From list of new DT members, here are some people who I think should be excluded:

VonSpass - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=219067 | alt of scammer
lovesmayfamilis - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1982152 | added by ICOEthics, only trust feedback left is to ICOEthics and Coolcryptovator
DJ1554 - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=875141 | added by xtraelv and Lafu, only trust feedback left is to xtraelv and Lafu
zeki555 - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1392550 | added by Lafu, only trust feedback left is to Lafu
zoose - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=543831 | added by Lafu, only trust feedback left is to Lafu
unick - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=144671 | added by Lafu, only trust feedback left is to Lafu
desertboy10 - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1029297 | added by Lafu, only trust feedback left is to Lafu
Bigjohnson124 - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=185728 | zero trust feedback left
cyberbully - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=539192 | Newbie, inactive since 2015, zero trust feedback left
gost111 - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=566884 | has only one trust feedback left that's calling someone a scammer without a reference or any proof
MySeriousFaceIsOn - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1033523 | Newbie, zero trust feedback left
mxhwr - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=235528 | inactive since 2017, very few trust feedbacks left, one of which is to Lafu who added them
raymond541 - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=808354 | some random bounty manager who hasn't posted since Sep 2018, very few trust feedbacks left
TripleHeXXX - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=226346 | has left only one trust feedback
mole0815 - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1424178 | zero trust feedback left
CDMcoin - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=2152197 | random Newbie with no trust feedback left
taikuri13 - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1855828 | some random who sent 16 positive trusts today, with no previous feedbacks left

Lafu seems to have added everyone who left them positive trust feedback (excluding playersfun). I left a vote against them for now as I strongly disagree with adding people solely for the purpose of boosting your own trust score (not sure if it was done intentionally or from not understanding what a trust list should be for). Lafu (and xtraelv to a lesser degree) seem to have added everyone they've traded with/talked to which isn't very good practice. They should reconsider their trust lists imo.

If someone agrees with me for the above and wants to quickly exclude them, here's a list you can copy.

edit: o_e_l_e_o was faster than me it seems in posting those with few trust feedback left

Quite a few of those people (in bold) are on my trust list.  Most I have traded substantially with but not on bitcointalk. While some of the feedback I left recently is new - the trust list I have has not altered much. The recent feedback I have left was for DTs that I believe are doing a great job and should continue to remain DTs under the new system. (Were already on my trust list due to default trust).

However if any DTs are concerned about the conduct of anyone on my trust list in future I will happily remove them.

Holy crap! Moron go to here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5097177.0

And make you next comment. Just STFU from here.

There were reason coz in any topic about me you always come in the middle and bring a diversion. Start talking about your sickness and other shits. I am sorry you are sick but that does not change the truth that you wanted to destroy me. This does not change the fact that before I have my attention to you, you were nothing here. You did not even like the community.

If you make stupid accusations about me in a thread I will respond to them in that thread.  It is you that makes the diversions. What does it have to do with S_The rapist being your alt ?

I never set out to destroy you. You are doing a fine job of that all by yourself.

I was silent when you trying to escrow & begging for merit. You also had numerous issues when you joined the forum.
783  Economy / Reputation / Re: S_Therapist = mdayonliner on: January 14, 2019, 02:25:08 PM

Fuck off I am having conversation with hilariousetc and others here.  If you have anything to say about yourself go here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5097177.0

Unlike you I'm not really that interested in talking about myself.

784  Economy / Reputation / Re: S_Therapist = mdayonliner on: January 14, 2019, 02:18:09 PM

Make a new topic and talk about your shits. Here I am talking about S_Therapist = mdayonliner issue.

Was just responding to your accusations in this thread.

There is no reason to make another useless thread.

785  Economy / Reputation / Re: S_Therapist = mdayonliner on: January 14, 2019, 02:04:32 PM

-snip-
xtraelv was done nothing significant for the forum before I had my attention to him on this thread.

Here are some facts
- Check the topics he created before the event (only one) and the topics he created after the incident(70-1 = 69 so far).
- He had 133 merit from which 100 were air dropped (meaning he was a Member ranked) and 33 merits from another of his mate and Lafu.
- His 2nd oldest topic started with me.

-snip-

1) There are a number of investigations that I worked on in the background.  Being Dyslexic means it takes effort to type and correct mistakes. It is easier to help others and let them to the write up. I worked on some complex investigations that often took many months to research. Some published on BCT and some elsewhere.

