661  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Does it make sense to spend this money on these GPUs? on: August 11, 2021, 10:37:49 AM
I have some orders I'm trying to complete and I want to know if they are worth it or there are other ways to get them cheaper

1. Icolorful gtx1660 super @ 429$ in bulk
2. RTX 3060 @ 800$
3. RTX 3060ti @ 1200$ Non LHR confirmed
4. GTX 1660 Ti @ 462$

Will be waiting for your replies

Of course not. Your ROI will be around 1 or 2 years for real per card. If you planning let it run for the next 4 years or so than you can buy cards for more than the double price. Wait for the bear market next year and start buying cards.

At the moment i get used 2060 Super or 2070 Super for around 350 - 400€. I think this is a better deal.
662  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: LHR GPU user opt in on: August 11, 2021, 10:22:50 AM
I'm only making 4.7$ on my rtx3070ti mining kawpow (Ravencoin) that's pretty bad right? But what if ravencoin grows higher in price I'm sure LHR or Not won't matter anymore to people, I have a friend who just build a 3060 farm and he doesn't even care if they are LHR or not lol, 🤣🤣 anyways that's that pls kindly drop your LHR kawpow hashrate and settings if u can and also what do you have to say about LHR GPU future? Do you think a fix will come?

What is your hashrate? What miner you are using? What OC? Depends on your settings.

rtx3070ti are always LHR version, there are no other version out. Same for the 3060.

You can use miniZ to mine ETH with a 3060 at around 40mh.
663  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Important of Gen2 on gigabyte motherboard on: August 10, 2021, 12:37:35 PM
I just want to share my experience on here for people who might be new to crypto mining, I spent hours on trying to find what could be wrong with a motherboard day ago, if you are using a gigabyte motherboard or planning to don't waste time here are what I noticed will be a challenge for you

1. Without changing gen to gen 2 you will have problem

Imagine loading up windows and everything start acting weird once you connect more than on GPU on board, crashes and lagging here and there, the fix is gen 2 activation

2. You using a new model GPU like RTX series? They can start getting abnormally hot for no reason if you use the two pcie 16x slot which was meant for SLI/Crossfire, the fix is still the gen 2 and if you have 3070ti make sure another 3070ti goes into the second SLI/Crossfire slot, don't insert gtx card in one and RTX card in the other

This could sound weird as it was to me buy gen 2 solves my problem, mind you I have other motherboards that are presently mining with none of this issues, this is my first rodeo that's why I decide to share, who knows? Might help someone

I donīt understand why people change the pcie to gen1. This is not needed, in any case. You can always stay on the highest pcie generation. And this has nothing to do with gigabyte mainboard. You using an very old mainboard and that is the problem.
SLI is not supported by the rtx cards, so it donīt care what slot you are using.
664  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Help confirm if this is LHR GPU or not on: August 09, 2021, 11:39:57 AM
I think this is LHR card, the normal hashrate from a rtx3070ti should be over 80MH and that betterhash isn't real because that 69MH will drop and time goes on, probably in few minutes, you can try installing driver 460 if it's a LHR card the driver won't detect your GPU

Every 3070ti is a LHR version.
665  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: lolMiner 1.31: miner for Eth, Beam, Ergo and many more... on: August 06, 2021, 11:20:05 AM

It happens on all miners with the 5700 and old HiveOS version...
Install HiveOS with Kernel 5.4.0-hiveos #108, as I see you have a very old Driver AMD 20.20 the most stable is 20.40 that hasn't go a memory bug lead with the 5700xt.
If you take the last image realase of update inside HiveOS you will avoid that Free Ram that you have :-)

It was solved on this realease:

0.6-190linux
2021-01-08
LINUX SYSTEM IMAGE
New Stable branch
Hive Linux client: v0.6-190@201106
Universal boot mode: BIOS | UEFI
Linux kernel: v5.4.80-hiveos
Drivers version: AMD v20.40, Nvidia: v455.45.01
Universal image with "support from the box" AMD Polaris/Vega/Navi and Nvidia 10xx/16xx/20xx/30xx

Its not possible, i was using TRM for at least 3-4 months and after that 1 month PM without any memory problems. It started when i changed to lolMiner.
And if i change back to TRM, there is no problem with memory. It shows 6.6gb free ram all the time. (And if you havent noticed its RAM not VRAM)

(5.8gb now :-) )

But i can try to update that driver when i visit the mining site. Last time i tried 20.4, it didnt work, cant remember which card didn't show up.

and thanks for advice.

Driver 20.20 has a memory leak... is not miner depence.  Just update and you will have all solved... but update your complete image to 5.4.0-hiveos #108 the last avaliable in website. You will continue having all the same copying the rig.conf ☺

Updated driver to 20.40 and it broke everything, no OC or fan control on RX5600 and RX5700 -> Big problems with over heating... Now back at 20.20, everything working again, added auto restart every week for miner so no more problem Smiley
With 20.20 also hashrate higher and lower power consumption on RX570 and RX580.

