741  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: whats the new narrative? on: February 08, 2024, 04:26:17 PM
what's the latest narrative circulating in the crypto space these days?

AI and crypto are the latest narratives in the crypto space. The intersection of AI and crypto is gaining traction, some projects are exploring AI trading algorithms and AI-based analysis of blockchain data. I think the next thing that would be trending in the upcoming bull run would be AI-powered cryptocurrencies. Some of them are already trending in the current market condition.

so it's not the ETFs that are to be approved after all?  reading the cointele while also believing what the podcasters are saying makes crypto investors think AI is really going to take over our jobs. not really sure if this is really where things are going, i think the only AI that will dominate is the chatGPT.

but look at what they replaced the cops in NY, they now have Robocops. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DwMqUFADNZw
only to find out these Robocops are going to be assisted 247 by real COP.
742  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you ever introduced an elder gambler to online betting? on: February 07, 2024, 06:17:24 PM

our elders don't give value to the online stuff. even introducing them to digital cash will not work for them so it's a pointless discussion. but show them the real tangible paper money and they'd even check it thoroughly if it's real or counterfeit.

my grandma doesn't go to the casinos however but she sets up a mahjong table just in the yard and asks one of her grandsons to call her friends to come so they can play. they may be able to understand online mahjong games but feeling the blocks with their fingers to identify the pieces is more real to them. it's like a card player holding the cards themselves is way real.
743  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Rich or poor gambler, who should risk more? on: February 07, 2024, 05:44:14 PM
Gambling an activity for fun also has the chance to turn someone's fortune. Calculated risk when taken in gambling can be the way to big wins from gambling. Who do you think should take more risk in gambling? The rich gambler or the gambler who is not yet rich. If a rich gambler takes risks in gambling, they are risking losing money and becoming poor from gambling, or getting richer, when a gambler who is not yet rich gambles, they can also get poorer or richer, so the gambler who should take the risk should be the gambler who can handle the dangers of the risk like losing too. When a rich gambler loses from taking a risk, there is a better chance of them being in a position to manage with the losses, than someone struggling financially who a big loss will really affect. So, I am confused after asking myself this question and answering it, does this mean a poor gambler should continue to play it safe in gambling? With no risk, how can a poor gambler change their fortune in gambling?

Gambling is not about status, it's about fun and that fun have to come from the money you can afford to lose. There is nothing right to gamble high amount of money because you are rich and it doesn't make sense for poor person to bet high, gambling should never be about status but about IQ and skills you have to present to give you hedge to win what you have in mind and if it come, you are won whether big or small, the objective of gambling is for you to win.

What I learn from gambling is that people think when they see gambler that use huge amount of money and win another huge amount of money, they assume you have to use big money to make more money, what they don't study is when this rich people lose money, they lose more but if you look at it critically, that is the amount they know they can lose and wouldn't be affected. A poor person isn't supposed to replicate what rich person is doing in gambling.

the poor also gamble what they can afford to lose which means all of these gamblers know the risk and so they intend to play by the risk they know it's fine ffor their finances not to crumble.

but certainly the poor don't gamble for fun. they took more risks in gambling and the amount they could be putting on the line could mean no money intended for the rent next month. or worse losing a meal.  the rich can just take a loan from their bank or sell assets to cover the loss. they have no problem since they have more assets while the poor work another week to get paid.
744  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Provably Fair- How Can You Know? on: February 07, 2024, 04:20:24 AM
I don't know how casino algorithms work, I just go by gut feeling. When I feel the dealer is constantly dealing bad cards, I prefer to leave the game and choose another game. If it still doesn't work and my luck is still bad then I will change gambling sites. I think all the coding will make the casino more likely to win than the players, but I prefer to play at a casino that has a lot of users.

your gut feeling didn't tell you the casino might just be cheating on you?  the more i feel like the casino is cheating on me when i got the 5 successive losses.
checking the provably fair of the casino to know whether they are really fair would be good to know.

probably to satisfy curiosity, i was also trying to check the game results after learning some accusations to the casinos where users proved the hash didn't match. i didn't try looking or that thread but i know it's there. they wouldn't be creating those verifiers, it must be to clear things up.