2) The Cryptopia forum closed which is where I was very active.

3) Eddie13 mentioned the Hatfield -McCoy rivalry between Cryptopia and BCT. It made me look closer to what this forum had to offer. Before checking out the historical threads I had a low opinion of the forum.

4) The only threads I was active in were the same threads that Lafu was active in.  I have never met Lafu in person - although I have chatted with him on discord on a number of occasions.  I also have never met Cryptodevil who also gave me merit. https://bpip.org/profile.aspx?p=cryptodevil He also happens to be a DT.

5) Starting topics is not a measure of success. Often a topic already exists and it is better to respond in such a thread.

786  Economy / Reputation / Re: S_Therapist = mdayonliner on: January 13, 2019, 01:45:44 PM

Three accounts where he called me hilari:

I think soon there will be a solution because everyone is fed up with this. I have seen somewhere theymos said he is willing to spend $100k for solving this problem. Also, here is a statement from hilari-

Absolutely nobody else on bitcointalk has called you Hilari. (Google confirms it) Only Mdayonliner had that habit (and S_Therapist)

Quote
hilari is safe for 7 days until the ban lifted  Cool
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4424578.0

Since I received red trust from hilariousandco (I don't care about marlboroza's one coz it basically repeated hilari's psychology) forum members started to think that I am a scammer or someone who done bad thing/s (money involved) on the forum or anywhere else.

I am sorry mate, logging into an account actually does not mean that you are the real owner. The hacker can do the same (assuming you are not). If you can not sign a previously used BTC address that was quoted by someone else on the forum then your chances are very thin to get the account back like hilariousetc AKA hilari mentioned earlier.

You can review the cases on my topic, there are so many accounts that has clear merit abusing activities. I know hilari's work, they are doing fantastic contribution for the forum. In fact, hilari is one of the DT who I admire among the rest of the DT's I exchanged words so far.

The Lutpin one did not affect me much mentally but the hilari one destroyed me mentally) to explain why I was misjudged. I think leaving neutral is ok when you see you need to defend a red.

FIY hilari tagged me on July 09.
787  Economy / Reputation / Re: S_Therapist = mdayonliner on: January 13, 2019, 01:10:15 PM
I will seat back an relax now  Grin

Your turn S_Therapist. I will have a lot to say after the drama ends here.

I will keep an archive just in case  Smiley

That is a good idea to archive it.

S_Therapist likes archiving as well.

For a user account that was started just before when Mdayonliner announced that he will be starting an "alt" it has a remarkable resemblance in style. But also identical skills, knowledge and as a noob an immediate interest in being involved in enforcing the forum rules.

I may have lackings since I'm new in the forum. I request you/mod/anyone else to correct me if there is any exceptions. It will help me in future to report and help the forum to keep clean.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5061192.msg47486649#msg47486649

I still have the PM from Hilariousandco for the 1st of November when it became apparent that they were the same person.

It was so blatantly obvious that I also had several other people message me about it as early as the start of October. But it wasn't abusing any of the rules at the time so it was unimportant.
788  Economy / Reputation / Re: Add ~Lauda & ~Zin-Zang to your Default Trust Settings on: January 11, 2019, 08:05:26 PM

The Problem with DT is the members are Judge , Jury and Executioner with NO APPEALS PROCESS WHATSOEVER, their word is Law and you have no recourse.

Without an appeals process the whole DT is a Sham and always will be.

 Cool

No they are not judge jury and executioner. The people who judge you are the people who read the comment.

The appeals process is in reputation.

Like with a court process if you go in yelling and screaming it is likely to get a worse outcome.

A red tag is not the end of the world. It is one opinion.

There are many things that happen in life that you cannot appeal elsewhere.

Love, friendship, trust and respect are all things that if you lose it you cannot appeal to an external authority to regain. You have to negotiate with those directly involved.

789  Economy / Reputation / Re: Add ~Lauda & ~Zin-Zang to your Default Trust Settings on: January 11, 2019, 07:33:05 PM

BY everyone excluding the bad apples, it makes certain they Lose DT Status and their reign of abuse ends.

Sadly it is the best that can be done, preferable wold be to scrap the whole useless DT system.

All adding members does is create default trust gangs, that will still abuse the system for their personal gain.

DT is a corrupt system, no matter how it is managed. And it harms more than it ever helped.