I hope you update the image of HiveOS soon as I said you  Smiley then all will go perfectly ... meanwhile you will continue having the autoreboot when free memory ends...

Now i updated to new image and everything is working well, thank you. Also noticed on same visit rx570 fan was failing. Bad quality fan from XFX, only 6 months old and already failing. Sad
I also Tested lolMiner, TRM and PM for hashrates. (2xRX580,RX5700,RX5600,RX570.)
lolMiner gives total 183Mh/s
TRM gives total 186Mh/s thanks to RX5700 which gives 56Mh/s vs lolMiner 53Mh/s.
PM gives total 186Mh/s thanks to better hash on Polaris (RX580/RX570), 31Mh/s vs 30Mh/s. I know that PM is said to cheat on Hashrate and also uses little bit more power.

--> No big difference between miners... Smiley

Great news that the update worked 😀...

You should need a bit more core  on Navi to get more hash... also remember 0.7% Fee in lolMiner vs 1% TRM

183 *0,993 = 181,719mh with lolminer
186 *0,99 = 184,14mh with trm

trm wins
666  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Adding an additional 1660 to my rig on: August 05, 2021, 01:08:57 PM
I got a gigabyte gtx1660 sent to me from international today and when I wanted to add the card to my rig I noticed it has 8pin power slot instead of 6pin slot like other gtx1660 that I have, this ain't super or Ti version, is there anyway to make this work? Will 6pin power this card?

Plugin the 6 Pin connector and give it a try. I think it will work and no adapter is needed.
667  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum London Hard fork on: August 05, 2021, 01:03:46 PM
So is this hard fork already implemented now?I don't see a increase in difficulty as of now, with 300 Mhsh I could do 0.0082-0.0084 and I see it is still the same in online calculators also in Ethermine stays almost like the calculators. If it is already implemented it seems that mining reward is not affected at all at least until now.

Do you read my post? Why should the difficulty increase when they released an update against increasing the difficulty (EIP 3554)? And yes London Hardfork is live, and as i predicted, it has no real impact on the actually income.  Cool
668  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum London Hard fork on: August 05, 2021, 12:48:55 PM
Will this stop pow algorithm? I don't think that Ethereum will exclude the pow algorithm any time soon that's why they try fixing the high gas fee first and this can even make ETH price surge while making the mining reward grows higher too

ETH Pow stop when ETH2.0 is released, so in maybe 2 years for real!!!!!! If someone believe this will come at the beginning of 2022, then you also believe that santa claus is real Cheesy

Read the ETH roadmap and add 1 or 2 years for every milestone
669  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Powering few Vega at once on: August 05, 2021, 12:30:41 PM
I'm trying to power up to 6 Vega 56 GPUs and they have 2x 8pin power slot on them but my power supply only has 4x 8pin plugs so I can only power two Vega 56 cards so my question is are there server power supply that can power many Vega 56 GPU at once ?

Are they need the 2x8 Pin connectors? I ran my RX570 only with 1x 6Pin and most of this cards have 2x 8Pin. My 1070 and 1070tis all run with only 1x 8Pin also.

1x 8 Pin deliver 150watts + 75watts over the riser - so 1x 8Pin is enough
670  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum London Hard fork on: August 05, 2021, 12:12:00 PM
I worry more about the eip 3554 on december than this update today

If this EIP really happen on december the ETH mining will be over..

Ok, we have other alt coins to mining.. but.. all eth mining going to other much smaller market… will it work??

Dude EIP 3554 come today with the London Hardfork and it will delay the difficulty bomb to december, so this is quite good update. The name says diffi bomb delay
671  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Etherium mining, staking or not and auto selling at the same time, regulated? on: August 05, 2021, 09:04:16 AM
Im still a relative newbie, about two months into mining etherium.

For now i've been mining it straight to an exodus wallet.

I guess doing this is less than ideal in terms of either being able to stake or auto selling a portion each month?

I read around on staking, but its still unclear to me if the eth i put into staking now gets locked (related to eth2 eventually somehow), or if it can be freed if needed.
Of course there is the whole security of doing staking vs sending this to say a ledger, but i guess either way to sell, i have to transfer a portion monthly to an exchange to cash out some of it (?)

I also read about regulation thats in progress or has happened, i thought i read that blockfi is not regulated yet either, so ideally it goes somewhere there is regulation in the long term.

At this point i guess either way im stuck with gas fees getting things from exodus to another location (or the offline ledger).

Thanks for any suggestions

If you put your eth into eth2.0 than it is locked until eth2.0 is released -> so it is locked for 2 years or more (i know some people believe eth2.0 come next year, but we all know that the eth devs are slow, veeeeeeeeeeery slow)

My suggestion to you, donīt use exodus wallet - it is a piece of shit in my opinion. Use a ledger or trezor instead.

