761  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Zoin - Privacy Based Zerocoin Protocol. NIX airdrop June 6th,2018 :1 ZOI = 2 NIX on: June 07, 2018, 07:39:05 PM
It's pretty clear that 90% or more of people in crypto are just idiot speculators looking to make a quick buck, and have no actual care about that long term potential and use cases for the coin. They just blindly follow the herd straight off the cliff hoping they'll get rich...

Since you are a newbee I will explain to you how things work down here in coin hell.

In fact it is a swap from ZOI to NIX which was announced weeks before the snapshoot. No surprise. Enought time to exit at 2,20 or 2,40. Before the snapshoot most people think like this: okay, the price is 100 cent (for example), I will take NIX, but sell ZOI after the snapshoot. This means, after the snapshoot the price will drop to 50 cent for example, because there are more seller than buyer. But you have the right to claim NIX worth 50 cent.

50 + 50 = 100

ZOI has dropped 50%, looks bad, but you lost maybe nothing because you got the right to claim NIX at a later time. If NIX is worth 30 later on, you lost money. If NIX is valued 60, you made a good deal.

Understand ?

Think.

<-- merrit !

lol nix could be worth peanuts who knows if 50 + 50 = 100 or 50 lol, its not even real yet.  the issue is there was never even a small zoin pump which shows interesrt in nix is near zero

They just blindly follow the herd straight off the cliff hoping they'll get rich... (Which I'm fine with if there is actual profit to be made.........but there was never even a pump, why would you sell Zoin at such a Loss? In my opinion once it got under a dollar it was stupid to dump  it. I'm hoping the same won't happen to NIX.

It's also pretty clear that the ZOI/NIX, despite being very talented and capable as Developers..............they absolutely SUCK at marketing their product, there should have been way more hype and attention from the crypo-community. But its still like nobody's even heard of this thing. This should have been the biggest story in crypto today but nothing. Undecided

Didn't the NIX devs say the only way to get nix officially was to buy zoin and keep it in your wallet? So how the hell are people gonna buy it who never had zoin. I'm confused cause they said they will be announcing exchanges with NiX. If you can buy NIX with cash or btc what the whole point of this Snapshot BS.
selling for .60 cents down .40 only ppl with free coins or premine do that

Massive dump since last night, was to be expected, but some might be surprised by the drop.

i expect a dump but the problem was it never got a pump !!
whick makes the dump even more significant, why would you sell for so much lower than buys

there is something wrong sometimes with the miner after a dev fee it starts not propperly connecting to stratump and starts using curl commands

please look into this

I used to mine RVN with R9 280x and RX 570 with avermore 1.2 on windows 7. But on windows 10, my RX 570 is not starting at all and declared sick. I tried 1.4 still the same problem but my R9 280x is doing fine.

yeah same here having lots of issues with stability and this is with a powerlim of -25
770  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 8th Alt coin thread. Or what to do now that asics are all over the place. on: June 04, 2018, 06:30:39 AM
lets talk about pool diffculity

I found that the pool on var diff sets diff at around 8-120 for my 8 card rigs , but i have noticed that some lower hash rate miners
say 40mhs to my 120 mhs  are getting double the amount of shares !

snip

so should i be setting the diff for that 100mhs rig way lower like 50 or something?

its such a crapshoot though;  if block times roll by quickly;  sometimes some machines get more of a chance to get a submission in over others....

Ping time, and latency... oah latency can be a thorn.  Working from cellular connections:  I feel the pain.  Lots of long term tests for finding appropriate difficulties to run when I get high packet loss regularly is a tough thing to swallow.

Some algos act funny such as when mining xevan, I was able to set one rig at half the difficulty and still get the same server side hashrate of a rig twice as powerful.. seemingly about half of the time.   now, they were weak rigs compared to the "industry", but they taught me that luck is an ever changing and un-predictable factor....  scaling up, just exacerbates the readings during the short-term blocks.   Coins with long term blocks/hashes are a different story.

And, good job on the pool Marvell2.  I myself have yet to get a yiimp code properly configured to interface with a coin daemon....  hats off Wink

Glad the no-ip DNS name helps;  its been a life saver for me, and has helped me recover a laptop in the past as well.   I suggest it to everyone here wanting a nice free customize-able DNS name for their dynamic IP device(s).... all you need from there is to open up some external ports on your router for <insert activity here>.  Sorry for skewing the topic further on the tangent.

