1021  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Thoughts on monero's anonymity? on: October 24, 2018, 11:41:58 PM
What's the deal here? Do you want to be anonymous when using cryptos? As we know, bitcoin has an open and searchable blockchain, where you can trace anything. That's why some like to use mixers. Coins like Monero are popular because of ONE thing, anonymity. No one knows where goes what or how much. I've seen lately in illegal drug markets that monero is becoming increasingly popular due to its anonymity. I haven't seen monero been used much for anything outside the illegal drug market.
Is this a good thing or a bad thing? Do we want to enforce anonymity among cryptos or defend it?

Every time Monero forks it potentially discloses some information that can be used to identify owners of wallets.
Monero 0 (XMZ), Monero Original (XMO), Monero Classic (XMC) and second Monero Classic (XMC)

The potential problem with privacy coins is that exploits are also harder to detect. Exploits like what happened with all the zerocoin based coins.

Personally I think Electroneum is going to be a big competitor against Monero. It is based on the same code and has more people that use it.

There are far more uses for privacy coins other than "illegal uses".

Privacy is something that determines freedom. Without privacy your freedom is impacted.

People wear clothes, have doors on bathrooms, curtains and other privacy measures.

Disclosing your wealth publicly to strangers in not recommended. It makes you a target for theft and extortion.

Would you like everyone to know your purchases ? Porn subscription, hemorrhoid cream and political donation just as an example.

I have investors miners. Which make deposits in my wallets. I trade on these coins and bring them to btc. These are such snickering uncles. With no place to put money and they buy farms. Only they cannot set them up and they don’t know how to use the exchanges either. And I, in turn, will help with the selection of video cards and the withdrawal of profits. For this, I take my commission. But since the amount of the deposit was equivalent to 27 btc. I promised they would be clean 25 btc. All the above is my commission. They transferred funds and are still waiting for their 25 btc.

Support cryptope, too, has repeatedly said. But from them ignore. I have 2 options. Either return 25 BTC. Or return the deposit back. None of this is done.

The answer from the support every day is the same:
Thank you for waiting patiently. Wait still. and it's all.

So these coins are all newly mined coins ? Which coin ?
1023  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Mikemark account scammed me on: October 24, 2018, 01:38:29 PM
I'm now completely confused as to what's going on here, and I did read the imgur (mostly gibberish) chat link.

The previous messages posted here where by the seller of the account, i am the buyer that was scammed.

I had sold my MikeMark account for my mom medical expenses to one person.

My ADD is flaring up and I've yet to finish my coffee.  Can someone give me their tl;dr opinion on this?  LoyceV? xtraelv?  I'm having a hard time making heads or tails of this.

It is relatively simple:

<snip>
I had sold my MikeMark account for my mom medical expenses to one person.
<snip>
<snip>
I was in extreme anger , because I had lost my account and my money need for my medical expenses.
<snip>
The previous messages posted here where by the seller of the account, i am the buyer that was scammed.

At least there is some intelligence present in this thread:

Waiting for story of tomorrow!

Hi hilariousandco,
Just withdraw the application I did not have all those negative things in mind.

And about the investigation topic. I and marlboroza had conversations few times. I have explains the facts to him/her clearly. The OP created that topic against me because he was mad at me. He accused me for things which I never done in the forum lifetime.

I will appreciate if you take your time and read the contents of that investigation topic and this topic as well where the OP was mad at me for tagging him for merit abusing. The entire things from OP was biased by his madness.

I guess you are seeing me on the forum all the time. I never took any step which legitimately harm my reputation. I always respect value of the forum and also I never did any harm to anyone consciously. It's against my strong moral. I hope my activities in the forum backs up my claim.

After your investigation if you are satisfied then would you please remove the rad tag. Feel free to ask any question if you have.

Thanks for considering.

I wasn't going to comment but I see that you have used this as an opportunity to malign my motives - again.

Regarding the merit accusation you jumped to conclusions without even talking to me. It annoyed me that you pulled Lafu into it all. Someone who I respect for the volunteer work that he does. Someone who has received hundreds of merits from others.

But I did not create that topic because I was mad at you or out of "madness". I created the topic because it is true.

Nothing in the investigation topic that I have written is untrue. If there is anything that is untrue I will happily modify it.

You fail to take responsibility for your own actions.

Your brought attention to yourself by your activities and as a result your history as a ponzi promoter was exposed.

I don't trust you because you promoted ponzis. and did plenty of other suspect stuff.

It soon became obvious that you were creating situations to farm merit and to to obtain trust ( here and here ) while deliberately ignoring the obvious forum rule violations of people that you associate with.

