6521  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Grin Observer - GRN/BTC - Price Movement and Discussion on: July 08, 2019, 01:16:31 AM
@Cryptotourist. We do not know. It would be very hard to speculate when without mentioning Grin's monetary policy and design. I reckon you should prepare to jump from a cliff hehehe.
6522  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-07-05] This Bitcoin money-laundering cartel was operating inside a prison on: July 08, 2019, 12:54:04 AM
@buwaytress. It is easier. Money laundering requires buying something to sell back, like paintings, stocks or a house. Bitcoin and altcoins has made it easier because the market is liquid and cryptocoins are very easy to move, keep and store.
6523  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Grin Observer - GRN/BTC - Price Movement and Discussion on: July 07, 2019, 02:09:56 AM
@Febo. If they become no.1 and 2, I reckon no exchange would have a choice but to list them. Coinbase would be killed out of business if Brian Armstrong runs it with his pride hehehe.
6524  Economy / Speculation / Re: Where's FOMO at? Tom Lee on: July 07, 2019, 01:45:35 AM
@freedomgo. If it did not move then it will not double in market capitalization hehehe.

Look at Ethereum's chart versus the dollar. It has touched its support on December and the price in fiat has been increasing slowly after that. You cannot deny that it is bullish, but less volatile than bitcoin for now, however.
6525  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-07-05] This Bitcoin money-laundering cartel was operating inside a prison on: July 07, 2019, 01:14:47 AM
@ETFbitcoin. Not anymore, yes. However, money launderers will only become better to evade the law, and I speculate that they might begin slowly moving their volume to Monero and decentralized exchanges and over the counter trading.
6526  Economy / Speculation / Re: Where's FOMO at? Tom Lee on: July 06, 2019, 03:27:15 AM
@pooya87. I said to check the prices in fiat, however. From your example, Ethereum has almost doubled market capitalization in fiat. That is bullish.
6527  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Manny Pacquiao vs Keith Thurman on July 20 on: July 06, 2019, 03:01:27 AM
A few days back, there was an article in the Forbes explaining why the odds have become better for Manny Pacquiao. You can access the article for free here:

https://www.forbes.com/sites/brianmazique/2019/07/01/why-manny-pacquiao-has-surged-in-latest-odds-and-is-now-the-favorite-over-keith-thurman/

Many of the betting sites think that the fight will be very close and there is a realistic chance that Manny will be able to KO Keith Thurman. Meanwhile Freddie Roach (trainer of Manny) has guaranteed a knockout against Thurman.

Sometimes it is a hidden injury during training that insiders have heard of that causes a big adjustment in odds similar to this. I reckon this is strange if this was Manny's fans making big bets on him this early. It usually occurs 1 or 2 days before the fight.
6528  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-07-04] Bitcoin Hashrate Records Another All-time High Level on: July 06, 2019, 01:55:43 AM
@gentlemand. Why? To get more clicks hehe. The incompetent and corrupt media news sites sensationalize the news and skew the facts to make more money. The days of real investigative journalism are almost gone, I reckon. Everything these days are fake news and clickbaits.
6529  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-07-05] This Bitcoin money-laundering cartel was operating inside a prison on: July 06, 2019, 01:29:33 AM
This will happen over and over again , but think about how many of these operations a day is carried out with fiat

The mainstream media still want to paint Bitcoin as a currency of the scamsters and criminals, although the latest data indicates that usage of Bitcoin for illegal purposes have come down from 7% in 2013 to less than 1% in 2019. 99% of the Bitcoin transactions are being used for legal purposes and the mainstream media never highlights it.

However, look how easy money laundering has become without the use of banks because of the cryptospace. You also cannot deny that what we thought was legitimate bitcoin transactions and trades might also be part of a money laundering ring similar to what BTCe has done.
6530  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: July 05, 2019, 04:03:13 AM
I'm also excited to see how Ben Askren would fare here. He had a good debut against a very tough opponent and a former champion.

Agreed. Jorge also dislikes Ben Askren because of Ben's trolling during interviews hehe. Another fun fact for this fight is Robbie Lawler and Jorge are teammates in American Top Team in Florida.

@Ronnie. Also agreed on Jan Blachowicz versus Luke Rockhold.

@eaLiTy. Conor will not return to the octagon without his shares in the UFC as part of payment.
6531  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Manny Pacquiao vs Keith Thurman on July 20 on: July 05, 2019, 03:21:16 AM
@darklus123. All the sportsbooks follow the same course, similar to all the cryptocoin exchanges follow each other.

In any case, Manny Pacquiao is 1.75 on Cloudbet. Sportsbet might have been slow in adjusting their odds. I reckon take the opportunity and bet there immediately hehehe.
6532  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-07-04] Bitcoin Hashrate Records Another All-time High Level on: July 05, 2019, 02:56:44 AM
It was only 8 months ago that the mainstream news media and bitcoin news media were in excitement in creating articles of the bitcoin death spiral. Look at what these corrupt and incompetent fools are making us read now.
6533  Bitcoin / Press / [2019-07-05] This Bitcoin money-laundering cartel was operating inside a prison on: July 05, 2019, 02:34:12 AM
This might be a clickbait article, the offenders mentioned does not appear to be a cartel hehe. However, it reveals that it is not hard to use cryptocoins for money laundering, which strengthens my argument that there is a highly advanced global money laundering ring utilizing the cryptospace.

Authorities in Florida have busted an elaborate operation which saw prison inmates use Bitcoin BTC to launder thousands of dollars via their commissary accounts.

An investigation by Pasco County Sherriff’s Deputies revealed how inmates at the county jail were having money deposited into their commissary accounts using stolen credit cards.

“These identities that were compromised by an unknown mean [sic], were purchased via the dark web through Bitcoin,” said Detective Anthony Cardillo.

