781  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Centralised exchange getting better than Decentralised exchange? on: October 21, 2023, 09:03:58 PM
It's all preferences really.  There are good and bad dexs' and good and bad cexs'.  It's just what people are looking for.  The problem with centralized exchanges really is that people tend to use them as theor personal wallets which is where hacks impacts the ecosystem.  If people use exchanges like they should, meaning on board crypto trade then offload into a wallet where only you control the keys than centralized exchanges wouldn't be all that bad.
782  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Nigeria socialite went all in on this sport bet on: October 21, 2023, 08:58:29 PM
Honestly that's like someone who isn't all that Rick betting $100 on a game.  It's all relative.  And for rich people they can afford to have these losses and move on like nothing happened.  It just seems like a lot to the average person because that is life changing money.  But to a billionaire they will make that money back on interest in one of theor investments in a week.

Will you leave gambling if your future wife/husband tells you to do this ?

I mean if it's a deal breaker for them and they won't stay with you over it then yeah if ypu love her/him why wouldn't you?  If gambling is worth more than the one ypu love then you need to check your addiction out and possibly get help.  If it's not an issue in your life then maybe have that conversation with them first to see if there is some possible middle ground like a set dollar amount or something.
784  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is Islamic Coin? A Muslim Community Coin 🔥 on: October 21, 2023, 07:00:38 PM
It must be noted that if this coin has been making a big event for airdrop hunters yet the airdrop reward has not been distributed. It's caused by there was also vesting period implemented by the developers. The price is slowly going down again after it was getting massive pump.
I have some friends who participated in this airdrop and they were being eligible for around 1k ISLM coin. Im sure that the price will be dumped so hard once the unlocked token will available to be sold by the hunters.
I remind you that if the supply of this coin is also really big at this moment. It can also become another factor why this coin will be dumping in the future.

There are still many tokens locked this time but as per the schedule if the more tokens to be unlocked gradually.

I was so pissed to a point that I thought ISLM marketing was turning to daily spam, my twitter, my instagram and facebook, they literally occupied everywhere but look at their price today, they seems like the usuall ICO token that promises heaven and earth in another life but when you look deeply, they are just another typical ERC-20 usual token that are launch everyday on Ethereum and BSC.

It seems there has also been a lawsuit that was file a week ago by Dubai virtual asset regulatory that they don't know and don't have any relationship with ISLM. It seems that the teams were using Dubai residents and prominents people to push the token for marketing before the launch and trading which was misleading because that is impersonation that could even bring down the project in the future if the team were to be investigated, no wonder the price has been crashing.

In addition, the token is basically listed on 4 exchange, $2M volume with a fully dilluted valuation of $4B, if tokens were to be unluck, I doubt if the two exchanges are going to able to handle that supply, the price will further slide down.

It's just like almost every coin out tthere. Only created to enrich the creators and theor inner circle.  Remer the old poker saying if you can't spot the fish at the table then you are the fish.  The same applies to altcoins.  If you arent in any of these inner circles then just consider yourself as liquidity for these people.  Easy way around it?  Stay away from all these types of "projects".
785  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you gamble because you don't have sufficient money? on: October 21, 2023, 06:54:46 PM
I was in argument with someone. His view is that people who gamble are those that what they have is not sufficient for them and so they try to make more money from gambling. He said if you have sufficient money to take care of your needs that you won't think of gambling. He made reference to some rich people, who don't gamble because they have sufficient money to even gift to charity but that those rich who still gamble are only addicted to it not just because of the money. Therefore, that the percentage of the rich gambling is very small compared to those in middle class and lower class.

So my question is, is the percentage of the rich gambling lower than the middle and lower class?

I'd say it's the opposite.  People with more than enough money could really just use gambling as a form of entertainment.  I think people with "not enough money" can't gamble at the rate rich people can.  There is also the ruts of losing for those without money too.  If you are rich you can have an extended losing streak much easier than someone who isnt.
786  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 21, 2023, 06:15:37 PM
Speaking of the Warriors, Wemby had a pretty nice highlight tonight swatting Klay Thompson and then getting a monster dunk on a fast break the other way. It was impressive.
Like what people are saying on social media, is he an alien? A few more years and development of his muscle, he's gonna be an absolute beast inside the court.

Yeah he is. I think the Spurs tanking for the season last year has paid off. Though some people has doubt this kid's ability in the NBA, but I don't think he's a bust. With that height and skills he'd be unstoppable in the next 2-3 years.
Imagine buffing himself up just like how Giannis buffed himself, he'd definitely be unstoppable a little better than the freak of nature.
Now, the next step for the Spurs is to build a team around Wemby and surely they'll be back in the playoff picture again.