The type of people that are your social media followers are the exact type of people that cause this forum so much problems.

You've been caught receiving merit from your brother.
You've been caught merit begging.
You've been caught shitposting numerous times. (73 replies deleted by moderators and 9 topics removed according to bpip.org)
You've been caught trying to escrow a large amount
You've been caught being part of a dodgy signature campaign.
You've been found to have a history of promoting multiple ponzis
You've received 3 forum bans.

In the meantime you require higher standards from others expecting them to be tagged.

1026  Other / Meta / Re: Can Forum Create Bot Which Recommend For Merit on: October 24, 2018, 08:31:08 AM
Forum has anti spam bot.

The forum does not have an anti spam bot. The mods and admins to around and delete spam comments and also trash useless threads in the forum.
They are also aided by members who can flag a post by reporting it and they take action (they are pretty efficient for you to think they're bots)

This is probably why the user thinks the forum has an anti spam bot.

The autoban makes it look like it is an automated process https://bitcointalk.org/modlog.php  .

1027  Other / Meta / Re: Can Forum Create Bot Which Recommend For Merit on: October 24, 2018, 04:44:11 AM
Forum has anti spam bot. Is it possible to create bot which scan posts for plagiarism, if passes then scan for quality. Bot should be able to give merit or recommend post for merit. Depends what is better.

A merit bot is too hard to make and is not needed.

We already have TMan who swears at shitposters, plagiarists and merit beggars as well as ridiculing them.
1028  Other / Serious discussion / Re: To infinity and beyond. Does "beyond" exist ? on: October 24, 2018, 02:42:05 AM
Math can sometimes be hard to express in language. "Infinity and beyond" can be an exaggeration, but math will always have its way to prove it.

The universe is infinite, it's always what we(or it could only be me) know of. I don't remember how I learned about it, but this topic gave me an odd idea.

There is theory about expanding universe which I "somehow" compare on "how we used to live" on our own planet. If we go further east; it'll be west, of course, same as north to south. Then it dawned on me, could our universe be just a "loop"? If we go further the universe, no matter what direction and without turning back, we will comeback to where we also started. The infinity also looks like a loop to me.

If the universe is proven to be just an endless loop, it's about time to prove the parallel universe's existence.

I'm not great with math, I only know about the basics of it. The infinity+1 or "beyond infinity" is acceptable if infinity is just an endless loop. But the "time is but a stubborn illusion" quote from Einstein is hard to accept and comprehend, since everything is associated with time.

It really does depend on how you define infinity.

Whether it is actual infinity, mathematical infinity or theoretical / philosophical infinity.

I am now of the opinion that we are both correct and both wrong. Depending on the definition used of infinity.

Taking the definition that infinity is forever infinite. It means that it has no start and no end. Yet by definition of "infinate" it will have "infinite starts and infinite ends"

This means that infinity contradicts itself and has infinite contradictions. So "beyond infinity" would be where it doesn't contradict itself.

With theoretical infinity it doesn't matter whether it can exist or not. Because it is a theoretical "infinity" and therefore theoretical "beyond infinity".

mah, BTC withdraw fee  0.000500 and it take 6h already and counting. 30 blocks passed still 0 confirmation.
but blockchain say fee is 0.00000515 BTC

I don't get it. If it has 0 confirmations how does the fee show on the blockchain ?

? Several block explorers show details for unconfirmed transactions... including fees.

https://www.blockchain.com/btc/unconfirmed-transactions

If it is not confirmed then it is not on the blockchain.

Bitcoin Confirmations. Roughly every ten minutes, a new block is created and added to the blockchain through the mining process. This block verifies and records any new transactions. The transactions are then said to have been confirmed by the Bitcoin network.

1031  Other / Meta / Re: Bias on giving merit, forum negativity and positivity to the newbies. on: October 23, 2018, 05:00:07 AM
I know that it is not good to accuse higher ranks for a bias giving of merits. It is not good to generalize high rank users for the bias of giving merits.

No hurt feelings because this is only base on my observation after gone reading a lot in this section. Most of the merited post are from the high ranks (good posters). Absolutely a good post from a high rank user will then receive merits without hesitation. I bet some factors that will contribute to the bias decision of giving merit was because the poster is senior user, the merit giver is a sychopant user, the user display a good character in the forum which relatively the awarding of merit standards will be bend for a bit even if there were mispelled words and grammatical error.

The users of this photo had a good post and recieved lot of merits and I do not know if there were any lower ranks could be able to receive lots of merits like this.

Thus, bias giving of merit will only apply to high ranks users. And if you are a newbie trying hard to start a thread for merits then you will end up getting a lot of negative reply. I have seen some post started with newbies or lower ranks in their merit related post and definitely get a negative feed back.

