741  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Vs Ethereum on: October 01, 2017, 09:33:29 AM
If you compare the two main cryptocurrency, namely Bitcoin and Ethereum, which one has the most promising future?
In terms of evolution, Bitcoin reached a maximum of roughly 4800$, whereas Ethereum reached roughly 394$: in other words, it is a potential increase of 33 % for Ethereum, but only 24% for Bitcoin.

If you are only using that calculation as a basis to determine which one is better in the two option, then you will be wrong in two ways

1. You only compare at a point in time and not over time. Which means at that point, the percentage might be favorable to ethereum but over the years bitcoin is better off and don't also forget the way bitcoin has been a subject of target over time.

2. You also did not consider the one that takes most hit in times of crash with that put together you can make a decisive decision.
742  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I stll don't know what to do with my Bitcoins... on: October 01, 2017, 08:53:05 AM
Besides keeping it to raise in value later. There is not much I can do...

With fiat money, I can pay rent, go to restaurants, buy clothes. But with BTC, there is basically no stores that accept them in my country. Sure it's easier online, but then again the stores might not have the best products or is the cheapest/best value.

Am I the only one facing this issue?

After reading several suggestions from others I think keeping it alone is doing something with it and its even much more valuable than spending it and in the long run you be the one that will enjoy it because by the time there is more freedom to spend in your country of residence which is what will happen eventually, you get you have much more than enough to spend at the time but I still feel you need to explore several opportunities that have been suggested.
743  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I told my grandma to put all her lifesavings in Bitcoin because you guys said on: September 29, 2017, 08:12:14 PM
it will only go up. She bought at $4200 Sad
How soon can we REALISTICALLY see $4200 again and upwards?

After looking at the timing in which this post was made and now, I realised it was just about 15 days interval in which a lot of things have happened and I think the most important thing we investors in bitcoin lack is patience because I don't think there is any investment one can do outside the crypto industry and expect it to turn out to be massive in a matter of days and not even years. I am sure if your Grandma would wait for a minimum of six months, she would be glorious for this kind of advice that was offered to her.
744  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Buying clothes with bitcoins? on: September 28, 2017, 01:59:18 PM
If my country should eventually consider bitcoin as an option or a major retail store whether offline or online should consider it, I would definitely give it a trial. But what I won't do is to order from abroad where I won't get to evaluate what I want to buy and the same time not able to return it. For this reason, I would prefer to convert my btc to fiat and use it to buy whatever I want to buy around here.
745  Other / Off-topic / Re: Are bitcoins only for the educated and knowledgeable people only? on: September 27, 2017, 08:25:33 PM
With all sincerity, the way it is now, I won't say knowledgeable because you don't have to be educated to be full if knowledge and use bitcoin but on the minimum one must have some level of education to even be able to use a phone to its maximum capacity before going to the phase of internet in which bitcoin solely rely upon. Education is key at this time and until bitcoin gets to be used offline, it might have to  still be limited to the current structure.
746  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How long should it last? on: September 24, 2017, 06:58:57 PM
I have already seen a lot of topics related to the fake google ads on this forum month ago but after disabling adblock i still see those ads. Anyone knows if google gave any official respond regarding this issue?

Even though Google is meant for business and this ads brings money to them, there is need to be some form of ethics for Google and they should know the real one from the clone ones out there to rob people about their resources but unfortunately there is nothing to do about it except an individual should be more careful about sites he visits. Anyone could have fallen for that scam sites because its the first one that came out and even until a more look at the spelling before seeing that its really different.
747  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: is it possible? on: September 24, 2017, 04:00:10 PM
There is really nothing impossible in this world. The route to it might be makes it seems impossible but with faith, tenacity and dedication in no time, it becomes possible in our own eyes and this can be likened to bitcoin which has surpassed several obstacle in the past in which people have casted doubt on its possibility but eventually, it's made possible because of the calibre of people it has been able to attract.
748  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to start correctly? on: September 24, 2017, 01:38:53 PM
Experienced people, what can you tell for beginners before buying bitcoin?
After all, the right first steps - this is the key to success, in any case.

For finding your way to the forum instead of coming after you might have been bitten is really a good one that I must commend you for. Now that you are here, be ready to learn because there are several sources here with people with the amount of knowledge about how the entire block chain and bitcoin, the trade, the government, and even the other crytocurrency works than you can imagine.

When you do this, you then decide whether this where you want to be or moving forward.
749  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: After China & Russia, now India on: September 24, 2017, 12:45:50 PM

India’s Government Agencies Still Have ‘Concerns’ About Bitcoin

Indian officials revealed last week that the country’s tax agency and investigation task force have concerns about money laundering and black market activities associated with bitcoin. India’s Special Investigation Team (SIT) is in the midst of drafting a report detailing problematic issues regarding the decentralized cryptocurrency.

What do you think?

The same thing will always result in all their report which will be to either

1. They go the coward way, by saying banning everything that are related to bitcoin, from website to exchange site and several others or

2. To regulate which might be much more difficult for country like India.

Aside those two options, I don't see any other outcomes of all of their meeting, discussions, committees etc.
750  Economy / Services / Re: Condition of participating any signer campaign. on: September 24, 2017, 10:09:24 AM
When a member can participate any signer campaign at bitcointalk.
A quick look at your post history shows you really need to do more to be accepted into a campaign and its not only about the rank. Managers will want to know how effective you contribute to a discussion before hiring you but in real sense you not really done much in that regard and not because of you but even the manager's reputation on the line.

