Seeing and knowing the changes in rankings in this forum, I was a little sad and concerned after the reward regulation and now reducing the rank of junior members to newbie.
but it all has a purpose that has a strong reason to reduce posting without weight and start entering a good and professional future besides making this forum have more members with broad character..

I'm just thinking of all the poor multi account bounty farmers that now have dozens of useless accounts and the uncertainty that surrounds this move... will Theymos do it again and raise the merit requirement even higher ?
1302  Other / Meta / Re: Let the "Merit broke my life" thread flood begin on: September 18, 2018, 07:59:59 AM

This is extremely bad... I think a lot of newbies will try to buy merit but I think they are missing the point. If they just put a bit of time in one of their posts I bet they could easily get 1 merit for it.

What if theymos will increase the merit requirement? Will they buy more? Long term buying is not a solution.

No it is not bad.

A lot of shitposters will abandon their "work"

Others will buy merit and get red tagged for it - making their account only acceptable to the worst of the campaigns that will take anyone that breathes.

Others will buy a copper membership, buy merit, plagiarize content, or make a genuine post and then get banned for shitposting or plagiarism if they break the rules.

Either way - it will cost them effort or crypto to have an account that they can lose for breaking the rules - so hopefully they will stop breaking the rules.

Less rule-breakers is the ultimate goal. If they go undetected for buying merit - that is less bad than spamming the forum.

If you buy merit and the merit seller gets caught - ddmrddmr has fantastic graphics that will show all the recipients.

Awarded merit is viewable  -forever !

1303  Other / Meta / Re: RED Trust...is it enough for fraudulent work ??? on: September 18, 2018, 07:38:39 AM

Things that can get people negative trust from a DT are:
Attempted or successful fraud or theft.
Business activity that resulted in the loss of funds by others.
Account sales
Merit sales / swapping
Harassing a DT
Offering escrow without a track record
Asking for a no collateral loan
Shilling / advertising MLM or ponzi
Escrowing for themselves
Late loan repayments / loan defaults.
Any other untrustworthy or illegal behavior.

Sorry for the off-topic here but this is really valuable information, so I want to ask xtralev if I can use this quoted piece in my [Guide]How to detect rule-breakers.Techniques and tips. of cource I'll mention my source Smiley

This may be quite useful to quote in your trust section of your: Don't Panic:  Iasenkos Official Hitchhiker's Guide to the BTCitcointalk Galaxy [/b]

I've just included a link to that here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4322078.msg38765392#msg38765392 so I didn't have to duplicate the information that you have already provided.
1304  Other / Meta / Re: Need for a research and informative section in the forume on: September 18, 2018, 07:20:41 AM
Hello community am very pleased to be on this forum and I must commend the moderators for a nice set up. I stand to be corrected but I think that our core aim of being here is to improve our knowledge and expertise in bitcoin and cryptocurrency related issues and so far I must say I have picked up useful knowledge. But this is a community and there is no rule that makes it a must for any one to share knowledge or pass information it is totally voluntary so I must duff my hats to those that takes it upon themselves to do it..
Well I have a suggestion that I think should be viewed. I suggest there should be a section that is reserved for information and research call it a mini library. Where some write-up that the community considered to be helpful are kept so it will  still come in handy for future purposes and not just go down the drain also suggested articles, booked, and rules and regulations can also be stored I feel it will be very helpful for newcomers in the community
 Thank you

1305  Other / Meta / Re: Ban appeal! on: September 18, 2018, 07:02:40 AM
Good day, yesterday (17-09-18) a user in this forum,  kekenapep, was banned on the grounds of plagiarism.
I would like to appeal this ban, as I communicated with the user on another platform and he confirmed that it was not intentional, in his bid to make quality posts he was reading to gain knowledge and so his post had some similarities with an article online.

Similarities ? It was copy and paste and there was more than what I and what o_e_l_e_o posted.

Bans apply to the account owner - not just the account. This means that all alt accounts are forbidden from posting on the forum as well.

"Some similarities"? "A lot of difference"? What are you talking about? It was pure copy-and-paste plagiarism:

TYPES OF WALLET
1)Desktop wallet:These are wallets usually created by the token developers, for example to find an official supported wallet for bitcoin, you can download one from https://bitcoin.org/en/choose-your-wallet
2)Mobile wallet:These are app-based wallets that you can download on your phone, although more common for Android based phones. Examples include the blockchain mobile wallet for android
3)Online wallet:All exchanges offer online wallet to allow you send and receive tokens, for example,Coinbase or my Etherwallet.com.it is highly recommended to store tokens offline to reduce risks of hacks, pshishing attempts and also the collapse of exchanges.while most exchanges have security protocols in place, there have been disasters like the infamous MT Goxhack in 2014 where $460 million worth of bitcoin was stolen
4)Paper wallet:paper wallet are simply print out of your wallets public and private keys along with a QR code you can scan.A private key is basically a sequence of letters and numbers (much like the long password)that you and only you should know,in order to unlock your wallet and access your tokens.Coindesk has a guide on how to create a paper wallet
5)Hardware wallet:These is the most secure way to store your tokens. Hardware wallets are completely offline(often referred to as cold storage)Hardware wallets do not support every token out there,so you must have to find out if the tokens you want to store are supported by the hardware wallet, popular options are the ledger nanos and the Trezor hardware wallet.