I don't think anyone is doubting Wembanyama's ability, he's got everything that is needed to thrive in the league, I believe what most people are saying, at least speaking for myself is that we can't expect a Jokic or Giannis-esque from him right from his first season, he's got a lot of potentials but it's not going to be a day work, Giannis and Jokic aren't were they are today by their first season.

Agreed its unfair for people to compare to those types of players.  Jokic and giannis are perennial mvp candidates and "best in the world" conversation.  People need to let the kid play and see where he lands in terms of the conversation.  After seeing him in the preseason I'm just excited to see him take the court.  Wonder what the ratings will be for the kids first game.
787  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you find new meme coins early? on: October 20, 2023, 09:54:23 PM
I think this topic should be how do I steer clear of every meme coin.  99.9% of these you will end up losing money what's the point of even trying g to dig through all this crud.  Most are just copy paste clones with a different meme behind it.  No point just pure greed driving this market.  How about looking for a real viable project?
788  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 20, 2023, 09:51:15 PM
The Lakers and the Suns facing off was a cool game to watch. Both teams seemed to lack something. The Suns in particular seemed to have guys out there on the floor that shouldn’t be playing in an NBA game. I thought Nurkic looked good but some of the Suns smaller defenders looked lost out there when facing up against bigger players like LeBron.

As I see it, the main point of preseason games is to get the main players of the teams warmed up before the regular season and also to give the bench players some playing time on the court. That way, the bench players have some opportunity to prove themselves, while the coaches can decide who should play in the NBA and who shouldn't.

I hope so. The less Grayson Allen I see on the court the better. He has no business being in the NBA with his dirty play style and I hate seeing him on my home team.

Just a few more days until the season kicks off now. I can tell you that I will for sure be spending Tuesday night watching the guys on TNT kick off another year of NBA basketball.

I know back in his college days at Duke he was.  Watched plenty of his games and wasn't fond of his style.  Surprised actually coach k pit up with it.  Since he has been buried on the Bucks I really haven't been following.  But is he really still that dirty of a player I thought he cleaned a lot of that up.  He is decent for 15 minutes off the bench as an 8 or 9 guy off the bench.
789  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: An agent is no where to be found. on: October 20, 2023, 09:48:42 PM
Today I witness something very strange in the area where I live recently. There was a gambling shop that was not too far from where I am staying, so every day different gamblers visit the shop to bet on games, some win and some don't win a dime.

So, yesterday afternoon, a man bet on a midnight game and the game played accordingly as predicted, but the surprising thing was that the betting agent ran away with the money the man won, and the betting agent is no where to be found.

However, I am here to say these are the reasons why it is not always good to gamble in a betting agent's shop, because if the manager of the shop does not run with the money a gambler wins, then one of the workers in the betting shop might run away with the money someone wins, so I do conclude that an online gambling site with good reputation is the best for gambler, so what do you guys have to say about this?.

I don't know about any of this doesn't sound like a legit shop.  Is this more like a bookie and not a physical shop?  In the US not any shop can just set up.  But yeah with bookie's and illegal gambling ypu are taking risk that you won't ever get paid out.  There are plenty of legit ways to bet with little to no risk so not sure why anyone would bet this way anymore.
790  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Much do you Value your Privacy in Gambling? on: October 20, 2023, 11:54:05 AM
If you don't trust the casino enough to give them your information if and when you win big then I would never play there to begin with.  Is'nt the whole point of playing those long shot odds to win the "big one".  Pretty simple to me no trust no play period.  I'd recommend the same for anyone else too.
791  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 20, 2023, 11:49:42 AM
He needs to make it his team and use every opportunity to make them realize that they throw the wrong player out.
He couldn't have done that; the Warriors made a well-thought-out decision. If only Poole had a strong playoff performance last season, he probably wouldn't have been traded. Unfortunately, he showed the opposite of what he displayed during their championship run, and that left the team with no choice but to trade him.

It seems like both sides are content, and it appears to be a win-win situation.

A single season of bad performance in the playoffs is usually not a ground for a team to trade or let go of someone they believe is a potential. There should be something not told in public by the Warriors' management. Or it could be that they saw CP3 as a golden opportunity more than Poole hence the trade.

Fans are divided on the trade but it is what it is. This is a blessing in disguise for Poole to show what he is as a player since the Wizards do not have a superstar. We'll find out soon if he is a superstar potential or just a support type of player.