 Cool

I disagree. It is only a warning system.

If I see a warning for trolling I would react differently to that user than if I saw a warning for an actual scam where people lost funds.

Even with a scam warning - different people have different opinions as to what happened and what constitutes a scam. So the details and description is important.

Lauda is one of the DT members that I don't know & haven't communicated with. But I do know that it was a mess when Lauda got removed from DT because many real scammers (my definition) were no longer identifiable as such.

Hopefully the new system will be an improvement of sorts and encourage users to create better trust networks based on actual trust.

From what I have seen is that it is a curse to be on the DT list. It appears to attract the wrath of trolls and scammers.

790  Economy / Reputation / Re: Add ~Lauda & ~Zin-Zang to your Default Trust Settings on: January 11, 2019, 07:19:13 PM
I don't agree with all the negative feedback left by DTs but I certainly would strongly advise against ~[insert name of default trust member] because feedback is meant as a warning to other users.

By eliminating all feedback left by a DT because just some of it is controversial leaves users unaware of potential identified risks.

Ultimately using a ~[insert name of default trust member] just means that you won't be ware of the potential risks. If you see a warning you can choose to ignore it. If you remove the warning you no longer have a choice.

I recommend adding as many users that you trust to your trust list (and leave them positive feedback) and only exclude people if your really don't trust them (not if they just have a few differences of opinion). That is how the system was designed to work.

793  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Cryptopia Cryptocurrency Platform Services and Development on: January 08, 2019, 10:39:50 AM

You may be new to cryptopia because it does remove some altcoins from their system. I don't remember the criteria but I think it's (mainly) when there is no volume. https://support.cryptopia.co.nz/csm?id=kb_category&kb_category=dd43f58bdbeddf009990f6fcbf961910

And no Cryptopia doesn't remove a coin when there is an attack, it just locks the wallets and waits.

The criteria is clearly listed in the listing and delisting policy. Prior to the current policy that they also had a clear listing and delisting policy.

Listing policy: https://support.cryptopia.co.nz/csm?id=kb_article&sys_id=5d7482d2db9e9bc032a664a14a96199f

At the time of listing coins developers are provided with a list of ongoing requirements.

Quote
Be aware of our delisting policy and your ongoing obligations
Before you list, be aware of your obligations to us to help maintain your listing.

You need to give us notice of the following:

At least 2 weeks' notice of any significant code or protocol changes for your coin, especially hard forks.
Major issues with your coin, including hacks or network problems, as soon as you become aware of them.
Any issues with deposits or withdrawals of your coin from Cryptopia.
At least 1 month's notice if you want our assistance with an air drop. Be aware that support for this is solely at our discretion.
As much notice as possible if you need to conduct a coin swap. By default we don't support coin swaps, but they may be considered on a case by case basis.
Cryptopia reserves the right to remove any coin listed in its exchange markets for violations of our listing terms. This is solely at our discretion. Reasons a coin may be eligible for delisting include, but are not limited to:

Any network issues or vulnerabilities that could be exploited. Examples include:
Low hash-rate.
Out of date code base or wallet stability issues.
Frequent issues with deposits or withdrawals (outside of Cryptopia's control).
Insufficient nodes to keep the wallet synced and network propagating transactions.
Coins which violate our terms and conditions, policies, or an applicable NZ law or regulation
Coin swaps (where we are unable to support these)
Coins without a working, reliable block explorer
Coins that fail to provide notification of mandatory updates
Abuse directed by a coin team's core community at Cryptopia or its staff.
At our discretion, Cryptopia may issue a warning for breaches of our listing terms and conditions and provide the coin team an opportunity to rectify any issue(s).

Coins issued with a delist notice will have their markets closed and there will be a 30-day notice and withdrawal period before the listing is removed. This information will be published on our coin info, delisting, and market pages and we will endeavour to email all affected users holding positive balances of the coin.

Delisting policy https://support.cryptopia.co.nz/csm?id=kb_article&sys_id=b8aa010ddb452b80d7e096888a961934

Quote
The following criteria are required to be met by coin projects at the time of the listing:

Active and visible development team with at least two contacts given to Cryptopia (Lead Developer and CEO or Marketing Representative).
Public and safe source code as defined by our code review.
A functioning block explorer.
Detailed whitepaper outlining the use case of the project.
Road map with milestones, preferably with some achieved.
A working and detailed website.
Is NOT a "financial product", under New Zealand law.
Positive community engagement within launch forum or similar social media spaces.