Back on topic:

Eff Bitmain  Grin

@JaredKaragan glad you like the pool, I was glad for your dns help too , its a basic yiimp install, the harder part is getting other coins and wallets
we want to instamine, proton, pigeon, reden and moon.

i had a server working with all those coins last week but i mesed something up had to start over.
in one day i think we mined 20 blocks of reden lol, I can’t wait to try again this weekend

i think us gpu guys neen more small easy projects like this to maximize our earnings
theres so many factors against us we cant have pools skimming too.  I havw no issues with a low 1% fee but then to not ever pay those 130% and 150 % block days like ever? reeks of. theft imo.

I tried to join your discord a few times to get the pool address but the link expired
i sent you a new link, doing pretty good today 4 blocks

https://discord.gg/BKke54

thats a new link, btw I a am bringing down the server for a few hours to add another coin we will instamine for a day or so , ill post coin info in discord
771  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Any word on amd vega hash rates? on: June 04, 2018, 06:25:00 AM
Any word on Adrenalin 18.5.1 improving hash rates over older drivers?

does for vega fe, 2200 - 2400 h/s, better than bc drivers

I have two vega fes, do you use the same power play mod as the vega 64s?
i have not tried the new drivers but with powerplau mod and the ulps hack im
using same power play mods for all my cards

No, there is no SoC limit so I whack the mem speed up as high as possible, haven't tuned for power yet
you mean the mem setting on overdriven tool? what do you have it set to

-G 2 does not work on systems with more than six cards , whats another option for that ?

2 instances of sgminer

tried that it just crashes

I also had the line -d 0,1,2,3

to try and start the first instance
and the second with -d 4,5.. ?

switched to the other miner fork for now
773  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ALLMINE INC - FPGA Cryptominer on: June 03, 2018, 09:14:00 AM
yeah software for amd cards still needs alot of work, only idiots were expecting 100 mhs in eth we expected 50 to 60mhs we were not too far off.  I’m taking a wait and see approach with your gear but the xilink cards in the other thread are 5k with a 3 week leadtime and supposedly easier to program than yours , 2k or 3k with heavy expertise needed is pretty much a wash with 5k and fire and forget

I'm not quite sure I understand. They're the same card.

not your software smh , the mining software kernels for vega
774  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ALLMINE INC - FPGA Cryptominer on: June 03, 2018, 07:50:13 AM
how it's possible to have 100x gpu power efficiency? at best it could be 10x and surely lower against the new gpu that nvidia is making, 100x maybe vs the old 970...

It depends on the algo. But for some, ya, 100x gpu efficiency might be possible. It's usually around 20-50x compared against current high end gpus.

Already sold out!?!?!?!?!

We haven't started taking orders

at 5k a pop i would keep my $$ and wait for volta and vega 20

They're not 5K a pop. We haven't released pricing information yet. Hoping to do so next week. Regarding the rest, I'll wait to see their performance with my own eyes. Everyone was freaking out about the vega thinking it was going to get 100Mh/s on ethereum and 100 Kh/s on cryptonote. Even after all of the optimizations they're still only using like 60% of the memory bandwidth.

i heard its useless at least for now on these x16 forks anyways

btw you cab still buy the board directly frim xlinink and I agree

volta out in a month is 2x more powerful than pastacl , half the tdp

the. vega 20 out next year 3 to 4x more powerful than the current vegas or at least the
rx series with hbm more available too. again half the tdp

remever the current gen of gpu cards are close to end of life production

at 5k a pop i would keep my $$ and wait for volta and vega 20

better yet buy crypto with that 5k and get at leat a double by next year

now if you are a whale or big time miner with stack of $$ sitting on the sideline

a rig of these would worth the risk, I suspect that is who the fpga and asic audience

is anyways

Whats happen with hashrate of ETN, i see fast increase and 1500mh again
Any idea about this

its not updating properly due to the lack of miners
777  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Electroneum - After the fork on: June 02, 2018, 01:15:41 PM
This is a difficult one. There are a few problems right now. Empty blocks, low hashpower for the difficulty, time between blocks is very high. You normally do not get paid until a block is mined. Since the pool has not found a block, you are not going to see a payment. The hope is that the pool finds the block and the Bonus system that is currently in place will pay out and you will be compensated for your mining effort.

I've been on it sice the start and still have 0 due from hashvault pool despite over 6000 accepted shares.  any help would be appreciated.

This can only mean one thing. The network difficulty hasn't been adjusted for the new, much lower overall hash power. Shouldn't the developers have considered this fact before the hard fork? They could have roughly estimated the new hash power and reduced the difficulty accordingly.

etn devs are simply retarded...its not the first time they failed a fork
monero didn’t do that either , it took over a week for diff to adjust, just gotta be patient