746  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: February 06, 2024, 08:17:12 PM
But I should say that rule should be taken out from the book the fighter is not grounded just because his hands were on the ground, they should consider taking it out of the UFC.

every promotion has different rules for this and Nevada has its own too. but the common rule for grounded fighters is that if the hands hold the weight, it is somehow hard to recognize.

Not surprised that Dana used such words for communication, we all know that he is a master of bad words usage whether talking in private, with press or on tv. He is an adult, he can talk like that. Moreover, he is boss and can talk like that. Second - that is a private conversation between two grown ups. They dont have to talk like gentlemen. Third - we do not know how fighters call Dana and other management.

P.S.  You would be amazed how I call (in my head) all the clients that call me and interrupt from forum reading Grin

Some people simply don't understand the hierarchy and say stupid things. Dana White is a great businessman and he knows very well what is the best thing for his business. And he is the owner. So he can do anything. And i don't understand since when the owner of a fighting club/company talking like that had become not tolerable?

We are definitely living in a soft time now. People get butthurt with even the smallest of things. Anyway, i don't think this is going to be any problem for the UFC or dana white. And I also know that he has a lot of connections and he can just fix these things if he is actually in some kind of trouble.

dana made lots of enemies already and those issues in the past that were already buried i think are being dug up because he also chose to be the enemy of Biden's administration.

747  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Myro Putting Smile on its Investors. Which Solana Project Could be Next? on: February 06, 2024, 06:33:37 PM

well, another memecoin that will go up in the bull market. it's insane that new memecoin are listed on big exchanges while the old ones in ADA are not.
anyway so much memecoin already flooding the market and if this is what the regular people are buying which are memecoins, they seriously are in trouble if they keep holding thinking this is like BTC.

748  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: FTX to refund customers at Bitcoin's prices below $18,000 on: February 06, 2024, 06:04:02 PM
It's just drama - they don't really do it and I think mt.gox has had the same drama so far. No one knows for sure when FTX will compensate its customers - but if it does, they should have done so already. If customers are truly compensated – they should get what they deserve. It is unfair for customers to get a refund at price $18K or under - while the asset value has grown by more than 100% at this time.

But there's a saying: It's better to have a little than nothing. It's painful - but it's a middle ground that should perhaps be considered out of good faith. At least affected customers got refunds instead leaving empty-handed.

this is likely what will happen to FTX victims. they will just keep hoping the coins will be refunded until 100 years later, the owners will have no chance of being able to verify their IDs.

i think the mt.gox victims were hoping for years and almost every cycle, they were promised to send to them.  FTX will not be very different from mt.gox, they have it figured after all the victims can do nothing if they won't return the funds.  no offense.
749  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the next step for Solana? on: February 06, 2024, 04:12:43 PM

outage has been SOL's issue since.  but it didn't stop the investors from buying SOL. while the network has been halted the price wasn't affected very much too. this kind of news is normally used to spread fud, no one does that in the forum anymore. the next step is to restart, its what they said.

if ETH suffers high fees, i think SOL will also haave the same problem once the price goes higher.

750  Economy / Reputation / Re: What happens if someone sells an account on a neighboring forum? on: February 05, 2024, 09:21:26 PM

negative karma will happen to that account. the buyer would be smart enough to learn that a teleported account means the real one is in BTT.  those teleported accounts are just the extensions of the accounts in here.

thats why the admin there does want the link to remain as proof that you handle the account. i saw one from telegram that his account username was registered in altcoin talk. he is looking closely at the account.
751  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will government recognition kill cryptocurrency or boost! on: February 05, 2024, 09:07:37 PM
...

Therefore, as long as cryptocurrency is out of legal obligation in the era of hype its fans will continue to be attracted to it but from the day it enters the institutional investment framework the investor's attraction to it will decrease. All things considered it would be better for Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies rather than getting into mainstream or institutional investment structures.