It's no secret, Poole and green literally got into a punching match.  Klay steph and draymond are tight it just wasn't going to work.  And on top of it you can't pay everyone so Poole was the odd man out.  Golden state thrives on chemistry.  Fit in with those 3 or see your way to the door.
792  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoin's Price Surges and Drops Unexpectedly on: October 19, 2023, 08:45:02 PM
Allarket manipulation.  This was all just that, and shouldn't listen to it. I expect bitcoin to creep up organically these things are blips in that timeline and should be ignored.  In terms of bitcoin and doge going inversely that's real bad for dogecoin in that usually alts go up the same as bitcoin because of the main bitcoin pairings.

I think this is a sign that London is getting closer and closer to having their own NFL team (mark my words Europe will have a team in 10-15 years tops.

With the current structure of Conferences and Divisions adding teams would only happen if they could add 8 teams all at once and go to 18-game regular season.  I imagine there have been talks to do just that, and adding teams from other countries would only make sense.  Canada, Mexico, England, and Germany would all make good markets for the NFL in my opinion.

The logistics in that is a nightmare.  These teams hate playing 1 game even over there.  The jet lag and timezones are killer with weekly games.  I mean I know the nfl would love it but just not sure the owners would agree to it.  I think something like that has to pass through the owners for vote too right?
794  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 19, 2023, 08:36:36 PM
I still can't believe that we are already at the start of the 2023-24 NBA season.  When the notification popped up on my TV showing that the Bucks were facing off against my Bulls, I was just shocked at how quickly the offseason went.

I can't wait to see how well Wembanyama does in the NBA.  He's super skinny so I hope to see him gain some weight.  He can still be great and all (look at Kevin Durant), but some weight would certainly help his game when he's crashing the boards with big men down low.

Yeah agreed Durant really isn't a crash the boards kind of guy which helped him out through his career.  With big guys down low its knees, feet and backs they need to worry about.  The one thing he has going for him is the change in style of play and the rules that protect people in the paint.  I'm very interested to see how his first month goes.  If I had to guess I'd say he shoots under 40% and averages 12-13 points.  They aren't going to let him hang in the middle and he will probably start the year by taking a lot of outside shots.
795  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cross addictions is Just as Bad. on: October 19, 2023, 08:32:58 PM
Cross addiction is as worst as the main addiction you are trying to quit and it is a terrible idea. But what is cross addiction?
Quote
What Are Cross Addictions?
Cross addiction, also known as addiction transfer or addiction interaction disorder, occurs in various ways. First, an individual may simultaneously engage in substance abuse and maladapative behavioral patterns (medically referred to as behavioral or process addictions). Second, a person may replace one addiction with another (i.e., substituting opioids with cannabis). Third, an addictive behavior may precede a chemical addiction or vice versa.
https://www.choosingtherapy.com/cross-addiction/

So a friend told me that a mutual friend tried to replace his gambling addiction with another another one because he has tried all everything else. The new addiction is PS4. He pays for extra on the game and he is getting more and more into it. According to my friend, this mutual friend feels that paying $20 per month its subscription is better than $100- $500 on slots where he ends up losing.

Well I told him that this is basically cross addiction and what that mutual friend is trying to do is like running away from the truth. Not wanting to face the core issue. So he is justify spending $20 and not on slots when both are unhealthy addictions that can have far reaching consequences. He just has to sit and face his addiction head on without looking for a replacement addiction which is just as bad.

Ever heard of cross addiction or suffered from it?
What do you think?

Don't know if this is really a gambling topic but in terms of gambling addiction and replacing it with another I don't see that as a bad thing as long as the new addiction is less damaging to that individuals lives.  People can get addicted to healthy things like running, working out, reading, etc.  Then there is the opposite like opiods, etc which can literally kill you.  So I think it's all relative to the cross addiction you are talking about.
796  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: why meme coins are trending? on: October 18, 2023, 09:10:55 PM
Today, my narrative takes an exhilarating turn with the introduction of the $Opium meme token. This latest addition to my crypto portfolio radiates innovation and promises to inject fresh life into the meme coin universe. Just as with $PEPE, $CAL, and $SAFERUM, $Opium is not merely a senseless creation; it realize the spirit of a movement, a community-driven endeavor with untapped potential.

Now, I'm on a new adventure with the $Opium meme token. It's the latest coin I added to my crypto collection, and it's looking like it could be the next big thing in the world of meme coins. Just like with $PEPE, $CAL, and $SAFERUM, I see potential in $Opium that goes beyond just being a joke.

Meme tokens started as funny internet stuff, but they are turning into serious business with real communities behind them. $Opium, with its cool idea and excited supporters, seems like it's going to be a standout meme token. It's more than just a joke; it's a movement.

