702  Other / Meta / Discussion about subjective behaviors that may result in a red tag. on: February 03, 2019, 10:35:49 PM
From this thread: Discussion about acceptable and unacceptable behavior. Community values. DT

I'd like to have some discussion about some contentious subjective behaviors that could result in red tagging by some DT members.

Unacceptable behavior that could result in a red tag:

Quote
These items are subjective and require some community discussion.

Extreme harassment *Subjective
Business activity that resulted in the loss of funds by others. *Subjective
Asking for a no collateral loan *Subjective This should only apply if the user has little reputation/is asking for an amount that is way too unreasonable for what reputation they have.
ANN bumping, which is negative to the forum.
Loan defaults (only if unpaid for an unreasonable amount of time)
Colluding *subjective
Leaving fake negative ratings*subjective
703  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Hacking accusation: zTheWolfz, Aleks09, Mr Felt, shdvb - discussion needed. on: February 03, 2019, 02:01:58 AM
This really doesn’t work prove anything.

Of course not. My hacker dropped my merits to some users during a timespan of 6 minutes, and one of this users was green painted by a trusted user who was recently tagged as an hacked account, and act and behave strangely. This doesn't exactly prove anything. But there are lot of clues.

I'm waiting for explanations from the involved users (I even sent PMs), but as now I would bet we spotted the hacker and his friends (or alts).

Why you felt the urge to post here to state we didn't still "work proved" anything?

I wouldn’t give the time to respond to this and wouldn’t blame anyone involved if they didn’t either.

It doesn’t take anything to receive a merit and merit isn’t generally worth anything to a high ranking account that isn’t trying to help a specific person to rank up.

I can see this turning into another witch-hunt, which is not something I want to see.

You put a negative feedback about the merits from hacked account, I want to clarify this situation, i am owner of this three accounts (Mr.felt) (zTheWolfz) and Aleks09 I keep these accounts for promotion of my trading topic for buying and selling cryptocurrency and i am not a hacker! and i bought this merits from user of this forum, I have already shared all the information about this user with (erre).
And honestly I thought that having several accounts and buying merit is not prohibited here , maybe there is some way to return these merits and that you would remove your negative feedback?

The member has already admitted to having bought the merit from the hacker. They are all his alts. All the accounts have changed ownership so have been hacked or bought.
All the accounts are being used to provide false reviews of the exchange service.

Placing false feedback

When the first cars came out they were limited to 5 kmh and had someone with a red flag walk in front to warn other traffic. People complained that they frightened horses and made cows milk turn sour. People dislike change. They are sceptical of new technology and like to feel safe. Early adopters of technology dont necessarily win with their investment. Some investments will bomb. But early adopters do promote and contribute to the development of the new technology. I don't recommend investing in crypto unless you are keen to learn about it. Without understanding what crypto is and how it works you will easily lose everything you buy. Unless you want to learn about it - it is not necessarily stupid to avoid crypto. A lot of investors in January 2017 are much worse off now.

Can you tell me which tweet this image is taken from? Is it a screen shot, or an image posted to a twitter account?  Thanks.

Regarding this image, since it's not in the police's official site (https://www.police.govt.nz/search-results/cryptopia) I'll believe it's fake until proven otherwise.
It is made to look like someone contacted New Zeland's police and this is their answer in a personal message, but it'd be an omission from the police to not include such important information in an official announcement.
This is why I believe it's fake.

It is not fake. It is a letter sent by the police to people who contacted them regarding Cryptopia.
I have spoken to a number of people who have received that letter.

Police dispute claims more cryptocurrency taken from Christchurch company Cryptopia

Quote
Blockchain analysis company Elementus' CEO Max Galka has written a blog post claiming another $260,000 worth of Ethereum (a type of cryptocurrency) has been transferred from about 17,000 Cryptopia wallets (like a bank account for digital currency) since police began investigating. The transfers allegedly began about 1am on Tuesday.

Quote
Detective Inspector Greg Murton, of Canterbury police, said it was "not correct" that more currency had been transferred without authorisation.

They already said it may reopen sometime in Mid Feb.

Where did you get that?

Russians ahve good reason to copy and paste this to thier trust list

The Russians have a much better reason to try to work on a resolution.

1) Working on a resolution has the support of many of the current DTs
2) Working together rather than as warring fractions will be much better for the fight against scammers.
3) The Russians have worked extremely hard already on showing goodwill and good intent in resolving the issues through negotiation and discussion.