6534  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-05-21] Bitfinex Argues Why Judge Should Dismiss NYAG Case in Latest Case on: July 04, 2019, 02:25:36 AM
News update.

Bitfinex has begun paying their loan to Tether. I reckon what the New York attorney general's office should do is more gross overreach and find the money processor and its bank partners that held Bitfinex users' funds hehehe.

Bitfinex is pleased to announce that on July 1, 2019, it repaid $100,000,000 of the outstanding loan facility to Tether. Bitfinex made this payment in fiat wired to Tether’s bank account. This amount was not yet due to be paid to Tether under the facility, but Bitfinex has made the prepayment based upon its financial position at the end of the second quarter of 2019.

Also on July 1st, Bitfinex fully prepaid all interest accrued under the loan facility to Tether up to the end of day on June 30, 2019, also in fiat.

Wow, what a race of Verstappen yesterday in the F1! Brilliant but risky move, but it turned out OK.
And he is just 21 years old, the future of F1 is in his hands (together with Leclerc)

Hopefully, he didn't get any penalty for the overcome over Leclerc.
It would be unfair if something like that would happen, but still Ferrari fans write posts about FIA. They were blaming Hamilton and they stated that FIA was supporting Mercedes, but what would they say now? That FIA is supporting Red bull?
They just have to deal with the bad strategy that Ferrari follows in all races.

The FIA should let drivers be drivers and should not excessively interfere in all the incidents in the race and sometimes out of the race. This sport is so boring and has become a playground for politics because of them.

In any case, the FIA made the right decision.
6536  Economy / Speculation / Re: Where's FOMO at? Tom Lee on: July 04, 2019, 01:24:13 AM
It’s a well known fact in the crypto market that altcoins typically have their bull market moment after bitcoin has finished its course.

actually the "fact" has always been that altcoins get pumped when bitcoin is stable. simply because traders can't make the same amount of profit from a stable market so they invest their time temporarily in altcoins to pump them.
otherwise when bitcoin bull market ends it always ends with a bubble (like $20k) and that is followed by a bubble burst  which then causes altcoin dumps.

However, if you check some of the top 100 altcoin's prices in fiat, they are also bullish. But only not as volatile as bitcoin, however. Tom Lee might only be speculating that this might change soon because altcoins have normally been more volatile during bull or bear markets.
6537  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-07-02] Bitcoin Criminals Set to Spend $1 Billion on Dark Web This Year on: July 04, 2019, 12:58:29 AM
So, the entire big scary dark web will attract $1B dollars... so that's a whole HALF percent of the total illegal drug trade in 2019 so far (https://www.worldometers.info/drugs/)? How pathetic that drugs, porn and weapons, and assassins and hackers... can't even get their act together to get a fraction of the industry reliant on cash and banks to keep the wheels pumping.

Shame on you, Bitcoin. You had 11 years and this is how you help the dark web criminals?

This whole half of a percent will only grow more as more people adopt the cryptospace for their needs. Maybe we might also see unstoppable smart contracts in the darknet within 10 years. Blame Vitalik hehehe.
6538  Economy / Gambling / Re: Cloudbet | Bitcoin Casino & Sportsbook | The No.1 Bitcoin Gambling Site on: July 03, 2019, 04:01:54 AM
@Ronnie. The Game of Thrones' hard sell on Cloudbet might be because of the high minimum stake. I reckon it might have been better if it had been lowered to make it more affordable for everyone.

Quote
Coinbase CEO Bryan Armstrong tweeted a video with a grin sticker in it, leading to lots of speculation about a possible future listing.
To me it just looks like someone has great taste in laptop stickers, that’s all. ツ

https://grinnews.substack.com/p/55-grin-20-

He is invested in Electric Coin Company that gets 20% of all Zcash created. So I highly doubt he will want to list anything to Coinbase that eats his lunch.   Other hand, that tax ends next year, but they already talk about new coin, so that way they might just prolong it. Smiley

However, it would be contradictory if Brian Armstrong does not list something that is evidently a future top 10 cryptocoin.

The people who want Grin, that would have traded it in Coinbase, can easily go to another exchange.
6540  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-07-02] Bitcoin Criminals Set to Spend $1 Billion on Dark Web This Year on: July 03, 2019, 02:27:56 AM
That proves strict regulation on cryptocurrency only could annoy regular user & stop lesser criminal, while other criminal are smart to use cryptocurrency without use exchange/services which could de-anonymize/freeze their funds.

I'm more interested to see privacy-focused cryptocurrency usage on darknet, if chainalysis could do it Roll Eyes

Agreed. Also, the article mentioned that the 2nd popular cryptocoin used in the darknet is Monero. I assume they said that based on acceptance in the darknet, not from blockchain analysis hehehe.

They are misinterpreting the data in that chart. There was a spike in spending in 2017, because the Bitcoin and other Crypto currency price was at a ATH. <People spend more Crypto currencies, when the price is high>

So as the price declined, people spend less Crypto currencies on the DarkNet. Also remember that Bitcoin is not exactly ideal for DarkNet activities, because it is not as anonymous as other Crypto currencies like Monero and Dash for instance.

How much money is spend on the DarkNet with stolen credit cards? I guess that would never be revealed, because the Banks and governments would hide those facts... right.  Tongue
Aside from the misinterpretation of the year 2017 chart, bitcoin was not the only coin used as payment on darknet I think the purpose was to  target bitcoin through the creation of FUD for only the newbie of the darknet web site will still continue to use bitcoin as their payment despite all the claim which was said about tumbler site this and for bitcoin not been totally anonymous.

I reckon there is no fud in the article. However, the skeptical me says that there is some promotion paid for by Chainalysis hehehe.