NEWBIE + GOOD POST = IGNORE
HIGH RANK + GOOD POST = MERITS

What will be the impact for this to the newbie?

Simply it will inflict negativity to the newbie and will do the same with other newbies. It is just like a domino effect.

What will happen to the forum?
Bitcointalk will be full of newbies with negativity. This will not likely to make everybody enjoy the stay in the forum.

Anyway, not all high rank users will give negative feed back for the post because some of the high rank users were professional in dealing with newbies. I do appreciate them. I know one high rank user who were get tired of the negativity in the forum.

Quote
I'm fed up with ignore lists, reporting, blocked boards and all those negative technique that we seem to be forced into using here. They are necessary if one want to stay sane when looking for meritable posts.

I qouted this post from one of the good users here in the forum.

What could be the impact of the positivity  to the forum and cryptocurrency?

It will add and reflect good cryptocurrency discussions and active markets for cryptocurrency. A forum with good service will definitely help the crypto market to be active because some of the users here are also crypto contributors and investors.

Being rude to others must be put to a proper way of dealing it. Instead of posting rude comments to their threads, we have other option by using private message. If not then just ignore and never mind that poster.

Now, can we be more friendly? I  am started to worry now the possible replies.

Stop whinging about it being unfair.
You only have to earn one merit to rank up to a Jr Member

Sometimes it takes weeks or months for a good post to be noticed.

Your focus shouldn't be on earning merits. I sometimes write posts that take hours to write and get no merits while others are one liners and get merits - it is up to others to decide whether they find them interesting or not. If you make enough good posts then you get merit for some.
I'm generally suspect of newbie accounts that moan about merits. They often turn out to be account farmers.

Before you complain about the system advantaging senior members:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5001019.0

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5035375.0
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4972467.0

It is neither hard to get merit - nor does it favor certain ranks. If your posts are consistently unique, informative and interesting then you will have no trouble gaining merit.

It is unrealistic to expect every good post to get merit. It is not a "participation prize"..

If your posts are cliche, regurgitated repeat topics,  complaining about merit, obvious merit farming or uninteresting then you will find it hard to get merit.

If putting effort into your posts in annoying then perhaps a forum isn't the best venue for you?  If you just want to throw around links head on over to twitter or facebook and interact with a bunch of other like minded individuals and pass around links till your have your fill of them.  There is no 140 character limit here for a reason!

Perhaps you're right. SMF doesn't seem exactly well suited for project collaboration.

Serious discussion and Ivory tower have additional rules about low quality posts:

Quote
- When you post, you must have a clear point. If you ramble on about nothing, then your post will be deleted.
 - You must stay fairly close to the topic being discussed in each thread.
 - While some amount of error is difficult to avoid, if your English is so broken that you sound stupid, then your post will be deleted.

EDITED:
One liners and a link are not acceptable topic starters in politics and off topic but with serious discussion and Ivory tower even more is expected.

Trump is a Russian agent
LINK

The above is a shit thread and does not belong in the P&S board. The above is more of an advertisement also I don't need you to point out every fucking link on the web I can search them myself.

I agree that something like that is not adequate for serious discussion or Ivory tower.

Just posting a link and a single short sentence is not a "serious discussion".

I might not agree with the opinion and convictions held by Jet Cash and Notbatman but they are serious about the discussion that they post there. They have a religious conviction for the topics that they post there and discuss it in great detail.
1035  Other / Meta / Re: Gag Order? Trump's a Russian Agent on: October 22, 2018, 07:19:22 PM
It seems everytime I assert that Trump's a russian agent, it's removed.

Even with a direct link from an news article saying the same shit, it's removed.

No deleted notice, nothing; just gone from the forums.

Seems like someone's trying to silence a certain message, which leads me to believe it's probably an outside entity from BTCTalk making the requests.

Who knows, maybe it's just moderators removing posts they don't agree with.  Roll Eyes

Perhaps it is time to read the rules.

It would be considered a low quality topic and definitely not the right place to post in META.

This should be in off topic - otherwise it will likely be deleted or moved for you by the moderators.

LO-fucking-L

Even by the extremely low standards of this thread the value of this "proof" falls somewhere between last year's fart and a glass hammer.

while you are making LOLs, the topic starter of the russian thread about worldcore marina uni who is stating that wrc is allegedly a scam, closed the topic for new replies right after this kind of information about anton gevko appeared. weird coincidence, or she was just afraid and didn't know what to answer on this point? in this case, all her statements (and the statements of veleor, as well) about criminal case against worldcore mean a little bit less than nothing

Much like Suchmoon I am also partly amused and partly annoyed by the low standard of proof offered in this dispute.