Get a cupper membership with love.

He is a translator with 600 post history. Now sadly out of work because of one merit.

Wait- I found a post between the bounty reports. I got a feeling...

1309  Other / Meta / Re: Merits shouldn't be an individual's arbitrary decision on: September 17, 2018, 04:53:42 PM

I don't see how that user can be banned because his post has some similarities with an article on some other websites.
It could possibly have been used for research purposes, and the user took some information from there and other sites.
This just looks like a retaliation, cause this post struck a nerve, this further proves the bias in this forum and how the the lower ranking members are trod upon by higher ranking members.
For God's sake thus is not a content competition and it is not in the rules that you can't pick ideas from sources.
Are we suppose to learn about cryptocurrency without reading about it?
I strongly suggest theymos looks into this.
Maybe it's not the spam posters killing the the group but the conceited high ranking members.

It is quite simple - use your own words or quote the source that you got the material from.

It is not hard to quote the source if it isn't your own words that you are posting.

If you quote the source then it could be considered "fair use". If you don't quote the source then it could be plagiarism and copyright infringement.

I found the Nostradamus Prophecy where this was predicted:

85
Throughout Meta and neighboring places,
They will be at war over the new merit requirement:
Swarms of bounty hunters and signature spammers,
The faults of the forum will be laid quite bare.

(Of course this is my interpretation - since Nostradamus is more cryptic)

85
Through the Suevi and neighboring places,
They will be at war over the clouds:
Swarm of marine locusts and gnats,
The faults of Geneva will be laid quite bare.

Bruno (The Most Entertaining Goat-Fucker BitcoinTalker)

Thankful for a thread not moaning about merit and just an old goat bleating about getting banned.

Just a few more days Bruno.... and you will be able to entertain from beyond this thread.
1312  Other / Meta / Re: Merits shouldn't be an individual's arbitrary decision on: September 17, 2018, 03:01:58 PM
i do not really feel handing out merits should be left entirely in the hands of those who have racked up numerous merits,or the big guns in the forum

Anyone who has more than 2 merits has at least 1 merit to hand out. Maybe you should consider your own ineptitude before blaming everyone else.

Edit: And your latest post here is plagiarized from here. Archived and reported. Enjoy your ban.

Another warning to everyone currently begging for merit - maybe you should consider your own stupidity before drawing attention to yourself.

Yep - I reported another plagiarized post as well.

If you copy paste and come to moan in Meta you will get caught !

Before making arbitrary statements perhaps you should try to find out how the merit system works.

Everyone that has ever gotten merit has sMerits to give. 2Merit gives 1sMerit that can be given to someone else that deserves it.

In addition there are merit sources.
1314  Other / Meta / Re: Wall of fame / shame. Shit posts so bad that they are actually funny on: September 17, 2018, 02:32:09 PM

He's copy and pasting as well:

Definitely! At the the start we can say that product do not play a main role yet since more of the investors are checking on the team that will going to work, the market they are targeting and the their vision. Once all is in place, product will be the main key to make the project a success. Also, even if the project won't hit at the early stage but if the product is enticing, give it a time and it will surely boom.

. For the task, at any rate outlining this item is important to attempt the test form, the creation of the group is likewise vital while picking ICO ., but i think you advertise kickcity good advertising but people will choose the legit one and not a scam ico because their money would be wasted if they choose to have wrong move.. Also, even if the project won't hit at the early stage but if the product is enticing, give it a time and it will surely boom.

The users that are kicking up the most fuss in Meta will be those who are abusing the system to the max and I'd bet a bollock this isn't the only account he's doing this on. The ones who are hurt the most will be those with dozens of accounts hence the such extreme butthurt so when anyone complains just check their accounts and you'll likely find something a miss. Found a few copy and pasters this morning alone just from the whingers.

Lets hope he keeps to his threat and gives up being a bounty man.

Another way, the new-newbie will destroy this forum buy a ton of shit post to get one merit  Sad

Nope - Newbie shitposters will get nuked. Once they are members they can be banned but not nuked. (Nuke = entirely disappear)

If people want merit then write something worthy of merit. It isn't a shit-post lottery where by some miracle a shit-post will attract merit.
1318  Other / Meta / Re: When can i get metrit? on: September 17, 2018, 01:16:16 PM
You people are missing the entire point of merit. The merit system is to stop users exactly like you who have absolutely no interest in contributing anything here other than to the forum's destruction and you are only here to earn at any cost. The merit system is to stop you from doing this:

Not the only one:

Persistent plagiarism.

The sophisticated traders who learned the ebbs and the flows of the bitcoin market also have better and better infrastructure to use and even more complex markets surrounding the asset class so it remains with the realm of the possible that things could swing again. I think it will grow more with upcoming normalization around the whole world which opens the door for many possibilities regarding Bitcoin. I think the best thing is to continue to collect and keep waiting until December.

EDIT:

I'm in the same situation mate, but I'm honestly shocked you managed to do over 1000 posts without a single merit.

Your posts are not bad. Just a bit short.

how long did you here .i thinks not only me much post but not get metrit . if you here long enough i will not say that

I clicked 4 random pages of your posts. All bounty spam. Nobody is going to give you merit.

It is exactly what is causing problems for this forum.