Bitcoin or other digital currencies have a rebellious image because they are outside of government control. But when it comes under government regulatory agency, Bitcoin will no longer have that rebellious image. And will be counted as one of the ten institutional investment sector.

I do not support the emergence of bitcoin ETFs, it is the same as making bitcoin worthless, just imagine how many bitcoins they can create, they are not real bitcoin.
real bitcoin is bitcoin that you buy on an exchange and then put it in your personal bitcoin wallet, while bitcoin ETF does not have a flow like that, bitcoin ETF will only make the price of bitcoin stagnant and not have a definite increase cmiiw.
We often hear about supply and demand, if the supply is large then the price will be small, that is what will happen to Bitcoin, if the quantity is large (more than 21 million)

this issue was raised before but its not for us to decide about it. the government will do whatever it wants unless it doesn't serve its purpose. ETF serves and even when they are saying there is a custodial exchange, i don't think they count when the government itself does the crimes.

it will boost the cryptocurrency market, given the right time, especially after halving. things still rely on the government and its controlled media.
they could also kill crypto after all they can buy up all and the institutions they put up now owns miners.
752  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What memecoins are you holding atm? on: February 05, 2024, 07:19:19 PM
Many of you know that memecoins are all the rage right now, but with so many to choose from, it can be hard to know which ones are worth investing in. If you're thinking about jumping on memecoin, it's important to do your research and understand the risks involved.
So personally, I'm currently holding two memecoins that I believe have the potential for significant growth: $WIF and $BABYDRAGON.

I know we are all going for the gains in memecoins, so I currently have these two, which can possibly give me some gains. And $BABYDRAGON is one of the memecoin I'm  looking out for most, since it has some momentum and is about to be introduced to platforms like Bitget market, with potential opportunity for an uptrend.

You guys can also give me suggestions on memecoins, like what key factors should I consider before investing in it?

I actually don't like memecoins, but I also have only 2 memecoins, namely doge and shiba. I have been buying them in installments little by little since last year. Moreover, these two dog coins are Elon Musk's favorite coins which can be said to be doge father. I'm sure this dog coin will be I hope it will have its golden years again, just like in 2021

yep you hated memecoins that you invested in 2 of them.

if anyone heard it before. SNEK meme token in Cardano became popular before BONK, its price also tanked high before it sunk. but because the bull run of altcoins hasn't started yet i think we can see SNEK once gain above when the market goes green again.  i'm stacking up some SNEK. i'm thinking it will also going to be the one that will make me a millionaire.  Grin
753  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It's stupidity to have thousands in Bitcoin using a software wallet on: February 05, 2024, 07:08:17 PM
if you plan to hold the coins for a long time, it will be worth storing them in cold storage. its been the suggestion since time.

but the adoption of BTC makes people just use the wallets they download from google play already. it's enough as long as they can import their wallets elsewhere if needed. every day we send transactions all the time, i guess you will just be spending fees if you use the cold wallets. right now, some of my coins are stored in the app.  i can transfer BTC faster to my local currency wallet this way.
754  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is there any service that I could use to add deposits for cryptocurrencies? on: February 05, 2024, 06:46:25 PM

he is looking for opensource project, my guess is a wallet to which he must have bought coins from a gateway through his credit card. since you are asking for a wallet with a wide variety of altcoins, i think there are lots of these already.  Electrum and Mycelium are both supporting tokens already. a fee of $1 or 2 seems reasonable. but why ask for a 3rd party while you are about to send them to a CEX?

you can just send those BTC and tokens to the exchange without having to send them to a 3rd party no worries about transaction fees.
755  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: FTX to refund customers at Bitcoin's prices below $18,000 on: February 05, 2024, 06:01:29 PM

it's like they doubling down their scam for refunding at such a low price.
but i wouldn't be complaining anymore if i was among those users who were scammed. the money will still be useful to them but FTX resuming its operation is probably not going to work anymore. they have caused the most stressful years of the victim's life and they are going to try scamming once again.