It's just a fad it isn't a movement.  With every fad it eventually fies out.  Ask yourself a question, does it solve a problem?  If the answer is no it's not needed.  Greed has driven the whole meem trend and really driven by elon and his toying around with dogecoin.  Once the new bullring comes a new fad will begin and memes will die off.
797  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cash out or keep playing? on: October 18, 2023, 09:09:09 PM
I want to pose a question that I believe is quite expensive for many of us here, and it's a dilemma most of us can relate to. We all know that gambling is a game where we put our luck to the test. However, there's a crucial moment in every gambler's journey. the moment when you hit that big win. Do you cash out and savor your victory, or do you continue playing in hopes of even bigger winnings?

I've often wondered how many of us can truly stop playing when we are ahead. It's a challenge because the allure of winning more can be irresistible. I've witnessed situations where a friend deposited money into a casino, faced losses, and just when he was on the brink of frustration, he struck a significant win. Did he stop playing? No, he left his winnings in the casino, only to lose it all again.
So, I ask you all, what would you do when you finally make that big win? Would you cash out immediately to enjoy your winnings, or would you keep playing in the hopes of an even more substantial prize? Shocked

The time test quote "ypu have to know when to hold them and when to fold the.".  The problem with most gamblers is they can't accept a losing day and Chace bad money with good money.  Just accept a loss and live for another day.  Best way to run that way is to set limits both on upside and downside and a walk away point.  Either that or a time constraint.  Stick by it either way helps navigate greed related betting.
798  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Pacquaio vs Mayweather 2 rematch on: October 18, 2023, 09:06:33 PM
Not related to the Pacquiao vs. Mayweather 2 rematch, I just wanted to share that alleged Manny Pacquiao's son from other woman has made his professional boxing debut.
Pacquiao Jr. (Emmanuel Bacosa Pacquiao) greatly resembles his father not only in appearance but also in his fighting style. It appears he has inherited his skills from his father and I hope he continues to carry on his father's legacy in the world of boxing.

Has anyone here seen the fight? If not, you can watch it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yY_a29p3a0M
Expecting the same kind of performance that his father had from this kid is simply unfair, Pacquiao is one of the best boxers ever and probabilities alone dictate that it will be almost impossible for two fighters of the same level could appear on the same family, just look at what happened to the children of Chavez which is the best Mexican fighter ever, his kids were bad inside and outside the ring, so as long as this kid can avoid tarnishing the reputation of his father and can become a champion I would consider that a success.

He doesn't have the skill. What Manny Pacman had during his teen life was just boxing which he put all his hopes into. This allegedly son of his is not near to what Pacman can do during his amateur days. It's all on YouTube, he managed to KO older than him while he was a teen. Most boxers who tend to become the greatest are like Mike Tyson who rose from poverty. Pacman did the same. Most of them came from poor beginnings.

Still, I doubt this rematch 2 will happen unless they are really paid in huge amount of money they can't refuse. This could be needed for the people to look into boxing and not the wars we see today.

Agreed, boxing is one of those sports to get people off the streets.  It happens more times than not that the best become the best because they literally have no other choice.  If not for boxing then they will struggle in life.  No better motivator for a man to put success and food/shelter in the way.
799  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 18, 2023, 09:03:41 PM
Not a good sign that LeBron is already having nightmares and the season hasn’t even started yet. While I do think he’ll have a good season and add to his records, to me the team he’s running with just doesn’t seem good enough to win a title. For that, I think they really needed to be the winners of the Damian Lillard sweepstakes.

Yeah they needed to add to what they had and really didn't.  They weren't all that good albeit had a decent run.  But 2 main guys another year older isn't going to fare well during the season.  They needed to land someone significant that can run the team if Bron and AD are put for any decent amount of time.  They seem like a .500 ball club to me which isn't bad but it's more like a second round knockout type team.
800  Economy / Collectibles / Re: NGC formally announces 250 Brass Cass Coins being Auctioned w/ Heritage Soon on: October 18, 2023, 04:59:05 PM
But a buyer's fee of 12.5% matters.

That's the price of moving the market into the mainstream, whether it's an artist being represented by an agent or gallery, any major auction house and even retail establishments, there will be added costs, the alternative is to sell items oneself ie on BTF, or just peel and destroy the artefacts, my decision was to go down the major auction house route with the increased exposure that their marketing, clout and collectors base will bring.

First off we'll done otoh.  This market always needed that movement.  But with a 12.5% vig, what are your realistic expectations on these.  Over the past several years these brass ones held small "over face" value?  I guess it's anyone's guess because a fiat whale with no way to know or realize the other avenues to get these or trust to get these might pay well over (which I hope for you and all of us).  Looking forward to see how this unfolds.  🙂