Lets get rid of the politics and work together to eliminate scams.

715  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: what technology does Binance and Bitmex use to trigger trades so fast on: January 30, 2019, 02:24:45 AM
I don't know about Bitmex but Binance has a well thought out platform.

It helped that they raised a decent size ICO to develop the platform and the value of the funds raised increased in the bull market. Then after they launched they were able to take advantage of the bull market and their trading volume was huge. A lot of this was used for further development of the platform.

They have a number of bots and triggers that alert them with security related issues on the exchange.

Their ban on certain bot activity (e.g. excessive polling) and penalizing those bots with "time out" helps keep their trade engine fast.

Quote
The /api/v1/exchangeInfo rateLimits array contains objects related to the exchange's RAW_REQUEST, REQUEST_WEIGHT, and ORDER rate limits. These are further defined in the ENUM definitions section under Rate limiters (rateLimitType).
A 429 will be returned when either rate limit is violated.
Each route has a weight which determines for the number of requests each endpoint counts for. Heavier endpoints and endpoints that do operations on multiple symbols will have a heavier weight.
When a 429 is recieved, it's your obligation as an API to back off and not spam the API.
Repeatedly violating rate limits and/or failing to back off after receiving 429s will result in an automated IP ban (http status 418).
IP bans are tracked and scale in duration for repeat offenders, from 2 minutes to 3 days.

717  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Cryptopia Cryptocurrency Platform Services and Development on: January 30, 2019, 12:53:41 AM

That report shows that people are still depositing funds to wallet that elementus.io already previously identified as compromised.

Keeping in mind that while elementus could be right - is has not been confirmed by the Police or Cryptopia.

EDIT: https://www.stuff.co.nz/business/110287959/police-dispute-claims-more-cryptocurrency-taken-from-christchurch-company-cryptopia

It is common sense that if people keep sending funds to a compromised wallet that the attacker has access to them.

To keep sending funds to an exchange that is currently not online and has a big notice that says they have had a security breach is irresponsible.

Don't send funds to any Cryptopia wallet until they officially declare it safe to do so.
718  Other / Meta / Re: The Russians V TMAN - peace treaty. on: January 30, 2019, 12:39:12 AM
IMO, in the retrospect  of preceding topic it would be more equitable to title this one as "TMAN vs Russians...",  still waiting for public apology on that.

Perhaps that can be part of the "peace" roadmap.

I'd like to see some community agreement beyond just agreement with "the Russians".

I think discussion and agreement on acceptable conduct can avoid a lot of disagreements in the future.

719  Other / Meta / Re: 270 trust.7 trust.3 trust compared to minus 128 trust on: January 29, 2019, 07:18:20 PM

The doubt or no doubt in your mind over this matter is totally irrelevant and of no importance compared to hard proof that some members get red trust presenting facts regarding the wrong doing and untrustworthy deeds of DT members or encouraging others to examine these facts. Please understand that.

You do not have absolute proof in this case.

In commonwealth civil litigation the test is "on the balance of probabilities" meaning "more likely than not." In my opinion it easily meets that test.

...and you complain about feedback left by the DTs when you leave false feedback yourself.

Why you claim i complain ?Didin't i just proofed that you complain when the same thing just happened to you directly ?
You got a negativ feedback for your past actions.I never said you are a scammer.Based on these DT members its enough to be untrustworthy in their opinion.
I just did to you which actions you defended of other DT members. So why do you complain and post now about false feedback when you defend at the same time the false feedbacks of DT members telling its their right to have their own opinion?
Seems hypocritical to me.

I have never defended false feeďback. On the contrary. I have often approached DTs that have left incorrect feedback via PM and discussed their feedback which has often resulted in removal of their feedback.

You have just publicly admitted that the feedback you left is false to use my reaction to "prove your point". I'll let it sink in for a while. http://archive.fo/rrYWw

Also stop bullshitting about your alt. You have made all the exact spelling and grammatical mistakes with your alt that your thule account makes.

There is a difference between making a mistake with a feedback and deliberately placing  false ratings.

Also there is not doubt in my mind that the feedback Suchmoon left is true and that you are lying that it is not your alt. The alt makes every spelling and grammatical mistake you usually make  At least half a dozen of them.. There is no other active account that I am aware of on the entire bitcointalk that makes the exact same combination of errors.
