7081  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can we all please accept.. on: February 01, 2018, 11:43:33 AM
Most of the governments? Excuse me but so far we see only a few countries (maybe 3-4 or 5) thinking not to ban cryptocurrencies but to regulate.
China has stopped ICO and not Bitcoin: yes and I think it's good, honestly, most ICOs are crappy. So in the end, it helps cryptocurrencies to not get the cryptos tarnished by a bad reputation
7082  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [LIST] Free EU bank accounts that you can be opened directly online on: February 01, 2018, 10:59:56 AM
I come across this service that I didn't know until now, TrustPay.eu Did someone hear about this company old from 2009? It's located in Slovakia and is EU licensed and regulated
We get a dedicated IBAN EUR denominated SEPA accounts (with different currencies from what I understand) and a prepaid cards as well corporate account

Do you think newbie / Jr. Member / Fully Member with dozen of accounts are going to vote "yes"

7084  Other / Meta / Re: 2fa with a simple $20 plugin? on: February 01, 2018, 01:29:22 AM
This is something that has been asked a lot of times since years.

https://www.google.com/search?biw=1455&bih=699&ei=-mtyWu3qFIveUaXnm8gL&q=site%3Abitcointalk.org+2fa+meta&oq=site%3Abitcointalk.org+2fa+meta&gs_l=psy-ab.3...4227.8335.0.9636.4.4.0.0.0.0.123.323.3j1.4.0....0...1c.1.64.psy-ab..0.0.0....0.IzdGwu5Qnlc

but at this time it was something difficult to add (don't know now)

There was a bounty created to make a 2FA sys. years back https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=364307.0

it's supposed to be in the new forum software https://github.com/slickage/epochtalk/blob/master/app/templates/login.html
but i don't know if we will see a day this software Roll Eyes
7085  Other / Meta / Re: Facebook ban on: February 01, 2018, 12:59:57 AM
Yeah, after thinking twice you're right, it won't do anything, paying the fee will be peanuts
7086  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Security Standards in the Crypto Community Sites (or the lack of them sometimes) on: February 01, 2018, 12:55:40 AM
Grade F is still better than maybe 50% of the websites online on the www Lips sealed
7087  Other / Meta / Re: Facebook ban on: January 31, 2018, 10:39:41 PM
It's something I suggested some time ago last year... The forum could introduce different memberships to the users,  similar to "Cooper"
Most of the large forums have 1 or more memberships (especially in IM/SEO forums for example, yeah I know IM is not BTC)

- One to allow all the ICOs/Altcoins to get listed in the forum, just a one time fee. If they don't have enough money to buy a membership in a forum then just LOL

With doing quick verification to check the project it would be better than nothing..
Off topic but a membership for the average users:

- Another one for the members who want to get access to a private section, remove the captcha or any other advantages you can think about

-  Or this one that ChipMixer suggested some weeks back
Is there an official .onion proxy of BitcoinTalk that bypass Cloudflare? We do sometimes get support request PMs.

How about BitcoinTalk Pro accounts with monthly payments, private proxy without Cloudflare and captchas, bot access?
7088  Economy / Economics / Re: "Switzerland wants to be a crypto nation" Economic minister. on: January 31, 2018, 09:15:36 PM
I didn't read your article but this is something that would help the markets hopefully. The markets are so hung down, they need some sugar.
Its funny how Switzerland is thinking of this, when they have Swiss banks, got to see what they have got to say, apparently they are also banks at the end of the day. Swiss banks are known for anonymity, now if Swiss becomes a crypto economy, we know what is going to happen Wink.

Not any Swiss banks will accept you without giving your identity. The Bank privacy period is gone for 1 or 2 decades now. Switzerland can exchange information with other countries in the context of administrative assistance according to OECD standards as well information in the context of mutual legal assistance.
7089  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tired of getting hacked so here is a quick guide on decentralized exchanges on: January 31, 2018, 07:33:16 PM
With all the regulations coming, I think more people will start to use decentralized exchanges, at least people with "medium to advanced experience" with cryptocurrencies. There are 2 others that can complete your list: Bisq (previously Bitsquare) and CryptoBridge.