Reason to delist:

Below is a list of factors that are being constantly reviewed by our Cryptopia Service Delivery Team that may result in a token/ coin being delisted:

The token/ coin no longer meets our listing criteria.
A loss of, or poor communication between coin teams and our Cryptopia Listing Team.
Project is abandoned, *e.g.: No visible coin team, no working block explorer, no active updates on code repo, or no working website.
The token's/ coin's blockchain becomes compromised or there exists a possibility to be compromised based on hash rate, namely a 51% attack.
Evolving regulatory compliance requirements. Such as changes that risk the token/ coin being deemed a financial product, or any other compliance issues.
No active development of project either in code or in meeting road map milestones.
Consistently low trade volumes.
Frequent issues with deposits or withdrawals (outside of Cryptopia's control)
Insufficient nodes to keep the wallet synced and the network propagating transactions.
In addition to the above, we have discretion to take into account any other criteria we consider relevant when making a delisting decision, and we have the right to delist a token/ coin for any reason, at our complete discretion.

Risk statement accepted by all users of the website https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/Home/RiskStatement

Please read the Cryptopia Risk Statement carefully for a summary of some of the risks that you must understand before you use the Platform or Services.

So just your wallet is the issue. Payment has been made to the address on the blockchain.

A new node takes a long time to sync. You can bootstrap it.

Have your tried this:

797  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SCAM: MinexPay crypto debit card by minexpay.com / Minexcoin on: January 05, 2019, 10:59:45 AM

The lying OP of that thread (naska21) said you "apologised and your apology was accepted" therefore the thread was locked.

I think he must be heavily involved in the Minexsystem/Minexcoin/Minexpay scam and probably suffered huge losses like his best friend temhuk who mortgaged his property to get money to put in to Minex, therefore he just wanted to create some problems for those of us that are trying to expose these evil scammers at Minex.

He wasn't lying about the appology:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5088688.msg49017539#msg49017539

Which was the right thing by mr.pacy.mf to do. He clarified what he meant and apologized for the misunderstanding.

But I suspect the thread was closed because it was causing scrutiny for the project.

It is the typical story. People think they can complain in META and that their story will be accepted without investigation.
Often when people post in META with a complaint there is an ulterior motive and stuff they haven't disclosed.

Maybe the "killing features" of that ICO is a permaban for meriting their alts that they are using to bump the thread with.
800  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 51 percent attack and blocktime on: January 05, 2019, 09:07:18 AM
Thanks BreMaster, but I guess I still don't get it completely. For newly mined blocks I understand why the aggregation of 51 percent of hashing power helps the attacker.

If the attacker decides to fork much earlier, let's say 2,500 blocks earlier, he has to catch up and eventually overtake the main chain. The attacker cannot do so however, because the difficulty must be adjusted if he mines blocks too fast. So, even if 2016 blocks are mined every 2 weeks on average, this applies to both chains. So rather than catching up with the main chain, the attacker will fight a loosing battle, since the other chain eventually grows as fast as his.

I know this is only a theoretical problem, but I was wondering whether the blocktime itself (or how you want to call it) imposes limitations to the 51 percent attack. Thanks!

I wrote a basic explaination about how 51% attacks work: How does a double spend 51% attack work ? Explanation and examples.

Article by Vitalik Buterin that covers some of what you are interested in: https://blog.ethereum.org/2014/07/11/toward-a-12-second-block-time/

The blockchain follows the heaviest chain. This means the chain with the highest difficulty which is usually longer as well.

This means that the difficulty plays an important role in which chain is accepted as the "winning chain". The difficulty is adjusted (depending on the code) every block or x number of blocks. This means that a higher difficulty chain has preference over a lower difficulty chain. Over a space of time a higher difficulty chain will be longer than a lower difficulty chain provided that the hashrate remains constant (or increases on the higher difficulty chain).

If you followed the progress of the BCH versus BSV you can see how that worked out publicly.  https://cash.coin.dance/

The BCH & BSV fork was effectively a lot of the characteristics of a very public version of a 51% attack. (Ignoring the differences in code) and has provided a lot of interesting data.

Despite the increase in difficulty due to higher hashrate - in general a higher hashrate blockchain adds blocks to the blockchain faster than a lower hashrate chain ( longest / heaviest chain is accepted as the majority)