You are on the right thread mate! Just always be on the look out for any signature campaign that is accepting participants of your membership rank. However, for you to be accepted in any signature campaign, your previous posts must have been constructive and on topic, not just looking spammy.
Simply put, try as much as possible to always drop more than 150 character lengthy statements that are constructive and not just jargons

Looking at your past posts right now, and if I were to be a campaign manager, I wouldn't accept you into any signature campaign. That is the gospel truth, so work on your posts to increase your chances when you finally get one.

Hi good day sir Haroldtee let me also know my current status in applying in a campaign,  if you are a campaign manager will you accept me in your signature campaign?

In this case, all I would say is there is room for improvement because the decision to hire rest largely on what the manager deems qualifies as quality posts but if you can improve, then you can get a spot.

752  Economy / Economics / Re: What will happen if we use a one currency only? on: September 23, 2017, 08:05:56 AM
One currency? This would be a landmark achievement but the practicability of it is what I am not envisaging happening in that even if government is ready to implement such (which is likely impossible), I don't see how citizens will accept because of the religious connotations that will bring and what people attach to such prophecy and its implications as well.
753  Economy / Economics / Re: Let's make Bitcoin's Price Higher on: September 23, 2017, 06:42:28 AM
I just wonder, where bitcoin depends its value/price.

Don't we have the power to make its value higher?

If we have, what can we do to make bitcoin's price become higher?

Let's talk about it here. Maybe we can help each other to achieve what we want in bitcoins.

I agree that our effort could change things in the direction we wanted but the area where that won't matter is the volume we all own while a lot could be own by members of the forum, a lot more is owned by non-members of the forum or inactive members of the forum which might eventually rendered the effort useless.

Also, from the moral standpoint some people will see it as a form of manipulation of the market which will make it the exercise ends in futility.

755  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Will Bitcoin will be declare as legal or not ? on: September 22, 2017, 08:41:30 PM
What I see in all this is that countries are actually sitting on the fence on the issue of whether to declare illegal. Rather they choose the word ban because that would mean they can wake up tomorrow and spin the news that it is now unban or that citizens can now participate after they meet some certain conditions. However, no one actually knows but what I am sure is that they are equally observing the way things are going.
756  Other / Off-topic / Re: world without bitcoins......!!!1 on: September 22, 2017, 08:18:54 PM
No one needs to worry about small countries banning bitcoin and other crypto. Their contribution is nothing compared to China and the US.

You are right on point and that is why the bad news from China has overshadowed the other great news from other countries that we have heard in the past few days but not even changing things. But I think its all good in that by the time the Chinese exit, then the ones in bitcoin don't have the dominance to change things then it means that we don't have another Chinese in our hands and that's when proper decentralization begin to happen because of the fragmentation of control into several countries.
757  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: What would people face in china if they buy crypto ? on: September 22, 2017, 07:55:51 PM
What would people face in china if they buy crypto ?

I'm certain that they will not face the wall of a prison cell. The pronouncement about banning ICO and closing exchanges is not pointed to citizens of that country but to marketing side. You can still buy bitcoin, Chinese friend of mine told me but through other means. And I think china just want to regulate this kind of investments for they're people's protection from scammed ICO.

If this is the case then there is really no cause for alarm but come to think of it whats will be the point of owning a bitcoin that I cannot convert to fiat for use since stores don't accept bitcoin yet, and government is coming again to ban the middle men that could made it possible. Wouldn't that mean the same thing as banning bitcoin within the country? All the same, I am anxiously waiting on the Chinese members of the community to give updates on the implementation of this policy.
758  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How are you hedging the upcoming Segwit2x fork? on: September 22, 2017, 06:07:50 PM
It is probably a baked in reality at this point the we will have 3 Bitcoins in a few months after BTC forks again into a Legacy BTC and 2x BTC. This fork is looking to be more tumultuous than the BCH fork and we don't even know the details of any upcoming fork yet.

How are you going to hedge this event? Buy LTC? ETH? XMR? DASH? maybe BCH?

I hate all this childish bickering, but we should all start to place our hedges.

The details will surely come in the coming days and I am sure the reason why there is no much discussion on the matter is because the community is still concerned about recovery of bitcoin price, the September 30 rumored plan or bitcoin exchange sites in China, the ICO ban thing and several other things taking our attention and maybe that's why the promoters too are taking their time not to come out with that because it won't be the best time really. But when the dust settles, and the day is near, more information will roll.out.
759  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you ever recieve payment by mistake? on: September 22, 2017, 05:35:47 PM
I have not received neither have I send to someone and its because I try to e very careful on the address I am sending to when ever I want to send one and aside from the copy and pasting of address, I still go ahead and do high level review of whether the address pasted is actually the one copied  before I send and I guess that's what other people do too which account for why I have not received any payment by mistake or omission.
760  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is DeepOnion a good altcoin? on: September 21, 2017, 12:10:59 PM
Depending on how you look at this, there will always be divergent views on projects like this even the ones that have turned out to be a massive success. A thread like this (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2066048.0) will give an insight on how you make decision on which option to go for in deciding whether you want to go for it or not. Although, I have read the developers response on an another thread, but the decision is yours.
