, I will introduce Bitcoin to them so that more people can realize its value.
That would've been more impressive if these people aren't like minded but are open to new things. It's pretty cool that they will be suddenly interested. I think that the only way for more business to acknowledge bitcoin is for an extensive campaign to teach and inform about cryptocurrencies. Knowledge and information is a great way to destroy ignorance that's plaguing the world right now. I do introduce people too but I only tell them the basics and the risks and let them do their own research because it's better if they learn it first hand.
749  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin completes value transmission, how to perfectly avoid criminal ? on: July 15, 2021, 08:49:45 AM
Contrary to popular belief, bitcoin is the favorite cryptocurrency of the FBI AML team because it's a pseudonymous meaning that you're only anonymous in the ledger but not when you are spending it.
750  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: WHICH COUNTRIES COULD FOLLOW EL SALVADOR BY MAKING BITCOIN LEGAL TENDER? on: July 15, 2021, 08:15:20 AM
Probably the big countries like Russia, USA or China because they have the influence and the population to really make a big difference in the market whether it's good or bad, it doesn't matter. We can also benefit if other small countries that are a tax haven can make bitcoin a legal tender because that's more profit for them and for everyone using their country as a tax haven.

Russia had already rejected the Dollar which the currencies they only use for trading these days are EUR, Rubble, and Yuan. I think they may not be using Bitcoin any moment. The country is richer and most likely Putin can get away with initiating dedollarization in their country. China as we know had its own Digital yuan.

We can see how every country reacts to inflation coming from the printing of USD and Bukele's action is just one. Cuba is I think will also respond the same way. It's going to start with countries from Central America.
That's why I said that they have the biggest influence because they won't outright accept bitcoin as a legal tender. Hopefully, you are right that Central America will follow suit with implementing bitcoin as a legal tender although with their low population, I think that they won't be that influential in the market unlike if Asian countries like Russia, China and Singapore does the same thing.
751  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is cryptocurrency bad for the environment? on: July 15, 2021, 07:32:32 AM
How is it exactly baad for the environment though? I mean there's no physical thing involved in cryptocurrency, it's just a consumer of electricity, even though it consumes a lot, that doesn't mean that it's going to destroy the environment, the key word is consumer meaning that cryptocurrencies are just like households, they consume energy but they don't produce any. Remember that what we should be focusing on is the producers of electricity because they are the reason for the destruction of the environment.

753  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 2,371 people abducted in Nigeria in first half of 2021 on: July 15, 2021, 06:00:14 AM
this is very inhumane what the criminal did with his crime, then the police must immediately intervene to solve the problem, because this should not happen in any country including Nigeria, then they must be as fast as possible to catch the perpetrators so that they can be punished according to the rules in force in the country, what's more, this is a major crime and can cause the loss of human life
The police wants to intervene but the problem is that this kidnap for ransom group are armed to the teeth meaning that if they were to fight back, it will get bloody and people that was the hostage will be killed defeating the purpose of rescuing the kidnapped people. It's indeed inhuman but we have to address other problems too, which is the poverty that leads to this people from doing this and the security of the places.
754  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Future money! on: July 14, 2021, 01:46:54 PM
We need an alternative to fiat, but so far there is nothing that completely suits me.
What do you mean that there's nothing yet that suits you? i mean I am pretty sure that bitcoin is a great alternative to fiat because it's been used for trading already so I don't get why there's not a coin that suits your needs.
755  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi logo (my proposal) on: July 14, 2021, 01:09:26 PM
I don't get what's the point of logo to be honest because it's just a unit of measurement for the size of bitcoin. You should've made a reason first or a rationale as to why we need a Satoshi logo because it seems that you can't convince people yet to get on with the logo.
756  Other / Archival / Re: Bitcoin Retrospective for 2020 on: July 14, 2021, 10:10:39 AM
2020 was an eventful year for the bitcoin market as the price touched its lowest since 2017, but again when other stocks were down because of the covid-19 pandemic, Bitcoin could still gain mainstream adoption and institutional investors with visa cards and PayPal co-operation it paved the way to what we have seen in Bitcoin price this year 2021.
We've been saying that for a long time now, that bitcoin is going to be on the mainstream anytime soon and I don't think that it's going to happen this year even though El Salvador did a trending thing where they made bitcoin a legal tender.
Let's see how events will develop at the end of the year. Many believe that by this time Bitcoin will try to storm ath again, and maybe even break it. If on New Year's Eve the price is about $50 000, I will be incredibly happy, although I am preparing for less joyful prospects. In any case, if bitcoin is worth more than $20 000, I will be in a good profit.

But then I will continue to accumulate bitcoin and wait for better times. I don't want to repeat the mistakes of 2017-2018, selling all bitcoin for next to nothing.
I think bitcoin is going to be do a one last pump this year even at one month left before 2022, I hope that it does pump up before the end of the year.
757  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin’s time is now on: July 14, 2021, 08:47:14 AM
Bitcoin is now considered as the gold of cryptocurrencies, it is no longer called shitcoin as it was in the early years of its birth. BTC is now a payment currency of many countries, which is quite popular, but the price of BTC will increase much in the future. The current era is the technology age of BTC.
Nobody considered bitcoin a shitcoin back then, a lot of people saw potential and those that doubt bitcoin didn't call it shitcoin, that term was later coined when the emergence of different altcoins started. I think that the time of bitcoin has already started a long time ago and we have been enjoying the bounties of bitcoin.
758  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is your Average Bitcoin Buying Price? on: July 14, 2021, 07:58:09 AM
Currently the bitcoin price is $33k but i like to buy it at a range of $10k-$25k. Even i can say that if it comes below 20 then at a price of $19k i will prefer it more and will buy at this range, which will be better for me.
Why be squeamish when you can go much lower than that I mean there's still a chance that bitcoin could go back to 4 figures prices this year even though there's no clear for doing that but we all know that it's possible because of bitcoin's volatility. For me though, I would probably have bitcoin go at any 4 digit figure before I buy because I want to make the most out of my capital because if it ever goes down to that point, I am sure that the surge in prices is going to be much bigger.
759  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: British police seize $408 million and arrest woman aged 39 on: July 14, 2021, 07:24:24 AM
I don't know why the British police didn't mention the name of the woman they arrested or the cryptocurrencies they seized, they should have explained this information more accurately!!! In any case, I think that they will fill the world with noise because of cryptocurrencies because the first charge they are trying to attach to cryptocurrencies is money laundering, so this case will be a very good opportunity for them.
Probably because the investigation is still ongoing so they don't have to worry that the public will get in when the investigation is still on the way and until they find everything that they need to have the damning evidences presented. I think that not revealing the name is a standard procedure for many police around the world.
760  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I rather stay hungry than sell my Bitcoin on: July 14, 2021, 06:49:02 AM
So basically what you are saying is that you are greedy and that you value money that won't be of any use to you when you are starving. Remember that before anything else, it should be your health that is your priority because what's the point of having a lot of money when you are dying or are already dead?