Quote
DEX has much lower liquidity than a traditional exchange and also tends to be a little harder to use
...and easier to manipulate the price of the young altcoins...
7090  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: New Crypto-Friendly Bank Accounts (From Wirex). on: January 31, 2018, 05:57:58 PM
I am on the waiting list. I picked up this news when a community manager shared it with me on Twitter some days ago. It will be a very good service for who need cryptocurrency banking services. Do you have an idea when it will be fully operational approximatively?
True that  Debit card & banking ICOs have gone way too much recently, we need to see solutions that won't go to the graveyard after some months.
7091  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Facebook banning All crypto ads!! on: January 31, 2018, 05:36:49 PM
There are already several threads about this news, no need another one Undecided
7092  Economy / Economics / Re: "Switzerland wants to be a crypto nation" Economic minister. on: January 31, 2018, 05:06:27 PM
Source says nothing much about it. However, I heard same kind of news few months ago that Switzerland is going to invest into crypto currencies and they are making their own coin, something similar.
~

Here's another article on the same subject: https://www.express.co.uk/finance/city/911455/Bitcoin-latest-price-live-Switzerland-blockchain-swiss-banks-decline

Only don't read the garbage Roman Bruskov says about "very risky stake" and "wrong reasons". What I really can't understand is Why do they always have to put some rubbish in an article? I mean, c'mon! Look at this guy. Has 31 friends on Facebook

https://www.facebook.com/rouben.bruskov

Does his opinion really matter?

To the OP. I think Switzerland will be a crypto nation. I love this country and the way they care about their citizens. It is a very Bitcoin friendly country alrerady, you can google about it.

Switzerland has always been ahead with the finance and has always had an open mind with a fairly reflected economic policy, maybe a little too much, therefore, the bad reputation regarding tax evasion. But nowadays this is no longer an easy thing in the country.
I am not a citizen, but I like the way politic is conducted, it looks more like a democracy than in any country
7093  Economy / Speculation / Re: Dont panic on: January 31, 2018, 04:20:32 PM
The number of new posts about BTC targets and dont sell/panic comments is hilarious.

it is because if you hang around for a long time in bitcoin world you will see the same thing over and over again where price drops with absolutely no reason apart from pure dumb panic of weak hands. and at some point you make some topic trying to warn the newbies that this is not the first time they are being "flushed".

Let's suppose the price comes back to the ATH we got at $20,000 what do you think will happen? People will think. OMG, $20,000 is back finally, this time I don't want to miss the opportunity to sell everything I own, you never know if the market will crash again....
(Be sure a lot of people will again panic during this time)

psssst  btw... Cheesy

7094  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin loses its popularity ? on: January 31, 2018, 04:10:04 PM
Besides people who keep posting on this topic the same thing, no bitcoin is still popular. I would like to remind you about something that we need to focus on.
Bitcoin hasn't be created to give the opportunity to people to speculate on its profitability.
Bitcoin isn't an investment. If people could change their opinion maybe Bitcoin wouldn't be so volatile as we saw.
95% of the altcoins listed on Coinmarketcap are down as well. The 5% remaining are shitcoins and will crash lol. So this isn't relevant to the situation
7095  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / The Twitter account @Bitcoin has mental problems? on: January 31, 2018, 03:06:31 PM
Do you know who this account belong?
I remember this account was inactive for a long time and suddenly is active again, since some days.
Half of the tweets posted are about Bitcoin cash and the account retweet news/services related to Bitcoin cash.

What's going on?

7096  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: SegWit wallets on: January 30, 2018, 09:23:18 PM
I am not sure about this lol because i have never used it
Isn't it a wallet working using a browser plugin and in "watch only" mode, using username and password? (beside the smartphone app)
7097  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: SegWit wallets on: January 30, 2018, 08:29:55 PM
Just a reminder guys, the fees are currently low and mempool is empty so If you didn't switch because of that, you can do it now.

Since there isn't any web wallet listed and a large percentage of people are using it, perhaps you can add Bitwala? They do have segwit wallets and you can get the private keys which are a plus
And if I am not wrong Airbitz aka Edge has the android version

Edit 1:https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.airbitz
Edit 2: Bitwala closed the registrations so only old users can use their wallet
7098  Economy / Service Discussion / Free-Paid BTC Transaction accelerator services + broadcast transactions tool on: January 30, 2018, 01:24:52 PM
Since some members here try to make money by offering to speed up transactions instead of offering it to the community for free.
I will list the sites here, the free and paid service, so that everyone can enjoy them. I will later explain in another topic some other methods that can be used

Quote
Miners typically pick the transactions that pay the most fees and include these in their blocks first. Transactions that include lower fees are “outbid” on the so called “fee market,” and remain in miners’ mempools until a new block is found. If the transaction is outbid again, it has to wait until the next block.

This can lead to a suboptimal user experience. Transactions with too low a fee can take hours or even days to confirm, and sometimes never confirm at all.

7100  Other / Ivory Tower / Re: Charity Projects with Crypto on: January 30, 2018, 01:24:22 AM
There are several solutions for which charities can accept cryptocurrencies and (as well to convert them into fiats), perfect solutions for beginners.
But let's be honest, there's a very low interest from people in making a donation in cryptos, and so charities too.
coinpayments.net can be used to accept donations. last year i sent the coins i earned here with a twitter campaign

in the country we are running a 1-month campaign to accept 3 cryptos, it's for the Samu social. Not so much but every penny is good to take.