You can read every week some news about regulations, year for year for year, but nothings happen -> how should they regulate a decentrelized currency? I think it is not possible.
672  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: OS that gives users access to others OC settings on: August 05, 2021, 08:14:33 AM
Are there any mining OS that allows you to add others OC settings to your own in the OS? I've tried hiveOS but not what I expected because only the clock and memory clock works, I'm talking about advance tweak and timing for cards like AMD Vega

You can tweak all memory timings on HiveOS also.
673  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Gtx1060 Vs P106-100 on: July 30, 2021, 10:43:02 AM
Between P106-100 and gtx1060 6gb which is a better investment? I heard they are roughly the same when it comes to power consumption for mining ETH, is there any advantage over the other?
Now it may not be worth buying the P106-100 and gtx1060 6gb because they are very old.
gtx1060 has proven to be very reliable, but very hard to find in good condition.
P106-100 has been mining for 4 years. Buying these video cards now doesn't make much sense, unless you are offered a good price with a payback of 4-5 months
Unless if they bought it in cheap price why not mine with this card? Actually the hash for p106 must be around 29 to 31mhs

29 -31?  Roll Eyes In your dream. Max Hashrate at DAG EPOCH 0 can be around 24 - 25, but at the actually EPOCH 430, you get around 20 - 23 mh depends on your OC.

It is exactly the same gpu - only difference, the p106-100 has no monitor connection.
675  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Vertcoin on: July 26, 2021, 11:18:11 AM
How to mine vertcoin in Windows 10 64bit ?
After initialization offical miner show error. Cuda and OpenCL was installed, Everest checked.

What is your GPU? What driver version? How is your commandline?
676  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What should I mine on: July 23, 2021, 01:09:20 PM
I'd use 3090 for Ethereum mining and 3070 for raven coin unless your 3070s are the first breed (non LHR) then ETH would be better, I'd like to warn you though, do not use your 3090 to play new world 😤😤 I bricked mine this way

Only a special EVGA 3090 version can brick in the main menu of New World. It is a fault by EVGA and nothing more.

I just got my RTX cards yesterday and I'm happy about it so what should I mine?

1. 8x rtx3070
2. 2x rtx3090

I have Radeon Vega cards and I'm using the rig to mine Ergo since I'm certain ergo is more profitable on Radeon GPUs like Vega

Just mine ETH as long as possible.
677  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Low hashrate on 570s on: July 23, 2021, 10:15:50 AM
im getting 12-12.5mhs with rx470 4g. with settings 1150core 2000 memory 900mv powlim -20. Also dont forget switch wattman to fast memory timings. Also rxboost will add more extra speed. you can get with amdmemtweak.
14Mhs i dont recommend because you will use alot wattage and make gpus hot.

With 900mv you can go higher with your core clock and you get more hashrate. rxboost will not help to get more hashrate. powlim -20 bring also nothing.

13mh is the sweet spot in my opinion.

I'm using 5x rx570 to mine ergo coins for day but I decide to switch to ravencoin and this guys are giving me 10mh each how can I get closer to 14mh cos that's what I'm seeing online for rx570 each, what am I doing wrong?

What miner your are using? You must use Teamredminer to the best hashrates.
678  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Phoenix miner clCreatebuffer (-61) on: July 22, 2021, 12:17:54 PM
ive found the problem and the solution was:
''-clKernel 0''
i removed that from the startup and let them run untill the 'dag' was generated.
i closed phoenix miner and added ''-clKernel 0'' again and now it started up good.

(if i dont add ''-clKernel 0' i get the 'clsetkernelarg -48' error.)

And why clkernel 0? i think this command is not needed or why you want to start with generic kernels? If the miner make problem without this command, then you have maybe another problem. CClock is also low. Can you start with more voltage or without oc? Does it work?

By the way - teamredminer or lolminer is the better option for miner -> give more poolside hashrate.
679  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: London Release and miner software on: July 21, 2021, 02:21:59 PM
Hello!

As miners, once the London fork comes out, is there a need to update our miner clients (ie. PhoenixMiner)?

no
680  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ERGO Miners Comparative on: July 21, 2021, 09:40:38 AM
This is an ERGO Miners Comparative with 4 x 3080, with Fixed Core Clock to avoid any Silicion Lottery.

All 3080 are at:

Core 1500
Memory 900

Miners used all to same pool:
Nbminer : Fee 2%
Nanominer : Fee 2.5%
T-Rex : Fee 2%
lolMiner : Fee 1.5%

There is a lot of interesting information

With HiveOS results: we have all of them around 205-206Mhs. Only we found that lolMiner goes down Mhs in ERGO Data Set all other miners doesn't do it. We will show it later.

Dev Fee (once per 2 hours)    => https://github.com/nanopool/nanominer

It takle in global 2.5% of the time... T-REX and NBMiner take 2% of the time and lolMiner take 1.5% of the total time.

24 hour to compare 3 miner? bro this not enough. Test it for 7 days, write down every 24 hour the average pool hashrate and calculate the average of 7 days.

I compared lolminer (1,5% fee) and Teamredminer (2% fee) -> in my test i get 2% more poolside hashrate with teamredminer. Yes it is AMD i know -> but maybe someone will help this information