they are not even seeing a real verdict to the case. could this be part of the plea?
756  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Many traders will lose soon a lot the ftx 2.0 is ready on: February 05, 2024, 05:40:18 PM
lol whichever exchange this is, it will only happen after the bull run, we are safe until you won't withdraw your coins from that exchange whichever that exchange is.

ftx2.0 = unknown.   crypto.com?
if the same modus, it's this exchange that comes to my mind, almost the same promotion, and have bought arena also. nothing else besides this one. if there is something they save for the last attempt i guess its crypto.com.
757  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Any airdrops you are anticipating this year? on: February 05, 2024, 03:45:40 PM

there is an anticipated airdrop to ADA holders, it was hyped last year but it's still not being distributed up to this day. disappointing already for those who tried buying more ADA ffor such purpose. the token is $DUST. they said its a privacy token in their blockchain which was announced by Charles himself. so far there is nothing yet that was sent.

Man — I'm tracking A LOT that I'm having troubles tracking them all.

HyperLiquid, Azuro, Blast, Grass, Parcl, MarginFi, Kamino, zkSync, Linea, Scroll, Wormhole. There are some others but these are my bets where I'm quite confident it will amount to something decent.

Let me also add Starknet, Mode, Orderly, Taiko, Cashmere, Polyhedra, Holograph, Base, Zerolend, Milkyway, Jumpa lifi, Engenlayer, Woofi, and the list goes on. There are a lot of tokenless projects and are anticipate they will have a token soon. It is hard to be able to farm and keep up with all so it becomes necessary to narrow it down to the ones that will be more profitable with minimum funds to farm hopefully.  Grin

it's those tokenless projects that is already expected by those who have gotten UNI though. and i guess they are already trying those dexes because of it.  Grin
758  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I want to present the previous history of Bitcoin to the general public through. on: February 04, 2024, 08:23:40 PM

a common man would be more interested in how they can buy Bitcoin with cash?, this i think because they don't have bank accounts. a regular person would likely want to have some BTC after learning people got rich because of it.

another topic that a common man may be interested is "How can I turn BTC into cash."
a very common question from the very common man. these common men somehow are not interested in knowing history, they only want to know how to invest.
759  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: There is nothing like it since the past 12 years on: February 04, 2024, 06:21:34 PM

Because since the past 12 years, there is no investment that does it better than Bitcoin, you can't find anything like this anywhere else, it's worth every fight and hustle, but your journey will be way easier if you have a source of income, don't give up, always give your best short, you are on the right path.

First of all, well done for sticking it through and keep believing in your dream. Without a job and no steady income it must have been especially hard to keep investing in Bitcoin. But you kept going and now you earn the reward for taking the risks. I do agree with you that bitcoins are a great investment for anybody and that every portfolio should own some coins. The problem with looking at long time periods in bitcoin is that the price increased so much. People who look at the price 10 years ago might get unhealthy expectations about the future. We are living now in a completely different world. Everybody knows about bitcoin and it's much harder to make 100% return today than it was several years ago. Investors who don't hold any bitcoin yet, need to be realistic with their return expectations. Otherwise this will only lead to disappointment and premature sales. The longer the time frame the more profitable a hodling strategy for Bitcoin. So, if you have some spare money today and don't need it, buy some bitcoin, forget about it and look in 12 years at it again.

holding it for 12 years is too much. one has to sell especially in the bull market. it's not good for him not to learn to trade even at the time when the cycle renews.
but i got to pat the back of OP for having such dedication eating one meal a day and investing in BTC while jobless. this forum offers a great opportunity though.

i'm sure it's not just him who looks at BTC as their only way. i am close to an age where no company will accept me as a delivery man or a driver. i have no wealth but BTC too.
760  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Investment in gambling on: February 04, 2024, 05:51:03 PM

does the ponzi platform allow you to see how many participants?  i would be surprised because these scammers are greedy.

i think OP is just playing around though
seeing he is just sending a small amount and he gets back half of his capital in 3 days too. i think it's worth the gamble by the result of it. who knows he could get as much as 10x of his capital before the ponzi finally ponzis.