I am not convinced that there is a deliberate plot to disseminate false information about Worldcore.
People busting scams are often motivated by their conscious and want to prevent people from being scammed. - Even if they are mistaken.

I also have seen no convincing evidence that .Pavel Krymov is behind Worldcore. However the accusation is worrying. - If Pavel Krymov is one of the organizers behind Worldcore then there is cause for serious concern.

The fact that Wordcore created their own "University" and awarded two of their founders "Qualifications" is concerning because it is ethically questionable and concerning that they had such a lapse in judgement.

When bringing serous accusations it is vital that the evidence is reliable. So far not much reliable evidence has been provided.

Worldcore bought ads in Google with the title "Pavel Krymov is not guilty": http://archive.li/MuUGq

If you click on the link of the google advert you will see it is click-bait.

The DirecTV type "satellite" dish systems that are commonly in use today use troposcatter technology developed by the US military:

"tropospheric scatter: 1. The propagation of radio waves by scattering as a result of irregularities or discontinuities in the physical properties of the troposphere. [NTIA] [RR] [JP1] 2. A method of transhorizon communications using frequencies from approximately 350 MHz to approximately 8400 MHz. (188) Note: The propagation mechanism is still not fully understood, though it includes several distinguishable but changeable mechanisms such as propagation by means of random reflections and scattering from irregularities in the dielectric gradient density of the troposphere, smooth-Earth diffraction, and diffraction over isolated obstacles (knife-edge diffraction). Synonym troposcatter." -- https://www.its.bldrdoc.gov/fs-1037/dir-038/_5617.htm

Antennas used for troposcatter reception and transmission are far larger than the ones used for satellite reception and  transmissions because the signal is much weaker and are influenced much more by atmospheric conditions.

We can conclude that Worldcore employees write fake positive reviews about their company and use fake names like "Richard Bracke".

7 Proven. ☑    - Worldcore writing own positive reviews

I have seen some Worldcore shills that write false reviews.

It is relatively obvious by reading the reviews.

8 Not proven. ☒  - Fake social media profile of Alexey

However with the "fake profiles".

1) They are on a third party social media site. Anyone can make a fake profile on there - it is not necessarily done by the person in the photo.

2) It is reasonably common for people to use fake profiles on social media or to shorten their names or use Nicknames.

Alexey Solonsky using Alex Sol is quite acceptable and is not hiding the their identity.

3) It is reasonably common for  people to fake profiles of OTHER people on social media.

I'm neither convinced that Alexey Solonsky made the Richard Bracke profile nor that it "fooled" anyone. It would be downright stupid to use your own photo on a social media site and identify your employer but use a fake name.

I have a strong suspicion that the profile was set up by someone other than Alexey Solonsky.

Using fake identities are worrying if they are used on the whitepaper or official company web pages. Using a different name on a social media site is relatively common. The way that the profile is presented makes me very suspicious about who would benefit from making such an obvious link to the profile.

Some murky tactics have been used by both sides of this dispute.

Since there is only one "employee" listed on there we can be sure 100% that  the "company information" set up on there was put there by "Richard Bracke" as well as the profile picture and the fake name.

I could post a picture of Santa Claus on there and write my name as Theymos and "owner of bitcointalk" and copy the logo from this site. It would make Theymos neither Santa Claus nor would the profile belong to the actual owner of bitcointalk.

But the guys who are running scam bounty they never give them red trust i think they are getting paid for that to not give a red trust when a project scam
and you can check it by your self

Blame the people that demanded Lauda to be removed from DT.

I'm assuming that because Laudas trust no longer shows as default others are tagging people that used to be tagged by Lauda.

Trying to get a bigger loan than the collateral is worth and trying to sell the collateral at the same time looks very scammy.

It looks like you either are trying to get more than it is worth and default on the loan (leaving the lower valued collateral) or to get paid for the same thing twice.

You posted this thread in the wrong forum - it should be in reputation.

Besides, they noticed that some web pages — which were being investigated by the authorities — were deleted out of the blue by the website owner, despite the claim that Ripoff Report does not remove reports.

A federal court stated that victims have "probable cause to sue for extortion and racketeering". http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ripoff_Report

According to ripoffreport, you sent them information and content that should not be relied upon... and the accuracy of the information you sent them relies on anonymous authors and commenters.  Huh

Why so many threads ? It makes it hard to reply.

The same image of Alex Sol / Alexey Solonsky / Richard Bracke from another site: https://worldcore.pissedconsumer.com/worldcore-worldcore-eu-aka-eupsprovider-s-r-o-20160621869125.html
